Thomas Markle Jr.: Meghan’s Brother Arrested For Drunk Driving

Another day, another embarrassment for the Markle family. This time, it’s Thomas Markle Jr.’s turn to make Meghan’s in-laws even happier that they live an ocean away. TMZ is reporting that Thomas has been arrested by Oregon State Police for driving under the influence of alcohol. The incident occurred at 1:33 AM on Friday morning. Though police have not released Thomas’ BAC, they say the 52-year-old was “well over the legal limit” at the time of his arrest. Thomas was asked to take a breathalyzer after failing several field sobriety tests. According to TMZ his “impairment was obvious” to the arresting officers. Markle’s Chevy Silverado was impounded, and he was taken to the Grants Pass Sobering Center to dry out. Thankfully, no one was hurt, and unless Tom Jr. has some sort of lengthy rap sheet we don’t know about (which is entirely possible), he’ll probably escape from this situation with a slap on the wrist. But this is yet another indication that Meghan was incredibly lucky to break free from the rest of the Markle clan and reach the incredible heights she’s reached. If it’s not Samantha Markle slamming Meghan in the press, or Thomas Markle Sr. faking a heart attack, it’s Thomas Jr. dragging his family’s name through the mud with this sort of foolishness. The public was first introduced to Thomas back in April, when he penned an open letter  in which he warned Prince Harry against marrying Meghan. Hilariously, earlier this week, Thomas tried to make amends by inviting Meghan to his upcoming wedding . We’re guessing she was never planning on attending, but Thomas’ latest idiocy likely helped to confirm that she made the right decision by keeping her distance. Fortunately, the Royal Family of 2019 is a bit kinder and gentler than the monarchs of old. Queen Elizabeth II and company have reportedly been incredibly supportive throughout her family’s efforts to publicly humiliate her. So while it certainly sucks that Meghan was born into such an awful family, there’s some comfort in the fact that she married into a much, much better one. Sarah Hyland’s Cousin Has Been Killed in a Drunk Driving Accident

Sarah Hyland has some tragic news to pass along. The Modern Family star’s 14-year old cousin, Trevor Canaday, was killed in a drunk driving accident on Saturday. In a screen capture taken from the GoFundMe page, Hyland wrote the following: “This is my 14 year old cousin Trevor. Yesterday, he was killed by a drunk driver. My uncle is still in the hospital in need of more surgeries.” The GoFundMe page was set up by Trevor’s mothers and aunts and it explains what transpired with Travor and his dad in Nebraska over the weekend. On Saturday 12/1 Trevor and his dad were driving to a show choir event and were involved in a serious car accident due to a drunk driver. His dad, Bryan, is recovering physically, but sadly Trevor has gained his wings and is singing and playing some crazy football in heaven. We are looking to help his mom, Becky, with funeral and hospital expenses in any way we can! We hope to have the funeral entirely covered and then will move forward with covering medical expenses from keeping Trevor stable and from dads surgery’s and rest at the hospital (UNMC). We will be getting the money to Mom (Becky) as soon as possible with the help of all of you by her being the beneficiary and depositing money into her account to relieve her worries as much as we can. Trevor was a funny, smart, innovative, athletic, goofy kid and he was so loved. His memory will live on in many ways. Please help us do this for the family now to help ease their suffering away from money to focus on healing emotionally. Thank you. You can click HERE to donate to the cause. And here is a picture of Trevor with his immediate family: Hyland’s Modern Family co-star, Ariel Winter, shared her friend’s screenshot about her cousin and encouraged her followers to donate. Both of Hyland and Winter’s Instagram stories said that the man allegedly driving the other vehicle had two previous DUIs on his record. Hyland wrote of another photo, the man “hit my Uncle’s car so fast my cousin (who was wearing a seatbelt) was ejected from the car.” Nolan Gould, who plays the brother of Winter and Hyland’s characters on their ABC sitcom, has also donated to the GoFundMe page and posted the link to his respective social media followers. We send our condolences to the family of Sarah Hyland. We can’t imagine what they must be going through right now. May Trevor Canaday rest in peace.

The Roloffs are not the Kardashians. We mostly tune in to Little People, Big World each week because we want to see a bunch of relatives interact who basically just enjoy each other's company. They don't fight. They don't exploit each other. There's very little drama and almost no controversy. ALMOST , we said. Over the years, various members of this close-knit family have had run-ins with the law, clashes with social media users and taken part in other scandalous affairs that may come as a surprise. We still love Matt, Amy and company. As you are about to find out, however, they are not perfect… 1. Jacob Dropped Out of High School And he didn’t do so quietly, either, engaging on Twitter with someone who gave him props to his “high intellect,” but critcized him for dropping out in protest of public institutions, to which Jacob replied: “If you can tell my intellectual level with me not having finished formal high school, why do I still need it? Just to say so?” He added that he had a “hard time being excited” for his friends going to a four-year college. “I think you could learn a lot more for a lot less.” 2. Matt Got Arrested for Drunk Driving The incident took place in 2007, after he was stopped near his home for swerve in and out and his lane. Six months after the arrest, he was found not guilty in court. 3. Jeremy the… Bigot? Way back in 2008, Jeremy Roloff was accused of writing racist and homophobic messages on his MySpace account. The situation was brought to everyone’s attention by the National Enquirer story excerpted above. The messages at the time insulted African-Americans, Mexicans and gay people. 4. Jacob the… Drug User? We can’t say this one is too stunning, but Jacob once Tweeted: “Who doesn’t suck at selling weed Hmu.” That acronym stands for Hit Me Up. 5. Roloff Farms… Sued? Yes. In 2011, a Washington woman named Linda Farrall alleged that she was injured due to a fall from a picnic pavilion at the property. She sued the Roloffs for negligence and the case was settled out of court. 6. Jacob Accuses Producers of… Stealing? Always an outspoken individual, Jacob publicly claimed in 2015 that he was getting ripped off from his time on the series. “Man I wish it didn’t feel like I was getting f-ced out of the money from the show that was my childhood right now,” he said back then. Sam Shepard: Arrested for Drunk Driving

