Introducing Warehouse 13’s Relic Roundup: H.G. Wells, Bad Guy?

I know why you watch Warehouse 13. It’s not for the Mulder and Scully-like partnership between Pete and Myka, or for Claudia’s sharp glibness or for the generous doses of steampunk. It’s all about the relics — the apologetically cheesy, ultra-satisfying history tweaks that make SyFy’s sophomore drama the best thing the network has spawned since last year’s post- Battlestar Galactica rebranding. And, yeah, of course a little steampunk flavoring never hurt anyone. And so, delightfully cheesy artifacts fresh in mind, behold Movieline’s compendium of those relics from last night’s season-two premiere Time Will Tell, ranked by covetability.

Awesome Report: Rob Lowe Buying Miramax

The most insane acquisition rumor ever has arrived courtesy of TMZ, which reports this morning that Rob Lowe (aka the Next Oprah ) and his new business partners are planning a takeover of Miramax Films from Disney. No, seriously. “Rob Lowe and mogul Tom Barrack have set their sights on their first big acquisition as a team — Miramax Films,” the site notes. “We’re told the deal is being put together quickly and could close as early as today.” Right. If this happens I will watch the budding mogul’s 1989 “Proud Mary” Oscar horror show 100 times consecutively, with reaction video to follow. Developing… [ TMZ ]

First Image of Colin Farrell in Horrible Bosses Gets Ugly

Before heading off to fantasyland to star in that imaginary production of the Ozzy Osbourne biopic , Colin Farrell has some actual work to do: Like film Horrible Bosses ! As one of the titular horrors, the former troublemaker is part of an overwhelmingly large cast — the likes of which haven’t been seen since, well, Margin Call . Though if the first image of Farrell on the set is any indication, he’s going to be the one boss you remember. Unless, of course, Jennifer Aniston’s boss lady grows a second head or something. Click ahead to witness the horror.

Lost Alumni Books SVU Guest Role

Fresh off pulling a giant Styrofoam pillar out of a hole in the center of the island on Lost , Henry Ian Cusick has found his way onto another network show. The erstwhile Desmond has booked a two-episode appearance on the upcoming season of Law & Order: SVU , where he’ll play a potential love interest for Mariska Hargitay’s detective. No word yet on how much electromagnetism and/or shirtlessness will be involved, but expect at least some. Also, spoiler alert: He’s a guest star, so any romance with a lead will be short lived. Universal, Best Buy Endorse Cell Phone Use During Despicable Me

So there’s good news and there’s bad news regarding Despicable Me . Good news first, because we all need it: Some more information has emerged about the film, a 3D animated whatsit we teamed up to learn more about last week. Apparently it opens Friday, and now, not a minute too soon, there’s some real promotion happening. The bad news: It involves using your iPhone or other smart-phone device while the movie is playing . But there’s good news about that, too! Sort of.

Man Dies at Eclipse Screening

An unidentified 23-year-old New Zealand man was found dead Sunday night following a screening of Eclipse . Police in Wellington say the man had attended alone and was discovered slumped over in his seat when the lights came up; paramedics’ attempts to revive him were unsuccessful. This is the first reported Twilight -related death since the movie franchise launched a little less than two years ago, but it shouldn’t be the last; fans are expected to die in two parts as well as in 3-D when Breaking Dawn emerges a year from now. Friday Box Office: Eclipse Overshadows Airbender

The Sparkly Vampire Clan of Forks, WA easily topped the De-Asianed Trio of Heroes on Friday, as Eclipse pulled in more than $28 million on Friday night to add to their already sizeable $68 million opening day. That’s an impressive chunk of change that’ll buy plenty of promise rings and pre-torn jean cut-offs for the whole cast. Meanwhile, the Worst Reviewed Movie in the History of the World managed to sucker in more than $16 million its opening day, but look for that number to plummet as the weekend continues and the toxic word of mouth travels. The stalwart Toy Story 3 , the urine-soaked Grown-Ups , and the failure-flavored Knight and Day made up the rest of the Top 5. Check out the complete numbers after the jump.

Scream 4 Script Rewrites Causing Major Trouble Among Cast?

Since Scream 4 updates apparently happen hourly , here’s your latest: Screenwriter Kevin Williamson has already been replaced on the set by Scream 3 writer Ehren Kruger. And now Kruger — the man responsible in part for the immortal Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen script — is handling the rewrites and apparently leaving the cast quite unhappy. The changes reportedly caused Lauren Graham to drop out and are upsetting Hayden Panetierre, whose role has been “dumbed down significantly.” Just wait until she’s allowed to read the finished script.
