Source: Jennifer Cunningham/Senior Editor for Bossip.com Prosecutor Called Incident Between Kevin Hunter Jr. & Kevin Hunter Sr. A “Family Squabble” A Northern New Jersey judge has dismissed an assault case against Wendy Williams’s son that accused him of pummeling his father outside of a convenience store. The judge ordered the case thrown out after the prosecutor revealed that alleged victim Kevin Hunter Sr. did not want to press charges and refused to testify against his 18-year-old son. He said there was simply not enough evidence to move forward with the case and characterized the incident as a “family squabble“. “It appears to be a family squabble,” the prosecutor said. “I’m sure that neither of the Hunters want it to happen again.” Both Hunter Senior and Hunter Junior put on a united front Tuesday when they arrived at the West Orange Municipal Court together accompanied by attorney Raymond Hamlin. Source: Jennifer Cunningham/Senior Editor for Bossip.com Hunter Sr. said in court that he and his son have patched things up, and don’t currently live together. “My son is currently in school, but we are cool” Hunter said. “Yes, I love my son.” Hunter Jr. was arrested earlier this summer for allegedly attacking his father as they argued over the elder Hunter’s divorce from Williams following his alleged serial infidelity. Source: Tony Forte/WENN Kim Kardashian Wins Missguided Lawsuit Remember when clothing brand Missguided would drop those pics promoting knockoff Kim Kardashian dresses HOURS after Kim posted IG pics? Missguided don’t give a fuck what Kim k has to say pic.twitter.com/Io59WEW0xZ — noush (@anouskamoss_) February 8, 2019 Well while some people thought it was a not so secret collab between Kim and the boutique to up their sales, it looks like Kim wasn’t involved with Missguided at all and their clever marketing’s costing them BIG. TMZ reports that Missguided USA’s been ordered to pay Kim $2.7 million plus $60,000 in legal fees for their unauthorized use of her face, body, and name. Kim sued the company back in February and today a judge ruled that “Missguided has repeatedly used Kardashian’s name and likeness without permission on its social media platforms to promote the sale of its clothing.” The court points out Missguided’s website has entire pages dedicated to selling and knocking off dresses inspired by Kim. The real offense is they’re using photos of Kim to make it seem to consumers she’s associated with the brand. Technically Kim didn’t have to do much to win her suit, Missguided USA never responded so the judge awarded her a default judgment. In addition to the money, the court has permanently blocked Missguided from using Kim’s trademarks. SHEESH. People have been calling Kim and her fellow Kardashians “copycats” for years. Most recently she was accused of copying Rih’s Fenty Savage lingerie with her Kimono Intimates . Despite that, it looks like Kim herself doesn’t’ take too kindly to being copied. Source: SplashNews / Splash News Jordan Craig Claims Tristan Thompson Didn’t Want Her Dating Anyone Even When He Was With Khloe LORDT! The court documents in Jordan Craig’s child support case against Tristan Thompson are truly the gift that keeps on giving. According to RadarOnline.com , in her January 31, 2019 child support battle deposition Craig, 27, testified Thompson, 28, gave her $112,000 soon after she purchased her Los Angeles home in November 2017. When asked by Thompson’s attorney, Peter Lauzon, why she believes her baby daddy gave her that money, Craig replied, “Well, if we really want to put this on here, that was part of a bribe.” When pressed further by Lauzon about the alleged bribe, Craig said in her deposition, “That he [Thompson] would help me if I wasn’t, like, dating anybody or talking to anybody, and that I would have to come see him.” SMH. So basically he was still trying to control Jordan EVEN WHILE HE WAS WITH KHLOE. Jordy admitted during the deposition to accepting the bribe, saying she did so for her son’s sake and explained she used the money to repay loans to her mom and sister who had helped her finance her home. During his deposition, Thompson denied trying to control Jordan but admitted he didn’t want other men around his son Prince, saying: “No one ever said about not see or date anyone. All I please said is, if you’re a single woman, I wanted to request her not to have random men around my child.” Thompson’s attorney Peter Lauzon basically got into a back and forth with Jordy during her deposition challenging her for making expensive renovations, specifically addressing Craig spending $16,000 to remodel Prince’s room to resemble a castle as well as an additional $20,000 for a pool because Prince loves to swim. And while Craig claimed Tristan only saw their son four times in 2018, she revealed in the court documents that around January 2018, Thompson said he wanted to sustain a friendship with her for their son’s sake, but that didn’t last long according to Craig, because Tristan started making demands she deemed unreasonable. “Tristan began requesting to FaceTime with Prince and even began to have Prince and I visit him while he was on the road traveling during the season so that he could spend more time with Prince,” Craig wrote in the affidavit. “This was short lived. Tristan and I remained friends for months, however, he eventually made it clear that he did not want me to ‘see’ or date anyone. I could not agree to this. It became clear to me that his interest was never in Prince when I told him I no longer wanted this type of friendship with him and he became completely absent in Prince’s life.” Crazy right? So while Khloe was pregnant and Tristan was cheating on her with who knows how many women, he was also being possessive of Jordan? It’s worth mentioning that Tristan testified in a January 18, 2019 deposition that he didn’t agree with “many things” from Craig’s statement and claimed he and his friend and family had made repeated attempts to reach Craig so they could see Prince. Do you think this is the last bombshell from the court case? Or should we be expecting more?
