Coca-Cola Recycles Super Bowl Ad From 2014 to Troll Trump

Coca-Cola coughed up the cash for two ads during the Super Bowl, but its pre-game spot was one of the most talked-about and controversial. Same was true in 2014 when it first aired! The beverage giant aired a re-run of the spot it ran February 2, 2014, when the Seattle Seahawks drubbed the Denver Broncos 43-8. Last night, if the poignant pre-game  Coca-Cola Super Bowl ad , fittingly titled, “It's Beautiful” felt familiar, that's because it was … identical. It features a cast of diverse people singing “America The Beautiful,” first in English, but also languages like Hindi, Arabic, and Tagalog. The ad is designed to portray the multi-cultural make-up of the U.S., and given the current political climate, carried special significance. It's hard not to see the recycled ad as a protest of the nascent presidency of Donald J. Trump and his nationalist, “America first” agenda. Not surprisingly, it is even more polarizing now than it was then – which was pretty polarizing even in relatively quaint, peaceful 2014. Last time the spot aired, a bunch of people hated it, taking to social media to air their grievances against the brand (see gallery below). “One simply does NOT sing America the Beautiful in ANY language but English! Get on board or OUT!” one Facebook user posted. Coke's FB page was, and is, transforming into a wall of conservative protest … the U.S. president knows something about those apparently. The pointless hashtag #BoycottCoke has resurfaced as well. Meanwhile, supporters of the brand and its message have been equally vocal praising the ad, along with some notably similar others. Combined with the 84 Lumber Super Bowl ad , the Airbnb Super Bowl commercial and others, the theme of Sunday night was consistent. Check out the 2014/2017 Coke spot below:

The Kaepernick Effect: Broncos Baller Brandon Marshall Sits Out The National Anthem During Season Kickoff Game

Broncos’ Brandon Marshall Takes A Knee For National Anthem Colin Kaeperinick’s influence is resonating throughout the sports world. After Eric Reid and Jeremy Lane joined Kaepernick on one knee during the national anthem…one of Kaep’s former classmates is kneeling in support of the movement as well. Via NFL.com : Denver Broncos linebacker Brandon Marshall took a knee during the singing of the national anthem prior to the start of Thursday’s season opener against the Carolina Panthers. Marshall is the third player to not stand during the national anthem since San Francisco 49ers quarterback revealed last month that he was not standing during the anthem to protest social injustice against African-Americans and other minorities in the United States. Niners teammate Eric Reid joined Kaepernick in not standing during the team’s preseason finale and Seattle Seahawks cornerback Jeremy Lane sat on the bench last week against the Oakland Raiders. Marshall and Kaepernick were college teammates at Nevada. NFL Network’s James Palmer obtained this statement from the Broncos: “While we encourage members of our organization to stand during the National Anthem, we understand and respect it being a personal decision.” Marshall’s action comes a day after Seahawks wide receiver Doug Baldwin and defensive end Cliff Avril told reporters they were considering not standing during the national anthem before Sunday’s game against the Dolphins. Baldwin tweeted Thursday that the team will take part in a pregame demonstration Sunday. “To express a desire to bring people together, our team will honor the county and flag in a pregame demonstration of unity,” Baldwin posted. More and more people are taking a stand through sitting the anthem out. Do you think this protest is finally going to get these issues the attention they deserve?? Instagram/YouTube

Super Bowl 50: Hot Refs, Scary Monkeys and More!

Super Bowl 50 sucked. The Denver Broncos defeated the Carolina Panthers by compiling under 200 yards of total offense and converting one third downs all game. It was a sloppy, boring game that didn’t feature a touchdown from farther than two yards away. But there were at least a few things that saved the Super Bowl, as an event , from being a total letdown. And one of those things was  Clete Blakeman . The well-chiseled referee made a variety of calls on the field, but those were nothing compared to the phone calls going around from female viewer to another, each asking the same thing: Who is Clete Blakeman? And is he single?!? Speaking of hot men… MATT DAMON IS BACK AS JASON BOURNE! Sorry. But we’re a tad bit excited. And we think you will be, too, after seeing the Jason Bourne trailer that debuted during the big game: Jason Bourne Trailer Prior to kickoff, of course, Lady Gaga blew us away with a national anthem that actually had people comparing it to the iconic Whitney Houston version from 1991. How could they? This is how they could: Lady Gaga National Anthem at Super Bowl 50 Gaga was not the only superstar to take to the stage, of course. Halftime featured Chris Martin and Coldplay, but let’s be serious: it really featured Beyonce. A “Lil Positivity” Missing Denver Broncos Fan Found 112 Miles From Stadium Safe And Sound

