My name is Christine (I’m the one on the far right in blue in top picture) and I met my idol on July 9th, 2013 in Chicago, IL . Ever since I became a Belieber in 2010, I always told myself that one day I would meet Justin and tell him how much he means to me. Every night I would pray that one day, my dream would come true. I always knew that it would but I never thought that it would happen so soon. The way it happened also makes me smile because my friends and I worked for it. Ya see, myself and my 6 other friends competed in the 2012-2013 Schools 4 All competition hosted by Pencils of Promise. We did it in 2011 as well and ended up raising over $13,000 so we were excited to give it another go. We weren’t just participating because of the grand prize of bringing Justin to our school, we were doing it because knowing that other kids and families out there in the world are smiling because of us is the best feeling ever. At the end of the competition, we raised over $21,000 and ended up winning! I still remember the day I found out we won. Knowing that all of our hard work was going to pay off was amazing. Justin also ended up seeing the video of us finding out that we won. He tweeted that he was looking forward to meeting us! That put the biggest smile on my face. My idol was looking forward to meeting me. Still get chills from it all. Time went on and we found out that Justin’s scheduling couldn’t allow him to come to our school and that we were going to be taken up to Chicago for the whole thing to play out. We also found out that Justin was giving us free tickets to his show that night, too! Fast forward to July 9th: I woke up to Never Say Never and realized that today was the day that I was meeting my everything. I got my hair done and what not, had a few anxiety attacks (ya know), and finally was off to Chicago! Once we got up there, Pencils of Promise put on a presentation for us just to say thanks for what we did. We even found out that our fundraising group had the most donations on our site than anyone and that ever since we started raising money for PoP, we’ve raised over $35,000. Since that is over the $25,000 amount to build a whole school, we ended up getting a school dedicated to us in Nicaragua!! I can’t even describe the feeling. After we got done thanking the PoP workers, it was time to go down to the meet and greet. I was shaking so hard at this point, I was surprised I was even able to go down the stairs. Once we all lined up, all there was left to do was wait. While we were waiting, we saw Kenny, Dan, DJ Tay James, and Justin’s dancers. Then our group of 7 had to get split up since only 6 were allowed in at a time so we just went in with our parents but they just didn’t get in the picture, if that makes sense. After our first group of 3 was done, security ushered us 4 in. Then, I see him. My idol was standing right in front of my eyes. The first thing I notice was his smile. It’s so beautiful. We all went in for our picture. It all happened so fast that we don’t even remember seeing the camera. Right after that, security comes up and starts pushing us out (and I legit mean pushing), but I had made a promise to myself that I was not leaving with out hugging him. I got passed like a 9 ft. tall security guard and walked up to Justin. The next thing I knew, I was in his arms. I was holding my whole world. I was getting ready to cry so I heard my voice crack when I said, “I love you so much.” He then replies back in the sweetest, kindest tone, “Awh, thank you, it means a lot. I love you too.” That hug was probably about 2 seconds but it felt like a lifetime. Right after I walked out, I started crying my eyes out. I couldn’t believe what just happened. I finally stopped crying about 10 minutes later and found out that my friends and I were told that Justin was looking forward to talking to us, to tell us thank you for our fundraising, but confusion with security/not knowing who we were couldn’t allow that to happen. However, when one of my friend’s moms was back receiving our concert tickets from Scooter, he told Justin that the tickets were for the Pencils of Promise girls and he signed them just for us! Regardless of what happened that night, I’m still extremely thankful for what I got and that I got to spend the most amazing, memorable day with my best friends. I know that this story was long but I hope that it reminds you that dreams do come true. Also, just a reminder that one day, you will meet Justin. My name is Christina and I met Justin on June 28 2013 in Las Vegas . I’ve been dreaming of meeting Justin ever since I first became a belieber which was in late 2011. On every 11:11, I would wish for the same thing and that was to meet my idol. One