Answers We Want From The Next Episode Of Lost: "Happily Ever After"

If there’s something better than a John Locke or Benjamin Linus episode of Lost , it’s a week following our intrepid brother from another time traveling mother, Desmond Hume. Yes, the cliffhanger from last week marked the long awaited return of Desmond not just to the Island but to Lost itself. Desmond has been missing in action, despite the actor’s name appearing in the credits all season long, and there’s good reason to believe Desmond is back for good this time around. And to screw things up. Here’s what we’re expecting from tonight’s Desmond-centric Lost

Latest Xbox 360 Update Live, USB Support Added

The latest Xbox 360 system update has gone live, and with it comes the ability to use USB flash drives to store up to 16GB of content (profiles, game saves, downloadable content, etc.). While you can use any USB flash drive you want (assuming the 360 doesn’t flatly reject it), Microsoft is currently taking pre-orders for their own pre-configured 8GB drive from SanDisk, which also comes with a one-month Xbox Live Gold membership, that’s expected to go on sale next month. I haven’t had a chance to throw in a USB drive and test out the configuration and transferring process yet, but I’m guessing some of you have. What’s the verdict? Any problems so far? Red Dead Redemption Multiplayer Details Teased With Grin-Inducing Screenshot

Rockstar Games plans to reveal a muddied trough of details about the multiplayer modes found in their much anticipate open-world western Red Dead Redemption this Thursday. And to make the wait for said details just that much more painful, Rockstar went ahead and released a new screenshot (above) from the game’s multiplayer mode that has me positively giddy. Unofficial multiplayer details leaked a couple weeks back, and revealed that Redemption wouldn’t use a traditional lobby system, but rather just let players freely wander the game world where they could then meet up with other players, form gangs and then jump into the various multiplayer modes. I sincerely hope this is true, and thankfully, we won’t have to settle for speculation for much longer. I absolutely can’t wait to form my own Wild Bunch, and face off against other gangs in epic shootouts in the dusty streets and wild saloons of the Old West. Although, this isn’t terribly surprising since I

Morning Hangover — April Is Catch-Up Month

I cannot wait to play Splinter Cell: Conviction , but there aren’t the string of must-have games being released in April as we’ve seen in the first few months of 2010. Next month, of course, that changes again, with games like Alan Wake finally arriving on store shelves. I’m thinking about catching up on some downloadable content in Mass Effect 2 and Assassin’s Creed II and taking care of some unfinished business: beating Mega Man 9 . Mega Man 10 is calling me! MLB 2010 Opening Day: Cracker Jacks, Red Sox Joy And Live Stats

Watching the 2010 baseball season open with my Red Sox pulling out a win against the Skankees was seven kinds of great. To be honest though, all I could think about during the game was popping in MLB 10: The Show and getting back to work on my Road to the Show character — Oakland A’s rookie sensation Jack Gaskins. It definitely didn’t help that Sony ran their hilarious Joe Mauer/Kevin Butler ad for the game a number of times throughout the broadcast. The point is, baseball season is officially underway, and that means, among other things, all those glorious live-stat features built into The Show and MLB 2K10 (or whatever next-gen baseball you play) can finally be put to good use. So if you’re a baseball gamer, please share your plans for your (virtual) 2010 season. Are you a franchise player? A season lover? Like creating a player and watching him rise through the ranks? Prefer the off-the-field minutia that comes from being a manager? And, of course, what’s your team, and what are your predictions for this season? While you’re thinking over your answers, feel free to check out Sony’s newly released opening day trailer for MLB

Mid-Day Discussion: Quickie iPad Impressions

It’s the Monday after a holiday, so my work day has been pretty hectic so far. Whenever I have a chance, I’ve been booting up my iPad and playing with Apple’s latest touch-fueled device. I’ll return with much deeper hands-on impressions of the iPad soon, but here are quick thoughts: The landscape keyboard actually makes writing e-mails feasible, not a pain Moving in and out of applications is so fast it almost lack of multi-tasking irrelevant An iPad is, by far, the coolest way to spend a lazy Sunday on the couch Games are fairly expensive, especially ones based on existing franchises, and rushed The “oooh” moment from non-techies comes from flipping a book’s page with your finger I shouldn’t have woken up at 4am, as the iPad didn’t sell out and I could have slept in Dear Time , no one is going to pay for and download a brand-new Time app every week If you have any other questions, I’ll be watching the comments! Plenty more coverage soon. Have something to share? Sitting on a news tip? E-mail me . You can also follow me on Twitter . Apple – Twitter – IPad – Online Communities – Social Networking

Nugget From The Net: Unreleased Final Fight Intro Confuses And Amuses

The following video, posted over at Capcom-Unity.com , may or may not be the unreleased intro for the Japanese version of the classic brawler Final Fight , but either way, it’s one of the most amazingly bizarre gaming gems I’ve seen in a while. Honestly, if “Many violences are happening!!” doesn’t get you geared up for Final Fight: Double Impact hitting PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade next week, I don’t know what will.
