Man-Eating African Nile Crocodiles Have Been Found In Florida Florida really is the weirdest stat e in America according to CNN News : A team of scientists has identified three reptiles captured near Miami as Nile crocodiles, a species native to Africa. Through DNA testing, scientists from the University of Florida were able to confirm that the reptiles captured in the wild from 2009, 2011 and 2014 were Nile crocodiles, the second-largest extant reptile species in the world. The findings were published in the journal of Herpetological Conservation and Biology in April. The study could mean that more of these man-eating creatures are lingering in the Sunshine State. “The odds that the few of us who study Florida reptiles have found all of the Nile crocs out there is probably unlikely,” Kenneth Krysko, herpetology collections manager at the Florida Museum of Natural History at the University of Florida, said in a statement. “We know that they can survive in the Florida wilderness for numerous years, we know that they grow quickly here and we know their behavior in their native range, and there is no reason to suggest that would change here in Florida.” Welcome to Florida, folks!!!

The naked man who sparked talk of a zombie apocalypse after eating another man’s face on Saturday has been identified as Rudy Eugene, age 31. Eugene, of North Miami Beach, was shot multiple times and killed following a grisly assault on the Downtown exit ramp of the MacArthur Causeway. The Miami Herald , whose own surveillance cameras caught the incident on tape, reports that Eugene had been arrested eight times since age 16. “I wouldn’t say he had [a] mental problem but he always felt like people was against him type of attitude,” his ex-wife Jenny Ductant told Local 10. “No one was for him, everyone was against him.” A neighbor said his former home was foreclosed on in 2011, and homeless people in the area said he was frequently spotted wandering around there. The identity of Eugene’s victim, believed to be a homeless man, has not been released. He survived having his face eaten but is in serious condition. An eyewitness riding his bike on the causeway said he flagged down a cop after coming across Eugene, stark naked, chewing another man’s face. Man Shot, Killed After Eating Another Man’s Face “The guy was tearing him to pieces, so I told him, ‘Get off!'” Larry Vega said. “The guy just kept eating the other guy away, like, ripping his skin.” Vega said when the policeman yelled at Eugene to back away, he merely raised his head “with pieces of flesh in his mouth,” growled, and resumed chewing. The officer then shot Eugene once, but Eugene continued to attack the man’s face, prompting the officer to shoot again and again until he was dead. It has been reported, although unconfirmed, that Rudy Eugene was under the influence of cocaine and/or LSD at the time of the attack. That, or he was an actual zombie and the apocalypse is near.

Dina Lohan apparently agrees with you, though. For reasons unknown, someone signed her to produce an unsold documentary series along those very lines. Lohan’s new project promises to chronicle the real-life journey of launching a Broadway musical from “page to stage,” as well as all the behind-the-scenes drama. “There is nothing more important to me than a parent standing behind their child and helping them fulfill their dreams,” Dina told Celebuzz , apparently without irony. Production for the series begins soon and will run through the summer. It will take the audience “behind the scenes of The White Plains (N.Y.) Performing Arts Center’s theatre company,” with producers promising to take the audience “on a roller coaster adventure.” We absolutely can not wait. What got you interested in tech? I went to MIT initially as a Biology major, and many of my classmates were Computer Science majors, as this is a very popular major there. My classmates were always hacking things and making cool projects in their free time, and I felt left out because I couldn’t do any of those things. While I was very much an eager technology consumer in high school, I wanted to be able to make cool things without the help of my friends and classmates. After pledging my sorority (Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.), we needed a new website for our local chapter. I decided that instead of asking my (male) friends to help me build it, I would teach myself. So, I taught myself HTML, CSS and I loved it! I felt so empowered. Since then I’ve continued to teach myself other coding languages, and am generally very curious about how things work. My mother also knew some programming languages, and when I was a kid I used to read through her college course books for fun, so maybe that helped empower me on some level. Did you already know what you wanted to do by the time you got to MIT? Yes and no. I knew I loved Biology, but that I didn’t want to be a doctor. I knew I loved media, but wasn’t sure how being at MIT would help me with a career in media. I entered MIT with the mindset that I would double major in Biology and Media Studies and see what happened from there. I ended up later realizing I didn’t love Biology for a career path as much as I thought I would. Trust me–I forced myself to stick with Biology for 3 years in college, but eventually I dropped it and focused more on majoring in MIT’s Comparative Media Studios program.
