The Saga Continues: Terry Crews Accuses National Enquirer’s Publisher Of Blackmailing Him

This all started when Jeff Bezos accused  The National Enquirer   of extortion, claiming that the tabloid leveraged the Amazon CEO’s nude pictures in hopes of stopping his investigation into the company’s motives. Quickly thereafter, acclaimed journalist Ronan Farrow alleged that he had faced similar extortion threats from the media company. Now, Terry Crews has also come forward to accuse American Media, Inc.   of trying to intimidate him to make him drop his lawsuit against WME agent Adam Venit. “This same company, AMI, tried to silence me in my lawsuit against WME and Adam Venit by fabricating stories of me with prostitutes—and even went so far as creating fake receipts,” Crews announced on Twitter. They blinked. https://t.co/S6lMZ5K6Tb — terry crews (@terrycrews) February 8, 2019 Terry Crews sued WME and Adam Venit after alleging that the former agent groped him at a party back in 2016. Both parties ended up settling in 2018 and Venit resigned from the company shortly after that. The actor is now alleging that while this lawsuit situation was going on, AMI threatened to publish fabricated accounts of Crews’ affiliation with prostitutes. Jeff Bezos recently announced that he opened a personally-funded investigation to determine how the  National Enquirer  obtained the explicit text messages he exchanged with his mistress. The mogul first claimed that the story may have been “politically motivated,” coinciding with Donald Trump’s deep-seated hatred of the Amazon CEO. Bezos also alleged that AMI threatened to release his nude photos should he continue investigating how they obtained them.

Nick took to Instagram to post a collage of some of your favorite white comedians — wearing blackface! Happy “BLACKFACE” History Month!!! I’m sure we can expect some more “Apologies” by Monday… Nick also posted footage from the times Kimmel and Fallon wore black face. Nick acknowledged in his comments that he wasn’t necessarily looking to cancel the comedians but wanted the public to have conversations and really see a full and honest picture. Are these your Kings of Late Night??? @JimmyFallon @JimmyKimmel you know I’m always on the side of the comedian and never pander to the sensitive, but I feel there needs to be some “truth & reconciliation” discussions and teachable moments amongst our communities. I’m ready and willing for the discourse, so who wants to step up to the table first? In the meantime, I’ll just leave this right here. Tell the Jimmys to holla at me! What do you think needs to be said and done by the Jimmy’s? If you look at the comments you will see lots of celebrities weighed in — including Russell Simmons who said “Jesus I mean Jesus this sh** hurts.” Does it hurt you to see comedians we thought of as allies joking in this manner? The Duggars: Real Reason They Homeschool Their Kids REVEALED!

It would be a massive understatement to say that the Duggars are an unusual sort of family. The Duggars have always played by their own rules, which is one of the things that endears them to their viewers — who are typically, and somewhat ironically, big fans of both rules and end fiercely protected independence. It may seem that these two passions cannot easily co-exist, but it all has to do with who's making the rules. Like Jim Bob himself, Duggar fans tend to be evangelicals with a fierce patriarchal streak. They believe in divine authority and the authority of the male head of household, and while they tend to be big fans of both the military and the police, they're usually distrustful of the government. Which is a big reason that the Duggars and others like them choose to homeschool their children — but as we recently learned, it's just one of many. Take a look:     1. The Whole Brood Jim Bob and Michelle raised 19 children, and at least up to this point, all of them have been homeschooled. 2. The Student Body It’s an almost unfathomable task — and it begs the question: who would take on such a demanding job? 3. The School Marm At first, the educational duties fell entirely to Michelle Duggar. 4. Easing the Burden As Michelle’s eldest children reached their pre-teen years, however, they began to assist in homeschooling their younger siblings. 5. Taking Up the Mantel These days, as the eldest Duggar to remain unmarried and living at home, 29-year-old Jana assumes most of the workload. 6. Faithful Assistant Until recently, Jana was assisted in her efforts by longtime friend Laura DeMasie, who went so far as to move in with the Duggars in order to serve as a live-in teacher’s aide. R.I.P. Former BET ‘Teen Summit’ Host & D.C. Council Candidate A.J. Cooper Dies

