A light week in new releases yielded an opportunity for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 to claim its third consecutive Friday crown, all while The Muppets , Hugo and Arthur Christmas fought for what remains of holiday table scraps. Your Friday Box Office is here.
When we first met this young lady, we would have never pegged her as one to end up with this much ink on her. Since then she’s toured the world with two urban pop-ish groups masterminded by the same man. Can you guess who this is? That is Dawn Richard in the pages of Edge Magazine, getting her flex on now that she’s broken free of Diddy’s chains her first solo album, Golden Hear, is in the works. Of course she geared up for it with the release of her Tell Tale Hear mixtape last year. And she talked to Edge about what that project meant. “I wanted people to literally fall into my heart. And if they could hear each beat of my heart those songs would be the sound. If you took a walk in my heart those songs would be the soundtrack”. That’s the mind of Dawn Richard. She’s discussing her mixtape, A Tell Tale Heart, which went viral earlier this year and proved that she was more than just “that girl from Making the Band”. Y’all might still be calling her that. Or “Dawn from Dirty Money,” which she isn’t anymore (no one will explain exactly what happened), but that’s not stopping Dawn’s hustle. In fact, she just dropped a new Christmas song called “December Sky” for the people… and so that you won’t forget that she can saaaaang, dammit! “A lot of people won’t be able to see their loved ones this Christmas,” says Dawn. “Whether they are serving in Iraq/Iran, in the industry or working a 9 to 5, the truth is a lot of us aren’t able to make it home for the holidays. So this record is for them and anyone else missing their love – the sky and stars are a gift for us both because no matter how far apart we are, we are under the same sky.” Hit the flip to check out “December Sky” and more pics from Dawn’s Edge spread.

Let’s face it: this is Justin Bieber’s world. We merely live in it. The superstar has been everywhere this holiday season, and not solely because some moron named Mariah Yeater sued him for paternity of her son. Bieber has released a Christmas CD and has spent weeks promoting it via talk shows, live performances and official video releases. The latest example of the latter? This duet with Mariah Carey . So it’s only appropriate that Bieber – along with friends Usher and Busta Rhymes – was featured on last night’s tree lighting ceremony at Rockefeller Center in New York City. In 1994, two things happened: Mimi released the Christmas song that will be played in every single store from October to January for centuries to come, and a surrogate Canadian beaver gave birth to Usher’s daughter. Cut to 17 years later, those two things have come together to turn your eardrums into wet coal. To get you excited for tonight’s Victorias Secret Fashion Show and the holidays, some of our favorite angels like Doutzen Kroes , Lily Aldridge and a very confused Adriana Lima adorably fumble the words to the classic Christmas carol in this super cute video. All while wearing silk robes and santa hats and looking ridiculously hot. Obviously. He bought this one, hope he kept his receipt… Ndamukong Suh(notes), the Detroit Lions defensive leader who was ejected from the team’s Thanksgiving game for stomping on the shoulder of a defenseless opponent, was suspended for two games without pay by the NFL on Tuesday. Should he begin serving the suspension immediately, Suh would miss a road game against the New Orleans Saints and a home game versus the Minnesota Vikings. Jay Glazer reports Suh will not have to attend anger management courses as part of the suspension. He is expected to be fined an additional $50,000 by the Lions for being ejected from a game. As Yahoo! Sports’ Dan Wetzel notes, Suh’s absence shouldn’t have too much effect on the team’s playoff chances should he choose to begin serving the suspension this week. The first game against the Saints was already penciled in as a loss, with or without Suh. The Vikings game should be an easy win even if Suh isn’t on the field. It’s the Dec. 18 game in Oakland, the Christmas Eve game against the Chargers and the Week 17 game against a Packers team that may be playing for an undefeated season or could be resting starters for the playoffs that will decide Detroit’s playoff chances. That’s when the team needs him on the field. The two-game suspension fits in line with expectations and is the proper ban for Suh’s dirty maneuvers. Pushing the helmet and stepping on the arm of Evan Dietrich-Smith(notes) wasn’t as egregious as Albert Haynesworth(notes) stepping on the head of Andre Gurode(notes), a move which earned Haynesworth a five-game suspension in 2006. But given Suh’s past fines ($42,500 in his young career) and lawless on-field attitude, it sends the proper message. Much was made of Suh’s comments after the game in which he claimed he was misunderstood, his subsequent retreat from that stance and the call he made three days after the incident to Roger Goodell. I doubt they played as much a role in the suspension as some believe. This isn’t the NBA, where contrition can lead to leniency and defiance to long suspensions (right, Gilbert Arenas?). Goodell sanctions players, coaches and owners for the deeds they do, not what they say about them. Suh deserved his two games and should be thankful its all he got. Do you think that this suspension fair or to harsh?? Source More On Bossip! The birth of Jesus finally makes sense! Jesus was born so that 2000+ years later there could be an Absolutely Fabulous Christmas Special. I wish they would’ve taught me that in catechism. This is the first preview for the special which airs on the BBC around Christmas times. It has absolutely zero Patsy Stone in it, but I guess we’ll take what we can get.
