A 60-year old man named Joe Rickey Hundley has been charged with simple assault after flipping out this month on a two-year old boy aboard an Atlanta-found flight. FBI special agent Daron Cheney says the incident took place on February 8. In an affidavit, he quotes the child’s mother as telling authorities the child was crying as the Delta flight was landing. Hundley, sitting alongside the boy, slapped him in the face (causing a scratch under his right eye) and told the mother to “shut that [N-Word] baby up. Cheney adds that the mother received “assistance from several people” in order to calm Hundley down . He has not been taken into custody, but the case is expected to go to court at some point in the near future. “We think that it is important to let the case develop, and we’ll see how it all comes out,” Hundley’s attorney Marcia Shein said yesterday.

The cast of MTV’s Buckwild has been … well, goin’ buckwild lately. This time it’s Michael Burford, a.k.a. “Bluefoot,” getting arrested. The reality star got popped Friday morning in Charleston, W.V. Police say Burford was pulled over for speeding and appeared to be drinking. He failed a field sobriety test and had a blood alcohol level greater than .15. That makes it aggravated DUI case under West Virginia law … a.k.a. worse than regular DUI. He was TRASHED in other words, if that reading was correct. Co-star Salwa Amin was also arrested this week, for drug possession with intent to deliver … quality role models MTV picked out with this bunch, no doubt.

A week after he was arrested in Burbank for failing to obey traffic laws, Mitchel Musso was formerly charged with two counts of drunk driving, both misdemeanors: Driving under the influence of alcohol. Driving with a blood alcohol level of .08 or higher. If convicted on both charges, the actor could go to jail for six months, but that is a minute possibility. First-time DUI offenders rarely get sentenced to prison, TMZ reports , barring aggravating circumstances, none of which apply here. Expect Musso, who is due in court again on November 11, to be handed probation and forced to attend alcohol education classes. A fine is also likely. Rapper Flo Rida hit a real “Low” point this morning when he was busted for DUI – in the state spelled the same way as his name, only without the space. Probably not a coincidence. Flo got popped in Miami Beach in a red and black Bugatti – a ride worth $1.7 MILLION – after he was swerving in his lane. During the traffic stop around 3:30 a.m., the police detected the odor of alcohol, and Flo was given a field sobriety test, which he performed poorly on. Flo Rida, whose real name is Tramar Dillard, was arrested on suspicion of DUI and taken to a station where he joined our celebrity mug shots gallery. Sources say Flo’s blood alcohol level was more than double the legal limit . The police report notes that large crowd gathered around Flo after cops pulled him over, and that several bystanders were “trying to get officers to let [Flo Rida] go.” “Some individuals were offering to drive [Flo] home.” Always nice to see an outpouring of support from the community.

According to TMZ, which first reported the arrest, Springfield failed sobriety tests issued by officers when they smelled alcohol in his vehicle. Rick Springfield was arrested Sunday night for drunk driving. The #39;80s “Jessie#39;s Girl” rocker, 61, was pulled over by the L.A. County Sheriff#39;s Dept. for a traffic violation, us has confirmed, and his blood alcohol content was measured at .10, which is .02 over the legal limit.

How nice, and rare, to see celebrity scandals end well for a change. Turns out Christina Aguilera’s boyfriend Matt Rutler was NOT too drunk to drive after all. Rutler got popped for DUI back in March, but citing insufficient evidence to prosecute, the L.A. District Attorney determined he won’t be charged with a crime. That’s because his blood alcohol content was ultimately determined to be .06, or under California’s legal limit to operate a vehicle, .08. So why was he busted? Matt has even more to smile about now that he’s in the clear! Aguilera, a passenger in the car at the time, was busted for public drunkenness when officers determined she was too plowed to take care of herself . Matt Rutler was likely arrested on suspicion of DUI by association. Hours after the arrest, officials decided they would not pursue any charges against the singer. Now they’ve exonerated her man, as well. Good for them. Well, except for the whole downward spiral thing.
