Derick Dillard on Jim Bob Duggar: He Keeps All the Money and Lets His Kids Starve!

We hate to say we told you so, but — well, we’re about to do exactly that. For months now, rumors of a feud between Jill Duggar and her parents have been circulating non-stop. And earlier this week, we reported that both parties are no longer making much of an effort to conceal their mutual disdain for one another. It all started when the entire Duggar clan went to LA to visit Jinger  — and left Jill at home. (Joy-Anna Duggar didn’t make the trip either, but that’s because she was on an elk hunting trip in Colorado with her husband’s family.) That wasn’t the only recent indication of bad blood, but it’s a pretty major public snub from a family that usually prefers to keep its beefs under wraps. And now, it looks as though Jill’s husband, Derick Dillard, has decided to respond in kind. Way back in March of 2018, a fan on Twitter asked Derick about the rumor that he tried to get TLC to pay for Jill’s hospital bills after she delivered their baby. Now, as we know from the many times that Derick bullied Jazz Jennings on Twitter, the guy is very, very active on the site. But for some reason, he waited until today — 19 months after the question was asked! — to respond to the hospital bill query: “Derick did you ask TLC to pay a hospital bill, if so why?” the fan tweeted last year. “I thought it was fair to ask in negotiating … TLC made lots of money in filming a birth special episode, and they had not offered to pay us anything,” Dillard replied today . “So I thought, at the very least, they could reimburse 5-10K for medical expenses. TLC sure made more than that off of us.”  Now, it seems to us that Jim Bob had slapped a muzzle on Derick and forbidden him to talk about the family’s business relationship with TLC. These days, however, it appears that Derick is fully off the leash. And if that little exchange wasn’t enough to convince you that Der is no longer worried about protecting Jim Bob’s public image, check this out:  “So why does Jim Bob get all the money for the show and doesn’t give any to his children? The actual stars of the show,” the fan followed up, prompting Derick to reply: “I don’t know. You would have to ask him that.” Folks, that’s some serious shade. Sure, it’s not the level of trash talk one typically hears from feuding reality stars, but these are the Duggars we’re talking about. This might be the closest we ever get to to a public declaration of war — and we can’t wait to see hoe Jim Bob responds! Jon Gosselin: Kate is Exploiting Our Kids for Cash!

Reports have said that Kate Gosselin is worried that Jon might expose her toxic parenting on his own show with Hannah and Collin. It turns out that she needn’t have worried. Jon is against his kids appearing on film, and he doesn’t need a reality gig to expose Kate for what she is. Jon says that Kate is violating a court’s decision by having the kids film, all so that she can exploit them for money to fund her lifestyle. In 2018, the Department of Labor declined to grant Kate the permits that she and TLC wanted. Why? Because both the department and a judge concluded that it was not in the best interests of her minor children to film for Kate Plus 8 . And yet Kate and the network continued to film Kate’s (remaining) minor children, both at home and on location in North Carolina. Speaking to TheDailyMailTV , Jon Gosselin unloads his frustrations that his ex is breaking rules about their kids just to rake in more money. “I’m furious,” he expresses. “Absolutely furious.” “[The network] didn’t care,” Jon Gosselin laments. “It’s really upsetting that big businesses and big corporations go do whatever they want, against a parent’s legal right,” he despairs.. “The judge and the guardian ad litem both agreed that it wasn’t in my children’s best interests to be filmed,” Jon points out. A guardian ad litem is appointed by a judge to evaluate a child’s welfare as an outsider who then reports findings to a judge. Jon continues: “but my ex-wife and TLC had other ideas.” “They put profits and ratings ahead of the well-being of my children,” Jon accuses. He continues furiously: “and filmed illegally without work permits.” “They literally don’t care,” Jon says. “They’ll pay the fine.” He hates that “big business will do whatever they want to do because they have the money to pay all the fines.” Any crime or violation that is payable by fine, from parking to filming without a permit, just means legal for rich people . Remember that. “This is all about money,” Jon notes. “This is a fiduciary thing.” He accuses: “This has nothing to do with anything else other than Kate’s lifestyle, not the kids’ lifestyle.” “Go get a job,” he indirectly tells Kate. “Support your own family.” “It’s disgusting,” he bemoans. “My kids work for her lifestyle.” “Kate does nothing,” Jon continues. “Zero. Absolutely nothing.” in September, Jon spoke of how toxic and damaging a household Kate has built for the children still under her “care.” “I do know what [Kate’s] capable of, whether it’s mental or physical [abuse],” Jon stated grimly. The whole world has known for many years that Kate is a monster. Jon points out that Hannah and Collin left a lot behind just to escape. “I have two kids in my house who left a whole pile of money behind,” he noted. “They left fame and money and came to my house,” he emphasized. “They left it all behind.” He also says that, actually, none of his kids really want to be reality stars. “They have all said they have to film because they feel they need to provide a lifestyle for their mother,” Jon revealed. “They don’t want to film,” he claimed. “They said they have to film. That’s heartbreaking.” “Why do my kids need to provide for themselves?” he asks. “They’re kids.” That is an extremely fair question. A lot of terrible parents exploit their children for reality fame. Networks profit from it. One day, laws need to be passed to prevent this sort of thing, be it Gosselins or Duggars or Teen Moms. Jinger Duggar: Planning to Defy Parents By Celebrating Halloween?

