Castle Season 7 Episode 23 Recap: How It All Began

We dealt with Rick’s past and Kate’s future on  Castle Season 7 Episode 23 . The finale of this ABC hit focused a surprising amount on a Case of the Week, but only because it related significantly to what made Rick Castle into the murder-obsessed man he is today. Watch Castle Season 7 Episode 23 Online We opened with a woman named Emma being hit and killed by a truck after being chased through the woods. Crosses were carved on to her face and this brought back a childhood memory for Castle, even more so after learning of how a masked man in black was after Emma. This description matched that of a killer Rick had come across as an 11-year old. But he was never sure what he had actually witnessed back in the day in Hollander’s Woods. “I need to end this,” Castle declared after realizing the culprit had been targeting women for decades. Beckett assists Castle and digs up some farmland that a psychologist (whose voice stirred something inside Rick) named Dr. Holtzman inherited. It happens to be located near where Emma was run down. Our favorite crime-fighting duo goes there… Castle enters the barn… and he finds the car, the mask and photos of ritualistically carved women. This is totally the killer. A fight ensues, Beckett slips Castle her gun and Castle fires away into the shrink’s belly. Dead. View Slideshow: 11 Terrible TV Finales The finale concludes at a gala where Michael Connelly presents the Poe’s Pen Career Achievement Award to Castle. He gets up there and thanks all his loved ones, including Beckett. “This is because of you, because of us,” he says to her. “ Always .” Oh, and did we mention that an offer has been made to Beckett about running for New York State Senate?!? Watch Castle online to see guest star Lance Reddick make it and then sound off: Should Beckett accept? Is she a politician or cop? And can one somehow be both?

Mad Men Season 7 Episode 13 Recap: Milk and Honey

Sunday on Mad Men Season 7 Episode 13 , Pete was blindsided by a friend, while Don battled insomnia and Henry planned a family reunion. How did all of the aforementioned storylines and more play out on the penultimate installment of the iconic AMC series? Let’s break it down … Watch Mad Men Season 7 Episode 13 Online As expected, in the second to last episode of the Mad Men series, things aren’t looking good.  Well, unless you are Pete. Pete, who has been a prickly, unlikable character for most of the series, might be the only character who lucks out before the series finale. On his way into his new office at McCann, Pete has a surprise visit from Duck.  Duck and Pete exchange formalities before getting into Duck’s shady business proposal. Duck—needing money since resigning from Sterling Cooper after organizing a backdoor merger with Puttnam, Powell, and Lowe—asks Peter to meet with private aviation company, Learjet. Learjet, according to Duck, is in need of a senior marketing executive.  He doesn’t necessarily think Pete will take the job.  But he wants to prove to Learjet that they need an ad exec and provide the company with a top candidate. Duck seems anxious and untrustworthy as he barges into Peter’s office.  A former alcoholic, he heads straight to Peter’s alcohol stash and makes a drink.  And he claims, if Pete will do this he will make enough to get through winter. It looks like things aren’t going so well for Duck, and he’d do anything to make a buck.  But in any case, at minimum, Duck can prove they need an advertising exec, and Pete can put in a word for McCann.  Win-win? If Pete has proven one thing throughout the series it is that he cares about upward mobility in his profession.  He might throw anyone under the bus, but he does care about his job. So, initially hesitant, Pete refuses.  If fact, he appears to have settled into his new role at McCann.  But after some persuasion, Pete gives in to his old friend. What Pete didn’t see coming was that this ploy would reunite him with his ex-wife, Trudy, After meeting with Learjet and going through dinner/interview process, Pete lands the job, and he wants it. He comes to Trudy’s house at 4a.m. and begs her to move to Wichita where he is starting his new job.  Trudy responds to his plea with a passionate kiss. Of all the characters to have a happy ending, it is surprising that it is Pete.  His behavior throughout the season, at best, has been repulsive.  His cutthroat and often secretive behavior (think fathering a child with Peggy) has branded him an unlikable character. It is frustrating that Pete is the one with a happy ending.  But really, in some ways it makes the most sense. Pete might be the only character who consistently sees a better future.  Of course, Peggy and Joan believe this, but the cultural climate is too full of limitations for women. When Pete meets with his brother, Pete says, “You are always looking for something better.”  But so is Pete.  Although his behavior is often self-indulgent, it is because he believes his life and career have more to offer.   His hopefulness is shrouded in his own ego.  Still, outside of Peggy and Joan, he might be the only character with true hope and a vision for the future—even if it is a little cocky. While the rest of the characters have been living in stasis within their own misery, Pete sees the future as flexible and changeable. So maybe it is not so surprising after all that he might be the only character—so far—who will have a happy and new ending.  We just wish it was someone with more character and integrity like Peggy or Joan. View Slideshow: 9 Memorable Mad Men Moments Betty may have seen hope for the future when she decided to go to graduate school.  However, her future is cut short when she finds out she has advanced, terminal lung cancer. After falling up a flight a steps at school, an x-ray for a broken rib shows she has lung cancer that has spread and metastasized to the bone. Betty handles this like she handles everything else.  Emotionlessly and coldly. When Henry brings Sally home from boarding school to convince her mother to undergo treatment, Betty angrily walks past Sally without saying hello.  Like usual, Betty doesn’t want to talk about it. Later, Betty wakes Sally to talk.  Sally tells her mother that the news of her cancer scared her.  Betty responds, “It shouldn’t have scared you.”  She continues, “Sally, I’ve learned to believe people when they tell you it’s over.  To know when to move on.” Unlike Pete, Betty is not a fighter.  She can’t envision a better future. Most of her endeavors ended against her will or desire.  Her life has been full of short successes followed by enormous letdowns, such as her modeling career and first marriage.   Everyone has always told Betty “it’s over.”  And she has always moved on without resistance. Betty never learned to fight.  Betty has consistently allowed everyone to make choices for her.  Now, in a time where she has to take action to survive, she won’t. Sally is put in a terrible position as a young woman.  She is already expected to act like the adult of the family.  For instance, she comforts Henry as he sobs about Betty’s prognosis. And she takes care of her little brothers while Henry and Betty fight. When Betty gives Sally a letter with directions for what to do after she dies, Sally is forced into a mature responsibility again.  This leaves us with a version of Sally that is thrust into adulthood under terrible circumstances. Her transformation at boarding school leaves us hoping Sally has a bright future.  But Betty (and Don) have set Sally up for a challenging transition into adulthood. On Mad Men Season 7 Episode 12 , Don left a Wednesday meeting and didn’t come back. We meet Don again; this time in Kansas.  After being duped into going to a fundraiser for a man who burned down his kitchen, Don is the victim of a con artist. Andy, an employee of the hotel he is staying at, stole the fundraiser money and made it look like Don was the culprit. So what does Don do?  He gives Andy a ride.  When he is about drop Andy off at the bus stop, Don changes his mind.  He gets out and gives Andy the car. We are left with Don sitting alone at a bus stop. It is unclear where Don is going.  But if I were a betting lady, I’d say he isn’t headed back to New York. What did you think of the episode? American Idol Season 14 Episode 11: Group Day Drama

