Michael Clarke Duncan: Hospitalized After Cardiac Arrest! Saved by Omarosa!

Actor Michael Clarke Duncan was hospitalized today following a cardiac arrest, as sources confirm The Green Mile star is in stable condition. Duncan suffered a myocardial infarction early this morning, and his girlfriend Omarosa Manigault performed CPR on him around 2 a.m. The two-time Apprentice contestant was apparently able to successfully resuscitate the baritone actor upon finding him. Duncan has been nominated for an Academy Award and a Golden Globe, and most recently starred in the now-cancelled Fox show, The Finder . The show was a spin-off of the hit Fox show, Bones . We here at THG wish Duncan a full, speedy recovery. This marks the first time we’ve ever been happy Omarosa was around.

Sarah Burke, X-Games Champion Skier, Dead at 29

Sarah Burke, a four-time X-Games champion, has passed away from injuries sustained during a training run last week. She was 29. The Canadian crashed in Park City, Utah on January 10 and, according to reports, fell into cardiac arrest soon after. She was airlifted to a hospital and underwent surgery to repair a tear in a significant artery before being placed in a medically-induced coma on life support. But it was all too much and Burke lost her battle earlier today due to a lack of oxygen to her brain, doctors said. She was surrounded by family and friends when she died and donated her organs and tissues. Sarah is survived her husband of two years, skier Rory Bushfield. “Sarah, in many ways, defines the sport,” said Peter Judge, the CEO of Canada’s freestyle team, prior to her death. “She’s been involved since the very, very early days as one of the first people to bring skis into the pipe. She’s also been very dedicated in trying to define her sport but not define herself by winning. For her, it’s been about making herself the best she can be rather than comparing herself to other people.”

Shannon Price Bashes Haters, Won’t Shut Up About Gary Coleman, is Probably the Worst Person Ever

We realize people grieve in different ways. But for Gary Coleman’s self-proclaimed wife (not actually his wife anymore), that means a non-stop PR tour talking about their “golden” relationship. And selling Gary Coleman death photos . On Good Morning America, Shannon Price said the two were to renew their vows (since they divorced in 2008 after marrying in 2007) in the future. A little convenient, since she was not named in the will Coleman left behind. She did, however, have legal authority to take the star off life support. Her attorney, however, has argued in recent days that the 42-year-old had always intended for his once (and apparently future) wife to be provided for. She’s sure taking that into her own hands. PAY THE PRICE : Shannon’s mug shot from her 2009 domestic abuse arrest. No one suggested she had a role in Gary’s death, but her conduct since then is deplorable . Shannon Price says she has been “plagued by rumors” that she had something to do with his passing, either by pushing him to cause his initial fall, a claim she denies, or that she did not think through pulling the actor off life support. “People can say whatever they want ’cause I know the truth. I would never hurt my husband, ever. I would take my own life before I would harm him.” Maybe so, but that was one nonchalant 911 call . “The doctors advised me that it was grim and, you know, he went into cardiac arrest and the doctors advised me that this was the best thing for him.” She reiterated those comments on Entertainment Tonight , saying she did what was “best for him,” and claiming that “he was already a vegetable.” She also revealed to ET his last words: “He said, “I love you and my head hurts.’ Those were the last he said to me because he was in a lot of pain.” We’re sure he’d approve of her telling the world this to make money. Sick person. Follow the jump for a clip of Price on Good Morning America … Shannon Price Interview

Peter Steele Died From Cardiac Arrest – Quotes From The Late Steele

Type O Negative vocalist Peter Steele is rumored to have died in heart attack early Wednesday.  This rumor was confirmed by fellow bandmate Kenny Hickey. Here are some quotes by the late Steele: * As far as humor goes, I’ve always been a very insecure person and I’ve always wanted to be liked. * Finding fresh song topics can sometimes be quite difficult. * I also like to eat very much, so I like all different types of foods. * I don’t know what to say to that, but I have to agree with Johnny that, yeah, we do touch upon things that most men would rather not admit: That we feel pain, we cry, get sad and sometimes don’t deal well with disappointment. * I don’t really like to play live. I don’t like to be on stage. I feel very self-conscious. * I drink for the effect, because it loosens up the tongue a little bit. * I feel that I’ve grown up a little bit and I’m actually ready to settle down. * I find that different types of music are good for certain activities. * I guess I’ve learned that there’s really no such thing as a bad label, there is only a bad contract. * I like to put on hardcore when I have to clean my apartment, which I hate to do, but it’s motivational. I like old heavy metal when I’m outside working on my car. Music has definite functions for me. * I stay way from that area, and there’s only so many songs you can write about love, sex and death. * I think aerobics are great, of course, but it just bores me out of my mind. * I think anyone who has an opinion, and voices it, will offend someone. * I think I’ve changed a lot as a person. * I used to try to run five miles every other day, which I worked up to and I was doing it, but I was subjected to my own thoughts for forty minutes without any sensory input, and I couldn’t stand what I thought. * I want to stay away from politics, or else I’ll probably end up putting my size fifteen foot into my mouth. * I’m a big fan of the effects of alcohol. * I’ve always been very image prone, along the lines of bands like Black Sabbath and even Devo. * I’ve been told by people that it’s okay to cry but, you know what, it’s been used against me. * If I wasn’t bound to Brooklyn, due to my own personal reasons like taking care of my mother and the fact that this is where the band is based, I would probably move to Iceland. * If they weren’t laughing with me, okay; if they want to laugh at me it’s better than nothing. * Instead of slashing my wrists, I just write a bunch of really crummy songs. * It seems to be that southern Europeans are just more intimate socially, whereas I like a lot of personal space – like, a mile from the nearest person is fine for me. * It’s bad poetry executed by people that can’t sing. That’s my definition of Rap. * Most bands don’t even last fourteen months let alone fourteen years. * One of the things I’ve always personally tried to stress with this band was to have some kind of visual aspect and to be consistent with it – like, not to change. * So I don’t cry anymore, I just beat people up. It’s a lot more fun. * So, I simply switched over to wine because it was not carbonated. * Sometimes, I write ’60s or ’80s style pop songs. * Technically, at this point we’re no longer with the label; we’ve fulfilled our contract. * There’s a lot of things that go on when you’re on tour that cannot be controlled. I’m not even talking about myself, but of course there’s sexual activity and drugs, fighting and language; it is certainly not a place to raise a family. * Well, darkness with humor… I’m not an extremely suicidal or sad person. * Yes, there are times when I get extremely depressed and how I sublimate those feelings is through music. Simon Monjack: Brittany Murphy Didn’t Do Drugs

Despite rumors that have swirled since the death of Brittany Murphy last month, both her husband, Simon Monjack, and her mother Sharon say she did not suffer from mental illness, use drugs or have an eating disorder. “Do you not think anybody would have picked up on this anorexic, mentally deranged person?” Simon Monjack says. “To suggest that is ludicrous.” The pair have spent the last month sequestered in Murphy’s Hollywood home since the actress died of cardiac arrest early Sunday, December 20.

Magazine Tries to Milk Brittany Murphy’s Death

Way to go, In Touch . We’ve seen plenty of ridiculous tabloid covers in our day, and comparatively speaking, this one isn’t as bad as many in terms of flat-out lies. However, referencing Brittany Murphy’s “final interview” as an exclusive when it wasn’t and taking some quotes out of context?
