Canadian Farming Family Mourns Deaths Of Three Daughters Killed By Canola Seeds This is so sad. Via NY Daily News reports : A Canadian farming family is in mourning after three of their little girls were killed after being buried alive in a truckload of canola seeds. The incredible tragedy claimed the lives of 13-year-old Catie Bott and her twin sisters, Dara and Jana, 11, at their Alberta home on Tuesday, the Calgary Sun reported . Family members and neighbors managed to free the girls and perform CPR. Two of the girls could not be immediately saved while the third was flown to a children’s hospital where she died from her injuries on Wednesday afternoon. “Our kids died living life on the farm, it is a family farm. We do not regret raising and involving our kids Catie, age 13 — Dara, age 11, and Jana, age 11 on our farm. It was our life! (sic)” the children’s heartbroken parents said in a statement. “Thank you for all of the overwhelming support we have received from the first responders, neighbors and friends. A groomer at a downtown dog daycare and grooming facility was fired Thursday evening after allegations of animal abuse surfaced late last week, the daycare’s owner confirmed.Dean Miles, who owns Fur Kids Daycare, said he was shown videos last Friday that showed the groomer apparently striking a dog and trying to force another out of a kennel using a vacuum cleaner.The videos were allegedly taken last Tuesday by a former employee, who was also the groomer’s apprentice, Miles said. “The safety of our dogs is the most important thing because that’s our business,” Miles said. “When things like this happen, you’ve got to react to it.”This is the first time there have been any allegations of animal abuse at the daycare, said Miles. The Calgary Humane Society is currently investigating and has seen “several” videos, said Brad Nichols, head of the Calgary Humane Society’s protection and investigations department.”We’re lookingat the video, we’re gathering statements, and once we have everything compiled, we’ll send it to the Crown prosecutor’s office for an opinion on appropriate enforcement action, if any,” Nichols said.The Humane Society receives a “handful” of abuse allegations against groomers and boarders each year, he said. My name is Ashley and I met my idol, Justin Drew Bieber on October 12 2012 before the show in Calgary, Alberta. It all started a couple weeks before the concert. I went on Bieberfever.com and saw the best collection contest to win meet and greets. I entered the contest the next day and waited. It was 1 day before the concert when I got the e-mail that changed my life. It was an e-mail from BieberFever saying that I had won the contest! I started shaking and crying when I read it. I can not describe the emotions I was feeling, my dream was finally coming true. Fast forward to the day of the concert. I got to the Saddledome (where the concert was) an hour and a half before the meet and greet, I was shaking. I could not believe in less than 2 hours I was going to be meeting the person who means everything to me. The time of the meet and greet quickly creeped up, and before I knew it I was in the line up, with dozens of other girls to meet Justin. After about 5 minutes of waiting and walking I saw these tall black curtains arranged into a square where Justin was standing behind, and that is when I started screaming and not breathing normally, lol. Finally I was next in line, and I saw Kenny and started squealing and saying “Omg it’s KENNY!” He gave me the oddest looks, but that’s okay! Then Kenny opened the curtain and I saw Justin, the person who I’ve been waiting years to meet, the guy who I fangirl over everyday, the boy who changed my life, standing right there! I couldn’t even move! I was stunned! So Kenny said to me, “Go on, you’re only meeting the most famous pop star,” so then I ran up to Justin and he said to me ”How you doing sweetie?” (I think i hyperventilated). Then I said, “Can I have a hug?” while almost crying my eyes out and he replied sure, and I gave him the biggest, tightest hug! Then the security or whoever put me and my mom, and my friend and her friend in order, to take the picture. Right before they took the picture I looked up at Justin, and saw his flawless face and hair and his black cap that was on backwards. After the picture as I was leaving I screamed to Justin, “You’re amazing, I LOVE YOU!” he nodded and smiled. As I was leaving I ran into Alfredo!!! I asked for a hug and my mom took a picture of us together, he told us to have an amazing night and to enjoy the show. I could not believe I just met my idol and Alfredo Flores. All my dreams have finally come true. When I got out of the meet and greet area I started sobbing, I could not stop! It was the best experience of my life. After I got myself together (kind of) we went to go line up to get into the concert. After we got in we went to our floor seats and the concert was starting soon. Carly Rae Jepsen did amazing. She looked beautiful. Then Justin came on stage, well flew on stage. I spazzed out so bad! He looked so amazing and all that could go through my head was “I just him, I just met him.” The concert was absolutely stunning. Justin did incredible, and looked so gorgeous! After the concert ended I started bawling my eyes out because the best night of my life was over, the day I’ve been looking forward to for months was over. Over all it was the best night of my life, and I will NEVER ever forget it. All I’ve got to say is dreams do come true if you BELIEVE, and if you live by the saying I have for years NEVER SAY NEVER! With three Grammy nominations under their belt — two for “Every Teardrop is a Waterfall” and one for “Paradise” — the band will be on the road from April through August in the U.S. and Canada, currently slated to wrap things up at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minnesota on August 11. Before they pack up their road cases, they will drop the third single from the album, “Charlie Brown,” which goes to radio later this month. They will also appear on the first-ever 90-minute episode of the world’s longest-running live music TV series, “Austin City Limits” . They’ll ring in the new year on the program, which will air on PBS station nationwide on December 31 beginning at 11 p.m. “Coldplay New Year’s Eve: An Austin City Limits Special” can also be viewed on demand on www.pbs.org starting at 11 p.m. ET that evening. If you didn’t get a chance to catch any of Coldplay’s festival appearances earlier this year, singer Chris Martin promises that the new Xyloto songs will fit in with their soaring catalog, but might also feel a bit … different. “It’s definitely a schizophrenic album … it keeps changing sounds,” he told MTV News. “That’s why we called it such a strange thing, Mylo Xyloto . Because we felt like so many people have already made up their minds about us, both good and bad, that we can sort of start again from scratch and try and reflect all the music we listen to and we love.” And while you may not see album guest Rihanna hop up on stage with the band during the outing to sing “Princess of China” , there’s a shot you might see them do their take on her current hit, “We Found Love,” which they covered on BBC Radio 1 recently.
