My name is Reiko, and on February 13 2012, I met Justin…

My name is Reiko, and on February 13 2012, I met Justin Bieber. It all started when my two friends, Emily & Angeliesse found out on a school day that Justin was here in NYC. We quickly decided to go to his hotel. It was around 9am when we got there and there was only one other girl. After waiting around half an hour or so, we saw his Escalade come and a few minutes later, Justin came out. We knew we had to keep calm and not go crazy and run to him or jump and freak out, so we walked towards him,  calm .  He was with Selena, and she was already in the car. He took pictures with three girls, then left. While doing this, Justin was getting SUPER annoyed at this one paparazzi who was all up in his face. After Justin went into his car he opened it a few seconds later and told the paps to “Stop it” and the paps just replied  rudely “What?! No!” So Justin opened the door once more and said, “Can you stop it” The paps weren’t respecting Justin’s privacy and kept going at it, so lastly, Justin opens it again and says, “Go away!” As he said this, my friend Emily pushed the paparazzi and said, “JUSTIN SAID TO STOP IT, ALRIGHT!!” and we knew Justin saw this because it was right in front of his side of the window, and although we couldn’t see him from the tinted window, we hope he knows us beliebers got his back! My friend and I was devastated that we didn’t get a picture with him, but we were so glad that Angeliesse did because she went through so much to meet him and finally did. We then decided to wait until Justin came back to the hotel. While waiting, we saw Kenny and we asked, “Can we get a picture with you? We love you!” He was SUCH a nice person, he came up to me, put his arm around me and took a picture. Already meeting Kenny was the best way to start the day. Also, we met Moshe , people know him as white Kenny, and he was so sweet too! He took pictures with everyone, so did Kenny. After we waited for a few hours at around 2:00pm, Justin’s car pulled over and he got out and was talking on the phone. He then quickly waves, and told us, “I’ll be back outside soon” and went into the hotel. We were all then so hyped up, especially how close he was. He was beautiful. After half an hour later, the hotel staff started to put up barricades, there were around 40 people there by that time. Around 3:45pm, he came outside and he went to the other side of the barricades first, and took pictures with everyone. He also asked to take a group photo as well. In the beginning, we didn’t know if Justin was going to come over to this side, so everyone said, “JUSTIN! Please come over here!”. We all got really happy. As he came over, everyone started to ask for pictures with him, so I went up to him. I tapped his arm and asked, “Can I please get a picture with you?” He put his arm around me and then I snapped the picture. Those few seconds of my life was the best thing that has ever happened to me. After a few minutes, he said, “Can everyone please move back a little bit, I’m claustrophobic” and everyone moved back a few steps. As I quickly told him thank you,  I realized that Emily didn’t get her picture yet so I nudged her towards Justin and they got a picture. After Justin took a few pictures with the rest of the girls, he went into his car. Afterwards, all the girls just hugged each other and screamed “OHHH MYY GODD WE JUST MET JUSTIN BIEBER!!”  I made a heart with my hands to the car. Everyone was so greatful for what just happened. Although some people may say that Justin doesn’t care about his fans, he  DEFINITELY does. He didn’t have to come outside and take pictures with us, he could’ve just went into his car and left. He really cares, a lot. I’m going to be honest, I’ve never thought I was going to meet Justin and I did. We have tried so many times to meet Justin, at Dolche and Gabbana, Today Show, and more.  Also, Angeliesse has been through so much while trying to meet Justin (she had to get rushed to the hospital during his Today concert) so I’m really glad she finally got the chance to meet him, you deserve it. This whole experience was amazing. I met new really sweet beliebers and I am just so grateful to have the chance to meet him. Thank you, Justin. – @itsreikooo Read the original here: My name is Reiko, and on February 13 2012, I met Justin…

