Source: Roy Rochlin / Getty Kanye West Is Suing Roc-A-Fella & EMI Over Unpaid Royalties and Publishing Rights According to TMZ , Kanye West has filed a lawsuit against Roc-A-Fella Records and EMI, the two companies responsible for launching his legendary career. Kanye reportedly filed 2 lawsuits this week against the companies, claiming he signed an exclusive recording agreement with the ROC and is asking for a declaration of his rights over a dispute he’s having and he wants money. His lawsuit against EMI states that they owe him some bread as well. According to TMZ, in 2003, the year before he came out with his breakout album, “College Dropout,” he signed a contract with EMI. The lawsuit claims by late 2011, Kanye had written solely or with other writers more than 200 songs and gave the rights to those songs to EMI. Those songs allegedly includes some of the most influential and successful songs in his catalog, although the suit isn’t specific as to what hits are up for discussion. Jay-Z reportedly sold his stake in Roc-A-Fella in 2014, so he has no direct connection to the company. Yeezy has also hired one of the most powerful firms in the country, Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan, to represent him so its pretty obvious he’s means business.

The legendary rapper was reportedly released from Gilmer Federal Correctional Institution in West Virginia after serving a one-year sentence for tax evasion. With his prison sentence behind him Earl Simmons, 48, must now start forking over $2.3 million in restitution to the government as well as start outpatient programs for substance abuse and mental health treatment. But some good news, X is reportedly planning on dropping a new album and possibly has a few new movie projects and a biopic on his schedule.
Gwen Stefani is on a mission to spread Christmas cheer … and to try to force her fans to like Blake Shelton. In a new interview, the singer isaddressing rumors of secret Gwen and Blake weddings that so many fans have heard. She says that one of the factors influencing their choices is trauma from past relationships. Gwen Stefani is happy to announce that, despite rumors, there is “zero pressure” in their relationship. The interviewer refers to Ellen DeGeneres joking that Blake had confirmed to her that he and Gwen are engaged. In that interview, Gwen of course told Ellen and her audience: “No he — no, we're not!” Now, Gwen explains that “there is zero pressure.” “I think that when there's trauma the way that we had trauma back in the day,” Gwen says. She refers to her contentious split from Gavin Rossdale and Blake's even harder split from Miranda Lambert. “Like,” Gwen continues. “Going through all these hard times to get to a place where you find somebody that’s your best friend.” “That you know that you can depend on and trust and just go through life,” Gwen adds. She's been through a lot of emotional upheaval to get to where she is. She's in no hurry, she explains, to change things up. “I think that we'll just try and be in the moment as much as we can,” Gwen says. As to whether Blake is her forever man, she says: “I hope so! I hope so.” Gwen admits that there were times when she couldn't imagine the happiness and stability that she currently has in her life. “I never thought I would get this moment,” Gwen confesses. “So it’s just really special,” she explains. After all of the rumors of secret engagements and multiple secret weddings, it's good for fans to hear an explanation. Some expected that she and Blake would remarry right away. It is great to see her taking her time. Gwen also spoke further about their relationship as she discussed filming a music video with Blake. Apparently, despite being a music star in his own way within the Country Music community, Blake hates filming music videos. Some musicians feel awkward or inauthentic filming them, even though they can help push songs and become works of art. The fact that Blake was part of Gwen's video is very sweet and shows how willing he is to indulge her. That said, a sizable portion of Gwen's fans have seen more than enough of Blake for their liking. Seeing him in a music video is not what they want. But he's part of Gwen's life. They will need to accept that. Gwen's interview made reference to her interview with Ellen. A source close to Blake told HollywoodLife that Blake was very amused by it. ” Blake thought Gwen’s interview with Ellen [DeGeneres] was absolutely adorable,” the insider shared. “She looked gorgeous and was so smart and funny,” the source noted. The insider revealed: “He’s watched the video at least ten times now, and it still makes him smile.” That is, admittedly, very cute.

