Autumn Radtke, Bitcoin Executive, Found Dead in Singapore; Suicide Suspected

Autumn Radtke, an executive with the troubled online currency company Bitcoin, was found dead in her apartment on February 28. She was 28 years old. Radtke – who is being described as the “American CEO” of Bitcoin, despite such a position not technically existing – was discovered inside her Singapore residence, with local authorities awaiting toxicology test results to determine the cause of death.   But she is believed to have taken her own life. Douglas Adams, the chairman of First Meta, confirmed via statement that his colleague has passed away. “The First Meta team is shocked and saddened by the tragic loss of our friend and CEO Autumn Radtke,” Adams said. “Our deepest condolences go out to her family, friends and loved ones. Autumn was an inspiration to all of us and she will be sorely missed.” Radtke worked under Richard Branson at Virgin Charter at 22 years old and also as a freelancer for Apple. She was a native of suburban Milwaukee. The collapse of the major bitcoin exchange Mt. Gox in Tokyo this week has drawn renewed attention to the currency, whose standing in the financial community continues to fall each day. Mt. Gox, once the world’s dominant bitcoin exchange, recently filed for bankruptcy after saying it lost around 850,000 bitcoins, worth $400 million, due to hacking.

John Tavener Dies; British Composer Was 69

Sir John Tavener, one of the leading British composers of the past 50 years and a man whose music drew deeply on spirituality, has died at the age of 69. He died at his home in Child Okeford, Dorset, UK today, having been in poor health for much of his life, including a major heart attack in 2007. Fellow composer John Rutter told BBC Radio 3 that his colleague was one of a kind. Sir John “was absolutely touched by genius at every point.” “He could bring an audience to a deep silence which is a very rare gift,” Rutter said. “He believed that music was for everybody and was a prayer.” In 1992, The Protecting Veil topped the classical charts for several months and in 1997 his Song For Athene was played at the funeral of Princess Diana. His setting of William Blake’s The Lamb and A New Beginning was chosen to see in a new century at the end of 1999 in the Millennium Dome in London. Sir John Tavener first made his name with the avant-garde oratorio The Whale, which was released by The Beatles on their Apple label in 1968. He went on to become one of the few contemporary composers to find wide acclaim beyond the classical world, a feat becoming ever more rare. For his contributions to the genre, he was nominated for the prestigious Mercury Prize twice – in 1992 and 1997 – and was formally knighted in 2000.

NCIS Recap: Ziva Says Goodbye, Tony Lacks For Closure?

Tuesday, on the second episode of NCIS Season 11, Cote de Pablo’s Ziva David made her final appearance in a complex and emotional installment. After a months-long journey, Tony tracked down his longtime love in Israel, only to have her say she needed to leave the team to find herself again. “I have to do this alone,” Ziva explained to her colleague of so many years. “I have to let go of everything, or I will be pulled back to where I started.” NCIS ‘Past, Present & Future’ Recap Cote de Pablo’s exit threw the show for a loop this summer, as NCIS had to wrap up last season’s cliffhanger in an entirely new way to write Ziva out. As a result, her departure didn’t offer much closure, though that was possibly deliberate. Ziva’s goodbye was as open-ended and positive as they come. Remaining in Israel to find herself? Not entirely satisfying, especially for Tony. But also hard to fault the character for after the events of last season. The kiss was wonderful for fans who have yearned for it all these years, but it was immediately followed by Tony and Ziva parting ways at the airport. Bittersweet, mixed emotions there to say the least. It may have been the best way for Ziva to exit, but that didn’t make it any easier or less confusing. Meanwhile, in D.C., Gibbs and the team discover the name of the assassin who tried to kill Tony, while Fornell is assigned to protect a new target. Allegedly, philanthropic millionaire Tomas Mendez is next on the Brotherhood of Doubt’s hit list, and he nearly evades being taken out by a bomb. After months with few leads, Gibbs meets with disgraced Captain Wayne at a diner in hopes that he’ll talk. Then Gibbs is attacked on his way out. Gibbs, being Gibbs, manages to subdue his much bigger and younger attacker and bring him in for questioning, while McGee makes a huge discovery. The various phone calls made by the terrorists originate from a company that Mendez owns – he’s triggering the explosions himself from his phone. Tobias, unaware of Mendez’ complicity and still protecting him, has no idea that a man they are going to see on “business” is another Mendez target. Before Mendez can send the signal, Gibbs shoots and kills him with the sniper rifle seen at the end of last season, clipping Tobias’ rear end in the process. Grey’s Anatomy Season Premiere Recap: Most Intense Episode Ever?