day my dream came true. When Justin was in my hometown, Dublin, I begged for M&Gs only to get a “no” in response. Summer came around and my mam booked the usual Las Vegas holiday for 2 weeks from June 23rd – July 8th but little did we know Justin was going to be there for the Believe tour. My mam was looking to see if her favourite comedian was playing in Vegas and that’s when we found out Justin was going to be playing in the MGM. We booked our holiday months in advance so we had a lot of time to find tickets. It was getting closer to the show and there were still no tickets available. It all changed on the 6th of May when my mam surprised me with meet and greets! I was so shocked that she got me them without me asking her. I gave her a huge hug and cried for hours knowing I was going to meet my idol in just over a month. June 28 came so quickly and before I knew it, I was in my gold and white dress about to meet Justin Bieber. When we (my mam and I) arrived at the arena, we met Justin’s dancer Johnny Erasme and were surprisingly walking the same direction as him. We got our wristbands and that’s when everything hit me, my hands went numb and I couldn’t stop shaking. In the meet and greet line we met Scrappy and Scooter! We missed Mike Posner preform because Justin was late but I’d rather meet Justin. I left my scrapbook I made for him outside the room on a table and it was finally my turn to go in. I was standing in line staring at him and my body filled up with complete shock. He looked beyond perfect, even more perfect than he does in pictures. I thought he was a wax figure and I was getting pranked but no this was reality. The security asked me was I ready and I said yes while feeling Justin’s eyes on me. I walked up to Justin and immediately asked for a hug because my biggest fear was not getting one. He replied to me with his raspy, flawless voice, “Yeah, sure” and opened his arms and gave me the most love filled hug ever. I then stood beside him and he put his arm around my waist to smile for the picture. I was so starstruck that I didn’t get to say what I wanted. I couldn’t say ‘bye’ or ‘I love you’ because I just wanted to walk out and cry. I stood outside the room, eyes full of tears looking in at Justin & my mam. I wanted to go back in already! We got our autographed Believe vinyls and then went to the show. The countdown came on and I snuck up against the barrier and enjoyed every second of the concert. Two of his dancers touched my hand and Justin touched my hand 3 times! The whole day was the best day of my life. Don’t give up on your dreams because the best things in life come unexpected. NYC Lawmakers Considering Voting Rights For Illegal Immigrants Lawmakers in NYC are slated to begin discussing the approval of legislation that would give illegal immigrants the right to vote. via Fox News Hundreds of thousands of New York City immigrants could get the right to vote in local elections under a proposal before lawmakers. A City Council hearing is scheduled for Thursday on a plan to allow people who are in the country legally, but aren’t citizens, to vote. Advocates estimate that could be more than 800,000 people. Many U.S. states once let noncitizens vote, though policies changed by the 1930s. Some Maryland cities now allow it, and the idea has been floated in New York’s City Council for years. Supporters say immigrants who pay taxes deserve to decide who spends them. Opponents say voting should be reserved for citizens. Via Belfast Telegraph reports : Beyoncé Knowles treated her dancers to a $26,000 bash to mark her last London tour date. The Sun reports that the superstar singer treated her crew to the celebratory bash to mark the end of the London leg of her tour. Beyoncé splashed out $26,000 on alcohol in a Champagne bar at an East London hotel following the last of her six shows at the capital’s O2 Arena. “Beyonce wanted to say thanks to all of the backing dancers, crew and everyone else involved with putting on the six shows,” a source told the newspaper. “Between the lot of them they managed to drink their way through more than $26,000 worth of booze in just a few hours.” Her dancers clearly enjoyed letting their hair down at Beyoncé’s bash, although the tour still has some way to go. The Mrs Carter World Tour. will end in August taking in a total of 65 dates including 35 in Europe. “They got stuck in as they knew they had a few days off afterwards,” the insider recalled. “They were still in there at closing time at 4am. “They are only part-way through her tour, but the pressure was on in London and she was chuffed they all helped her put on a good show.” Beyoncé still has three gigs to play in Manchester, before jetting off to Dublin and Belgium.
