Source: photo: WENN When it was announced that Twilight star Robert Pattinson would be replacing Ben Affleck as the Batman , DC and Warner Bros. immediately saw a backlash from fans who saw this move as a money grab intended to sway Twilight tweens to pack theaters to see Edward Cullen evolve from a teen vampire to a full grown Batman. Though word around the script itself is rumored to center around the classic Batman mini-series The Long Halloween , nothing else has been said about the upcoming Matt Reeves directed film. Until now. According to Variety , fan favorite comedy actor Jonah Hill has been tapped to play the Dark Knight’s antagonist in the upcoming film and though his character continues to be a mystery it is believed that the Superbad actor will either be donning the umbrella and top hat of The Penguin or the cane and question mark etched outfit of The Riddler. While Variety also lists Mr. Freeze as another possible role for Hill, he seems more like a Penguin or Riddler kind of character. Just sayin.’ Regardless of which character he plays his inclusion in The Batman is definitely welcomed by Batman fans and will certainly give us more reason to put down our money at the box office when the Dark Knight swings into theaters sometime in June of 2021. But if Robert Pattinson’s Batman is indeed going to follow the storyline of The Long Halloween , then Jonah Hill won’t be the only villain involved in the film as the classic Jeph Loeb storyline included appearances from a few familiar villains from the Batman universe. Here’s to hoping that DC and Warner Bros. doesn’t screw this one up too and turn Jonah Hill into yet another iteration of the Joker or even worse, Bane. Jonah Hill has been looking particularly pumped these days though so you never know.

Dennis Turner, who is Black, has a history of violent behavior on his record according to several reports. CNN reports : An Orlando elementary school resource officer who arrested two 6-year-olds in two separate incidents was fired Monday, said Orlando Police Chief Orlando Rolon. Rolon said during an afternoon press conference the department was trying to give the officer “at least the benefit” of reviewing paperwork and statements. “It was clear today when I came into work that there was no other remedy than to terminate this officer,” he said. Rolon added that one of his top priorities as the chief of police is “to earn and protect the trust between the community and its officers” and this incident put that trust into question. “On behalf of myself and the Orlando Police Department, I apologize to the children involved and their families,” Rolon said. Police initially said one child was 8 years old, but Rolon said Monday they were both 6 years old. Turner attempted to arrest a six-year-old girl who was having a temper tantrum last week at Lucious and Emma Nixon Academy. The family of the girl claimed that the girl was fingerprinted and had a mugshot taken of her, but Orlando police denied the claim and say the girl was not processed. The other six-year-old, a boy, was reportedly processed through the juvenile system and released to his parents. Chief Rolon made slight mention of Turner’s own issues with his son, whom he allegedly beat after bringing home a bad report card in 1998 when the boy was seven years of age. Turner was arrested but said in an interview with The Sentinel that he felt within rights to administer discipline to his child. Actress Leah Remini shared a heartbreaking post to her Instagram on Sunday, revealing that she had “no idea” her father, George Anthony Remini, had passed away a month ago. According to Remini, she and her family knew nothing about his illness leading up to his death, saying, “A funeral came and went and none of us knew anything about it.” The thought of this is devastating, but Leah is using this opportunity to let people know that the Church of Scientology is completely to blame for this tragic outcome . The King of Queens star dreamed of the day she would get to restore her relationship with her father, but thanks to the most controversial religious movements of our time , that opportunity never came. “On Friday, I received a message from my sister Nicole, who had been contacted by a stranger passing on his condolences for the passing of our father,” Remini wrote, alongside throwback photos with her father. “We had no idea that he died a month ago.” Unfortunately, Leah is dealing with the emotions of what could’ve been and wishes he sought forgiveness before his passing. “He was not able to redeem himself, to ask for forgiveness for his failures and hurts, to become a better man to those of us who couldn’t help but love him,” Remini continued. “If you read my book, you’ll know my father and I had a difficult relationship, but I always forgave him with a daughter’s painfully endless love and hope.” Although Remini didn’t agree or support her father’s beliefs, she “hoped he would one day acknowledge what he did to his children,” she said. “That alone would have been healing in its own way. We never got that, yet I can’t help but grieve. I am angry at myself for crying for someone who didn’t ever cry for me.” “I am angry that I still wanted this man’s love,” she added. “I’m angry that the last chapter in our relationship was dictated by Scientology.” Because of Leah’s successful A&E series Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath , the Church often released videos featuring George Remini, who claimed his daughter did not care about her own family and that she refused to help pay for his cancer treatments. Leah easily blames their later estrangement on the church, saying, “Scientology took my dad in as a pawn against me and likely robbed him of any last ounce of heart that might have been left in him.” “I’m angry that Scientology found his personal weak spots and got him on board not with their beliefs but with their smear campaign against me.” “That was his last presence in my life,” she wrote. And while Remini and her sisters will never be able to forgive Scientology , they would’ve open-heartedly forgiven their father…If he just would have tried. “I would have forgiven him as I always did,” she added. “The little girls inside of my sisters and me will never forgive scientology for taking our last chance to have the one thing we always wanted from our father… And that was for him to say ‘I’m sorry and I loved you.'” Remini’s relationship with her father was so broken that on Father’s Day, in 2018, her message praised her husband for being the “daddy [she] wish [she] had.” Leah, 49, was a member of the church for 35 years before finally removing herself publicly in 2013. Since leaving, she has been one of the most outspoken critics of the organization by writing books and creating her popular docuseries. The Scientology community long tried to discredit Remini’s Emmy-winning series and even tried to stop it from airing. However, the show ended on Remini’s terms, with the two-hour finale airing in August. For Leah’s sake, we’re glad that door has closed. W hen it comes to supporting the youth, it takes a village. After the story of a St. Louis woman who makes 100 lunches for children in her local community every day made headlines, several donors have stepped up to contribute to her initiative, St. Louis Public Radio reported. For five years, Champale Anderson has used her own money to make free snack bags for kids in her St. Louis neighborhood who would otherwise go hungry. She started a GoFundMe with a goal of $1,500. It's raised more than $60,000. After noticing that many of the children in her community were living in poverty and would often go without food, the health care provider decided to take action and launch a project designed to combat hunger. Through her Champ’s Teardrops initiative, she provides students with nutritious bagged lunches and snacks. She has an open-door policy where kids in the community can stop by her home to pick up food. “I noticed the kids they are always hungry. They get off the bus and they take off running and they never know what I will have in the bag. I switch up and have special treats for my special babies,” she told Fox 2 News . “It makes me proud. My goal is to go to different neighborhoods and give out bags.” Since launching a GoFundMe page for her project, Anderson has gone far beyond her $1,500 goal and raised over $65,000. She plans on using the funds to grow her project and continue to make an impact in the lives of children in her community and beyond. Initiatives like Champ’s Tearsdrops are needed as childhood hunger remains an issue in the U.S. According to the nonprofit No Kid Hungry , more than 12 million children in America live in food-insecure households. Further research revealed that 17.9 percent of children under the age of 18 live in homes where there are scarce amounts of food or there is a lack of safe and nutritious food options. Jon Gosselin has once again attacked his ex-wife for being a terrible mother. On its own, such an attack would scarcely be news; Jon has been doing this for about a decade. But the details of this verbal assault are different from his many past ones, most notably because they appear to be backed up by son Collin. The 15-year old was away from his family for many years due to what mother Kate Gosselin would simply refer to as “special needs.” Toward the very end of 2018, Jon took the teenager out of Fairmont Behavioral Health Institute and Collin has been living with his father ever since. For the very first time, meanwhile, we’re now learning about the details behind Collin’s estrangement from his family — and they are quite disturbing. “Dear Dad, I’m not trying to trick you, but I still love you,” Collin wrote in a June 2017 letter obtained by DailyMailTV this week. The letter continues as follows: “I told Mom I want to live with you, she said no. But right? She can’t choose for me. I’m old enough now, I’m YOUR son, not hers. “She was abusive to me after I left your house. I’m sorry. Take this to court because … you’re my dad, my savior.” The message does not explain exactly how Kate was allegedly abusive toward Collin. But the letter was reportedly leaked by Collin’s roommate, and it concluded: “Please help me and let me meet Colleen [Conrad, Jon’s girlfriend]. I’m counting on you to get me out of here. Daddy, I love you. save me. Please come FAST. I love you. Help me. BYE.” Jon himself then spoke to DailyMailTV and took maybe his harshest swipes ever at his ex-wife. Which is saying a ton, considering all the ways Jon has trashed Kate in the past. He said Collin had spent three years “caged” in the special needs institution despite only being diagnosed with ADHD, telling the outlet: “Kate … couldn’t deal with