Group round continues on American Idol Season 14 Episode 11! The judges are separating the men from the crybabies in hopes that we’ll arrive at the best Top 24 we’ve ever seen.  That’s not likely to happen since we’ve been doing this for FOURTEEN YEARS now, but hey, it’ll probably be better than the crop from the Nicki-Mariah season so there’s that. Here’s hoping no one faints tonight. Harry says they look at group round as how the contestants get back up when they get knocked down, so the takeaway there is that they’re expecting people to suck.  Good to know. Alexis gets the all clear from the paramedics and Sal’s Gals take the stage once again. Sal starts the number off and then Alexis comes in with a bit of a park and bark. Then everyone sings in unison and Jax, up until this point incredibly talented, gets a little weird. That weirdness might work out for her though since at least two members of the group didn’t stand out at all. Alexis and Kelly step forward. Kelly steps back. Jax steps forward. Alexis and Jax are moving on. Single mom Kelly, Sal, and that other girl whose name no one knows go home. Emily Brooke has food poisoning. She’s been vomiting, but thankfully the producers aren’t showing us that this year. Her group members are freaking a little and retooling their number in case she can’t perform. But she DOES perform and her group sounds great when they sing “With a Little Help From My Friends.” They’re all moving on to the next round. The next group taking the stage, Boulevard, all went to college together at Belmont University. Cody Fry kicks off their Kelly Clarkson number and Rayvon Owen takes the next part. The girls come in on the chorus and Piper Jones  definitely  does a park and bark. Rayvon takes a risk with a note he’s never hit and just barely makes it. But he makes it.  They were Harry’s favorite group of the day and all four of them are headed on to another round. Team Yep is one girl and three guys and they are just terrible together so they’re all going home. One of the guys says he’s a solo artist and it’s unfair to force them into groups when he knows he’s not a group singer. AGREED, dude whose name I don’t know. The next group, an all girls group, is full of giant personalities, one of whom says it doesn’t matter how they sound as a group. What matters is how they sound as individuals. Point, missed. Adanna Duru kicks them off. Cindy Maslov, Denise Natoli, and Camille Peruto also kick in with “I Want You Back.” Keith says Vital Signs should have picked a song that played to their strengths. Cindy and Adanna move on. Denise and Camille go home. Daniel, Qaasim, Trevor, and Savion names themselves LKYCO, for Ladies Keep Your Clothes On (Please). These boys are great together, but Savion’s the standout, at least until Trevor starts beatboxing. Daniel is a little out of his element, but he’s just so damn cute I want to pinch him. Jennifer delivers the news that all of them are moving forward to the next solo round. GOOD CALL, judges! Good call. Hollywood Anderson made the rounds macking on the ladies instead of sleeping or practicing, so his group is pretty frustrated with him. Team No Sleep kicks him out of the captain’s seat and Laurel takes over and starts bossing her group members around.  Up on the stage, Loren Lott and Alexis Gomez are leaving it all on the stage. So is Quintin Alexander. They’ll all live to sing another day. Team No Sleep, however, is a little scared. Hollywood starts them off and Laurel Taunton botches her part. Amber Kelechi seems pretty solid but, like Keith says, it wasn’t too cohesive. Hollywood and Monica, a beatboxer, move on, but Laurel doesn’t and then she blames it on her group members not wanting it enough.  Lovey James, Jess Lamb, Kory Wheeler, and Carla Davis remix a doowop version of Megan Trainor’s “All About That Bass.” Harry looks perplexed and slightly on the verge of vomiting. Keith calls them exceptional singers before asking Kory and Carla to step forward so he can send them home.  Team Rocky’s Crew still don’t have their performance down. Rocky and Richard don’t work well together. Tanya Mackenna looks amazing and sounds great. Rocky has a voice like butter. The trouble is they picked a song with about five lyrics. When the judges ask who picked the song, Rocky points to Richard as the culprit. Jennifer sends Tanya on and the boys home. Poor Rocky.  DRAMA! Heatherle Spires tried to quit her group after getting her feels hurt by Adrianna Simon. That was a dumb move because these girls are great together on “Grenade.” Sarina-Joi Crowe, an Idol veteran, definitely emotes as she sings. Heatherle gets cut while her groupmates move on. Mark Andrew, Vanessa Andrea, Katherine Winston, and Alex Shier sound pretty fantastic together and seem to have gelled tremendously during their rehearsals. Alex, Mark, and Katherine move on. Vanessa’s going home. For the 3849th time tonight, a group is singing “Grenade.” Maddie Walker’s probably the only one whose face I recognize. She makes it through, along with two other members of her group. As the day draws to a close in Hollywood, Garrett’s girls take the stage. Garrett Miles is great and the girls look like they have a good time singing with him. Somehow, the girls go on and Garrett goes home. Or maybe the girls didn’t make it either. That was a really confusing judges’ decision. To close the night, the Violent Vixens get ready to take the stage, but one of them misses the bus from the hotel to the theatre. She arrives in time to sing and they sing “Somebody To Love.” Glee bells are ringing in my head. Joey Cook, the squeezebox player, forgets her lyrics and then riffs her way right back into the song. Shannon Berthiaume just lets it blow when it’s her turn to sing. Naomi Tatsuoka hits a great high note. The girl in purple is sort of a wet blanket.  They’re all making it. Tomorrow night those who remain will head into another round of solo auditions and we’ll be here recapping it all.