My name is Kate, I’m 21. My friends Jessica (20), Nicole (21)…

My name is Kate, I’m 21. My friends Jessica (20), Nicole (21) and Shannon (20) all had a recent amazing Bieber experience. We are also very proud to say we are from  CANADA!  It all started off as a depressing day when the news of the “Home for the Holiday” tickets were releasing and going on sale. I was at work and saw the tweet Justin made. I knew tickets would sell out in seconds. We all have been dreaming for months to witness Justin Bieber in concert and on December 19 th  all of our BIG DREAMS came true.  Jessica phoned me at work mentioning she had 4 windows open on her laptop and scored 4 TICKETS! The tears of joy instantly rolled down my face at my Proactive booth when Jessica invited me. I then received quick text’s and tweets from Shannon and Nicole shortly after and found out we were all attending the “Home for the Holidays” concert at Massy Hall on December 21st together. Before heading to the concert, Jessica had an amazing idea to make JB Christmas tye-dye T-shirts. We thought we would be noticed but unfortunately we were not. I’m sure Justin would have loved our tye-dyeing skills.  Finally December 21 st  had arrived and we packed up and headed to Toronto. After arriving at Massy Hall and waiting in the rain for a half hour, we witnessed Justin Bieber and Jazzy Bieber stepping out of the car and entered the Hall! Our emotions and excitement was uncontrollable. The girls and I quickly rushed to our seats and waited until the concert started. After an hour wait, Dan Kanter entered the stage, followed by Justin. The excitement over the crowd was unbelievable . Bieber fans are not like any other fans. They are so dedicated. Personally the concert itself was by far the most amazing concert I have ever been too. It was so intimate and personal. Justin mentioned before performing that  “Massey Hall wanted me to put on this huge performance but I didn’t want to. You are all my family, friends and fans. I want to make it the most memorable night possible”.   Justin sang for 2 hours straight with no break and it was truly the most memorable night possible. Throughout the night jokes, tears, small humour mistakes were made and a quick “hello” from Jazzy Bieber on stage made the night so unforgettable.  I never thought my friends and I would have the chance to express and share our experience about Justin Bieber in concert. To this day, I still think December 21st was a dream. Christmas 2011 will be a time I will remember forever because Justin gave my friends and I the best Christmas present possible. I do hope to meet him in the future and express how grateful I am as a fan to witness him in concert with my friends. I would also mention how amazing he is as a person because of his generous contributions and attitude towards people who need help. There is NO negative perception on Justin. As a human, you are entitled to make mistakes and move on.  People will hate and put others down because it’s easy to do. Nicole, Jessica, Shannon and I adore Justin and will always be fans. We hope to see him again in concert when he arrives back to Ontario. Thank-you Justin for an amazing opportunity, your performance was incredible and life touching. You make us proud to be Canadians. Keep up the hard work, everything you have accomplished in your career you deserve. To all the fans who haven’t witnessed Justin in concert – Keep dreaming BIG and NEVER SAY NEVER. One day your dream will come true and you will have your Bieber experience .. Just like my friends and I– “If you don’t dream big, there’s no use in dreaming. If you don’t have faith, there’s nothing worth believing “- Justin Bieber  -@NicoleSteffens, @_jpratt, @kateenwright,  @shannsig See the article here: My name is Kate, I’m 21. Lil Wayne took time out to diss Jay-Z (again) and Kanye West after celebrating Young Money’s success at Cash Money’s annual pre-Grammy party. After celebrating the success of his label YMCMB with performances, plaque presentations,  announcements ( Christina Milian is now signed to the label) and even a moment of silence for Whitney Houston , Weezy couldn’t help but take a jab at Kanye West and Jay-Z aka Watch the Throne . “I ain’t really got nothing else to say, but uh…I met a bad red bone, I took the b*tch home, I asked her what she want to watch she said surely not the Throne,” spit Weezy, who immediately dropped the mic and walked off the stage as the crowd reacted. This is the second such shot Weezy has taken at Jay-Z. On “It’s Good” from Tha Carter IV Wayne rhymed, “ Talkin’ ’bout baby money, I got your baby money / Kidnap your b*tch, Get that ‘how much you love your lady?’ money. ” The boast was supposedly in retaliation for a jab Jay-Z sent on “H.A.M” where he said “ I’m like really half a billi n*gga, Really you got baby money / Keep it real with n*ggas, N*ggas ‘aint got my lady money. ” Watch Weezy diss The Throne below: RELATED: Jay-Z & Kanye West “N*ggas In Paris” [WORLD PREMIERE] Lil Wayne Shoots Down Engagement Rumors Lil Wayne Fires Back At Luke & Disses DJ Khaled Jay-Z Speaks On Beef With Lil Wayne: “That’s Sport” [VIDEO] Lil Wayne Reportedly Fought NFL Player Dez Bryant At Miami Nightclub Kanye West & Lil Wayne Spend Christmas With The Lakers [PHOTOS] Lil Wayne Explains His Syrup Sipping Habit [VIDEO]