Sam Shepard, an actor and Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright most recently seen in the Netflix drama Bloodline, was arrested on suspicious of drunk driving Monday. After being pulled over in Santa Fe, the 71-year-old told a police officer that he had two drinks of tequila and was on his way home. “Our officer could smell alcohol on his breath, and he had bloodshot, watery eyes,” Santa Fe police Lt. Andrea Dobyns said. She added that Shepherd refused to take a breath test, yet he did perform a field sobriety test, which he failed. Shepard was arrested on a charge of aggravated driving while intoxicated outside La Choza restaurant in downtown and released on bond Tuesday afternoon. Watch the above video for more.

The joys of being white and rich … Teen Gets Probation For Killing Four People In Drunk Driving Accident Via HuffPo reports: A 16-year-old avoided spending time in prison for killing four people in a car accident in June after the judge bought his lawyers’ argument that he was the victim of wealth. CBSDFW reports that Ethan Couch was sentenced to 10 years probation for the drunk driving crash that ended the lives of youth pastor, Brian Jennings; Hollie and Shelby Boyles; and Breanna Mitchell. Prosecutors asked that Couch serve 20 years in prison. His blood alcohol level was .24, three times the legal limit for an adult. Psychologist G. Dick Miller testified for the defense that Couch suffered from “affluenza,” a condition in which “his family felt that wealth bought privilege and there was no rational link between behavior and consequences,” KHOU reported. Miller said Couch’s parents never punished him for his behavior, even when, in a separate incident, cops found him passed out in a car with a naked 14-year-old girl. As part of his sentence, Couch will be sent to a private counseling center that costs $450,000, which will be paid for by his father. Money and privilege has helped defendants avoid serious prison time for violent crimes before. In a particularly clear example, cited by journalist Glenn Greenwald, hedge fund manager Martin Joel Erzinger served just 90 days in jail after driving the car that seriously injured a bicyclist and fled the scene of the accident in 2010. The district attorney in the case charged Erzlinger with two misdemeanors instead of a felony, noting that “felony convictions have some pretty serious job implications for someone in Mr. Erzinger’s profession.” How many young black men are sitting in jail for years if not decades for far less?

Bobby Brown Arrested on Suspicion of DUI

Bobby Brown is in trouble with the law once again. The singer was arrested this afternoon in Reseda, California on suspicion of driving under the influence , TMZ confirms, as police pulled the artist over around 12:20 p.m. local time while he was chatting on a cell phone. Brown was then booked and placed in a Van Nuys jail. Friends are reportedly on the way to bail him out as we type. Whitney Houston’s ex, who has not been making positive headlines since his former wife passed away, was also arrested in 1996 on drunk driving charges, eventually serving eight days in jail. In November 2002, meanwhile, he was arrested in Atlanta (mug shots above) and charged with possession of marijuana, speeding and driving without a license or proof of insurance.

Looks like more drama for Basketball Wives. Charlie Bell was arrested on October 21st for drunk driving in his hometown of Flint, MI. His court date was yesterday and he showed up to court…DRUNK! He blew a .09 at court. Bell was held in a holding cell until he got sober and had to return to court this morning. You must remember that he’s married to crazy a$$ Kenya Bell who tried to slice him with a box cutter in May. Still, she’s kind of hot so it’s all excusable. She’s also a former Miss Michigan and on the new season of Basketball Wives. Let’s take a look!

Mitchel Musso Charged with Two Counts of Drunk Driving

A week after he was arrested in Burbank for failing to obey traffic laws, Mitchel Musso was formerly charged with two counts of drunk driving, both misdemeanors: Driving under the influence of alcohol. Driving with a blood alcohol level of .08 or higher. If convicted on both charges, the actor could go to jail for six months, but that is a minute possibility. First-time DUI offenders rarely get sentenced to prison, TMZ reports , barring aggravating circumstances, none of which apply here. Expect Musso, who is due in court again on November 11, to be handed probation and forced to attend alcohol education classes. A fine is also likely. Most importantly, let’s hope he learns a valuable lesson. Do NOT drink and drive, kids. The same goes for adults. [Photo: WENN.com]
