John Crist, Christian Comedian/YouTube Star, Addresses Sexual Misconduct Allegations

John Crist, a Christian comedian and popular YouTube personality, has issued a lengthy statement and canceled his tour amid allegations that he to used his celebrity statis to sexually harass and exploit women. Crist didn’t really deny these accusations in his statement, either. The comedian has spoken out a day after a report published by Charisma News detailed claims made by five women against Crist. The outlet writes that “Crist has exploited his Christian reputation and platform to harass, manipulate and exploit young women over the last seven years.” To quote from the report: The allegations include, but are not limited to, individually sexting multiple women during the same time period, initiating sexual relationships with married women and women in committed relationships, offering show tickets in exchange for sexual favors and repeatedly calling these women late at night while drunk. YIKES, huh? Crist has more than 526,000 YouTube subscribers and over 1.3 million combined followers on Instagram and Twitter. In response to the above article, Crist wrote the following to Charisma News: “Over the past number of years, various women have accused me of behavior that has been hurtful to them. “While I am not guilty of everything I’ve been accused of, I confess to being guilty of this — I have treated relationships with women far too casually, in some cases even recklessly.” Crist continued: “My behavior has been destructive and sinful. “I’ve sinned against God, against women and the people who I love the most. I have violated my own Christian beliefs, convictions and values, and have hurt many people in the process. “I am sorry for the hurt and pain I have caused these women and will continue to seek their forgiveness. “I have also hurt the name of Jesus and have sought His forgiveness.” Crist had been scheduled to film a Netflix special, but the company now says that program is on hold. He further revealed in his statement that he has sought professional treatment to help with his “addiction struggles” and added: “Over several recent years, I have privately sought and received regular professional treatment for my sexual sin and addiction struggles.” He didn’t go into much more detail about these struggles and/or what they entail. More from his statement: “I’m committed to getting healing and freedom from my sin and have decided to cancel my remaining tour dates this year and to postpone all future commitments in order to devote all my time and energy on getting healthy spiritually, mentally and physically.” Crist earned a spot on Pollstar’s Top 100 Tours Globally list in 2019, “with over 197,000 tickets sold for his ‘Human Being Tour,’” according to the star’s biography. The 35-year-old comedian was most recently romantically linked to country singer and American Idol alum Lauren Alaina; they split in September. According to Crist’s statement, “Those closest to me — my family, team and close friends — have known about this battle for some time, and now you do too.” And he concluded: I don’t blame anyone but myself. I’m responsible for my actions and I’ve repented and am taking full ownership. I realize it will be difficult for some people to ever forgive me, and I accept that as a result of my bad decisions and actions. My entire career has been lived out on stage, and even though I’ve shared many of my life struggles with my audiences, I’ve lived in constant fear of the darkest parts of my life being exposed publicly. My greatest fear has been that those who have loved and supported me would hate me if they knew everything about me. I now humbly seek forgiveness and mercy and love — not just for me, but for those I’ve hurt along my path. I’m so sorry.

Duane Chapman Admits to Suicidal Impulses After Wife’s Passing

Last month, Duane Chapman honored his late wife with  a heartfelt birthday tribute . Beth would have been 52. But on the Dog’s Most Wanted season finale, Duane’s pain was even more fresh and raw. He even confessed to experiencing suicidal ideation out of his desire to join his beloved in death. “I’m so glad I had her the little time that I did,” Duane “Dog The Bounty Hunter” Chapman confessed to the cameras. His wife, Beth Chapman, had died after a lengthy battle with cancer, but Duane was not ready to let her go. “I’m only been alone as I showered and I had to run out of there without a towel,” he confessed. Duane said that he had done so “because I can’t be alone right now.” He explains that spending time alone with his thoughts leads to some pretty horrifying impulses. “That’s when I start thinking about things,” Duane confesses. “And I start to take a nap,” he adds, referring to another instance in which the reality of Beth’s passing strikes him. “And I reached over to touch something,” Duane describes. “And it was the freakin’ dog.” “I don’t realize yet psychologically that she’s gone and I’ll never ever see her,” Duane admits. He emphasizes that he hasn’t fully processed the loss, saying: “I don’t realize that.” “I just hope I don’t live very much longer without her,” Duane confessed. Oh no. “Because now she made the first step, she’s through the gate,” he says. “She’s paved the way for me.” This is where Duane reveals the exact form of his intrusive thoughts and harmful impulses. “I want to take a goddamn pain pill so bad,” Duane says. “I feel like if I did something to myself right now, and passed away, suicidal,” he adds. Duane continues: “I’d go up to heaven and be like ‘Hi honey,’ and would go, ‘you dumbass why did you do that?’ or would she go ‘wow, you’re here.'” The bounty hunter and reality star continues, clearly feeling conflicted between his love of life and his love for his departed wife. “So am I obligated to do that?” Duane asks, feeling hopeless. There is one piece of good news about his harrowing confession. Within the episode, a family friend reveals that they moved prescription pills to a place where he cannot easily find or access them. Suicidal ideation can be the result of clinical depression, but that is not the only instance in which it arises. Situational depression — that is, when a person has a “reason” to feel hopeless — can lead to suicidal impulses as a response to stress. While clinical depression is treated with long-term medication and therapy, situational depression can require the same treatments for a shorter time. In the mean time, the family friend did exactly the right thing by moving an immediate danger out of Duane’s reach. The good news is that this episode was filmed months ago, and Duane has had this time to cope. He has the support of family and friends, who can spend time with him and keep him occupied with thoughts beyond grief and loss. It is not uncommon for those who believe in some sort of afterlife to feel the urge to join their dearly departed loved one. We hope that Duane continues to cope, emotionally and mentally, with Beth’s passing. View Slideshow: Celebrities Who Died in 2019: In Memoriam

