‘Empire’ Recap: Kingsley’s Threat To Andre Has Us Nervous AF

Here is the original post:

Source: Matt Dinerstein / Fox It’s the fall finale of Empire and you can expect to feel a lot of feels! Tonight’s episode moves season five’s storyline forward in a major way and of course, we get left with a major cliffhanger. We pick up this week’s episode with Bella pointing the gun up at her chin. Thankfully, she doesn’t shoot herself as Hakeem manages to diffuse the situation. Cookie and Lucious take this as their chance to respectively lecture the former lovebirds. Cookie apologizes to Tiana for encouraging the toxic ride or die mentality. Lucious tells Hakeem that he shouldn’t even feel the need to carry a gun because he’s the only one in the family that doesn’t have blood on his hands (ironically) and should stay that way. Lucious points out that there will come a time when he and Cookie may have to face a lot more karma they have coming to them and he may be the one who has to take over the empire for real. The best thing to happen on tonight’s episode is that Andre finally got Quincy out of prison! He got another inmate who was never going to see the light of day again to confess to the crime that Quincy was falsely accused of. So that’s that. Quincy’s mom wants to pursue a relationship with Andre but he’s understandably afraid and fate may just not allow it.  Now it’s the holidays and everyone is in Christmas mode, especially Cookie and Lucious. The best gift ever is when Kai drops his report about how Kingsley has been selling people’s data, via Empire, to the highest bidder, including the FBI. Cookie and Lucious are thrilled while Kingsley is pissed and Giselle and Becky are nervous. Patel is pissed because this is messing with his other businesses and he tells Giselle and Kingsley they better figure out who’s going to fall on the sword. Kingsley decides it’s going to be Becky. He claims to have video chats that prove she was working with Lucious and makes a spectacle of having her escorted out, but this is part of a larger plan. Becky is furious and says this isn’t true. Now, we all know what she did for Thirsty, but this ain’t that. Kingsley is trying to scapegoat her for a larger plan because when Giselle asks to see the footage, Kingsley tells her, “Sink or swim” and that’s enough to shut Giselle down for a minute. Plus, Thirsty said the USB he gave Becky was untraceable and we all know Thirsty’s plots are airtight when it comes to covering tracks because he’s the real MVP.  Not all heroes wear capes. Kai informs Jamal that he got some more intel about criminal activity that happened at Empire under Lucious. He wants to release it, being the journalist that he is, but he won’t for now. Plus, his producers in London want to give him a full-time spot. Basically, this means he’s not sure where he and Jamal’s relationship stand and we’re all super confused. Like, did you two not just get engaged? Anyway, let’s cut to the Lyon Family Management showcase.  You already know  everything goes down at the showcases! So, here we are. It starts off all-good. Hakeem, Blake, and Tiana perform their song. Cheers to their truce. Meanwhile, in an office upstairs, Lucious comes face to face with Kingsley and snaps. He starts beating the breaks off of Kingsley and probably would have killed him had Giselle not stepped in and told him that Kingsley is his son. Lucious is stunned and only manages to eek out, “That’s impossible.” From there, Lucious takes a break from the showcase to visit Kingsley’s mother, Tracy, in the hospital right quick. Tracy, in the hospital and we flashback to the 80s. It’s what we already know: He was her dealer, but she also liked “hanging out” with him. Back in the present, Tracy wakes up and tells Lucious that she knew he’d come back. Lucious is still in denial about Kingsley being his son, claiming that they only “hung out” a couple of times. We all know that it really only takes one time, but at the same time, you get the feeling that there’s a chance that Lucious isn’t the father. Tracy encourages him to take a DNA test. There’s also flashback information that shows us that Tracy actually brought Kingsley to Lucious’ home once when Andre and Jamal were really young. She mentioned that she was clean but didn’t have the heart to tell Lucious that Kingsley was his son since he wouldn’t let them in the house and was generally acting shady. Cookie also startled him because she shouted out wanting to know who was at the door, which got him shook enough to tell Tracy to go away and not to come back. That was also the day Tracy got hooked back on drugs (Lucious gave her the money and encouraged her to get taken care of). Trigger much?  Lucious manages to get back to the showcase in time for Giselle to tell them what Kingsley is trying to do to Becky and to make a deal to save her own shady arse. Giselle says she has more information that can help get Kingsley out but they must agree to make her co-partner when/if Lucious takes control of Empire again. Lucious says he’ll think about it. Cookie really just wants them to move forward, but the allure of getting Empire back is strong for Lucious. Lucious also has to tell her about Kingsley, but he gets derailed when Porsha summons her to the stage. Cookie starts off with a nice speech about their victory, but Kingsley crashes the party and blows up Lucious’ spot. Everyone is stunned when Kingsley reveals that Lucious is his father and that he used to sell his mother drugs.   Cookie, the ridiest ride or die chick there ever was, is so disturbed that she walks off stage. Finally, Andre confronts Kingsley and says he will end him but Kingsley’s chilling reply is, “Not unless I end you first baby bro, bring it!’ Then we cut to three months after that and we see Andre flatlining on a gurney. That doesn’t mean that Andre is the person who died, but it doesn’t…not mean that either. We know what show this is. We can expect anything to happen but one thing that’s certain is that the flashback storytelling is over and everything will move forward from here. See you in March. Source: FOX / Getty Tonight’s episode of Empire starts off on a high note. Andre is out of jail! But it all starts going downhill again after that. Kingsley is back visiting Diana in prison in the name of revenge. Diana ain’t no fool, so she calls Kingsley out over the fact that he’s only doing this because his ego is bruised. He already has Empire, which puts him on top, but he’s obviously mad that Lucious embarrassed him so he wants to get even. She’s down to tell him Lucious’ Achilles Heel, but he needs to do a favor for her first. There’s a moisturizing cream she’s been dying to get her hands on and…you get where this is going right? Times is hard in the bing. The Lyon Clan is back to business as usual. Now that Andre is back around he wants to get involved with some of Lucious’ more illegal activities, like collecting debts from various people, street style. Lucious refuses to allow Dre to accompany him because he’s determined to keep all Lyons, especially Dre, out of prison from now on. But Dre is hardheaded and has his own plans. He wants to be a gangsta. No, he is going to be a gangsta like his pops. Lordt. He has been institutionalized. Cookie and Porsha find a talented singer named Devon (played by Mario), but unfortunately, Empire found him too. Becky got to him first. Cookie tells him not to sign with Empire until he sees what she can do for him first and he gives her his word. Empire pulls out all the stops and gives him the royal treatment, of course, but he’s not feeling that they want to turn him into a sex symbol with money, cars, and hoes. Kingsley literally said that. So, he decides to see what Cookie has to offer after all and actually likes the Lyon Clan better. However, he wants to run things by his sister first before signing the contract. Later on, Cookie goes to Devon’s house to find him and to get their business squared away, but she finds his sister instead. Said sister is severely disabled and mentions that it’s just she and Devon since their parents died. She also mentions that Devon works a lot of jobs to support them since she can’t work and that she feels awful about it. It also comes out that Devon wants to sign with Empire but Cookie gets so disturbed by this that she dashes out and decides not to leave the contract. Later on, Cookie tells Becky to sign Devon because she and Lucious can’t give him what he needs (money) right now. She just asks that Becky gets Devon’s contract signed asap and that she sees to it that Empire takes care of him. But guess what? Devon returns to Cookie and says he and his sister felt more comfortable signing with them. Lucious is so appreciative that he gives him a couple of racks on the spot. Look at Lucious doing something good with that blood money. Earlier in the episode, we learned that Kai, Jamal’s boyfriend, went missing in Nigeria. As the episode winds down we find ourselves here. This is the part when Lucious and Cookie inform Jamal that authorities found Kai’s wallet and cell phone on the side of the road. It’s past 48 hours since Kai went missing, which obviously isn’t good. Jamal breaks down crying and Cookie comforts him but there’s nothing else they can do at the moment. Giselle learns from a private investigator that Kingsley has been visiting Diana in jail. Giselle is trying to take Kingsley’s spot at Empire and keep the Lyon Family in check as we know. So, she steps to Diana, who already knows why she’s there, and Diana is with the games. Diana says, “It’s time for them to know what it feels like to put one of your own in the ground.” Then we cut five months later and we see Lucious stumbling around with a blood stain on his side. It looks like he may have been shot and if that’s not his blood, it’s a lot of blood either way. Empire Season 3 Episode 12 Recap: Strange Bedfellows