Jinger Duggar has developed a well-earned reputation as the most rebellious of all the Duggar daughters. The mother of one lives a pretty tame lifestyle by most standards, but she’s parted with her parents’ views in a number of significant ways. For example,  Jinger’s decision to wear pants in violation of her family’s dress code might receive the most attention, but that’s just one of many ways in which she’s strayed from Jim Bob’s belief system. First, Jinger married Jeremy Vuolo , a man her father openly disapproved of. Recently, Jinger and Jeremy moved to Los Angeles , which again, might not seem like the kind of thing that would create a rift in the family. But LA is a long way from Tontitown, Arkansas in more ways than one. And Jinger’s decision to relocate to a bastion of West Coast liberalism created such a stir that insiders are claiming she’s been disowned by Jim Bob and Michelle . We don’t know if the situation has really gotten that bad, but we do know that Jinger seems less and less concerned with her parents’ arbitrary rules. As we were reminded last week, the Duggars don’t celebrate Halloween . “From the beginning of our marriage, we just kind of felt like we didn’t want to celebrate that holiday. But we enjoy the harvest celebration,” Michelle wrote on her blog. “Our church fellowship has had different celebrations through the years that we’ve been a part of, ones where the children can play games and receive candy and toys and do all kinds of fun things, like a cake walk,” she continued. No real surprise there. After all, if it’s fun, the Duggars are generally opposed to fun of any kind, and day that celebrates devils, witches, and ghosts seem like the sort of thing that would leave Michelle clutching her crucifix. But based on the most recent pic of Jinger’s daughter, Felicity (below), it seems the Vuolos might be more accepting of traditional Halloween celebrations. Jeremy is much more liberal than Jinger’s parents, but the couple still subscribes to a very old school, evangelical belief system. In other words, he’ll be the one to decide if Felicity gets to go trick-or-treating one day. And fans think he just might allow it. “I could see Jeremy going either way on the topic,” one follower commented on Jinger’s pumpkin pic. “I hope she puts Felicity in the most scandalous costume imaginable… I want biker chick,” another remarked. We don’t know about that part — but it does seem like Jinger is bracing her parents for yet another minor act of defiance. Jesus Take The Wheel: Florida Woman Attempted To Kill Children In Car Crash After Believing She Was Cursed

Source: Joe Raedle / Getty A Flordia Mom Allegedly Tried To Kill Her Kids Because She Believed She Was Cursed According to the Ocala Times , a Florida mom is accused of telling her four kids to take off their seatbelts before crashing into a tree. She is now facing four counts of domestic attempted murder. Calicia Williams was allegedly driving erratic before she crashed into a tree after striking a curb and traveling across a grassy median. Members from Ocala Fire Rescue advised officers that none of Williams’ children were wearing seat belts belts during the accident. When officials arrived, Williams was observed making “”spontaneous utterances while her children were being treated by paramedics. People on the scene reported that Williams was traveling at a high rate of speed and had told the children to take off their seatbelts and stretch out their hands. She also reportedly yelled out “The devil can’t hurt you. He only hurts bad people. You have the light of Jesus in you and only Jesus can cure us.” The children sustained injuries consistent with not wearing seatbelts or proper restraints and their condition is unknown. Williams will be transported to the Marion County Jail once released from the hospital.

Joe Giudice: Yup, He’s Off to Italy!

