Lil Wayne On ‘Stan’ Redo ‘Dear Anne’: ‘I Just Don’t Like It’

Weezy reveals to XXL that the Swizz Beatz collabo was intended for 2008’s Tha Carter III. By Alvin Blanco Lil Wayne and Swizz Beatz in 2007 Photo: Theo Wargo/WireImage Lil Wayne is his own biggest critic. Although the Swizz Beatz-produced “Dear Anne (Stan Part 2)” leaked online weeks ago to generally positive reviews, Lil Tunechi is not particularly fond of the song. Swizz Beatz talked to Mixtape Daily about his collaboration with Weezy last year, mentioning that the song’s beat was originally intended for Eminem . But after Em passed on recording a “Stan 2” for his Recovery album, Weezy recorded the song and Swizz hoped to include it on his upcoming Haute Living album. However, Weezy told XXL that “Dear Anne” is a holdover from his multiplatinum 2008 album. “That was actually a record for Tha Carter III that just leaked,” Wayne told the magazine. “It leaked out, and everybody’s thinking that it’s going on Tha Carter IV ’cause I was actually gonna put it on Tha Carter IV. But I had been listening to it and didn’t like it. I don’t like it ’cause the song, all the verses are old. And me being a perfectionist, I hate going with old verses.” Despite Wayne’s trepidation, some heads in his YMCMB camp think the song should be a go. “Mack and Tez and them, they love it,” Wayne said, referring to Young Money president/artist Mack Maine and his manager Cortez Bryant, respectively. “They be like, ‘Man, you trippin’, you killed it.’ I be like, ‘Did you hear what I just said? I don’t wanna do that anymore.’ But I heard that the ‘Anne’ song has been getting buzzed up and everybody’s buzzin’ about it, so it might end up one of those you might have to put on the album, you know what I mean. But I ain’t trippin’ on it like that; I don’t like the song. I love the beat; I love the idea. I don’t like my execution. I don’t like what I did. I don’t like how I delivered on it. The idea that I had for it, I didn’t accomplish that, what I thought I was gonna do. ‘Cause I was tryna make it a situation song. And I just don’t like it.” Wayne may have to decide whether “Dear Anne” makes the cut sooner than later. Reportedly, the “How to Love” rapper’s long-delayed Tha Carter IV ‘s release date has been moved up by a week to August 22. Lil Wayne is on the cover of XXL magazine’s July/August 2011 issue, hitting newsstands July 12. What do you think of “Anne”? Share your thoughts in the comments! Related Artists Lil Wayne

‘Glee’ Stars Chris Colfer, Darren Criss Have High Hopes For Klaine

‘I did not eat the onions and the Chinese food,’ Colfer says of preparing to shoot their big kiss. By Kara Warner Chris Colfer Photo: MTV News This week’s episode of “Glee” was jam-packed with an intense singing competition, original songs and a major surprise: Kurt (Chris Colfer) and Blaine (Darren Criss) shared their first big kiss! MTV News was lucky enough to catch up with the two scene-stealers at Wednesday night’s PaleyFest panel for “Glee,” where we asked Colfer and Criss to give us a few details about the big scene. “I had a Wisp (a single-use mini toothbrush) and some Chapstick and that’s about it,” Colfer revealed about his prep work. “I did not eat the onions and the Chinese food that they brought to set that day as a courtesy, but that’s about it.” Colfer also joked that his scene partner Criss did not extend him the same courtesy. “He did not, no. The boy likes Doritos and tuna, let me tell ya. No, I’m kidding,” he said. Criss, who joined the cast as a series regular this season, described the kiss as a beautiful moment. “I really enjoyed it, because we’ve all been waiting for it,” he said. “I’ve been waiting for it, and like I’ve said, the groundwork was laid down so perfectly that on the day, it felt very natural,” he explained. “I was just so happy, it was like a release. Finally, we got [it]. It was building for so long, so I think the excitement that the fans felt was definitely felt in that room. It was very special.” Regarding the future of their characters’ relationship, both Colfer and Criss are optimistic. “I would love it to be a fantastic example,” said Colfer. “Because often gay relationships in television aren’t the most [realistic], except for Scotty and Kevin on ‘Brothers and Sisters’ — that’s a great one to look up to. So, I would love for them to be the next Scotty and Kevin.” “I hope they stay together,” Criss said. “I hope it develops in good ways, and I hope they can continue to learn from each other and, who knows? I’m just as excited as everyone else.” Related Videos Musical ‘Glee-Caps’ Of Season Two

While Tha Carter IV isn’t expected to hit stores anytime soon, Cortez Bryant, who also serves as CEO of Young Money, said that fans should be able to check out a new Weezy EP by the fall. “I’m putting out a [Wayne EP] called I’m Not a Human Being and I’ll probably drop it on his birthday, September 27,” Bryant told Vibe.com. Bryant said the EP won’t have the fanfare of a high-profile major-label release and revealed that he’s opting instead for a more low-key way to get the music to the masses. “We’re not about to roll out no three-month setup. I’m not even putting it out in stores,” said Bryant. “We just gonna put it out virally and maybe package it up for Christmas. Give ’em a hard copy later for fan appreciation,” Bryant said of the release, which is billed as a prelude to Tha Carter IV. Wayne is approximately halfway through his yearlong sentence and may be released early on good behavior. While the Human Being EP may satisfy fans until the star is back on the scene, Weezy prot