To FREEDOM: Nicki Minaj Is Reportedly Demanding Tracy Chapman Throw Out Lawsuit Over Uncleared Sample

Source: Stephane Cardinale – Corbis / Getty Nicki Minaj Demands Tracy Chapman Throw Out Lawsuit Nicki Minaj is trying to bring her beef with folk singer Tracy Chapman to an end. According to reports from The Blast , Minaj is demanding that the judge throw out Chapman’s lawsuit against her. The rapper is claiming that she did absolutely nothing wrong and does not owe the singer any damages. If you’ll recall, this lawsuit comes following Chapman filed a case against the Queens native for leaking the track “Sorry,” which features an uncleared sample of Chapman’s song “Baby Can I Hold You.” Nicki was very vocal about wanting the song–which features her former love interest Nas–to be on her album Queen , but Chapman continually refused to clear it. Minaj loved that specific record so much that she was considering pushing the entire album back in hopes of coming to some sort of agreement with Chapman–but that never ended up happening. The two parties weren’t able to come to an agreement, which left the record on the cutting room floor–that is, until the song “somehow” got into the hands of Funkmaster Flex, who premiered it without permission or clearance from Chapman. That is what led to Tracy’s lawyers to hit Nicki Minaj with a lawsuit that alleges she’s the one at fault for the radio leak. Tracy Chapman is seeking unspecified damages and an injunction prohibiting Minaj from using her music in the future. Nicki, on the other hand, is arguing that the song was fair use and alleges that Chapman doesn’t even own the copyrights to the sample. She stands firm in her allegations that this case has no merit and is demanding that the entire lawsuit be thrown out.

Beth Chapman Shares First Post-Chemotherapy Selfie, Declares: Cancer Sucks!

Beth Chapman has shared an update on her health with fans. And we really wish it were a more positive one. On Tuesday, the Dog the Bounty Hunter star and wife to husband Duane “Dog” Chapman shared a smiling selfie on Instagram, including with this snapshot multiple hashtag messages, including “stay humble” and “pray.” Specifically, Beth wrote the following: #dogwgna history in the making #dogsmostwanted #cancersucks #stayhumblepray #itsonlyhair. This would seem to imply she’s wearing a wig in the image below, as chemotherapy almost always causes one to lose one’s hair. Beth was first diagnosed with stage II throat cancer in September of 2017. Two months later, she and her famous husband apprised fans of her status, saying the tumor had been totally removed. Tragically, however, the cancer returned the following year, as Beth rushed to the hospital in Los Angeles on November 26 for an emergency surgery to clear a throat blockage that was obstructing her airways. Talking last year about Beth’s initial diagnosis, Dog told Us Weekly how he reacted to the awful news. “I’ve been with her since she was 19, she’s almost 100,” Chapman said/joked, adding: “Every picture I see of us together, I remember where it was. It just makes all those moments that you shared love a lot more real when that could be what you’re left with: just the moments. “It was hard as sh-t.” Beth, meanwhile, spoke to Radar Online after her surgery and blew us away with her attitude. “I’ve stared down the devil more than once in my life but I’ve never faced a real life or death decision,” she told the outlet. “My life has never been easy, and I surely don’t expect it to start now. Still, I’ve never been a victim and I won’t let cancer beat me.” The Chapmans got married in 2006 after 16 years as a couple. Their family starred on the A&E reality series for eight seasons until 2012. Back in November of 2017, A&E also aired a two-hour special titled Dog and Beth: Fight of Their Lives, whch chronicled Beth’s cancer journey As of this writing, we don’t know how much time Beth has remaining. But she plans to make the most of it, both away from the camera and in front of the camera. Both she and Dog will soon return to television on Dog’s Most Wanted, their new show for WGN America. The 10-part series will follow the husband-and-wife duo and their team of bounty hunters (“The Dirty Dozen”) as they hunt the FBI, U.S. Marshals, and State’s Most Wanted Fugitives. We continue to send Beth our best best wishes. View Slideshow: Celebrities Who Beat Cancer