Joe Giudice is on his way to Italy. But the reality star is still holding out hope that it’s just a vacation. Scroll down to see what we mean… Judges have granted Giudice‘s request to be released from ICE custody and move to Italy, which is the country where he was born and where he may be forced to relocate on a permanent basis. But Giudice will continue to appeal his deportation order for as long as possible. “He will be OK,” said Jerard Gonzalez, one of Joe’s immigration attorneys. “I just don’t like having families taken apart like this.” Giudice had previously been denied his original request to be released to the New Jersey home he shares with wife Teresa Giudice and their four daughters:  Gia, 18, Gabriella, 15, Milania, 14, and Audriana, 10. As most Real Housewives of New Jersey fans are likely aware, Joe was sentenced to 41 months in jail for his role in a bankruptcy scheme. Joe and his estranged wife admitted in 2016 to lying to the government about their income and their assets, defrauding the government in the process. A federal judge decreed awhile back that Joe, who never became a United States citizen, must be deported back to Italy because he’s an immigrant who committed a serious crime. After being released from prison, Giudice was taken into custody by immigration officials and was only just now set free — but only if he lives in Italy while his appeals case is heard. The next court date regarding Joe’s appeal is in November. Teresa, for her part, has not yet commented on Joe having to move to Italy while his legal argument goes through the system. She has said on numerous occasions that she will leave her husband regardless of the outcome ; she seems so very over this relationship. Last week, when asked how the family has come together and supported each other, she told E! News: “We just do. I mean, we’ve come a long way and I’m happy I have four beautiful daughters. “They’re strong and I’m happy to have them. I’m their rock, they’re my rock and I’m glad we have each other.” Teresa also wrote a letter to the judge several months ago, pleading to have Joe remain in America. “I cannot bear the thought of my daughters losing their father, I am fearful that it will break them and that I alone will not be able to fix them,” the 47-year-old wrote. She added at the time: “Judge Ellington, this is my greatest fear and it keeps me up at night. The fear that if I lose my husband, I will also lose my children, as they will never ever be the same.” Sounds heartfelt. But, as you can see below, it also looks like Bravo is pretty darn excited to milk this scandal for all it’s worth: View Slideshow: The Real Housewives of New Jersey: Everything We Know About Season 10

Beyoncé Dubs Blue Ivy “A Cultural Icon” In Trademark Battle

Source: Alberto E. Rodriguez / Getty Beyoncé doesn’t play, especially when it comes to ensuring that her children’s names aren’t being used for profit. In court documents posted by The Blast , Beyoncé has upped her claim to the name against Wendy Morales in the trademark battle, stating that her daughter Blue Ivy is a “cultural icon.” “Blue Ivy Carter is a cultural icon who has been described as a ‘mini style star’ and has been celebrated for her ‘fashion moments’ over the years,” the documents states. “Her life and activities are followed extensively by the media and the public.” The documents also point out that while Morales operates under the name Blue Ivy, Queen Bey is attempting to register her daughter’s full name, Blue Ivy Carter , for various business ventures linked to the young icon and that the notion that anyone would confuse the two is asinine. “[Claims] that consumers are likely to be confused between a boutique wedding event planning business and Blue Ivy Carter,” the documents continue. “The daughter of two of the most famous performers in the world is frivolous and should be refused in its entirety.” Beyoncé points out her trademark application is for “Blue Ivy Carter” NOT “Blue Ivy.” The trademark case has been an ongoing battle since Hip-Hop’s royal couple filed to trademark their daughter’s name in 2017, Morales claims that Beyonce and Jay-Z are not intending to actually use the name for business, but instead merely protecting their daughter’s name; while she has been in business utilizing the name before Blue was born. Beyoncé’s claim that Blue is a “cultural icon” comes after Blue earned her first Billboard 100 placement for “Brown Skin Girl,” which she sang with her mother on Beyoncé’s  The Lion King: The Gift album. Blue also attended The Lion King premiere with her mom and appeared in the music video for Beyoncé’s original song in the film, “Spirit.” The case is expected to go to trial.