Don’t call it a comeback …er, well, actually…. Missing Broncos Fan Found 112 Miles From Stadium Unharmed Via CNN Paul Kitterman, a Denver Broncos fan who disappeared during a game five days ago, has been found and is safe, the Denver Police Department tweeted Tuesday night. Kitterman was located some 112 miles away in Pueblo, Colorado. Police directed questions to Kitterman’s family. They tweeted that there was no reason to suspect a crime was committed. Kitterman, 53, vanished while waiting outside a bathroom at Sports Authority Field at Mile High on Thursday, where the Broncos were playing the San Diego Chargers. He had gone to the game with his stepson, Jarod Tonneson, and two friends, who sat in another section in the stadium. According to one of the friends, he was last seen waiting for Tonneson, who was using the restroom just after halftime. Tia Bakke, one of Kitterman’s friends, said this type of behavior is not customary of him. He was not intoxicated, and he had no mental health issues, she said. He’s got some ‘splainin’ to do. Super Bowl Rigged? Conspiracy Theorists, Satire Article Suggest Broncos Tanked

Sunday night’s Super Bowl XLVIII result was certainly a joke, but was it rigged? The online conspiracy theorists are swarming following the lopsided outcome. The Seattle Seahawks didn’t just beat the Denver Broncos, they absolutely demolished them in every conceivable facet of the NFL championship game. It was not as close as the score suggests … and the score was 43-8. Super Bowl Rigged? Obviously, this has given way to the obligatory chatter that the Super Bowl was rigged, and Huzlers, site with an Onion-like penchant for satire, fueled the fire. Huzlers posted a “breaking” story this week with the headline “Super Bowl XLVIII Believed to Have Been Rigged and Currently Under Investigation by NFL.” Because few people know what Huzlers is, people believed this. The story claimed NFL officials “found clues that might prove the game was rigged” and imply Denver “lost the championship in exchange for a large amount of money.” The report goes on to say that ref Terry McAulay overheard Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning asking Seahawks coach Pete Carroll, “When are you going to pay up?” Of course, there is no evidence that the game was fixed or rigged, despite the first snap of the game almost decapitating Manning in hilarious fashion. Huzlers identifies itself as “a combination of real shocking news and satire news to keep its visitors in a state of disbelief.” It’s clearly not a real story. Still, the mismatch was almost laughable, and Denver’s comedy of errors – see video above – certainly made it look like they weren’t trying at times. Seriously, were they even trying to tackle the Seahawks? Did someone send hookers to the Broncos’ hotel the night before? Did they all see the Jamie Casino Super Bowl ad on YouTube and lose their focus? Rigged or not, something was definitely up.

What Were You Thinking? Shady Denver Broncos Baller Von Miller Caught Trying To Swap His Dirty Pee For Drug Test

SMH. Shady ballers need to stay off the d-rugs! Via NY Daily News reports : Suspended Denver Broncos linebacker Von Miller conspired with a urine-sample collector to cheat on a drug test, according to the report. Miller was suspended six games before the season began instead of the usual four for violating the league’s substance-abuse policy, raising questions about what the extra two games were for. According to the report, Miller’s camp and the NFLPA were prepared to fight Miller’s suspension until they became aware that Miller had worked with a urine sample collector to avoid the suspension. The collector reportedly was based out of Miami, where Miller spends time in the offseason, and was “star struck,” a source told ESPN. He then helped Miller try to beat the drug wrap, and the scheme might have worked had a second collector working for the testing company Drug Free Sport not realized Miller wasn’t in the city he was supposed to be tested in. The collector apparently agreed to substitute another person’s urine for Miller’s specimen, the report said. The attempt to circumvent the drug-testing program is reminiscent of Melky Cabrera’s bogus website scheme uncovered by the Daily News last summer in which the 2012 MLB All-Star Game MVP and former Yankee created a site listing a fake product in an attempt to prove he inadvertently took a banned substance. Cabrera was suspended 50 games after testing positive for testosterone and Major League Baseball began an investigation that led to its current probe of Miami steroid dealer Anthony Bosch. This guy got people risking their careers behind his dumb azz!
