The beautiful blonde’s contract with the ABC talk show expires in January – and sources tell Fox News that she’s unlikely to be brought back for a second year, now after her hiring failed to boost ratings. ” Jenny just didn’t appeal to the daytime audience market. They couldn’t relate to her,” a source tells FOX411. “There are a lot of changes taking place now that Barbara [Walters] has left.” The decision to bring McCarthy on board last fall was met with skepticism and criticism by some, as the model’s anti-vaccination beliefs are well-documented at this point. One critic went as far as to refer to McCarthy as a homicidal maniac , while others were shocked ABC would give someone with her viewpoint such a public forum. The network says that its policy prohibits them from discussing talent contracts, but “Jenny has been a welcome addition to the show.” As of April, though, the numbers say otherwise: ratings were down by about 5 percent compared with that time last season. Conversely, CBS’ The Talk has climbed 19 percent from its past season. “Now that Barbara has retired, ABC has more autonomy to hire who they want for the show,” adds this insider. “But no matter what, Barbara will not let this show fail. According to my sources though, AKA my eyes and this cover she did for the latest issue of Shape Magazine , Jenny’s on The View and she’s getting married. Cheo Feliciano, a legendary Salsa and Bolero singer from Puerto Rico, died early this morning as a result of injuries sustained in a car accident. He was 78 years old. According to local police, the artist lost control of his Jaguar around 4:15 a.m. careening around a curve and slamming into an electrical post. He was not wearing a seat belt at the time. “Father will live forever because he has given his music, his heart to his people,” Feliciano’s son, José Enrique, told El Nuevo Día. “Thank God we have his music to remember him by.” Feliciano was born in the Puerto Rican city of Ponce, but rose to fame in New York. His first major break arrived in 1955, when he sang with the Tito Rodríguez orchestra at The Palladium in New York City. He would proceed to record a number of popular singlets in 1970s, including “Anacaona,” “Mi triste problema,” “Pa’ que afinquen” and “Si por mi llueve. He struggled with drugs later in his career, however, and announced a cancer diagnosis last year. Feliciano is survived by behind his wife, Coco Feliciano, and four sons. Check it out from a couple of angles: Daniel Arik, the owner of Newport Jewelers, tells E! that he was commissioned to craft the ring specifically for Jenny McCarthy and Donnie Wahlberg : “Donnie was referred to us by a good friend. He came in just before St. Patrick’s Day. He had an idea of what he wanted and was part of the design process.” “When he first came in, we showed him a few rings and he chose bits and pieces from each ring that he liked, we then combined what he liked and created a custom ring.” The color was a given because, well, “Jenny wanted yellow.” As for the finished product? “The ring is over 10 carats .” “The band is 18-karat white gold although you can’t see the band because it’s covered with diamonds. Following just over a month as co-host on The View , this bubbly blonde’s job status was called in to question this week when Radar Online quoted an anonymous production source who claimed producers were unhappy with McCarthy. Jenny McCarthy on The View “ABC has begun doing deep research on Jenny’s work on the show and the initial findings are that viewers want to tune out the second she opens her mouth!” the report alleged. “The data has revealed that she is far more off-putting Elisabeth.” But while it is true some critics have questioned giving McCarthy such a platform due to her anti-vaccination beliefs (the words ” homicidal maniac ” have been used to describe her), it is NOT true that she’s on the outs. HOWEVER, the numbers don’t back up the claim that The View is suffering in McCarthy’s presence. It is averaging just over three million viewers per episode this season, which is a tick below its previous season numbers. E! It’s a whole new View on ABC. Days after Joy Behar was showered with kisses on her final episode, the network has released a promotional photo for the Season 17 cast, which, of course, will include Jenny McCarthy as new program panelist. She was confirmed as the replacement for Elisabeth Hasselbeck on July 15. Gushed McCarthy upon being named co-host: “I’m beyond thrilled to be joining Barbara and the other amazing women at the table. I’d like to thank ABC for this great opportunity. I’d also like to give a big thank you to VH1 for their support and for allowing me to fulfill this lifelong dream.