Taylor Swift Talks Death Threats, Stalker Fans in Dark Interview

As anyone who’s listened to Taylor Swift’s “Welcome to New York” knows, the former breakup balladeer is rocking a more upbeat, poppy sound these days, but that doesn’t mean all is bright and sunny in Swifty Land. Taylor sat down for an interview with Esquire recently and she unexpectedly opened up about the dark (and occasionally scary) side of having millions of adoring fans.  “I fought the idea of having security for a very long time, because I really value normalcy,” Swift says. “I like being able to take a drive by myself. Haven’t done that in six years.” “They have to be in a car behind me. Because just the sheer number of men we have in a file who have showed at my house, showed up at my mom’s house, threatened to either kill me, kidnap me, or marry me.” Needless to say, there’s a terrifying side to being one of the world’s most popular artists. Too bad she can’t just give these creeps the old, ” No, it’s Becky ,” excuse and be on her way. “This is the strange, sad part of my life that I try not to think about,” Taylor added. “I try to be lighthearted about it, because I don’t want to be scared.” Suddenly we have a new appreciation for why Taylor named her cat Olivia Benson .  Who could be afraid when you have NYC’s most badass crimefighter purring at your feet? Taylor Swift and Cats: A Perfect Pairing 1. Taylor Swift and Olivia Benson Taylor and the newest addition to her cat family. Olivia is named for Mariska Hargitay’s character on Law & Order: SVU.

