The late, great Carrie Fisher died on December 27, 2016. Fans mourned her, but her daughter Billie Lourd misses her most of all. Last year, she mourned and remembered Carrie . This year, she's doing something a little different. Billie Lourd is mourning the loss of her incomparable mother, Carrie Fisher, two years later. In an Instagram video that we have included for you, Billie sings a somber but beautiful tune. In the captions, she provides a little context. “It has been two years since my Momby’s death,” Billie begins. “And,” she admits. “I still don’t know what the “right” thing to do on a death anniversary is.” None of us who have grappled with the sudden loss of a loved one do. “(I’m sure a lot of you feel the same way about your loved ones),” Billie acknowledges. “So,” she writes. “I decided to do something a little vulnerable for me,” “But,” Billie continues, it is “something we both loved to do together – sing.” “This is the piano her father gave her,” she shares. “And this was one of her favorite songs.” Billie says: “And as the song says, 'we must “keep on moving.'” That is a helpful message. “I’ve found that what keeps me moving,” she shares. “Is doing things that make me happy,” She is absolutely right! No one's loved ones would want for them to be miserable on their behalf. Billie has found that she is in better spirits when she is “working hard on the things that I’m passionate about.” Right again. You get into the groove of whatever it is that you do, and you can't help but be a little happier. “And,” Billie writes, she thrives by “surrounding myself with people I love and making them smile.” That should be a very easy task for her. She is a delight. She continues: “I hope this encourages anyone feeling a little low or lost to 'keep on moving.'” “As my Momby once said, “'take your broken heart and turn it into art,'” Billie writes. Those monsters made discussion of the film difficult, and many feel that Carrie herself could have brought fans together. During a special 40th anniversary celebration in honor of the Star Wars saga this morning, Billie Lourd got up on stage in Orlando and delivered a powerful speech about her mom. While dressed as Princess Leia. The event – attended by such stars as Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill and director George Lucas – was billed as a look back at various stories and memories related to the beloved franchise. But it was a panel was dedicated to the late Carrie Fisher that drew the most attention. Especially afterward, once word of Lourd’s speech spread across the Internet. Fisher, of course, portrayed Leia in multiple Star Wars movies. She died of a heart attack at the age of 60 in late December, a stunning and sad development that continues to affect all her knew her well. “She could hold her own against anything,” Lucas said of Fisher this morning. “She wore a dress through the whole thing, but she was the toughest one of the group. And that’s the key to Carrie being able to play that part. It was a hard part to play, and she pulled it off brilliantly. “And it really shows the level of her talent. And at the same time, she was fun to be with.” Incredibly (and tragically), Fisher’s famous mother, actress Debbie Reynolds, died one day after her daughter. The two were honored together last month in a public memorial service. “There are not many people like her, one in a billion. We’ll all love her forever and ever,” Lucas added. And then Lourd was called on to say a few words. “My mom used to say she never knew where Princess Leia ended and Carrie Fisher began,”said Lourd, donning a dress that paid homage to her mother’s Leia costume. “She was imperfect in many ways, but her imperfections and willingness to speak about them are what made her more than perfect.” Continued the young actress, speaking to a sold-out crowd: “She taught me three important things. I am beyond grateful.” Since her mother’s unexpected passing, Lourd has made various statements on social media and shared a couple precious throwback photos. “Receiving all of your prayers and kind words over the past week has given me strength during a time I thought strength could not exist,” she wrote on January 2, breaking her silence over losing both her mother and grandmother. When Carrie Fisher died this week at the age of 60, she left behind an enormous Star Wars family and untold millions of fans worldwide. While the iconic actress Fisher belonged to all of us in a sense, the single closest person to her was her only child, daughter Billie Lourd. Billie is 24 years old. Like her mom, Lourd was born in Los Angeles, California, and as the daughter of an actress and talent agent, had showbiz in her blood. Billie's father is agent Bryan Lourd, a partner and managing director of the Creative Arts Agency, and who later came out as bisexual.