Source: Paras Griffin / Getty Rapper Pled Guilty To Menacing Emily B & Her Father Earlier This Year Fabolous has been quietly working to satisfy the terms of his plea deal in connection with allegedly pummeling and threatening reality starlet partner Emily B. The “Throw It In The Bag” rapper has been working to satisfy the terms of his year-long pre-trial intervention program after he pleaded guilty to one count of harassment and copped to threatening Emily and her father with a pair of scissors outside of their northern New Jersey home. Things are going so well, that the judge on the case has not asked Fab, 41, to come back to court to review his progress, and he doesn’t have a court date pending, a court official confirmed to BOSSIP. If he successfully completes the diversion program, his charges will be thrown out and his criminal record wiped clean. Fab initially faced up to 20 years in state prison after prosecutors accused him of punching Emily B so hard that her front teeth had to be removed. Days later, a video emerged of the father of two brandishing a sharp object at his partner and her father and threatening to kill them. We’ve reached out to Fab’s lawyer, Brian Neary, for comment.

Minnie Lindsey sued Rocko – whose real name is Rodney Hill – for negligence last month, accusing the U.O.E.N.O. rapper of abandoning a construction job on the property next door to hers – but not before causing some $15,000 in damages to her place. According to court papers obtained by BOSSIP, Lindsey said that Rocko bought the property next to hers in 2017 and started construction on it. However work stopped about a month later, and Lindsey noticed that her brick retaining wall was removed without her permission. Lindsey’s wall had been securing her property’s fence, and it has since caved in, court papers state. Without the fence, Lindsey’s home garden is eroding, Lindsey’s lawyer, Jenaye Peterson, told BOSSIP. Rocko acquired the previously abandoned property to try to flip it, but may have run out of money for the renovation, Peterson said, adding that she sent him a legal letter, and he responded, promising to fix the wall, but hasn’t. Monica’s son’s father hasn’t responded to the case, probably because Lindsey hasn’t managed to serve him yet. This isn’t the only legal battle that Rocko is fighting. We exclusively revealed that the state Attorney General’s Office sued Rocko on behalf of a woman named Tinashel Phillips over paternity and supporting her daughter. Rocko hasn’t responded in that case either.