Kris Jenner on Bruce Jenner Dating Rumors: I Hope He’s Doing His Thing!

So much for Kris Jenner crying herself to sleep every night. According to multiple reports over the weekend, Bruce Jenner is dating  Ronda Kamihira , the long-time personal assistant and closest friends of his estranged wife. A follow-up rumor then alleged that Kris Jenner is agony over this betrayal, but the reality star called in to Ryan Seacrest’s KIIS FM today and didn’t sound especially distraught. I hope he’s doing his thing and having a good time.” Aside from chatter of Bruce dating her BFF, there’s also been talking that Bruce Jenner wants a sex change . In a separate chat with Entertainment Weekly earlier in the week, Kris wouldn’t exactly shoot down this possibility. “I don’t know what he’s going through right now,” she said. “I think he’s just very happy and I think every time he makes a change in his life whether it’s emotional or physical or whatever he’s doing, somebody’s going to comment.” Well, yeah. Joe Giudice on Alcoholism: I Might Have a Little Problem

Last night, Bravo aired the first half of Joe and Teresa Giudice’s post-sentencing interview with Andy Cohen. Teresa Giudice Reacts to Prison Sentence On Thursday, the network that made the Giudices famous will feature the second half of their extended sit-down with Cohen, and given the slate of topics to be discussed, round 2 might leave the Giudices looking worse than ever. For one thing, Andy will reportedly confront Teresa about her claims that The Real Housewives of New Jersey is scripted, and edited to make her look bad. (We’re guessing AC wasn’t too thrilled with that statement.) But what we’re really looking forward to is the discussion about Joe Giudice’s alcoholism. As you may know, Joe’s lawyers requested that he be sent to a rehab facility to treat his alcohol addiction, rather than to prison. The judge, predictably, was having none of that, and Giudice was sentenced to 41 months behind bars. So why, then, when asked by Cohen if he he’s an alcoholic, does Joe simply shrug and say, “I might have a little problem; I’m not gonna lie.” Well, Joe, you either lied in the interview or you lied in court, because just last week you told a judge so you were such a heavy boozer that you required immediate in-patient rehab. Catch the whole interview Thursday at 9 pm on Bravo, and watch The Real Housewives of New Jersey online anytime at TV Fanatic. 13 Classic Teresa Giudice Moments 1. Teresa Giudice: Table Flipping And now for the classic. Teresa’s face is priceless as she famously flips the table. Bravo. Bravo.

Gabrielle Union Nude Photos Hacked, Leaked; Actress to Contact FBI Over "Hate Crime"

Gabrielle Union has unfortunately taken her place in The Fappening. A day after Kim Kardashian nude photos hit the Internet – along with X-rated meant-to-be-private shots of Hope Solo, Vanessa Hudgens and Hayden Panetierre – the Being Mary Jane star has also been victimized by this elusive Hollywood hacker. Topless images of Union were posted to Reddit and 4chan, much to the disgust of the actress and her new husband Dwyane Wade. “It has come to our attention that our private moments, that were shared and deleted solely between my husband and myself, have been leaked by some vultures,” Union said in a statement. The angry star added: “I can’t help but to be reminded that since the dawn of time women and children, specifically women of color, have been victimized, and the power over their own bodies taken from them. These atrocities against women and children continue worldwide.” Insiders confirm to TMZ that Union plans to contact the FBI over the hacking, even though that agency is already supposed to be investigating the incident(s) and tracking down the culprit. “For anyone out there also being affected by these and other hacking and hate crimes – We send our love, support and prayers.  We have done nothing wrong,” Union and Wade said. Other recent victims of The Fappening include Emily Ratajkowski, Jenny McCarthy, Kate Bosworth and Lake Bell. There are also reports of new Jennifer Lawrence nude photos out there, but we will not publish them here. The Fappening: 11 Lessons We Learned From the Nude Photo Scandal 1.