him. He was alone for three and a half years with no parents, all alone. It was inhumane.” After Jon received this troubling letter — written in crayon from his son — he “raised the money to get a lawyer and went through the courts to get joint legal custody” only to have Collin moved to another institution five hours away in Pittsburgh, he explains: “I’d drive out to Pittsburgh to visit him as much as I could and eventually it progressed to overnight stays before he was finally released into my custody.” Over the years, fans certainly noticed that Collin was not included in family photos with his siblings. Any time the subject was raised, Kate would not elaborate beyond the aforementioned description of Collin having “special needs,” saying this to People Magazine in 2016: [There’s] a fairly fluid diagnosis of what those needs are, but he needs to learn certain strategies to help him deal with things. This has been a struggle we’ve had for a very long time, and it’s one I’ve dealt with on my own. She and Jon divorced in 2009 after rising to fame on a TLC reality show that chronicled their lives as the parents of both twins and sextuplets. “It’s time America found out the truth about Kate, she isn’t the person you think she is,” Jon said of the reality star mom, who now has her own reality show titled Kate Plus Date. Jon won temporary custody of Collin in December 2018 after Kate no-showed a hearing to determine the future of her son. She has reportedly severed all ties from Collin , who lives with Jon these days in Pennsylvania. (His sister, Hannah, also lives with her dad, who remains very distant from his other six children.) “I know my children have suffered abuse and I know one day they’re going to tell their own story,’ Jon told DailyMail TV. “And sadly enough, I know what PTSD is. It’s really upsetting.” According to DHS documents seen by DailyMailTV, numerous allegations of suspected child abuse against Kate were investigated. However, the agency ultimately had determined the reports were unfounded due to a lack of evidence. “I think Kate has really poisoned my children’s minds against me,” Jon says of why never talks to three-quarters of his kids, adding: “She’s put stuff in their minds about my personality. I never cheated on my wife, I’m not a monster, I love my children more than anything… “I brought Collin home. He’s a great kid. I want the family unit together, I even want to co-parent.” As for why Jon is finally speaking out now? He signed a 10-year gag order as part of his divorce settlement — and those 10 years are now up. “There’s a lot of stuff I want to dispel, there’s a lot of untruths,” Jon concludes “I have watched my children suffer and I have not been able to say a word. Kate wanted the gag order because she didn’t want me speaking the truth. “I know everything. I lived it with her and without her. So I know every single thing that has transpired and what has been portrayed to the American public, it’s not all true.”
R apper Meek Mill is making an impact beyond music. The Philadelphia-bred hip-hop artist has been dedicated to empowering the youth in his hometown. Weeks after unveiling renovated basketball courts in North Philly Meek—whose real name is Robert Rihmeek Williams —returned to his former elementary school to donate backpacks and school supplies, CBS Philly reported. Blaine Elementary School to provide students with encouraging words and distribute 500 backpacks filled with supplies. This isn’t the first time that he has stepped up to support the youth during the back-to-school season. In the past, he’s hosted several school drives benefiting children in his hometown. Last year, he teamed up with the School District of Philadelphia to donate 6,000 backpacks to underprivileged students. “Growing up in Philly, I’ve watched families struggle to make ends meet and buy basic school supplies for the kids,” he told Billboard in a statement. “Those memories stay with me and that’s why I’m committed to giving back to families in my hometown, putting smiles on kids’ faces and helping them start the school year on the right now with the right supplies.” Williams’ donation comes at a time where many students and teachers at schools throughout the country need support as financial obstacles have prevented them from being able to purchase essential supplies for school. According to the National Center for Children in Poverty , 15 million children throughout the country live in extreme poverty and are unable to afford school supplies. A study conducted by the National Center for Education Statistics revealed that 94 percent of public school teachers have spent some of their own money on school supplies without reimbursement. Barbara Evans made $400,000 as a part-time cast member on Teen Mom last year. In a new interview with Radar Online, the polarizing mother of Jenelle Evans has plenty to say about both her own daughter and also Amber Portwood, but we felt it necessary open with this revealing tidbit. BARBARA EVANS MADE $400,000 FOR ONE SEASON OF TEEN MOM, YOU GUYS. This revelation aside (unless you still need a moment to digest it…), the crux of Barbara’s interview centered on two people and two facts: Her daughter, Jenelle, who was fired by MTV executives this spring after authorities temporarily took away her kids in the wake of David Eason murdering his family’s dog. Portwood, who