Sad news … A.J. Cooper Death A former host of BET’s Teen Summit turned budding politician has died. A.J. Cooper who was just 34-years-old, passed away suddenly Wednesday from a heart attack. The Washington Post reports: The District lost an actual native son, Wednesday, one who truly wanted to do right by his hometown. A.J. Cooper was a likable rascal turned community activist. He died of a heart attack, a cruel irony for a man who gave so much of his heart to this city. He was 34. I’d known A.J. for years, ever since we were elementary school kids on the playground. He was sort of a wild kid, but he had charisma. He ended up leaving my school, but we played in the same Little League when we got older. After that, he went on to host BET’s Teen Summit, a show that made him somewhat of a national star, but more importantly solidified his interests in the youth of America. Two years ago, when he ran for city council for the first time, it quickly became obvious that he was a young voice that the Wilson Building could use. He believed in working to curb teen pregnancy because it so often derailed the educational opportunities that kids had available to them. Most recently, his work in urban farming initiatives occupied his time. He was a young man that cared about his city, plain and simple. Wow, condolences to the Cooper family! He was so young and so dedicated to D.C.

Fans have been lined up at Macy’s Herald Square for days waiting for a sniff and a chance to meet the Biebs on Thursday. The Biebs hit New York City, dropping by “The Late Show With David Letterman” on Wednesday night, and then popping up on the “Today” show Thursday morning (June 23). He then sat down the ladies of “The View.” On “Letterman,” the pop star delivered the “top 10” list, revealing little-known personal facts. So, what did fans learn about Bieber? “I served eight months in prison for siphoning gas,” he shared. He also joked, “I begged my publicist to get me out of this.” But most important, he revealed, “It’s a hair piece.” During his “Today” show appearance, he sprayed fans with Someday and signed autographs. “I’m more interested in how females smell than males, which is why I decided to do it for all the girls, and 100 percent of the proceeds go to charity,” he shared. “We did a couple [charities], like, Pencils [of] Promise,” he added about the educational organization. “They’re doing this campaign called Schools 4 All, so I’m just really excited.” Bieber also described his inspiration for the scent as “different girls and stuff.” After his appearance on “The View” this morning, Bieber will head to Macy’s Herald Square on 34th street, where some of his fans have lined up days in advance, waiting for a chance to see the Biebs. “These are pretty extreme fans,” Macy’s spokesperson Robin Reibel said about the mass of teenage girls gathered at the famed department store. “A lot of these girls camped out in tents last night.” Bieber will meet with the first 350 fans lucky enough to make the cut (and who purchase Someday) on Thursday. For $135, fans will get sprays in 3.4 and 1 oz. bottles, a 6.7 oz. body lotion, 5 oz. hair mist and a photo with the teen star. The fragrance has been touted as “energy with a state-of-mind that inspires. It is a personal gift straight from his heart, giving fans a chance to get one step closer to Justin. Coming To A Public School Near You: Gay Studies???

Over forty years ago, African Americans demanded public school districts and other educational institutions to reform their curriculum in order to reflect the experiences and histories of folks other than white men. Those opposed to the curriculum change argued that inclusion of the civil rights movement and notable black figures would challenge religious values and politicize the curriculum. Nevertheless, in the years that followed, other ethnic groups and women would follow suit and push schools to revise their curriculum to be more reflective of United States history. These battles over what and whom should be included in public school curricula are far from over; e.g., Texas State Board of Education approves revising textbooks to eliminate the civil rights movement, and Mississippi becomes the first state to implement a civil rights curriculum for grades K through 12. But it appears that public school curricula may undergo an entirely new makeover with the recent news that the state of California is close to becoming the first state to require the teaching of gay history.
