Bungie revealed an impressive amount of details regarding their under-the-radar shooter Halo: Reach during their latest weekly update . In addition to detailed breakdowns of some of the various pros and cons of the weaponry, armor abilities, and vehicles players can expect to have at their disposal in the game’s multiplayer. Two of the standout bits of info concern the newly revealed Armor Ability, Armor Lock, and the game’s weapon load out system. The Armor Ability sounds rather rad as it not only makes you momentarily invincible, but it also allows you to “shed plasma grenades, shred vehicles unfortunate enough to attempt a splatter, and deflect projectiles.” The downside is that you can’t move while using it. Can you say sitting duck? As for the load out system, players will be able to choose between a predetermined mix of weapons, Armor Abilities and grenades specifically designed for the playlist and/or game type. So while you can’t mix and match the individual load out components, there will be plenty of options to meet your killing needs. Plus, you can always pick up new weapons during matches, so you’ll still be able to create the perfect weapon combo for your play style. There are plenty of more details where that came from including clarification on Reach ’s stealth kill mechanic, a Designated Marksman Rifle vs. Magnum discussion, an analysis of shield attributes, jet-pack love, and lots more. If you’re looking forward to Halo: Reach in the least, you’ll definitely want to pick up what Bungie’s throwing down.
