Amy Lee Skates To Detention On ‘When I Was 17’

Evanescence singer, Theophilus London and Chris Klein featured on new episode, airing Saturday at 11 a.m. ET on MTV. By Nuzhat Naoreen Amy Lee on “When I Was 17” Photo: MTV From accomplished vocalist to skilled pianist, Evanescence singer Amy Lee has plenty of talents to boast. But in the latest episode of “When I Was 17,” airing Saturday, Amy reveals another skill that might surprise her fans: roller skating. In the episode, the singer-songwriter recounts how skating around her high school hallways landed her in some serious trouble. “When I was 17, our school had really slick floors. There was this really big hall, and it was perfect for roller skating,” the singer says. So, Amy decided to take advantage of the situation. “The halls are empty when people are in class, and if it’s just study hall or art or whatever, then why not go for a little skate?” Her “little skate” however wasn’t without its consequences. “I don’t know why I thought that that would be good,” she says. “So, I was skating by myself. Total nerd. And some other teacher was in the hall, and I skated by, and she was like, ‘Detention!’ ” While detention is a pretty common punishment for misbehaving high school students, it caught Amy’s father off-guard. “It was a little bit of a big deal. She got in trouble, and Amy typically never got in trouble,” says her father, John. Of course, even back in high school, Amy found a way to translate her experience with the teacher who sent her to detention into something creative. “One of my art pieces after that was her getting skated over by a giant skate,” Amy says. “When I Was 17,” also featuring Theophilus London and Chris Klein, airs Saturday at 11 a.m. ET on MTV. T.I. Disputes Reason For His Return To Prison

Lawyer says Tip wasn’t told he could only travel with his wife during halfway-house transfer. By Rob Markman T.I. (file) Photo: Moses Robinson/ WireImage If T.I. was only allowed to travel with his wife when he moved from an Arkansas prison to an Atlanta halfway house last week, no one told him. “Bureau of Prison officials did not specifically state at any time that T.I. was limited to being in the vehicle with his wife and no one else,” Tip’s attorney Steve Sadow told MTV News. “There is nothing that was specifically instructed or directed on this.” On Thursday (September 8), TMZ published an incident report that said T.I. was on the bus with his wife, his manager and two VH1 producers. His manager and the television producers were not authorized to be aboard the bus, according to the report. The report also suggested that T.I. was conducting business during the interstate ride — a violation of his furlough. According to T.I.’s lawyer, however, the Federal Bureau of Prisons didn’t communicate any stipulations on how the August 31 transfer was to be handled. T.I. filled out a Furlough Application, which MTV News has obtained , in which he declared he would travel from Forrest City Prison to the Atlanta halfway house via a “private owned vehicle” and that he would be traveling with his wife Tameka Harris. “It doesn’t say “list all of the individuals that you are going to be with” or “you may not be with anyone else,” ” Sadow said. Click to see the Furlough Application, exclusively obtained by MTV News. MTV News has learned that the Trap Muzik rapper is now being held in United States Penitentiary in Atlanta until he is able to schedule a disciplinary hearing. Regardless of the outcome, T.I. will have satisfied his 11-month probation-violation sentence and be released from custody September 29. Initially, it was reported that T.I. was sent back to prison because the luxury tour bus in which he traveled wasn’t an acceptable mode of transportation. The rapper’s lawyer stressed that, at the moment, these are just allegations, but contends that T.I. did nothing wrong. “He had no reason to think there would be a problem traveling with these particular people, because his manager had been approved for visitation and had seen him several times at the facility in Arkansas and the producer had been approved for visitation and had seen him several times,” his attorney said. As far as the issue of whether T.I. was discussing business on the bus, Sadow made it clear that he already had a deal with VH1 for a new reality series and a separate book deal in place before the transfer. The best possible outcome at this point for the rapper is that, after his discipline hearing, he would be cleared of any wrong doing and returned to the halfway house, but as of now, no date for the hearing has been set. MTV News reached out to the Federal Bureau of Prisons and a VH1 press representative, both of whom declined to comment for this story. Related Artists T.I.

