A pair of wannabe Heisenbergs were reportedly caught operating a meth lab from inside a Cedar Rapids, Iowa Taco Bell earlier today. They've been identified as Christoper Adam Matous – a 31-year-old employee of the restaurant – and Kenneth Duby – Matous' hilariously-named 56-year old accomplice, who we assume was also Matous' high school chemistry teacher. Police were called after Matous and Duby were spotted carrying suspicious items into the restaurant's back entrance late at night. Once inside, officers found the remnants of a meth lab that had apparently been operational for quite some time. Lawyers for the pair could not be reached for contact, but we're assuming they'll defend their clients by pointing out that meth really isn't any more unhealthy than the usual Taco Bell offerings.

Miguel Arteta Heists a Bank The Cedar Rapids director will direct a big screen version of Troy Cook’s comic crime novel 47 Rules of Highly Effective Bank Robbers . The story follows a pair of lovers running from their families, the law and underworld characters as they rob banks across the South, Variety reports .

Sounds like someone forgot to take their meds: A racist, pistol-packing ex-con was gunning for the head of the Anti-Defamation League in New York when cops caught him in Arizona last week, police said. They said Danny Lee Warner, nicknamed “Tombstone” and a leader of the Silent Aryan Warriors during his 10 years in prison in Utah, had been plotting against ADL national director Abraham Foxman. The suspect told his wife he was “going to New York to kill some people,” one source said. He sent her a letter while on the lam in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, saying he was “headed down South to kill some n—ers and Jews until the government gets me — hopefully, I’ll get enough to make it all worth it before I go.” He was charged with a parole violation, gun possession and possession of stolen property. The feds also hit him with ammunition charges. Let’s hope they catch this crazy person, pronto!! Source

If there’s one thing to be said for Cedar Rapids director Miguel Arteta, it’s that he defends his actors. If you come after one of the stars of his films — say, Michael Cera in last year’s criminally underrated Youth in Revolt — you’re going to hear about it, which Movieline did during this interview. The Puerto Rican-born Arteta is also apt to defend is his own bona fides: While he readily admits that he’s not the first person you would think of to direct Cedar Rapids — a film about a fish-out-of-water Midwesterner — he knows what it’s like to be a new person in a strange land.
