In this edition of How The Jackson World Turns… TJ Jackson, the nephew of Michael Jackson, has been named by a court as the temporary guardian of MJ’s three kids, Paris, Prince and Blanket. The legal maneuver was necessary because Katherine Jackson – who has served in this capacity for the past three years – has been out of contact with the children for over 10 days now, since a few of her kids took her away to Arizona. “This is not a power play by TJ Jackson,” L.A. Superior Court Judge Mitchell L. Beckloff said at an emergency hearing. “This is based on the allegation that Katherine Jackson is being prevented from acting as guardian.” Katherine’s attorney was also present and said there’s “reason to believe” her client is “being held against her will.” But that is supposedly changing now, as Randy Jackson appeared today on Good Morning America and said his mother is on her way back to California. It appears as though Randy’s scheme – to convince his mom to challenge the authenticity of Michael’s will because he’s upset it does not name him or any siblings as benefactors – has fallen apart and he is being forced to cave in to public pressure. Last night, Marlon Jackson broke down during an interview, pleading to learn the whereabouts of his mother.
Here is the latest in the ever-growing Jackson family saga: With Katherine Jackson supposedly safe and sound in Arizona, Marlon, Tito and Jackie Jackson appeared on The Insider yesterday and expressed consternation and anger over the whereabouts of their mother. “We’ve been told that our mother is safe,” Marlon told Kevin Frazier. “She’s doing well. But we have not spoken to her. We have not talked to her and I don’t know where my mother is.” The brother of Michael Jackson then choked up and grew animated. He lashed out: “All I know is she is in Arizona, and whatever doctor is saying I can’t talk to my mother you call ME!” Marlon’s sibling, Randy, claims he whisked Katherine off to Arizona under doctor’s orders. But no one has been able to explain why she’s gone nearly two weeks now without making any contact with some of her kids and all three of her grandchildren. As a result of this mystery, TJ Jackson is pursuing legal avenues to take over guardianship of Paris, Prince and Blanket (MJ’s daughter and sons). Most believe this giant mess is related to Michael Jackson’s will, which is being contested by Randy Jackson because it leaves the entirety of the singer’s estate to his children and he’s now using Katherine to try and get the document invalidated. Tito Jackson, however, backed away from that plot this week, publicly stating that he wanted nothing to do with a letter sent by Jermaine, Janet, Rebbie and Randy that challenged the authority and actions of the executor’s of MJ’s will. “I completely retract my signature from the July 17th letter sent to the Executors of my brother Michael’s estate and repudiate all the claims made against them,” Tito told TMZ. “I don’t want any part of that letter whatsoever.”

The four-hour show at the 75,000-capacity Millennium Stadium will be broadcast via satellite on pay-per-view and into movie theaters with a cast of big-name performers whose identities have not yet been revealed. At the Beverly Hills press conference on Monday revealing the details of the “Michael Forever” show, Jackson family matriarch Katherine was joined by sons Tito, Jackie and Marlon and daughter LaToya; siblings Jermaine, Randy, Janet and estranged husband Joe were not in attendance. “When I was told some of the names of the artists performing, I knew it would be fit for a king. If my son was here today he would feel the same way, and so I’d like to say thank you very much for helping to keep my son’s legacy alive,” Katherine Jackson said of Michael, who died in June 2009 of a heart attack caused by a prescription drug overdose. According to Wales Online , the show will feature artists Jackson admired and will celebrate the 40th anniversary of the start of his solo career. “I will be there along with as many members of my family that can make it,” Katherine said. “It is intended to be the biggest and best concert in the world for many years to come.” Sister LaToya added, “This event is far, far overdue. He was an entertainer who I feel no one can ever stand up to or hold a candle to as far as his talent is concerned. This tribute will be something spectacular and I know that he would approve.” One of the show’s producers said that despite taking place in a large stadium, the building’s roof will be closed to create a more intimate atmosphere. Proceeds from the show will benefit three charities Jackson supported: the Prince’s Trust, AIDS Project Los Angeles and a cancer charity. The show’s lineup will be announced on August 3. As with many things related to MJ’s legacy, there was controversy, as brothers Randy and Jermaine said they thought the timing of the show was inappropriate. In a statement, the two said, “While we wholeheartedly support the spirit of a tribute that honors our brother, we find it impossible to support an event that is due to take place during the criminal trial surrounding Michael’s death. As everyone knows, those proceedings commence September 20.” That date is when Jackson’s former doctor, Conrad Murray , is slated to go on trial for manslaughter charges in the singer’s death. Jermaine attempted to put on a tribute concert to his late brother in September 2009, but the show fell apart after many of the top acts were unable to commit to the event.
