Reese Witherspoon on Arrest: So Sorry, So Embarrassed

Reese Witherspoon stopped by Good Morning America yesterday and spoke out for the first time since her arrest for disorderly conduct . “We went out to a restaurant in Atlanta, and we had one too many glasses of wine,” the Oscar winner said of herself and husband Jim Toth . “We thought we were fine to drive and we were absolutely not, and we are so sorry and just so embarrassed… We know better and we shouldn’t have done that.” Toth was pulled over after his car was spotted by police officers, weaving in and out of traffic. Witherspoon then took exception to how long the process was taking, exiting the vehicle multiple times even after being warned to stay put by the police. The actress cites “poor judgment for the incident and emphasized:  “We made a mistake, and it was something that will absolutely never happen again.” You can actually watch footage of Witherspoon being handcuffed because, as acknowledged by the star in this interview, she was “disrespectful” and her behavior was “unacceptable.” “I have no idea what I was saying,” she explained on GMA . “That night I saw him arresting my husband, and I panicked. I said all kinds of crazy things. I said I was pregnant…I’m not pregnant. I said crazy things. I had no idea what I was talking about.” As for telling her older kids about the arrest? That “the hardest part about it,” Reese admitted. “When you make a mistake, you take responsibility, and we are taking responsibility, and we are doing everything within our power to make it right.”

Celtics and Knicks Engage in Post-Game Shoving Match: Who Started It?

The Boston Celtics shocked the basketball world last night by keeping their season alive in New York, defeating the Knicks 92-86 in Game Five of the NBA Playoffs. But the real fireworks were saved until after the game, when Celtics benchwarmer Jordan Crawford got into it with Raymond Felton and Carmelo Anthony. Watch the fracas below: Celtics vs. Knicks: Post-Game Shoving Match Did this beef have anything to do with Kevin Garnett telling Anthony awhile back that his wife tastes like Honey Nut Cheerios ? Crawford – who didn’t even play in the game – simply told The Boston Globe: “They was talking to me, baby. They was talking to me. Yeah, they like me. I think it’s that smile I keep carrying… “I don’t know what happened, you know what I’m saying? I was on the bench the whole game, I don’t know why they was talking to me. “They gotta be upset, their [expletives] tightening up. Of course they upset.” Well, okay then. That clears it all right up! Game 6 will be played in Boston tomorrow night.

Hansel and Gretel Hunt Down Box Office Win

Hansel and Gretel did more than take out witches at the box office this weekend; the updated, violent take on a classic fairy tale also took out the competition. Overcoming mixed reviews (and a weak field), this Jeremy Renner-led drama took in $19 million Friday and Saturday, easily topping second-place Mama for the top spot. Movie 43 , meanwhile, proved that it takes more than a handful of big names to earn a big draw. Sometimes, it takes a good script and jokes that are not horrid. Here is a look at the top five box office grossers: Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters : $19.0 million Mama : $12.9 million Silver Linings Playbook : $10.0 million Zero Dark Thirty : $9.8 million Parker : $7.0 million

Rajon Rondo Tears ACL, Effectively Ends Celtics Season

Already mired in a season-high losing streak, the Boston Celtics received news today that effectively ends their season: Rajon Rondo has torn his ACL. The All-Star point goes ends his season with averages of 13.7 points, 11.1 assists, and 5.6 rebounds per game. He was coming off back-to-back triple-doubles as well. Barely locked into the eighth spot in the Eastern Conference playoffs even before Rondo went down, Boston will now look to the future. Might they trade Paul Pierce? Kevin Garnett? Both veteran superstars? Even the most loyal fan must admit: it’s time for the Celtics to rebuild.

New Couple: Celtics Coach Doc Rivers’ Daughter Callie Has Been Getting Her Athletic Backs Chopped Down By UNC Baller Dexter Strickland!

Check out THIS cute couple! Although her brother Austin Rivers is the topic of discussion with Duke getting bounced out of the NCAA Tournament, Callie has never had a problem garnering her own attention. The 6-foot volley-baller is bangin’, leggy, and hard to miss. This was especially true when catching the eye of her brother’s rival and boo-thang Dexter Strickland who plays for the Tarheels of the University of North Carolina. Callie has been watching her brother play at Duke a lot recently and with Dexter playing right down the road at UNC the two have been spending a lot of “qualtiy time” together! For those that were unaware, Doc Rivers wife Kris is of the caucasian persuasion and their swirly love thang has produced a beautiful daughter. Our History Makers: Bill Russell

More here:

