21 Parents Who Should Not Be Allowed to Text (Except #7, He Rules)
The final chapter in our favorite franchise is about to get underway. And while movie goes have been treated to the same The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 trailer for awhile now, fans of the small screen have actually viewed more variety. The film has released a number of TV spot, culminating in an especially dramatic one that aired on Tuesdsy evening. The new one-minute preview debuted during Game 1 of the World Series between the New York Mets and Kansas City Royals, taking a look back at Katniss' (Jennifer Lawrence) journey as she gets ready to take down The Capitol Once and for all, dammit. Remember when Katniss had to compete in The Hunger Games? Remember when she would go out into the woods with her bow, her arrow and Liam Hemsworth as Gale? And then when everything changed once Katniss (and her trusty pin!) became the symbol of a revolution among the Districts? There's also some new footage included here, which mixes with the old footage to form a delicious cocktail of nostalgia and suspense. Simply put, we cannot wait for November 20 to arrive. It's not here yet, is it? Check out the latest television spot for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 and prepare to say hello to these beloved characters once again… … before having to say goodbye to them forever, that is.

Phillip Seymour Hoffman’s death on Sunday has left Hollywood shocked and saddened. Tons of celebrities have already taken to Twitter to react to the beloved actor’s passing, and now his Hunger Games family is making a statement, as well. Hoffman had nearly completed filming his role as Head Gamemaker Plutarch Heavensbee for the two-part Hunger Games conclusion, Mockingjay. On Sunday, director Francis Lawrence and The Hunger Games author Suzanne Collins spoke on behalf of the film’s cast and crew, saying: “Words cannot convey the devastating loss we are all feeling right now. Philip was a wonderful person and an exceptional talent, and our hearts are breaking.” “Our deepest condolences go out to his family.” Hunger Games ‘ production company, Lionsgate Films also made a statement: “Philip Seymour Hoffman was a singular talent and one of the most gifted actors of our generation.” “We’re very fortunate that he graced our Hunger Games family. Losing him in his prime is a tragedy, and we send our deepest condolences to Philip’s family.” Hoffman died of an apparent drug overdose in New York City at the age of 46. Emily Creno, an Ohio mother who subjected her four-year-old son to numerous medical tests in an alleged cancer hoax, was arrested on Tuesday. She was charged with a third-degree felony for child endangerment following an ongoing scheme in which she claimed he was dying of cancer. In December of last year, she allegedly began an elaborate hoax in which her young child was initially taken to a hospital for seizure-like symptoms. Over multiple visits, he underwent at least 20 blood tests and more than 150 hours of inpatient monitoring, along with other tests, reports indicate. Creno also shaved her son’s head regularly. “Each time [the child] was brought into the hospital, staff was unable to find any signs or symptoms of medical distress,” a statement of facts said. That fact appears to have been kept from friends, family and others looking to help. Several Facebook groups organizing donations sprung up in response. One of them, “Champions for the Creno Family,” had almost 150 members at time of writing. At least 20 people claimed to have donated money or goods. All the while, the boy was subjected to tests for a disease that he never had, and – according to his father – given medication that he did not need. In May, the Ohio boy’s father, John Creno, told the Columbus Dispatch that taking the needless seizure medications had left his son unable to walk. “He could hardly walk,” John Creno said. “He could not talk at all.” “You could not understand a word he said. He would literally sit on the couch, tell you he had to go potty and, before you could help him, he already wet himself.” John Creno said he had no idea his wife was lying to him. The couple have since divorced, which is not hard to believe after going through this. Police were first tipped to the possible fraud by a woman who had a daughter with leukemia and thought online updates about Creno’s son made no sense. Damian Smith, the detective assigned to the case, said the Columbus physician whom Creno said was J.J.’s oncologist had no knowledge of the child. In a Facebook support group, Creno claimed to have worked as a nurse at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, where her son received numerous tests. However, an investigation by WBNS revealed that Creno not only never worked at the hospital, she has never even been a licensed nurse in Ohio. The child’s father said above all, he was concerned about his son. “He was told that he was going to see Donna,” John Creno said. “Donna was my mom, who passed away from cancer. So telling a 4-year-old, ‘You’re going to go see Donna’ … he thought he was going to die.”

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West were seen checking out renovations to their mansion, which is undergoing an extensive makeover, in Bel Air yesterday. “It’s not close to being done, but it’s coming along,” a source said of the $11 million property, which the parents of North West purchased back in January. This is the first time they’ve been spotted together since West ‘s return from New York City, where he went to Fashion Week and went on an epic rant . The renovations kicked off this summer, as the A-list duo is planning to turn the already-lavish, expansive digs from 10,000 square feet into 14,000. Need that extra space. With the kid and all. The home will be complete with with a gym, movie theater, bowling alley, basketball court, pool, and a hair and makeup salon … plus the usual stuff. For the time being, the new family is living with Kim Kardashian’s mother, Kris Jenner, in Calabasas, Calif., just how the momager likes it no doubt. No word yet on the potential end date for their home renovations , or whether little baby Nori will have her own staff, butler and servants’ quarters. Still no sign of her since the North West photo reveal on Kris Jenner’s talk show, which looks to have mercifully been sacked after a rough summer.

With Philip Seymour Hoffman already on board Catching Fire in the key role of Plutarch Heavensbee, Lionsgate has confirmed that Julianne Moore will portray President Alma Coin in the final two installments of the franchise, Mockingjay Parts 1 & 2. The character is the stoic leader of Katniss and company’s rebellion against the Capitol. Mockingjay Parts 1 and 2 will be released in November 2014 and 2015, respectively. Other casting items related to the film include: Natalie Dormer as Cressida . Stef Dawson as Annie Cresta. Evan Ross as Messalla.

Stef Dawson has joined the cast of The Hunger Games. The Australian actress will come on board the final two installments of this blockbuster franchise as Annie Cresta, the District 4 Victor and love interest of Sam Claflin’s Finnick Odair. Dawson is the second actress in the past couple weeks to be named to The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Parts 1 and 2, as Natalie Dormer is signed up to portray the rebellious Cressida in the movies that are scheduled for release in late 20125 and 2016, respectively. Mockingjay will be directed by Francis Lawrence and – SPOILER ALERT! – follow Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen, who leads a rebellion against the corrupt Capitol its leaders. But we’re getting ahead of ourselves with this casting news. Long before Mockingjay hits theaters, Catching Fire will come out on November 22, 2013. We cannot wait.