Hakeem Lyon is not the luckiest member of the Lyon clan.  That was addressed on Empire Season 3 Episode 12 when his birthday celebrations became a cause for concern for the people closest to him.  Meanwhile, Jamal continued to get closer to Philip, but did that mean hurting D-Major in the process? When the episode got underway, Hakeem was partying the night away in celebration for his birthday. He floated the idea of a live stream of the events, but Andre was very much against it.  However, it was quickly revealed he and Lucious were just trying to make Hakeem think they could not make the birthday party. Lucious also revealed he was not getting his son an expensive car he wanted.  We then switched gears to Jamal waking up after the night before with Philip. On his cell phone, D-Major came out in a live stream, but things took a crazy turn when Jamal’s ex arrived at his apartment.  View Slideshow: 19 Shows To Look Forward To In 2017 He found Philip rushing to get dressed, and Jamal told him to leave. D-Major was having none of it and said he came out for Jamal. This presented Jamal with some decisions as he wondered which man was best for him.  After some wise words from Cookie, Jamal had D-Major kicked out of Empire. This also paved the way for Philip to punch Major, but Jamal was less than impressed and said Major was going through tough time.  Surprisingly, Philip did not run off and ditch Jamal for his blatant favoritism over his ex-boyfriend.  At Hakeem’s birthday party, the venue was not impressed when they learned none of the family members would be attending and refused to pay Hakeem a fee.  The youngest Lyon then took the party to the Empire bar.  That’s when two thugs appeared and helped Hakeem. He got his fee and gave the men watches. Things turned dangerous when Tiana appeared with some friends.  The thugs started fighting with everyone, and the party was shut down. Tiana’s friend was injured, and she was upset that Hakeem did not ask about her.  Andre then gave Hakeem a verbal beat down and shut the live stream down, telling his brother he was done at Empire. Hakeem decided to spend the rest of his birthday with Bella.  View Slideshow: 17 Characters Who Ruined Perfectly Good TV Shows Yes, he does remember he has a kid. Lucious was shocked by his son appearing in the dead of night and chatted with him about fatherhood. They bonded, and Hakeem left with Bella.  While all of this was going down, Giuliana continued to pursue Andre to get closer to Lucious. At the conclusion of the episode, she got close to Andre before revealing her master plan to a thug.  She wanted to get closer to Lucious to take everything from him. Yes, we have another money grabber, you guys! In addition, Anika returned to town, and Leah offered to murder her. We’re not even kidding about that last part. This show is just crazy. Anika decided to get close to Tariq so the case could be dropped.  What did you think of the drama? View Slideshow: Empire Cast: Did You Know…?
