Source: WENN / WENN Representation and inclusivity were big at the Globes this year — and Korean-American actress Sandra Oh made history as the first Asian woman to win the Golden Globe for Best TV Drama Actress in nearly 40 years, since Yoko Shimada won the award in 1981 for Shogun. Oh is only the second Asian woman to win in the category ever and the third Asian actress to win any acting Golden Globe. She also co-hosted the show with Andy Sanberg! Formerly announced honorees include Martin Lawrence and Mariah Carey, and now legendary director Hype Williams is being added to that list. Williams was undoubtedly the most sought after video director in the ’90s and well into the 2000’s…he’s still directing the industry’s finest visuals in 2017. His videos helped all of the most important artists in the industry and include Wu-Tang Clan, Usher, Kanye West, Mary J. Blige, LL Cool J, Notorious B.I.G., Tupac, Nas, Diddy, DMX….the names are literally endless. Though he’s been at the helm of a lot of everyone’s favorite hip hop music videos in the past few decades, Hype remains one of the most creative individuals and his videos retain qualities specific to his style. For your viewing pleasure… Who Looked More Bangin’ At The MTV Movie Awards Last night’s MTV Movie Awards brought out Hollywood’s best in film and entertainment and black girl magic was overflowing. Amber Rose poured that bangin’ baaawdy into a racy red number… while Yara Shahidi looked cute and classy in mixed prints. Supermodel Jourdan Dunn looked retro glam on the carpet… and Tracee Ellis Ross wore a vibrant wrap dress. Fellow 40+ banger Taraji P.Henson shimmered in rose gold… and (auntie) Maxine Waters posed with Tracee and Taraji after presenting on stage. So Many Bangers On The SAG Awards Red Carpet, Who Looked Best? Such a tough decision to make here. We thought so many of the ladies looked lovely on last night’s SAG Awards red carpet, we had a hard time deciding which looks to highlight. Taraji P. Henson was definitely one of our faves, along with Kerry Washington, Viola Davis, Thandie Newton, Jurnee Smollett and Tracee Ellis Ross. This dress was definitely a winner in our book!
