Scott Stapp: T.I. Saved My Life After Suicide Attempt!

Say what now? Creed singer Scott Stapp is opening up about trying to kill himself in 2004, and says he wouldn’t be here today if it weren’t for his guardian angel: T.I. Stapp spoke about the incident on VH1’s “Big Morning Buzz Live,” explaining that he’d checked into the penthouse of Miami’s Delano Hotel during a drug binge. After days of being awake, phantom voices and the hotel’s white walls prompted visions of an asylum, and Stapp jumped over his balcony, 40 FEET off the ground. He fractured his skull, broke his hip and nose and couldn’t move. Then, like his own personal savior … along comes T.I. “I laid there for two and a half hours and my guardian angel showed up – rapper T.I.,” Stapp said. “He immediately took care of the situation and saved my life.” The two musicians had met just once before. “I had met T.I. back in 2004, we were both writing songs for The Passion of The Christ: Songs Inspired By soundtrack and we had briefly interacted there.” “We knew what the looked like. We’d talked about being fans of Alabama.” “It’s ironic … he walked in, and I found out later it was the only room left in the hotel and he came in off the street and came out, and as I’m laying on the ledge, blood fell to [T.I.’s] feet and he looked up and he had an Alabama hat on.” “I said, ‘roll tide,’ and he looked at me and put two and two together and saved my life.” Just as amazingly, this isn’t T.I.’s first time playing hero in a life or death situation. In 2010, he talked an Atlanta man out of jumping off a 22-story building. “Nothing is that bad. Nothing in life is worth taking your life,” T.I. was heard telling the man in video footage. “I’m here to help you. Please come down to talk to me.” Good guy, that T.I. [Photo: WENN.com]

Avengers Sink Battleship at UK Box Office

The Avengers (titled Avengers Assemble in the UK) exploded at the UK box office with £15.78 million — or roughly $25.6 million — over the weekend, including its Thursday preview screenings, giving the superhero film the winning spot among British releases. And coming in the heels of John Carter (which has yet to even break the £5m mark in Britain), Disney is wasting no time celebrating, calling the result the biggest superhero-movie opening of all time, The Guardian reports . By comparison, The Dark Knight debuted in Great Britain with £11.19m ($18.1m, including previews), while Spider-Man 3 kicked off with £11.83m ($19.1m, sans previews) in May 2007 and Iron Man 2 grabbed just £7.66m ($12.3m, including previews) back in April 2010. Meanwhile, Battleship , which launched April 11 in the UK, has dropped from first to sixth place, taking in the rough equivalent of $811,000 from 436 locations — a 61-percent decline from the previous weekend. Rounding out the British theatrical top five, Salmon Fishing in the Yemen took in £1.08m ($1.75m) from 417 sites, The Hunger Games followed with just over £744K ($1.2m) from 398 locations, The Pirates! In an Adventure with Scientists landed at number four with nearly £664K ($1.07m) at 511 theaters, and The Cabin in the Woods closed the top five with almost £562K ($911K) at 383 locations. Why Democrats And Republicans Are Both Wrong About The Bush Tax Cuts

All over the Internet, Republican pundits are declaring that extending the Bush tax cuts will save the economy and Democrat pundits are declaring that ending the Bush tax cuts will save the economy. Well, you know what? Nothing will save the U.S. economy. The U.S. government is going to continue to drown in a sea of debt no matter what happens with these tax cuts. State and local governments are also going to continue to drown in a sea of debt. Thousands of factories and millions of jobs are going to continue to be shipped overseas every single year. America is going to continue to transfer tens of billions of dollars of its national wealth to foreign nations every single month. Nothing that the Republicans and Democrats are debating right now is going to do a thing to alter the fundamental problems that the U.S. economy is facing. added by: Revelation1217

Chinese hired Blaster worm hackers

Wikileaks reveals scary security stories By Nick Farrell Tue Dec 07 2010, 09:42 THE WIKILEAKS LEAKS have shown that Chinese security firms with ties to the Chinese military hired the hacker group responsible for the original Blaster worm. According to the Guardian US diplomats have also discovered that the security firms have access to the source code of Microsoft Windows to assist them breaking it. In a US State Department daily security briefing of June 29, 2009, Topsec of Beijing had employed Lin Yong, aka “Lion,” the hacker served as a senior security service engineer to “manage security service and training”. Topsec, China's largest security vendor, provides training and support service for the People's Liberation Army. Apparently all this information was not that secret as it had been sourced to an interview in state-run media with the firm's founder and chairman, He Weidong. Another company, Venustech employed a hacking group called Xfocus, which reportedly was responsible for crafting the original Blaster worm in mid-2003. The US thinks that ties between government-backed companies and hackers is part of China's nationally-funded “network attack scientific research project”. What is strange is that both outfits have links to Microsoft and have signed agreements with the Vole to give them access to Windows' source code.

WikiLeaks founder says guards against death threats

LONDON/STOCKHOLM — WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange said on Friday he and colleagues were taking steps to protect themselves after death threats following the publication of leaked U.S. diplomatic cables on their website. One of Assange's lawyers said he would also fight any attempt to extradite his client to face questions over alleged sexual misconduct, adding that he believed foreign powers were influencing Sweden in the matter. Washington is furious about the leak of hundreds of confidential diplomatic cables that have given unvarnished and sometimes embarrassing insights into the foreign policy of the United States and its allies. Answering questions online from an undisclosed location, the 39-year-old Australian said anyone making threats against his life should be charged with incitement to murder. “The threats against our lives are a matter of public record, however, we are taking the appropriate precautions to the degree that we are able when dealing with a superpower,” Assange was quoted as saying on the Guardian website. Britain's Guardian is one of a number of newspapers around the world with early access to diplomatic cables seen by WikiLeaks.