Through it all, Maci Bookout has made it clear that she very much wants her son to have a relationship with his father — but Bentley's safety has to come first. So as Ryan' stint in rehab came to an end, Maci was as nervous as anyone. And she reached out to Ryan's parents to share her concerns. Take a look: 1. A couple of weeks ago the State Of The Culture host offered his two cents on Cardi B’s recent run in turned shoe throwing incident with Nicki Minaj. Naturally his critique did not sit well with her husband. Last week the Migos member claimed he bumped into the “Pump It Up” rapper and Budden took off running. He detailed the interaction or lack there of in the comments section of a Shade Room post. “I watched ya show u a grown ass n*gga speaking on women I seen u in Barnes and u ran like I was gone do sum to you lol. U a hoe ass N***a soon u get touched u gone be police.” Considering Budden has a long history of wanting all the smoke the accusations made a lot of noise on the internet. Joey made sure to address the alleged backsliding on his show. On the last episode of The Joe Budden Podcast the New Jersey native detailed his version of events. “I don’t know why I still think I’m the guy that can hold a piss. He saw me, I didn’t see him.” He went to confirm his stance on Bardi. “She is great and amazing and I want her to continue to be here. I don’t want to lose her to police, to jail, to hatin’ bi***es. New York is rocking right now and Cardi’s a big part of that”. More importantly, he cleared the air and confirmed he doesn’t want any Rap beef with Offset. “I love Cardi I’m not about to beef with a n*gga over his wife that I love. I thought that was our common ground [laughs]. I was saying Cardi was too big a superstar to behave that way ’cause people have it out for her period.” This is not the first time Budden has rubbed the Migos camp the wrong way. In 2017 while still working at Complex , he famously walked off when interviewing the Trap trio. Month’s later he became the subject of their song “Ice Tray” where his name was interchanged as slang for being a hater. After dealing with drug addiction for a decade of her life, she plans to help other addicts get back on track—with the help of her very own billboard in Times Square. Page Six reports Williams’ new philanthropic campaign Be Here was launched through her Hunter Foundation and “will serve to combat drug and substance abuse.” The famed talk show host previously told the site that she aims to “bring light” to the fact that “addiction doesn’t have to be your demise.” In Wendy’s own words : “I lost a little over 10 years of my life regarding substance abuse, but I’m now going into Season 10 [of The Wendy Williams Show ]. I’m married, I have a great career and a flourishing business…it’s not that you fall down, it’s how you rise. And if you rise, then you reach back. This is a reach back.” As for her billboard, Page Six says it “features a split video of a promotion for the Wendy Show and Williams’ Hunter Foundation. Ariana Grande has broken her silence in response to her former boyfriend Mac Miller’s shocking death Friday at the age of 26. One day after Miller was found dead inside his home of a suspected overdose, the singer has acknowledged her ex’s passing. Grande and Miller dated for about two years, breaking up in May, just a couple of months before Miller would pass away. According to sources at the time, the rapper’s substance abuse problem was a sigificant reason that Grande was forced to finally end the romance, which had become highly toxic and unhealthy for her. Because lots of people on the Internet are awful, some trolls attacked Grande on Instagram Friday evening because they: Actually blamed Ariana for Miller’s overdose . Wondered why she had not yet commented on his passing. Like we said, lots of people on the Internet are awful. On Saturday afternoon, however, Grande did share the above photo of Miller on her official social media page. She did not include a caption along with it. Within an hour of going live, though, the black, white and simple but profound tribute has garnered over 3.6 million Likes. That says more than any words could. About a week after Miller and Grande split, the former was arrested for drunk driving after he got into a very serious car accident. Grande responded by telling Mac to “Pls take care of yourself,” and she then clapped back hard at anyone who blamed her then as well for Miller’s personal issues. “I am not a babysitter or a mother and no woman should feel that they need to be,” she tweeted this spring, adding: “I have cared for him and tried to support his sobriety & prayed for his balance for years.” “Of course I didn’t share about how hard or scary it was while it was happening but it was.” Miller was also in Manchester last year when a terrorist killed 22 people at one of Grande’s concerts . These two had been through a lot prior to Mac’s death. The day Grande and Miller broke up , Ariana wrote the following on Instagram: Hi! This is one of my best friends in the whole world and favorite people on the planet malcolm mccormick. I respect and adore him endlessly and am grateful to have him in my life in any form, at all times regardless of how our relationship changes or what the universe holds for each of us! Ariana continued: Unconditional love is not selfish. It is wanting the best for that person even if at the moment, it’s not you. I can’t wait to know and support you forever and i’m so proud of you!! Elsewhere, another of Miller’s ex-girlfriends, Nomi Leasure, has spoken out on his death… and his life. “So grateful we had our final moment. Our clarity, clearing of the air. You changed my life. Her current condition is unknown. Lovato, who has long battled substance abuse had been clean from cocaine for over six years. In his now most quotable interview, Jigga talked to Rap Radar about the British soul singer. Jay-Z described his first encounter with Winehouse at Joe’s Pub in New York City. He met her after watching her perform. He reflected on her hit song “Rehab,” saying, “She was telling us, she was writing the songs to our face. ‘They’re trying to make me go to rehab, I’m not going.’ Like, what? You have to go!” When Jay met her after the show, he was concerned when he heard her stuttering, “I was like, ‘You don’t even stutter. Why are you doing that?’ I looked at her, and I was like, ‘Stay with us.’ The first time we hung out, I told her, ‘Stay with us.’” Winehouse died at the age of 27 from alcohol poisoning. She had a long history of substance abuse and mental health issues. Her sophomore album Back to Black garnered critical and commercial acclaim.