Grey’s Anatomy returned for its 10th season with a two-hour premiere last night, and for fans who have stuck with the show, it was all they could hope for. Make-ups. Break-ups. Lighter moments and tragic ones. And probably the most intense first 15-20 minutes of any episode in Grey’s Anatomy history. Grey’s Anatomy Season 10 Premiere Recap We start off with Bailey, the baby, and everybody fawning over him and his cute parents. That little baby MerDer has the fans swooning from the start. But the levity is short-lived. Callie lets everyone know that Arizona cheated on her, and she is not happy. Richard is missing and Shane is sent to find her. Then tragedy strikes. Shane pawns the task off on Heather, who discovers a semi-conscious Webber, but is electrocuted and dies herself on the spot. Shane ends up finding Heather and Webber, who is alive, but weak and needs surgery. Since he is childless and a widower, they must find his next-of-kin. That would be Meredith Grey. Meredith chose to go through with the operation, despite any misgivings, but Katherine Avery demands they stop, claiming his body can’t handle it. Bailey was adamant that Webber needed surgery. Katherine told Bailey the reason she is so determined is because she told him he was a “drunk.” In the end, it was up to Meredith to decide and she gives it the green light. Webber survives, and Grey’s fans are rewarded for holding out hope. As for Heather, there was no hope. The interns were given the night off and ordered to come up with nice stories to tell their colleague’s mother. Initially, they couldn’t come up with any. They didn’t think they were close. Guilt weighed heavily on Shane, for his obvious, indirect link to her death. Alex tells them that Cristina and Meredith, the only two left from the original Grey’s Anatomy intern class, are his family and that they are the same. Owen and Cristina broke up in the season finale, but they are far from over. They get it on multiple times as a way to “redo” their last time together. Jackson and April are done. For now. He breaks it off, and she accepts Matthew’s proposal, but one gets the sense that it’s not over for them either. Arizona and Callie made for some of the episode’s most heated moments, as Callie moved out and took little Sofia to Derek and Meredith’s house. Callie then refused to let Arizona even see Sofia. Cristina told her such actions are only hurting Sofia in the end. Think Calzona can weather this? Read TV Fanatic’s Grey’s Anatomy review for much more analysis!

Kate Middleton Due Date: Revealed!

Kate Middleton is expecting a royal baby this July, her office confirmed Monday. That’s baby, singular. Rumors of Kate Middleton pregnant with twins? False. “Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted to confirm they are expecting a baby in July ,” read the simple statement. “The Duchess’ condition continues to improve since her stay in hospital last month,” the statement also said, referring to her recent hospitalization. Kate sought treatment in early December for severe morning sickness; the now-infamous Kate Middleton prank call resulted in a nurse’s suicide. A Palace source confirms that Kate is not expecting twins, despite recent speculation. Also, the couple will not be revealing the sex of the baby. A July arrival would allow the baby to share the same birth month as William’s late mother Diana, Princess of Wales, who was born on July 1. Insiders say that the timing of the announcement means they have likely had their scans to show that the pregnancy is going according to plan. There is clear relief around the Palace, especially after her hospitalization, that they have been able to release the news. “Happy days,” said a source. Indeed. We wish them all the best. What should they name the royal heir(ess)? Vote for some potential Kate Middleton baby names below ! Boys :   Albert Arthur Frederick George James Philip Something else!