Chelsea Houska Offers Life-Saving Breastfeeding Advice to Other Moms

Teen Mom 2 fans love Chelsea Houska for more than just her tendency to make great choices . She’s a good person and a good mom. This week, Chelsea got real on Twitter about how difficult and even impossible breastfeeding can be. Fans flocked to her to give sympathy — and to ask for a little advice. And Chelsea had some wise words for her followers. “I’m super proud of myself for nursing Layne for an entire year,” Chelsea announced on Twitter on Tuesday, September 24. “BUT dang…” she expressed. “It does feel good to be able to focus on getting myself back!” “AND she’s sleeping better than ever now,” Chelsea gushed. Her tweet concluded: “lol mamas out there…I feel ya! It ain’t easy!” Breastfeeding works better for some than for others. An entire year can be extremely draining. “7 months in and I’m ready to give up,” a follower confessed, expressing distress. Chelsea saw that tweet and offered a thoughtful reply. “It’s tough!” the Teen Mom 2 star affirmed to the frustrated fan. She admitted: “I definitely had days I wanted to stop!” “Take it day by day,” Chelsea advised. That’s good advice! But Chelsea’s very wise advice did not stop there. “And if you truly feel like you want to be done…then be done!” she counseled. That’s a very good point htat a lot of advice-givers might forget. Chelsea reminded the follower: “Don’t be too hard on yourself!” She’s already gone seven months, after all. Some parents can’t even get started on nursing. It happens. Notably, at least one of Chelsea’s followers believed that she was shading an, ahem, unnamed castmate. But we don’t think so. This was a personal announcement about how accomplished she feels now that she is once again able to go about her day. Remember, breast feeding doesn’t work like normal mealtimes, where you eat a few times a day. Newborns and even older babies might feed a dozen times in a single day — or more. Breastfeeding can be extremely difficult. Mothers who were unable to breastfeed in history had to rely upon other nursing mothers or risk losing their babies. That all changed with the invention of formula, but that too has proven to be controversial. While breastfeeding generlaly provides the best nutrition to a baby, formula can be life-saving for babies. And switching to formula or opting ot not breastfeed at all does not mean that the mother loves her any less than breastfeeding moms. The “right” age to stop breastfeeding can vary wildly. Many babies stop breastfeeding on their own accord. (According to my own mother, I simply “became too busy” to have time for regular feedings, despite having been voracious as a newborn) Other mothers struggle to wean their children. Then there are, and we mean this as nicely as possible, the weird moms. The moms who breastfeed their preschool and kindergarten aged children. Cultural, personal, and biological differences means that no one age is “right” for every family. Good for Chelsea for sharing such positive words with fans. Valedictorian Who Battled Homelessness Starts School At Yale

Link:

A tlanta native Chelesa Fearce is living proof that you can rise above your circumstances and overcome the odds. Despite battling homelessness throughout her high school years, she went on to be named valedictorian of her class, graduated from Spelman College and is now a student at Yale University, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported. Chelesa Fearce was homeless in high school. Now she'll be pursuing a medical degree and PhD at Yale University https://t.co/M0ODG4XT0p #10TV — 10TV.com (@10TV) September 12, 2019 Fearce, 23, is currently pursuing her MD–PhD degree at the Yale School of Medicine; a major step towards her goal of launching a career in psychiatry. Fearce’s journey to the prestigious Ivy League school was no easy feat. While attending Charles R. Drew High School in Riverdale, Georgia she and her family were homeless. She would often go without food and would use the stove lights at motels for her studying sessions. Despite living in those conditions, she earned a 4.5 grade point average and was named valedictorian of her class in 2013. Her academic accomplishments garnered her a full scholarship to Spelman College. After graduating from the historically Black college with a degree in biochemistry, she went on to work for a national health agency and started the next step in her academic journey at Yale last month. Fearce says her experience with homelessness instilled values that she has taken with her throughout every stage of her life. “Homelessness taught me how to work hard, always persevere and never let anything get in my way,” she told the news outlet. “It really helped show my resilience when I applied for college and medical school.” Fearce and her family have been dedicated to paying it forward and helping those in need. There was a scholarship named in her honor for homeless students determined to further their education. Her mother Reenita Shepherd has become the foster parent of four children and is currently serving as a caretaker for a former homeless shelter director. H&M Responds To Criticism Over Young Black Girl’s Ad Appearance, “That’s What We Were Going For.”