As accomplished as NBA legend Bill Russell was on the court, he was also a giant off the court. Why else would President Obama see fit to present Russell with a Presidential Medal of Freedom Award in 2010? On the hardwood, Bill Russell was the cornerstone of the Boston Celtics’ dynasty of the 1960s, winning an unprecedented 11 championships in his 13 seasons. A skilled shotblocker, Russell revolutionized NBA defensive concepts. A five-time NBA Most Valuable Player and a 12-time All-Star, Russell averaged 22.5 rebounds per game and led the league in rebounding four times. He had 51 boards in one game, 49 in two others and a dozen consecutive seasons of 1,000 or more rebounds. William Felton Russell was born on February 12, 1934, in Monroe, Louisiana. His family later moved to the San Francisco Bay Area, where Russell would go on to attend the University of San Francisco, where he blossomed. Russell would lead the University of San Francisco to 56 consecutive victories and NCAA Championships in 1955 and 1956. Russell was named the NCAA Tournament Most Outstanding Player in 1955. Boston Celtics Coach and General Manager Red Auerbach drafted Russell to the Celtics in 1956, but Russell didn’t join the Celtics until December because he was a member of the 1956 U.S. Olympic basketball team, which won a gold medal at the Melbourne Games in November. After another NBA Championship in 1965-66, Red Auerbach retired, and Russell took over as player-coach the following season, becoming the first African-American coach in the league. He led the Celtics to a 60-21 regular-season record, but Boston finally had their streak of championships snapped when they lost to a powerful Philadelphia 76ers team in the Eastern Division Finals. Having witnessed racism and all its ugliness firsthand as a child growing up in segregated Louisiana, Russell took public stands against discrimination throughout his career. Before the 1961–62 NBA season, Russell refused to play in an exhibition game in Lexington, Kentucky when he and his black teammates were refused service at a local restaurant. Russell also joined other prominent black athletes like Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in publicly supporting Muhammad Ali’s decision to refuse to be drafted. Until the ascent of Michael Jordan in the 1980s and ’90s, Russell was considered by many as the greatest player in the history of the NBA.

Evelyn Lozada Explains Why She Went In On Her Ex-BFF Jennifer

Read more:

Looks like more drama to look forward to on the next season of Basket Ball Wives,  premieres February 20th (8/9c) on Vh1. There’s no secret that Evelyn and Jennifer are now ex-BFF’s, they made that loud and clear on twitter. Evelyn went in on Jennifer calling her out on wearing those fake purple contacts, and more.  Evelyn tells Insider.com why there friendship is done and why she thinks Jen is “an ugly person inside”. Check the interview below. TheInsider.com: I saw your tweets last night! First, can you tell me how long you and Jennifer have been friends? Evelyn: We’ve been friends for about twelve years. We met in 1999, and her soon to be ex husband was playing for the Boston Celtics and my ex fiancé was playing on the same team. We ended up meeting at the games. TheInsider.com: So this friendship wasn’t just for the show? Evelyn Lozada: No! I was in Jennifer’s wedding! You meet a lot of friends over the years, but we remained close. We went to family functions together. I was the one who got Jennifer on the show. TheInsider.com: How did the rift between you two start? Evelyn Lozada: The relationship was a little strained prior to her doing a radio interview about Chad (Evelyn’s fiancé). It started when it was all over the web that he had proposed. My thing is this: if you were proposed to, or you were with whomever, no matter what my opinion is, I’m still going to be like ‘hey girl if you’re happy, I’m there. Let me see the ring.’ She never asked to see my ring, she NEVER congratulated me. She could have gave a sh*t. TheInsider.com: What ultimately happened that ended the relationship ? Evelyn Lozada: She did something publicly that pissed me off. I can’t say, because the season isn’t out yet, but let’s just say she did something else publicly that really pissed me off. If you go back and you search any interviews I’ve done, I don’t ever really discuss the other ladies. Once I’m done with the show, I’m done with the show. But Jennifer, she’s agreed to do every interview, she’s constantly talking, talking, talking. And that’s my issue. Last season so many radio stations wanted to talk to me. And I never talked about her. But she can’t help herself. I had loyalty towards her. But she agrees to do these things. And I was quiet until yesterday. I finally exploded. TheInsider.com: I saw an interview Jennifer did recently that said you were jealous of her friendship with NeNe Leakes. Why would she think that? Evelyn Lozada: That’s really what threw me over the edge because Jennifer, you’re lying. We’re two months into filming and she KNOWS what the issue is. So why would you go on an interview and say my issue is with you being friends with NeNe? That’s what pissed me off. I’m cool with NeNe! Don’t make it seem like I’m hating on your friendship with other women, because I could care less! Jennifer went on vacation with a close friend of mine. I don’t care who you hang out with. I ended up calling NeNe and let her know ‘I don’t have an issue with you.’ Stop putting people into this. That baffled me. I don’t know what her angle is. TheInsider.com: Why did you take it to twitter? Evelyn Lozada: People were hitting me up about her interview. Bloggers, everyone. And I felt like I needed to address it. And that’s when I said what I said on twitter. Why are you doing an interview when you’re lying? TheInsider.com: Do you think your friendship is repairable? Evelyn Lozada: No. My friendship with her is done. I was having issues with Royce (another co-star) because I was backing her [Jennifer] up! I was sitting back and I was thinking how could I have been friends with this person who turned out to be so ugly inside. TheInsider.com: Do you think the show changed her? Evelyn Lozada: Everyone knows Jennifer is bougie. Her mixed with a little bit of fame can really turn people off. She thinks she’s bigger than life right now. TheInsider.com: Clear this up. Does Jennifer actually wear colored contacts? Evelyn Lozada: Jennifer will only take those things out when she goes to sleep. In ten years I have rarely seen her without contacts [Laughs]. courtesy of www.insider.com