Source: Johnny Nunez / Getty Dr. Gregory Lovallo Demands $15K From Rapper & Claims She Was “Unjustly Enriched” By False Insurance Claim A Northern New Jersey urologist has accused Lil Kim of cashing in on an insurance scam all the while failing to pay $15,000 for specialized medical treatment that may have been part of the con. Dr. Gregory Lovallo sued the “All About The Benjamins” rapper earlier this month for breach of contract, saying he provided urology-related health care to Lil Kim – whose real name is Kimberly Jones – but the rapper never paid her $15,000 bill for it. And the urologist alleges that Kim’s treatment may have been related to an insurance scam that she later profited off of. The doctor does not go into detail about what made him suspect that Kim was allegedly part of an insurance scheme, but does say that she was “unjustly enriched” as a result, court papers state. “Based upon information and belief, defendant improperly converted insurance proceeds to his/her own personal use,” Dr. Lovallo’s complaint, which was obtained by BOSSIP, states. “Based upon information and belief, defendant was unjustly enriched.” Source: Johnny Nunez / Getty The doctor wants the $15,000, plus interest and his lawyer’s fees paid. We’ve reached out to Dr. Lovallo’s lawyer for comment. Kim, who filed for bankruptcy last year after admitting owing millions to creditors, hadn’t responded to the case as of May 31. However, if she doesn’t answer the doctor’s complaint by next month, a judge could put her in default over the case.
Source: Shareif Ziyadat / Getty Hov Slapped With Lawsuit For Using An Uncleared Sample According to TMZ , Hov is in a little legal trouble after reportedly not clearing a sample for a song off his “Vol. 2… Hard Knock Life” album. Guitarist Ernie Hines recently filed suit against Hov , Roc-A-Fella Records, Sony Music and Timbaland, claiming they ripped one of his songs from back in 1969 and used it on Jay’s 1998 record “Vol. 2… Hard Knock Life” without his permission and failed to pay him. Hines says his track “Help Me Put Out the Flame (In My Heart)” was sampled for the ‘Vol. 2’ song “Paper Chase” but he didn’t even become aware of it until last year because he claimed he was old and doesn’t listen to rap music. Hines also claims Timbaland also used ‘Help Me’ on Ginuwine’s 1999 album, “100% Ginuwine” — once again without his permission or without any payment. Hines says the songs have been played on a lot of platforms over the years, and that he’s owed a lot of bread. He’s suing for damages exceeding $2 million.
Jamycheal Mitchell died in his cell at the Hampton Roads Jail in Virginia, 3 months after he was arrested for allegedly stealing $5 worth of candy from a 7-Eleven. Conditions at the jail are so bad, the local sheriff now refuses to send arrestees there. https://t.co/vYvhKfdaEn — The Appeal (@theappeal) April 16, 2019 Family Of Jamycheal Mitchell Reaches $3 Million Settlement, Hampton Roads Regional Jail Being Investigated The family of a Virginia man who died in jail has been granted a settlement. Jamycheal Mitchell passed away at the Hampton Roads Regional Jail in Portsmouth, Virginia, on August 19, 2015. He was behind bars for months after he was arrested on charges of trespass and petit larceny for allegedly stealing a 2-liter bottle of Mountain Dew, a king size Snickers bar and a Zebra Cake which accumulated to about $5 worth of snacks from a 7-Eleven. The Appeal recently released an extensive story about Jamycheal’s alleged abuse in the jail. The website notes that Jaymycheal was ordered to receive mental health treatment after he was declared unfit to stand trial. The Virginia man had a history of severe mental disability including a diagnosis of schizoaffective disorder. The treatment did not happen however and he was incarcerated at the Portsmouth correctional facility up until his death. He was allegedly treated poorly all the way up to his demise. “While incarcerated at the jail, correctional officers allegedly struck Mitchell on the knuckles with a flashlight, hurled profanities, mocked him, and called him “dirty,” all as punishment for being uncooperative. When Mitchell was found dead in his cell in August 2015, he was covered in urine. Portsmouth’s chief medical examiner said the cause of death was a “probable cardiac arrhythmia accompanying wasting syndrome of unknown etiology.” His family settled lawsuits against the jail and NaphCare, the company that provided medical services for the jail, for approximately $3 million. Now Hampton Roads Regional jail is continuing to be investigated and the DOJ threatened to sue them if they did not improve conditions in particular for those with mental health issues. The DOJ also criticized the incarceration of 62 people with severe mental illness at Hampton Roads who had booking histories of “minor offenses,” such as shoplifting, trespassing, and violating their probation. Unfortunately, the DOJ’s yet to take action, a delay that could possibly be in part because of the government shutdown. The Appeal reports; “In its December 2018 report, the DOJ gave the jail just over a month and a half to implement its recommendations. The agency also said it would sue if the jail did not “satisfactorily” improve its conditions during that time period. But when the deadline passed in February, the federal government had just emerged from the longest shutdown in history. As of early this month, the DOJ had not followed through on its threat to sue Hampton Roads. (The agency did not respond to The Appeal’s request for comment.) The jail continues to work with the DOJ on its recommendations, Hackworth said. He told The Appeal that he is awaiting more clarity from the agency on its more than 40 recommended remediations, such as auditing of administrative records regularly for completeness and accuracy, ensuring there are improved intake screenings and health assessments, and ending restrictive housing for people who say they are suicidal.” Now The Virginian Pilot reports that an unfortunate fight has broken out between Jamychael’s family members for the settlement money. Jamycheal’s mother’s side of the family is reportedly fighting with his father’s side. “The mother’s side argues they were closer to Jamycheal and deserve most, if not all, of the money. The mother believes she should receive the “majority,” with the half sister receiving a “reasonable” portion. The maternal half-sister wants an equal split between the two. The father’s side said they were all equally close to him. Therefore, they believe they should all receive equal portions: about $215,000 a person. We pray that Jamycheal’s family finds some middle ground and that the DOJ continues to look into a facility where 68 in-custody deaths took place between 2003 and 2018.
