This picture is such a bad look…SMH According to TMZ reports : A Joe Paterno approved instructional football video has gotten the death sentence from distributors over a segment involving Jerry Sandusky interacting with young boys … one of whom may have been among the alleged victims. The video — titled, “Joe Paterno: Linebackers” — was released in the late ’90s and features Sandusky running a hands on tackling drill with a group of young boys. A screen shot from the video appears above. According to the infamous grand jury report in the Sandusky case, the person identified as Victim #4 participated in “a video made about linebackers that featured Sandusky.” The name of the video is not mentioned in the testimony, but we can’t seem to find any other instructional video about linebackers that features Sandusky. Now, TMW Media Group has pulled the video off of its website — and a rep tells us the company will no longer offer the video for sale strictly because of Sandusky’s involvement. We don’t blame them! Who the hell would want Jerry Sandusky to teach their kids ANYTHING!
Did you ever do that thing where you draw a face on the side of your hand? That’s approximately the idea behind the video for indie rockers Jacuzzi Boys ‘ single Glazin’ …approximately. Only instead of hands, the faces are drawn on six female fans’ crotches, with their (there is no delicate way to put it) vaginas serving as the mouths for these oddly cute, mildly disturbing and utterly gashtastic puppets. The band maintains that the video was made by six anonymous female fans who call themselves The Jacuzzi Girls, and that althrough they didn’t solicit the video, being big fans of furburger they loved it: “This is so insane & beautiful… We’re speechless! This is hands down the coolest thing a fan has ever done…We’ll now call this the “official” video for Glazin’! It’s a masterpiece! “, they said in an email to the girls. Their record label Hardly Art wasn’t so enthusiastic, taking down the original video and re-posting it in a heavily censored form. But it wasn’t the fact that 90% of the video consists of cooze closeups that made them nervous- they cited “libel and copyright infringement” as the reason for cutting vaginal tributes to Fidel Castro , Homer Simpson, Jabba the Hut, Insane Clown Posse’s Violent J, LeBron James, and Ronald McDonald (yes, really) from the video. Luckily, they left behind plenty of poon for us to ogle (or maybe just stare at in slack-jawed disbelief), so check out the Glazin’ video after the jump!
This is truly sickening and maddening. First, Oakland police shot Scott Olsen, an Iraq War vet and #OccupyOakland demonstrator , in the head with a “non-lethal” projectile, likely a tear gas canister or flash grenade. Scott is now being treated for a fractured skull and swollen brain . He and his family are in my thoughts. Watch the Throne clip will hit MTV, MTV2, mtvU, MTV.com and BET at 8:56 p.m. ET/PT. By Rob Markman Jay-Z and Kanye West in their “Otis” video Photo: Roc-A-Fella Jay-Z and Kanye West will continue to keep fans watching. Three days after the monumental release of their collaborative album Watch the Throne, Hov and Yeezy will premiere the LP’s first video, for “Otis,” on MTV, MTV2, mtvU, MTV.com and BET on Thursday at 8:56 p.m. ET/PT. Immediately following the premiere, the Spike Jonze-directed music video will air on MTV Jams and MTV Hits, with an encore airing on MTV2 at 11 p.m. ET/PT. Read all about how Jay and Kanye are breaking the mold with Watch the Throne. “Otis” captivated music fans when it premiered last month on DJ Funkmaster Flex’s Hot 97 radio show in New York. The song, which samples Otis Redding’s 1966 rendition of “Try a Little Tenderness,” finds Jay and ‘Ye rapping eight bars apiece before passing the mic back and forth several times during the track’s two-minute-and-58-second run. There is no catchy chorus or melodic refrain, just the dusty record loop and hard-hitting rhymes, which made the song an instant fan favorite. Days after the song’s release, two pictures from the video’s set were leaked online. One photo showed a large American flag draped over a blue wall, correlating with Givenchy designer Ricardo Tisci’s cover art for the single. The second pic was of Jonze and West on set, but it ultimately revealed nothing about the clip’s theme or overall feel. What are the critics saying about Watch the Throne ? So far, the “Otis” video has been shrouded in mystery, much like the Watch the Throne album itself. Because the LP didn’t leak early like most albums these days do, fans didn’t get their first listen to the album