Represent Represent: African American College Alliance Clothing Is Making A Kickstarter Comeback

We know y’all remember these sweats right? African American College Alliance (AACA Clothing) is a brand hailed for its self-starting youth movement stemming from 1991. Birthed in a period of time where hip-hop was defined by it’s cultural impact and Historical Black Colleges and Universities, AACA rose to the top, quickly garnering attention and support from the most influential artists of all time, including Tupac Shakur, Notorious B.I.G., N.W.A., Snoop Dogg, LL Cool J and more. Their famous hoodies branded with the logo’s of Historically Black Colleges and Universities, including Howard University, North Carolina A&T, Grambling State and Malcolm X College, was a true proponent of the positive youth movement of the 90’s. This brand led to an enrollment explosion in HBCUs from ’91 – ’94. In celebration of their 25th anniversary, AACA Clothing is re-launching the brand via a Kickstarter campaign, giving room for supporters and backers to reignite the youth and take ownership in the start-up of the African-American owned clothing brand. This Kickstarter campaign will offer ultra-contemporary gear including the classic AACA logo’d hoodies, hats and for the first time in 20 years, the AACA sweat suits. The pledge of purchase amount to support the campaign range from $10 to $10,000 and will conclude on April 18th, 2016 at 10:00am. A “Lil Positivity”: Russell Wilson’s “Good Man Brand” Clothing Line Endeavors To Help Inner-City Education

Russell Wilson Founds Charity Clothing Line To Help Aid Inner-City Education Russell Wilson is butt of many a joke these days, from his “cornball brotha” personality to his refusal to smash Ciara’s supple cakes to smithereens, but one thing you can’t knock him for is his community service. The HuffingtonPost is reporting that Russell has started a clothing line that aims to helping kids learn. Gotta respect that, right? Be good. The words are easy to say, but harder to heed. So the 27-year-old NFL star, guided by his strong faith and devotion to inner-city communities, decided it was time to prove that he, too, was living by the motto. That’s where the Good Man Brand came in. With the coolly confident goal of inspiring an entire generation, Russell Wilson is teaming up his Good Man Brand with his Why Not You Foundation to launch something they hope will better lives. Using a business model similar to that of TOMS — a company known for its policy of “buy-one, give-one” — Good Man Brand opens its doors with the promise that for every item sold, it will share its profits with a charity of choice. The “Good Man Brand” is promising that $3 from every purchase will go to charity — and he’s committing now to assisting inner-city education, a cause personally selected by Wilson and his team for the tangible, immediate impact it can have on inner-city children all over the nation. There are no details as to where you’ll be able to purchase Russell’s clothes at this time, but if you happen to see it while you’re shopping for Jordan’s, pick up a shirt or something and help a child in need. Watch Your Back Kylie: Woman Says She Was “Shafted” By Tyga… Rapper Stole Clothing Idea After Promising To Split Profits

Tyga Accused Of Stealing Concept For Clothing Line Poor Tyga can’t catch a break this week . According to TMZ reports: Tyga screwed a woman — not named Kylie — by lying to her, and jacking her concept for a clothing company to the tune of more than a MILLION bucks … or so she claims in a new lawsuit. According to the docs … Tyga and Chuon Guen Lee formed the clothing line Last Kings in January 2013 — and she says Tyga promised to heavily promote the line and get it on shelves in the popular clothing chain, Tilly’s. Lee says none of those things happened, and then Tyga made off with more than half a mil in merch. The real kick in the gut — she says he started another company with another partner, and cleverly named it … Egypt Kings. Needless to say, Lee is not amused by the wordplay. She’s suing Tyga and his new partner for $1.6 mil, plus damages. Tyga’s reps haven’t responded to our calls. Tyga’s reps are probably somewhere washing down mollies and Xanax with absinthe… The guy is a PR nightmare. Underaged girlfriend, ugly split from stripper baby mama, rumors of an affair with a transgender escort, now a lawsuit over his clothing line — not to mention those lawsuits over not paying rent. SMH. Hit the flip to see what Tyga had to say about his predicament. WENN