Source: Atlantic Records Rapper Accused Of Sexual Battery Against High School Student In 2016 He’s currently facing charges of raping a South Carolina teen three years ago. And Kodak Black may now be realizing how serious his situation is, judging by the docs he just filed in connection with the case. The rapper has asked for more time to mount his defense before his case heads to trial, BOSSIP has learned. Cops have charged Kodak with criminal sexual contact in the first degree following the alleged rape. A high school girl told police that Kodak raped her in his hotel room after a performance, throwing her around and biting her during the alleged assault, according to the affidavit, which was obtained by BOSSIP. Lawyers for the rapper recently argued that they need the delay in legal proceedings in order to prep for trial and to handle issues surrounding the evidence in the case. That may mean he’ll plan to contest a judge’s order for his DNA after investigators said they found what they believe is his genes on his alleged victim. Kodak’s paperwork said that the state solicitor didn’t object, so a judge signed off on it, according to the motion. No trial date has been set, but if he’s convicted, he faces up to 30 years in state prison. Kodak’s rape case isn’t the only legal battle he’s fighting. Last week, cops busted the “Zeze” rapper with guns and weed after he accidentally drove into Canada while on his way to a performance.
Source: Courtesy of NEON / Courtesy of NEON New Film “Amazing Grace” Charts Aretha Franklin’s Live Recording Of Gospel Album A new documentary about Aretha Franklin promises to show the Queen of Soul in a way many fans have never seen her. Gone are the fur coats, gowns and jewelry that typified the gospel and soul singer’s larger than life persona in recent years for the new film “Amazing Grace.” Instead, the then afro-sporting 29-year-old is stripped back and lets her voice do most of the talking. “This Aretha Franklin is a little bit different,” “Amazing Grace” producer Tirrell Whitley told BOSSIP. “She was just coming out of the 60s Black Power Movement, she’s wearing her afro….The experience of Aretha Franklin at the age of 29 at the peak of her power.” Franklin recorded the live performance in 1972 over two nights in a South Central L.A. church in front of an audience that included her father the Rev. C.L. Franklin, gospel greats Clara Ward and Mother Ward, the Rolling Stones Mick Jagger and Charlie Watts. Source: Courtesy of NEON / Courtesy of NEON Her resulting album, “Amazing Grace,” went double platinum, won a Grammy, and went on to be the Frankin’s best selling album of her career, Whitley said. Because the footage was shot out of sync, it sat in a vault for almost 40 years before a film company was able to sync the footage with the audio. Although the movie does have imperfections like out of focus shots, Whitley said that it was Franklin who pulls everything together. “The great thing is that the film had excellence in the making and her voice carries it through,” he said, adding that Franklin gave the film her blessing before she passed away last year aged 76. Whitley said the film is ideal for sororities, churches and other groups to screen. “This film takes you to church and it ministers to you in a unique way,” he said. “Amazing Grace” is now in theaters nationwide.