until it was officially released Monday. Now they get to see WTT ‘s first visual when the “Otis” video premieres Thursday. In addition to the premiere, fans can check out MTV News’ “RapFix Live” on Wednesday (August 10) at 4 p.m. ET on MTV.com and watch as industry experts weigh in on Watch the Throne and what to expect from the joint album’s first video. Rupert Wyatt doesn’t share Franco’s concern that ‘Rise of the Planet of the Apes’ will suffer because of his involvement. By Eric Ditzian Freida Pinto and James Franco in “Rise of the Planet of the Apes” Photo: Twentieth Century Fox Film James Franco is worried. Is the what’s-that-dude’s-deal backlash going to follow him into the multiplex? There’s the Oscar debacle and the dozen or so degrees he’s pursuing and the “Three’s Company” performance-art installation and any number of other accomplishments and interests that get on some people’s nerves, and Franco is fearful his newest movie, “Rise of the Planet of the Apes,” is going to suffer because of it all. “Critics will be out to kill this movie and blame me for it just because they are out to kill me,” he said in a July Playboy interview. “Last year people were pretty nice. This is the year when people are going to have fun going after me.” One person who isn’t concerned is “Apes” director Rupert Wyatt. “I think people are going to see this film, hopefully, for the film,” the British filmmaker told MTV News at San Diego Comic-Con . “Those that will go see this film for James Franco will still see the film for James Franco. I totally understand where he’s coming from. Obviously he took a bit of a knock with the Oscars, but at the end of the day, he’s an actor and that’s his job.” Likely helping matters, from critical reviews to box-office pop, is that “Apes” is a first-rate piece of popcorn entertainment. And, honestly, we’re kind of surprised to say that. But after checking out an early screening, we can say the story is engrossing, the CG apes look amazing, and Andy Serkis, as the lead ape, delivers one heck of an emotional performance. Seriously! The humans, even Franco himself, take a backseat to Serkis’ motion-captured performance as Caesar, the super-smart simian who leads his fellow creatures in their San Francisco-trashing uprising. For his part, Serkis credits his co-star with helping create a believable relationship between Caesar and Franco’s kindhearted but misguided scientist. “It was amazing working with him,” Serkis told us. “It really is a testament if they can truly believe the person opposite them — who is wearing a performance-capture suit with a head-mounted camera — actually go full-on and have a relationship with them. It’s all about believability. All credit to him that he bought into the whole process.” Check out everything we’ve got on “Rise of the Planet of the Apes.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com . Past interviews have highlighted the band’s love of drinking. By Gil Kaufman Kings of Leon Photo: Getty In an era where most rock bands are about as edgy as the latest Ark Music Factory teen-sensation-in-a-box, Tennessee hell-raisers Kings of Leon have often stood out as a throwback to a messier era. The band of brothers (and cousin) raised by a Pentecostal preacher rose from humble beginnings to their current status as one of the biggest rock bands on the planet thanks to dark, moody songs, good genes (and jeans) and a well-established reputation as boozing, brawling ladies’ men who’ve been only somewhat tamed by rock stardom. In recent times, it seemed as if those hellion days were behind them, as one by one the Followill boys have gotten engaged, married or into serious relationships and talked about dialing back the partying. Questions were raised, though, over the weekend when the Kings announced they were canceling the remainder of their U.S. tour due to singer Caleb Followill’s “vocal issues and exhaustion.” The news came after a disastrous show in Dallas during which Followill repeatedly complained about the heat and abruptly left the stage, at one point telling the crowd, “I’m gonna go backstage and I’m gonna vomit. I’m gonna drink a beer and I’m gonna come back out and play three more songs.” Though Caleb never returned to the stage, frustrated bassist Jared Followill later tweeted, “There are internal sicknesses & problems that have needed to be addressed. I can’t lie, there are problems in our band bigger than not drinking enough Gatorade.” The missive clearly made it seem as if some deeper issues than the heat were afoot. Looking back at interviews the band has conducted over the past