Whitney Houston’s Musical Legacy, By The Numbers

We break down the stunning sales numbers behind the late diva’s record-setting career. By Gil Kaufman Whitney Houston performs at the 1999 Brit Awards Photo: JMEnternational/ RedFerns There had been other explosive young divas before — Aretha Franklin, Tina Turner — but in the 1980s and early 1990s, Whitney Houston seized the spotlight so fast, so early, so young and so forcefully that she set a bar so high singers are still trying to vault it today. The daughter of gospel great Cissy Houston and cousin of “I Say a Little Prayer” singer Dionne Warwick, Houston was discovered as a teenager and burst into the national consciousness in 1985 with her self-titled debut. The seamless mix of wide-screen ballads and dance-floor-worthy anthems spawned such iconic hits as “You Give Good Love,” “Saving All My Love for You,” “The Greatest Love of All” and “How Will I Know.” A radiant breath of fresh air, Houston rode the music-video wave to stardom, scooping up dozens of awards for her smash first album, including two Grammys and an MTV Video Music Award for Best Female Video for “How Will I Know.” Along with Michael Jackson, Houston helped pave the way for a generation of black artists to exploit the video medium to reach a global audience. She did it by spinning off a string of indelible hits in such an joyful manner that her vocal feats of strength appeared effortless. On the eve of the 54th annual Grammy Awards , Houston was found dead Saturday in Los Angeles at age 48. At press time, the cause of death was still unknown. She had last taken the stage Thursday night at a pre-Grammy event on Thursday night. Just hours before the news broke, friend Kelly Price said stories of Houston’s ongoing struggles were exaggerated. CNN reported Saturday night that Jennifer Hudson would participate in a tribute to Houston at Sunday night’s Grammys. Houston died just hours before the start of the annual pre-Grammy party thrown by legendary music impresario Clive Davis, the mogul who signed Houston to Arista Records after seeing her perform in New York clubs in the early 1980s. Though her hitmaking days were long past, Houston’s influence continues today, from the sound of such avowed acolytes as Mariah Carey, Christina Aguilera and Mary J. Blige to an untold number of singers hoping to stake their claim on such reality singing competitions as “American Idol,” “X Factor” and “The Voice.” Houston’s muscular, gospel-tinged vocal gymnastics and her telegenic spark raised the bar to a level today’s singers — from Rihanna to Adele — are still striving to achieve. By the time her career faltered in the 2000s as she struggled with substance abuse , personal drama and vocal issues, Houston had already blazed an unstoppable trail and was ranked by the Guinness Book of World Records as the most celebrated female vocalist of all time, including 26 Grammy nominations and 6 wins, along with sales of more than 170 million albums, singles and videos. Whitney Houston: A Film Fan’s Appreciation

