Charlie Sheen to Judge American Idol?!?

We can’t imagine this is real, but it’s certainly intriguing. With rumors circulating that American Idol may hire an entirely new judging team on Season 12 – Will it include Adam Lambert ? Miley Cyrus? Nicki Minaj? – producer Nigel Lythoe has reportedly given TMZ two names of who he’d love to see behind the table: Jerry Lewis… and Charlie Sheen. Give his sordid/colorful/ridiculous history, we somehow doubt Lythgoe would ever place Sheen in charge of a show that targets teenagers as its core audience, but the actor told the site he’d be up for it. Depending on certain conditions. “If the numbers move the needle AND ‘Idol’ matches 20% of my weekly salary for Autism Speaks, JDRF, and the Boys and Girls Club… then the hell with it,” Sheen told TMZ. “As we say, pour the smoke.” Charlie, only you say that. What do you think? Should American Idol hire Charlie Sheen as a judge?

Demi Lovato to Bath Salt Rapping X Factor Hopefuls: See Ya!

Be warned, future X Facto r hopefuls: Demi Lovato means business. Especially when it comes to drugs. The new judge – whose history with substance abuse is well-known – reportedly stopped a couple of contestants in their rapping tracks this week because their lyrics included references to “bath salts,” a synthetic powder that has been compared to cocaine and crystal meth – and was even rumored to be responsible for zombie attacks in Miami earlier this year. Said an E! News source of the Greensboro audition: “She wasn’t having any of it. She said ‘It’s really irresponsible to be rapping about drugs in front of kids.’ Then they tried to make excuses and Demi said, ‘You talked about bath salts, I heard you.'” Lovato ordered the young rappers to exit the stage, the insider added, and the “rest of the judges completely backed her.” Between this example, and reports that Britney Spears recently walked off the X Factor set because a drag queen tried to pay tribute to her with a rendition of “(You Drive Me) Crazy,” there’s little doubt: Season 2 of the Fox competition will bring the serious drama!

It’s November 13, 2010 and about 4:00pm. I’m sitting…

It’s November 13, 2010 and about 4:00pm. I’m sitting front row in the Norfolk, VA Scope with about 200 other people. I’m at Justin’s soundcheck and having one of the best times of my life. I got to watch Justin tell jokes, give my friend’s (@kaylabdollar) little brother girl advice, answer questions from the fans (I got to ask one), and most importantly, be himself. I had such a fun time that day, I’d pay for it again and again. It was only about 35 minutes long, but it was an experience I’ll never forget. Fast forward to December 14, 2010. I was getting ready to leave my house for an orthodontist appointment and just so happened to check my DMs on twitter. I had a new message from the head-person at  www.bieberfever.com   saying that I had won meet & greet tickets to the Greensboro, NC concert the very next day! I couldn’t believe it. No, this wasn’t real, I mean c’mon, I never won anything. I remember my jaw dropping to the floor and my sister and mom freaking out wanting to know what had happened. I told my sister that we were going to be meeting Justin the very next day! We were so excited. The next day, we left school early and drove about 4 hours to Greensboro. We hurried and got to the arena so we wouldn’t be late. When we got there though, we found out we needed our tickets to enter the m&g. We had bought our tickets from an online site and the guy wasn’t supposed to be meeting us with them for another hour! We started freaking out, what if we didn’t get them in time? We wouldn’t meet Justin. We tried talking to workers and everything, my mom called the guy and he said he would hurry and come up there. But the clock was ticking and the M&G was getting closer. Finally the guy got there and went to the ticket window to get our tickets, then his credit card wouldn’t work! That’s when my sister (@hollieimer) and I REALLY started freaking out. Almost everyone had already entered for the M&G and we were sure we were gonna miss it. While we were standing there, Dan Kanter came out to get some family or friends and we talked for a minute, he was super nice! We waited for a little bit longer and finally we got our tickets! We rushed over to the line and a worker had to walk us down saying we were the very last people allowed in! We waited in line for about 20 minutes and finally it was our turn! A security guy told us we had to take a picture with a group of 4 so we had to be in it with 2 girls we didn’t know, and we didn’t get to stand next to Justin, but it was fun! We talked for a second, hugged, and then it was over. Even though both of my experiences were short, they were so fun and gave me a glimpse into the kind of person Justin really is. So in January 2011, a few friends & I came up with the idea of  www.onelesslonelyprom.com , a site to get Justin to go with me to my senior prom on May 19, 2012 . After seeing him be himself, without the cameras & paparazzi for the little time I did, I wanted the chance to really get to know him. I wanted to know Justin Bieber, the teenager. Not Justin Bieber, the world-wide superstar. I’ve spent countless hours making videos and tweeting as many people possible to get the word out and make this even a possibility . Justin should be able to have a normal night, and I feel like I could give him that with this. With the way his lifestyle is now, he won’t have the chance to go to his high school Senior Prom. This would be a great opportunity for both of us, giving him his prom and giving me the chance of knowing him on a personal level. A lot of people have shot this dream of mine down, but I learned, from Justin himself, to Never Say Never. I’ve worked so hard to make this happen, and I’m no where near giving up. I have less than a year to get the word to Justin, and I haven’t spent a day where I haven’t done SOMETHING to get the word out a little more! -@1lesslonelyprom Hey Justin Bieber, come to prom with me?  Continue reading here: It’s November 13, 2010 and about 4:00pm. Way To Go: Georgia Governor Realizes His New Immigration Bill Cost The State 11K Farm Workers, Wants To Replace Them With Convicts

Georgia Governor Nathan Deal is coming to terms with a new realization this morning : all those illegal immigrants he’s trying to have out of his home state over the next few weeks do jobs that no legal resident alien or American citizen wants to do. So now, rather than to admit that his immigration reform might not have been the best move, Deal telling farm owners just to hire ex-cons to replace the law-breaking migrant workers he’s kicking out. Gov. Nathan Deal said in a statement Tuesday that he had asked the state’s agriculture and corrections commissioners to connect unemployed probationers with farm jobs. “I believe this would be a great partial solution to our current status as we continue to move towards sustainable results with the legal options available,” he said. Deal outlined results from a recent survey data indicating there were more than 11,000 positions currently available on Georgia farms. Growers in Georgia have expressed concerns about labor shortages since Deal signed a law last month aimed at cracking down on illegal immigration. The law, known as HB 87, allows police to ask about immigration status when questioning suspects in certain criminal investigations and asserts that workers convicted of using fake identification to get jobs could be sentenced to 15 years in prison and fined $250,000. The law goes into effect July 1, but already some growers say they’ve noticed an impact. Grower Roscoe Hutcheson said no one showed up Tuesday to pick blackberries at his farm in Baxley, Georgia — a labor shortage he blamed on HB 87. Late last month, growers reported they were getting only 30% to 50% of the workers they needed, according to the Georgia Fruit and Vegetable Growers Association, which represents mostly medium- and large-size operations in the state’s $1.1 billion fruit and vegetable business. Labor needs have diminished since then as the end of the harvest season approaches, but concerns from growers have not, said Charles Hall, the association’s executive director. “The information we’re getting form harvesters is they (workers) don’t want to come to Georgia because they’re afraid of the enforcement of this law,” he said. Deal said about 25% of the 8,000 probationers in southwest Georgia — where many of the state’s farms are located — are unemployed. In other words, this solution is no solution at all. Good job, McFly.