few years, it’s clear that alcohol has long been a part of the fuel that helped the band navigate their rise to stardom — for good or ill. Whether it’s Jared jokingly telling MTV News that he was impressively good at “Rock Band” while drunk or Caleb suggesting that the band’s most recent CD, Come Around Sundown, “sounds better with a cocktail,” to which Jared replied, “Everything [is better with a cocktail],” the boys have not shied away from discussing their tippling. An April 2009 cover story in Rolling Stone magazine called “The God-Fearing, Booze-Swilling Rise of America’s Hottest Band,” in fact, opens with Caleb and brother drummer Nathan arriving home late one night in 2007 after a heavy night of drinking and getting into such a vicious fight that Caleb dislocated his shoulder and Nathan shattered a $7,000 mirror and then proceeded to repeatedly stab his brother’s mattress with a kitchen knife. The rest of the story has a number of other boozy moments, from Caleb’s drunk New York apartment shopping to a description of the light in the interior of their 75-acre Tennessee property “reflecting off the endless bottles of hard alcohol and wine that cover nearly every inch of counter space.” It notes that after Caleb met his wife, model Lily Aldridge , he gave up drinking whiskey and now sticks to “wine, beer and the occasional shot of tequila.” Though their well-documented love of spirits appears to be at least somewhat to blame for recent troubles, the RS story also mentioned that, like his preacher father, Caleb “suffers from nerves, and he regularly vomits during performances.” Caleb has not made any public statement about what ails him, but on Tuesday, he told TMZ he was focused on healing. “I’m just trying to get better,” he said. Asked if the band will still hit the road as planned in September for a string of Canadian shows, he replied, “I don’t know … we’ll see how it goes.” Related Artists Kings Of Leon
Amy Lee tells MTV News the band is preparing to end four-year road hiatus with run of ‘big energy’ shows. By James Montgomery Evanescence’s Amy Lee Photo: MTV News It’s been nearly four years since Evanescence wrapped the tour in support of their The Open Door album … and in the time since, as any fan of the band will tell you, Amy Lee and Co. spent most days doing anything but Evanescence . Of course, all that has recently changed. Their self-titled comeback album is due in stores October 11, and the snarling first single, “What You Want,” is waiting in the wings. Last weekend, they shot a video for the song, and they’re gearing up for a massive world tour . In a way, you could say they’re making up for lost time, which has made the past month a rather hectic ride, indeed. “We haven’t started rehearsing [for the tour] yet, actually. … It’s just been a crazy run-around. We did a big photo shoot in L.A. for a couple days and I’ve been running around doing a lot of press,” Lee told MTV News. “We’re putting the album art together, getting the mixes done at the same time — I’m carrying my speakers around everywhere with me and, like, setting them up in different hotel rooms.” Evanescence have also been focused on finishing the track list for their album — a process made easier by the fact that they’ll also release a deluxe edition that features all 16 recorded tracks — and finalizing the routing for that aforementioned tour. And then it’s full-steam ahead … regardless of whether everyone’s ready or not. “I wish I had more time to prepare,” Lee said of the tour set to kick off in October. “No, we’re excited to get back out there. All we can do is just run as fast as we can. Everything’s just crammed really tight, from the video to the promo to the rehearsal,” she added. “I’m ready to get to rehearsal, because I’m starting to feel like, ‘OK, we’ve got dates booked, we haven’t practiced yet.’ Starting to get a little nervous, but in a good way. … [We’ll] be back in front of the fans, and feeling that energy again. That’s going to be good for my brain.” And when Evanescence do return to the road, what can fans expect? Well, a solid dose of the new album, of course, but also plenty of the old hits too. Of course, Lee can sum it all up pretty nicely. “It’s just going to be straight-up rock. Big energy, this album is just a fast-paced rock ride. Is that dumb to say? Fine, make fun of me,” she laughed. “We’ve got three albums now to pull from so, of course, we want to play the new ones but, of course, we’re going to play the old ones too. It’s going to be a lot. ” Are you looking forward to a new album from Evanescence? Tell us in the comments!
