Furious 7 Trailer: One Last Ride…

The first trailer for Furious 7 has arrived. And it’s every bit as awesome, as action-packed and as bittersweet as you’d imagine it to be. The film, set for release on April 3, 2015, features some of the final acting scenes Paul Walker filmed before his stunning death in December of 2013. In the surefire blockbuster, he reprises his role as Brian O’Connor, joining forces up once again with Vin Diesel’s Dom Toretto for some serious street racing, some risky heists and a lot of general hijinks. Furious 7 Trailer As Toretto says at one point in the above footage, it’s time for “one last ride.” The trailer also depicts Dom, Brian and other members of this crew – Michelle Rodriguez’s Letty Ortiz, Tyrese’s Roman Pearce and Ludacris’ Tej Parker – revving their car engines… while on board a four-engine transport plane. “Just when you didn’t think it could get any better, huh?” Walker says. Like we said: bittersweet. Walker died in car accident just under a year ago at age 40, leaving behind a daughter. May he rest in peace. Remembering Paul Walker (1973-2013) 1. Paul Walker, Daughter Meadow Paul Walker and his daughter Meadow pose for a sweet photo. May he rest in peace and may she find it.

The New Fugees? Wyclef Jean Confirms Whether Or Not He’ll Be Making New Music WIth Wacko White Girl Amanda Bynes

Amanda is already crazy like Lauryn Hill… Wyclef Denies Working With Amanda Bynes Via TMZ reports: Amanda Bynes won’t be releasing an album with Wyclef Jean’s help any time soon — reps for the former Fugees rapper tell TMZ, Clef has NO intention to collaborate with the wig-wearing tornado of confusion. There were reports Bynes and Wyclef would be joining forces for Amanda’s upcoming album on Chinga Chang records — after the label’s CEO Daniel Herman went on the record saying he was bringing the two together for an explosive collaboration. But Wyclef’s management says it’s just not gonna happen, telling TMZ, Wyclef has no intention of working with Amanda. In fact, Wyclef’s people say he’s never even spoken to Amanda. But it’s not the end of the world, right? Paris Hilton didn’t have Wyclef’s help. What makes Bynes think she has ANY talent or cred. as a rapper anyway? She’s nothing but a mediocre, has-been child actress who’s gone off the deep end of the mental pool.

Trailer for Ben Affleck’s Argo Teases Bizarre Slice of Hollywood-CIA History

Ben Affleck , director, makes his most ambitious movie yet in this fall’s Argo , the crazy true (and until recently, secret) story of how the CIA attempted to rescue six American diplomats during the 1979 Iran hostage crisis by disguising them as a film crew working on a science fiction movie. The first trailer for Argo ranks up there with the best we’ve seen all year, setting up the stranger-than-fiction premise with juicy moments from veteran thesps (John Goodman! Alan Arkin!) and up-and-comers (ladies and gentlemen, Scoot McNairy) alike as Affleck serves up a bizarre slice of history. Affleck directs from a script by Chris Terrio (based on Joshuah Bearman’s engrossing 2007 Wired article “How the CIA Used a Fake Sci-Fi Flick to Rescue Americans from Tehran”), casting himself as CIA officer Tony Mendez, the orchestrator of the so-called “Canadian Caper.” He’s joined by Goodman as Planet of the Apes Oscar-winner John Chambers, the Hollywood make-up artist who helped Mendez set up the operation, and Arkin as a producer delivering choice zingers (“If I’m doing a fake movie, it’s going to be a fake hit!”). In addition to folks like Goodman, Arkin, Victor Garber, Bryan Cranston, Michael Parks, Zeljko Ivanek, Affleck tapped a few rising actors to fill out his cast: Scoot McNairy ( Monsters ), Christopher Denham ( Sound of My Voice ), and Kerry Bishe ( Red State ) join Tate Donovan, Clea Duvall, and Rory Cochrane as the six imperiled diplomats. Add in the muted ’70s palette and sense of humor tempered by life-and-death stakes and you’ve got what promises to be an intriguingly layered ride, if Affleck the director can pull it off. Argo is slated for release on October 12, gunning for awards season. Verdict: If it measures up to the true story and the article it inspired, this could be great. Thrill me, Affleck.

U.S. Military SHIELD-ed from The Avengers Collaboration

The U.S. military has a history of joining forces with Hollywood. Michael Bay’s Transformers franchise and Peter Berg’s Battleship have cozied up to the military to take advantage of defense material, while the Pentagon gets to market itself to moviegoers. (To say nothing of the recent Navy SEAL showcase Act of Valor .) So how did The Avengers not make the cut? It seems that the Joss Whedon superhero spectacle was “too unrealistic” for military brass get involved. At the end of the day, it was Nick Fury’s SHIELD that clinched the decision (perhaps if they just stuck to the superheroes and alien invaders it would have been OK?) “We couldn’t reconcile the unreality of this international organization and our place in it,” said Phil Strub, the DOD’s Hollywood liaison. “To whom did SHIELD answer? Did we work for SHIELD? It just got to the point where it didn’t make any sense. We hit that roadblock and decided we couldn’t do anything [with the film].” [ WorstPreviews ]

Michelle Obama, Jill Biden Booed by NASCAR Fans

First Lady Michelle Obama and Dr. Jill Biden, wife of the Vice President, served as grand marshals yesterday prior to a NASCAR race at Homestead-Miami Speedway. They were on hand to promote the military family-based project Joining Forces, starting the race along with a wounded veteran named Andrew Berry and his family. And the famous wives were audibly booked upon being introduced to the crowd. Hear for yourself: Michelle Obama Booed by NASCAR Fans The sports governing body downplayed the response via a statement by Marcus Jadotte, NASCAR vice president of public affairs. It reads: “The NASCAR community and the vast majority of those attending our race Sunday welcomed the first lady and Dr. Jill Biden and the military families in attendance. We are proud to support military families across the country and proud to support the Joining Forces initiative.” But, come on, we have ears. We can hear the negative reaction of many in attendance. Which leads us to ask: Booing the First Lady during a non-political appearance? Right or wrong?