Source: SOPA Images / Getty Oh H&M . The Swedish based company is back under fire again after an ad appeared online with a young Black girl’s natural hair looking unkempt. The disheveled ad was blasted by celebrity hairstylist  Vernon François , who shared the photo on Instagram and noted that he sees “situations like this happen time and time again. And it’s got to stop.” “It’s essential that we have a conversation about this photograph from the  @hm_kids campaign,” François wrote. ” Before I begin, I do not have the facts, nor have I seen any statement by #H&M or the team who worked on this. This post is just an assessment based on all my years of seeing situations like this happen time and time again.  And its got to stop. This beautiful young girl’s #kinky hair appears to have had very little to no attention yet all of her counterparts have clearly sat in front of someone who was more than capable of styling other hair textures. My heart breaks imagining yet another girl from my community” View this post on Instagram It’s essential that we have a conversation about this photograph from the @hm_kids campaign.  Before I begin, I do not have the facts, nor have I seen any statement by #H&M or the team who worked on this. This post is just an assessment based on all my years of seeing situations like this happen time and time again.  And its got to stop. This beautiful young girl’s #kinky hair appears to have had very little to no attention yet all of her counterparts have clearly sat in front of someone who was more then capable of styling other hair textures. My heart breaks imagining yet another girl from my community sitting in front of a mirror being ignored by the team around her, left to her own devices because someone didn’t know how to handle her texture. As if that’s not bad enough…. Prior to this campaign appearing this photograph will have been seen and APPROVED by countless ‘professionals'. Lets say conservatively 50 people. It’s breathtaking to me that not one person looked at this shot and had the same reaction that the internet seems to be feeling since the campaign broke.  THAT IS AN ISSUE.  We must do better.  Our girls, our young women deserve better.  Let this be a moment of learning. #Education is key #wehavetodobetter #vernonfrancois #Ignorance #blackgirlmagic #allhairisgoodhair A post shared by Vernon François (@vernonfrancois) on Sep 19, 2019 at 9:33pm PDT Since the outrage, H&M has responded to the backlash but not in a way that you would expect. The discount retail giant revealed that all of the children were photographed the same way and that the idea was to capture them in their natural state after school, which left many to argue that it wasn’t H&M’s fault for the child’s appearance, but the parent’s. “We are aware of the comments regarding one of our models for H&M Kids. We truly believe that all kids should be allowed to be kids. The school-aged kids who model for us come to the photo studio in the afternoon after school and we aim for a natural look which reflects that,” H&M said in a statement to Yahoo . Although the family of the young girl in question has yet to respond, the fact remains that while all of the children in the subsequent ads look tousled, African-Americans have yet to accept and truly embrace 4b and 4c textured hair. Even when you look at our own ads for hair care and promoting the “natural” look, most women chosen have textures that are still very Eurocentric. It’s no secret that women in the natural community have often voiced their disdain over not feeling adequate with their natural textures, due to 3b and 3c being the heavily promoted look-so the question isn’t who’s to blame, it’s are we really being honest about our own feelings regarding textures with tighter coils? As Bustle points out, 4b and 4c hair have long been viewed as the “bad hair grade”, but many had hoped with the explosion of the natural hair movement in the early 2000s that we would rewrite the narrative, but as we can see by our own words during the controversy, we still have a long ways to go. H&M AT IT AGAIN They wrong for that. Where the child mama? I hope she sue them for public humiliation, defamation of character, and discrimination They could had a stylist touch this child hair. Pathetic pic.twitter.com/egxNJza1Sz — Shawda' Love (@Shawdaaaa) September 20, 2019 “There was a period in time that I hated my hair,” Charlene Akuamoah, a stylist said in her interview with the publication . “I thought it was so difficult to manage: It was rough, the curls were too tight, it didn’t look ‘presentable,’ it was always dry, and I felt like I looked better with straight hair. I [thought] that my hair had to be tamed.” Sentiments echoed throughout the complaint of the child’s appearance in the ad. While H&M is undoubtedly tone-deaf regarding race in advertisements, this time the fingers we are pointing should be aimed at the real perpetrators-us. Please people, let’s uplift this little girl! She’s killing her H&M shoots with her natural 4C hair. Lil sis is serving us poses and she looks happy and beautiful #Queenin pic.twitter.com/8z92Gi51rF — insta:msyasmine (@msyasmine_) September 20, 2019 I don't blame h&m, i blame the interwoke folks whos heroes are internet goddesses with 4c buns and TEXTURIZED edges. — ike slimster (@iKeslimster) September 21, 2019 Why y’all keep singling out the one black girl from the H&M ad? ALL the kids’ hairstyles were messed up. How come the other children aren’t getting this backlash? Hair texture got y’all twisting for excuses like pretzels. But anywho- pic.twitter.com/ksludbLayc — Tenille Clarke (@tenilleclarke1) September 20, 2019 There is a little Black girl whose face is floating around the internet who should be celebrating landing a modeling opportunity for H&M right now. Instead she’ll have to see commentary over how her hair should’ve looked better. — Negrita (@HustleAndFro_) September 20, 2019 Hopefully, the reality and exposure of the tainted way we still view our natural selves will help us change the narrative in our own community. Representation matters, especially when you see it loved among the very people you are representing to the world.