Stop The Domestic Violence: Cincinnati Reds Pitcher Aroldis Chapman Accused Of Choking His Girlfriend, Firing Handgun

Aroldis Chapman Accused Of Choking His Girlfriend A baseball star has been accused of choking his baby’s mother and firing off a gun 8 times within their garage. However, with little to no cooperation from the victim, it’s not looking like charges will be filed… Via People : Cincinnati Reds All-Star pitcher Aroldis Chapman allegedly shoved and choked his girlfriend and then went into the garage of his Davie, Florida, home alone and fired eight rounds with a handgun into a concrete wall, according to a police report obtained by PEOPLE. The alleged incident occurred on Oct. 30 but was first reported on Monday in a Yahoo Sports report. The report states that Chapman, 27, “was involved in a physical altercation with his girlfriend… over information she obtained from his cellphone.” According to the report, Chapman’s girlfriend told cops that he ” ‘choked’ her by placing his hands around her neck, but did not prevent her from breathing at any time.” She also allegedly told them that he pushed her up against a wall and caused her to fall to the floor. Chapman allegedly admitted to cops that during the argument, he left the house and got into the passenger seat of his Land Rover, where he punched the side window with his left hand – his pitching hand – causing a laceration. After that, Chapman allegedly told cops, he locked himself in his garage alone and shot several rounds inside. Police recovered eight shell casings. But once cops needed to press charges, Chapman’s girlfriend changed her tune… No arrests were made in the incident. Investigator Mark Brent wrote: “Due to conflicting stories, lack of cooperation by the victim and witnesses, no physical injuries, and the fact that Mr. Chapman fired his gun in a closed garage with no one present, there is insufficient evidence to charge him with a crime.” Chapman’s girlfriend, who is the mother of his infant child, left the house with police still there, the report states. When Brent asked the girlfriend’s brother to pass along his telephone number, the brother allegedly told Brent that she probably wouldn’t call him, the report states. Interesting. Apparently the MLB is still looking into this one. No word yet on what plans, if any, they have to discipline one of their all-star players over this incident… Getty

Beth Chapman Arrest Warrant Issued Over "Coarse Language"

Dog the Bounty Hunter’s wife Beth Chapman apparently found herself on the other side of the law after a bizarre incident this week in Colorado. While fishing with her husband and kids, a teenager in a car sped past. Chapman yelled at the teen, calling her a tramp, a slut and a whore. Beth then reportedly called 911, alleging that someone who was with the teenage driver was carrying a gun. Police arrived, but the Chapmans had left. However, because it’s illegal to taunt someone with “coarse language” in Colorado, the teenager filed a criminal harassment complaint against Chapman. Police attempted to notify Beth Chapman to pick up the summons, but she reportedly did not show up, at which point they issued an arrest warrant. Yes, Colorado legalized marijuana , but you can’t call someone a tramp. According to news reports, her lawyer has reportedly been in contact with local authorities to arrange the logistics of Dog’s wife turning herself in. We’d watch out if we were these crazy-driving teens.

Dog the Bounty Hunter: Canceled By A&E

Duane “Dog” Chapman will soon return to hunting criminals in relative anonymity. A&E has canceled the Dog’s long-running reality TV show Dog the Bounty Hunter . The series, which wrapped up its eighth season last week, featured the fugitive recovery agent and his family tracking down criminals in Hawaii and Colorado. The show got its start following Chapman’s appearance on Take This Job, where viewers got a peek at unusual professions. One of which he certainly has. Since then, Chapman and A&E have been met controversy more than once. The show was briefly pulled when Dog was caught making racial slurs in 2007. Chapman and his family also recently received a series of death threats , which the FBI is investigating. Maybe a lower profile will be best in that regard. [Photo: WENN.com]