Late singer showed dignity and vulnerability in films like ‘The Bodyguard’ and ‘Waiting to Exhale.’ By Ryan J. Downey Whitney Houston in “Bodyguard” Photo: Warner Bros. Whitney Houston will be remembered for her voice, her hit songs, her charismatic presence. As someone who has spent my life sharing equal passion for music and movies, it’s particularly noteworthy to me that the biggest hit I associate Houston with is intrinsically tied to a film. Judging by the number of “Whitney, I will always love you” tweets from celebrities and fans on Saturday, I’d say I’m not alone in thinking of her big voice mostly in “I Will Always Love You,” which is inseparable from “The Bodyguard.” My late mother was a huge fan of Dolly Parton, who originally wrote and recorded the song that would become a huge hit for Houston on the soundtrack to “The Bodyguard,” in which she starred (years before people ran around saying “meta”!) as a pop singer. The stepmother who came into my life when I was a teenager passed away herself a couple of years ago. The first Christmas present I ever bought for her growing up was a copy of one of Whitney’s albums on cassette, so I experienced a variety of emotions and memories about important women in my life as my Twitter feed blew up with reports of the troubled star’s untimely passing. Nobody knew Houston could act (a bit part on an episode of the corny sitcom “Gimme a Break!” was certainly no barometer) when director Mick Jackson cast her to play Rachel Marron, a singer in need of protection from a stalker, in “The Bodyguard.” Big marquee name Kevin Costner played the title role of an ex-Secret Service agent turned private protector. The two characters, against the odds and against the rule, become more than co-workers as the story unfolds. The movie is cornball, sure, but Houston was quite fun. Lawrence Kasdan, who put his stamp all over my childhood as a writer on “The Empire Strikes Back,” “Raiders of the Lost Ark” and “Return of the Jedi,” reportedly conceived the script in the ’70s as a vehicle for the legendary Steve McQueen and Diana Ross. I was actually at the Grammy Special Merit Awards watching Ross accept a Lifetime Achievement Award when I saw the guy in front of me show his girlfriend a tweet about Whitney Houston’s death, which is how I first learned the news. Perhaps in some roundabout way you could call that my Six Degrees of Kevin Costner with this story. It’s not unusual to look for “signs” and coincidences when we try to process death around us, whether it’s a loved one, acquaintance or a public personality we never knew. “The Bodyguard” had action, romance and behind-the-scenes drama involving the entertainment industry, all of which are some touchtone topics that have followed me in life. I worked part-time in a record store when the movie came out and I vividly remember handling copies of the soundtrack on CD and cassette (remember those?) as patron after patron brought up a copy for me to ring up. The movie, the songs (“I Have Nothing” was no slouch!) and the CD were all intertwined, intermingled, wrapped up together to me. Houston’s performance displayed a certain tenderness combined with an elegant toughness that recalled screen sirens from mid-century. True, she was drawing from some life experience by playing someone so close to her comfort zone. But in 1995, she did it all over again in “Waiting to Exhale” and this time opposite acting heavyweight Angela Bassett (and directed by Forrest Whitaker!). “Exhale” shot straight to #1 at the box office, while Houston’s single from the movie did the same thing on Billboard. Last spring, Bassett did an interview in which she talked about a sequel reuniting the director and stars. Of course, that couldn’t happen now. Too many pop stars, rock idols and rappers trying their hand at acting have made the whole concept a joke to some people. And granted, not every musician who switches gears turns out to have chops (and vice versa in the actors-turned-musician department). But Penny Marshall certainly wouldn’t have put Houston next to Denzel Washington and Gregory Hines in “The Preacher’s Wife” if she’d watched “The Bodyguard” and “Waiting to Exhale” and thought the singer hadn’t pulled off the jobs. The remake of the 1947 film “The Bishop’s Wife” may have included some hokey fantasy elements, but it still became the best-reviewed movie Houston made. Sure, both “Bodyguard” and “Exhale” are “rotten” according to Rotten Tomatoes, which aggregates reviews from major film critics. I’m not going to try to pass either of them off as particularly great films. But “The Bodyguard,” my favorite of the two, is an inoffensive confection that rises above the phrase “guilty pleasure” ever so slightly even after repeated viewings and even after all of this time. There’s no denying Houston’s likability and watchability in all three of her major film roles. She was dignified, strong and yet vulnerable in the sort of way that made you want to sweep her up like Kevin Costner on the movie poster. Houston’s final film, “Sparkle,” is set to be released in August, and indeed, there is nothing the specter of addiction can do to erase her sparkle on the silver screen. We’ll miss you, Whitney. MTV News’ Sway and James Montgomery will be live from the Grammys red carpet this Sunday, February 12 starting at 5 p.m. ET to get reactions from music’s biggest stars on the death of Whitney Houston. Jesse Farrelly, Son of Director Bobby, Dead of Apparent Overdose

Jesse Farrelly, the son of director Bobby Farrelly ( Something About Mary , Hall Pass ), passed away Wednesday night after paramedics arrived at his Costa Mesa apartment and found him unresponsive, authorities report. He was 20 years old. TMZ cites sources who say Jesse was transported to a local hospital and pronounced dead a short time after his body was discovered. He passed away from a suspected overdose, as the coroner has ruled out foul play. In response to the tragedy, the Farrelly family – which includes fellow director Peter, pictured above with Bobby – released a statement that reads: “It is with profound sorrow that we accept the passing of our beloved Jesse following his struggle with addiction. We fully trust that he is now in the hands of our Lord. “We are immeasurably grateful for the abundance of happiness and laughter he brought into our lives, and we will rejoice eternally for all the moments we got to breathe in his wondrous spirit. Kendall and Kylie Jenner Strike a Chic Pose

It’s really only a matter of time before Kendall and Kylie Jenner are on the red carpets of Las Vegas and/or headlining their own reality show. For now, though, the 14-year old and 16-year old are simply following in their sisters’ modeling footsteps, the latest example being a shoot with celebrity photographer Nick Saglimbeni. A rather grown up, chic shoot at that: Kylie Tweeted the photo above last night, as the siblings are going all glam in trendy black dresses and some serious hairdos. Might modeling take the place of college for the twosome? It sounds that way, based on a recent quote from father Bruce Jenner: “If they want to go to college, certainly, I think it’s a good idea. But I’m not the advocate of, ‘You’ve got to go to college!’ I think by the time they graduate from high school, they will probably be in a position to go right to working.” Let’s just hope neither is pitching the same product as their mother any time soon.