The Game Robbed While Christmas Shopping

The rapper claims that he had valuables stolen from a friend’s car while they visited an L.A.-area mall on Christmas Eve. By Jayson Rodriguez The Game Photo: Moses Robinson/ WireImage It wasn’t exactly Yuletide blessings over at The Game’s house during holidays. The Los Angeles rapper claims that he was robbed on Christmas Eve. He vented his frustrations via Twitter , saying robbers relieved him and a friend of a luxury travel bag, jewelry and cash while his associate’s car was parked in valet outside of a local mall. “So, heres my day: tried 2 do last minute shoppin 4 da kids & valet stole a Louis Duffle out @ avanterose ‘s car & we 2 chains & $75,000 short,” The Game wrote in several messages . “So police come & guess who get patted down ? Yea, US !!! then they tell us da palmtree was blocking the crime scene on the tape.” According to the rapper, he’s going to search for justice by his own means. He threatened the Topanga Mall Nordstrom valet drivers with an offer to deliver them gifts after the holiday. The Game, however, noted that he and his associate are both on probation, so they couldn’t properly voice their displeasure with the valet employees while police were present. Last month, The Game attempted to reconcile with former mentor 50 Cent once again. The Compton native reached out to the G-Unit head honcho via Twitter about rejoining the crew populated by Fif, Lloyd Banks and Tony Yayo. (Young Buck, like Game, was ousted by 50 for being disloyal.) “@50cent Aye n—a, get on twitter & let’s get this sh– movin !!! G-G-G-G- well, you know the rest,” Game’s note to 50 read. “@50cent All it take is ‘ONE PHONE CALL’! U call me, I call BUCK, tell Banks holla at Yayo & dat puts HIP HOP @ OUR MERCY! #UknowUcdisN—A. Anybody don’t like it, F— YALL!!!” 50 questioned Game’s sincerity and dismissed the olive branch, though, saying the rapper’s motive was to promote his long-delayed release, The R.E.D. Album . T.I., Christina Aguilera Collabo Is ‘Amazing,’ Alex Da Kid Says

‘Castle Walls’ will serve as the next single off the rapper’s No Mercy , due out December 7. By James Dinh, with reporting by Tim Kash T.I. Photo: Moses Robinson/ WireImage Producer Alex Da Kid might be relatively new to the industry, but the British hitmaker has already proven that he can strike gold when bringing together artists of different musical genres. With production credits on summertime scorchers like “Airplanes” (B.o.B and Hayley Williams) and “Love the Way You Lie” (Eminem and Rihanna), the 27-year-old music mind reveals he’s now trying his hand with another duo: T.I. and Christina Aguilera. While on the American Music Awards red carpet, Kid spoke to MTV News about “Castle Walls,” the track he produced for the recently incarcerated rapper’s forthcoming album, which features the pop star. Not only did the producer reveal that the song is set to be the next single off Tip’s No Mercy , but he also gushed about how the song will grab a variety of listeners. “It’s going to be T.I.’s next single,” he told MTV News about the collabo. “I love it. I think it’s amazing. It’s my sound, just kind of an evolution of that. I think it’ll cater to a lot of different people.” A reported snippet of the track minus T.I. surfaced on the Internet a few weeks ago and finds Aguilera gently singing over a steady, mellow beat about the downfalls of loneliness: “Everyone thinks that I have it all/ But it’s so empty living behind these castle walls (These castle walls)/ If I should tumble if I should fall/ Would anyone hear me screaming behind these castle walls?/ There’s no one here at all, behind these castle walls.” “Castle Walls” isn’t the only star-studded effort on the MC’s new album. No Mercy will also feature appearances from Eminem, Kanye West, Chris Brown and The-Dream. The ATL rapper’s collaboration with Em, “All She Wrote,” leaked online last Tuesday. Rick Ross Responds To Young Jeezy Taunts

‘If you really have an issue, put it on the table and handle it like a G,’ Miami Don says after Jeezy dis video surfaces online. By Alvin Blanco Rick Ross Photo: Moses Robinson/ Getty Images Rick Ross and Young Jeezy and are not on the best of terms. The two heavyweight rappers, who happen to be Def Jam labelmates, have been immersed in a war of words for months now and the tension seems to be boiling over. The latest in the Ross vs. Jeezy imbroglio was triggered after video surfaced on the Net showing Young Jeezy saying sly remarks about his rival after a performance in Miami. In the footage Jeezy is seen walking the streets of MIA with an entourage in tow. Asked how he feels “about the Rick Ross thing,” the Atlanta MC sarcastically responds, “Where is your favorite rapper at? I don’t see that n—a.” Moments later, Jeezy pulls his shirt up to reveal he has a gun on his waistband. Although he never names the Miami rapper by name, it’s easy to infer the jabs are directed at Ross. The Teflon Don MC was recently in the U.K., where he visited the BBC’s Tim Westwood , and the topic of Jeezy’s rant came up. “Man, I actually got to see the footage of him walking on South Beach, down Collins Ave. and … Yeah, he played himself,” Ross said. “You gotta come across the bridge to Carol City to Lil Haiti, that’s where you get your issues. I mean, Washington Ave.? Give me a break, baby.” Ross continued, “What’s crazy about that is, as you can see on that same footage, when they asked about my name, they still don’t really have a direct answer, and that ain’t gangster at all. If you really have an issue, put it on the table and handle it like a G.” The two rappers have at times downplayed any beef between them. Rick Ross’ anthemic summer hit “B.M.F. (Blowin’ Money Fast)” name-checks Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory on its chorus. (The leader of the infamous Black Mafia Family, or BMF, Flenory is currently serving a 30-year prison sentence.) But Jeezy’s association with BMF pre-dates his rise to hip-hop prominence. And there was speculation that Ross’ track didn’t sit well with Jeezy, who in turn dropped “Death B4 Dishonor,” widely believed to be a shot at Ross. Jeezy, however, denied it was a dis track. The two MCs are no strangers to rap beef — Jeezy has previously sparred with Gucci Mane, and Ross with 50 Cent. What do you make of the tension between Jeezy and Ross?