remains a cast member on Teen Mom OG despite her July 5 arrest for domestic violence. In recently-released audio, we’ve learned over the past few days that Portwood seemingly beat and threatened boyfriend Andrew Glennon on numerous occasions, prompting Barbara to ask a pertinent question: How is she still a Teen Mom star?!? Moreover… how is Amber still a Teen Mom star while Jenelle is not?!? “Why should Jenelle and I lose our money, and why is MTV supporting Amber when Jenelle and I have done nothing wrong?” Barbara asks Radar . “We were on [the show] for 10 years too, and they stopped filming with us.” Adds Barbara, in total consternation: “Why is this fair? Why were we let go, and she wasn’t?” Barbara, of course, has been relevant on Teen Mom for years because she’s been serving as the guardian of Jenelle’s oldest child, Jace. She and Jenelle have had quite the contentious relationship, often arguing over both this custody arrangement and Jenelle’s past drug use, among other ways and reasons why she’s largely considered an unfit mothre. Does Barbara have a point here? Yes and no. Jenelle absolutely should have been fired for both lying about Eason attacking her last fall and then for allowing her children to grow up in a home that also houses such a violent bigoy. No one can argue with a straight face that Jenelle deserves the platform and/or salary afforded to her by MTV. Now… should Portwood also be fired? In light of her arrest and the subsequent information that has come out about this long-time star? Probably, but one really has nothing to do with the other. It’s also worth noting that Portwood almost definitely WILL be fired anyway . This, despite the following hilarious defense of Amber by an anonymous Radar source: “Amber didn’t kill a dog. And she has not been convicted of a crime.” Techically, Jenelle didn’t kill a dog, either. But point taken. Still, in the aforementioned audio recording that leaked late last week, Amber allegedly exploded at Andrew… with their toddler in the room. Hiw crime? Waking her up for an appointment at 2 p.m. “If you don’t pick him up you f-cking fat piece of sh-t I’m going to f-cking stab you,” she says. “Get your fat ass up and get him.” Yeah. Some marriages don’t need the alleged “reality TV curse” to fall apart, but it sure seems to help. Tensions between Emily Simpson and her husband grew worse when he failed the bar exam back in January. Things clearly need to change. But now disturbing, violent details are leaking about Shane’s previous marriage that have fans fearing for Emily’s safety. RadarOnline got their hands on Orange County Superior Court documents dating back to 2008. That was the year of Shane Simpson’s bitter divorce from his ex-wife, Miriam. Unfortunately, their dispute was much more serious than a botched bar exam. Shane was accused of physically, sexually, and emotionally abusing his now ex-wife during their marriage. The allegations are right there in the court documents. In a declaration after filing or divorce, Miriam wrote: “He was physically abusive to me.” “He was sexually abusive to me,” her accusations continued. Those are already just about the most serious accusations that you can level at another human being. She also alleged that Shane was “addicted to prescription medications” during their marriage. Miriam reported that the “stress” had such a detrimental effect upon her health that she felt “near death.” Miriam’s full statement explains that much more clearly. “He used and took prescription medications of others to quell his habit,” Miriam wrote. We think that she means that his hope was to hide his alleged habit from discovery. More personally, Miriam accused: “He made me feel trapped and hopeless.” She said that these feelings came “as a result of excessive control and lack of liberties placed upon me…” “Because of all the aforementioned abuse, stress, and circumstances,” Miriam continued. “I became physically ill.” The allegations that she leveled against Shane in 2008 could certainly cause someone to have numerous physical symptoms. She shared: “after months of diagnostic tests, blood transfusions, and other medical procedures …” “… Not only was I diagnosed with blood disorders caused by stress …” Miriam accused. She revealed: “My body was what seems to be near death and I had no choice but to leave.” Court records do not specify whether Miriam called the police for help or to file a criminal complaint against Shane. But we know, of course, that most abuse victims do not report their abusers. There is a record of Shane’s own declaration filed in the divorce. “In November 2007, Mother [Miriam] went to Utah with our children for the Thanksgiving weekend and never returned to California,” he wrote. “She filed for a dissolution of our marriage,” he noted. “At that time, Mother refused to allow me visitation with our children.” “For approximately one month after she moved to Utah,” he accused. “I did not know where our children were and was not allowed to visit with them.” What may be astonishing is that, these days, Miriam and Shane seem to get along well. They share a 50/50 split of custody of their children. (Shane also has children with Emily, of course) Insiders describe them as amicable. This does not either confirm or deny the allegations against Shane, but … is anyone going to look at him the same way after reading all of that?
