Punxsutawney Phil: Groundhog Day Weather King Set to Nail it This Year?

Punxsutawney Phil, the rodent, the myth, the Groundhog Day legend, is gearing up to make his annual prediction early Monday morning, LIVE from the Keystone State. What will he see at the break of dawn on February 2?! Will there be a shadow sighting, thus signaling six more weeks of winter? Or will he foresee an early spring, a respite from the snow and bitter cold? Only Punxsutawney Phil can say for sure. Groundhog Day, of course, is when the affable, rotund rodent that gives the fun “holiday” its name emerges from Gobbler’s Knob in Punxsutawney, Pa. He either sees his shadow or he doesn’t. A lot rides on this. If there’s a Phil shadow sighting at daybreak tomorrow, six more weeks of winter will follow. No shadow? Early spring baby! In the last 117 years, Punxsutawney Phil has predicted the coming of “early spring” a mere 16 times, not a big surprise since he lives in Western Pennsylvania. One of those times was 2013, when he projected an early spring, only to see record snowfall totals fall on much of the U.S. not even a week later. Punxsutawney Phil actually got sued by one Ohio county as a result of this call, although his handler took the blame and the case never made it to court. It’s a cautionary tale, however, and a reminder that even the best of us have an off year, no matter what we do. We are only human. Or groundhogs. Jerry Garcia Hologram to Perform Two Shows With Grateful Dead

The living members of The Grateful Dead have announced two exclusive shows this summer featuring a hologram version of late frontman Jerry Garcia. Jerry Garcia (1942-1995) Stemming from the success of the Tupac hologram Coachella performance of 2012, the Dead will be bringing Jerry back to his old stomping grounds. The performances in New York and San Francisco, at Madison Square Garden and the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium, respectively, are set for July. According to reports, the virtual Garcia was created by HoloJams , a company devoted to capturing beloved dead rock musicians in hologram form. While some may find this decision controversial, the move is aimed at younger Dead fans who never had the chance to see the real Jerry Garcia. The hard-living rock legend died in 1995 at the age of 53. About the use of hologram Jerry Garcia, CEO Sam Watts said, “We’re very excited that The Grateful Dead have decided to use our holographic Jerry.” Tupac Coachella Performance “Once we ensure that these performances are well-received, there’s no telling what we’ll do,” he says. “We could even be looking at a nationwide tour.” The Hologram Jerry has been programmed from over hundreds of hours of Grateful Dead performances, predominantly from the late ’60s and early ’70s. “We wanted to capture Jerry at his finest,” says Watts. The company founder also gushed about his other holograms, including a Freddie Mercury, Jimi Hendrix, and even Paul McCartney … who is still alive. Kris Jenner: Pressuring Bruce Jenner to Deny Sex Change Rumors?

Last week, Kris Jenner reportedly got upset about a Bruce Jenner tabloid cover that showed the Olympian and reality star done up in full makeup and sporting a woman’s scarf. The image was clearly photoshopped, but sources say Kris was fuming mad, regardless. Now, insiders are claiming that the constant Bruce Jenner sex change rumors have taken such a toll on Kris that she’s begun begging her ex to issue a denial. The only problem is – the rumors don’t seem to bother Bruce at all: “Kris has been pressuring Bruce to issue a statement about ongoing sex change rumors, and she wants it to be a very strong denial,” an unidentified friend tells Radar Online.  “She believes that putting out a statement would stop these ongoing rumors and she doesn’t understand why Bruce won’t do it. But whenever the subject comes up, Bruce just shuts her down. This is extremely sensitive for Bruce and it’s her choice not to address it.” Part of the reason for Bruce’s silence on the subject could that he’s preparing a different kind of statement. Joseph Morrisey Wins Election From Jail A VA lawmaker recently won a special election despite being incarcerated and despite being involved in a sex scandal surrounding a 17-year-old girl. Politico reports:  A Virginia state delegate who resigned his seat due to a sex scandal involving a teenage staff member won a special election to regain his seat on Tuesday and will be sworn in Wednesday for the beginning of the legislative session. Joseph Morrissey, an independent who previously served as a Democrat, won the special election over Republican Matt Walton and Democrat Kevin Sullivan. Morrissey resigned in December after pleading guilty to misdemeanor charges for contributing to the delinquency of a minor, rather than face felony charges including possession of child pornography, indecent liberties with a minor and electronic solicitation of a minor. The Virginia delegate entered the special election for his old seat from jail, campaigning during the daytime while wearing a monitoring device and spending his nights in Henrico county’s Regional Jail East. He is the first Virginia lawmaker to win reelection while serving time in jail, Virginia House of Delegates Clerk G. Paul Nardo confirmed. Morrissey was indicted in June 2014 for allegedly having sex multiple times with a 17-year-old girl in his law office, in addition to possessing a nude photograph of the minor and sending the photograph to a friend. Miley Cyrus has never exactly been shy about her love for marijuana. She’s donned pot pasties . She’s said Instagram is more dangerous than weed . And she’s openly talked about smoking on her social media accounts. But the artist is doing a lot more than mere talking in the following picture. Around midnight on Friday, the former Disney star shared an image of herself seemingly taking a hit from what seems to be a blunt that’s larger than her entire head. “@Cheythom officially rolls daaaaa fatttttesssst f–king bluntz evvaaaaa tripppple fuckkkinnnn barrel,” Cyrus wrote as a gushing caption to the photograph. Wow. Talk about a high compliment (get it?!?). In an interview with Rolling Stone in 2013, the singer admitted that she believes “weed is the best drug on Earth,” explaining: “Hollywood is a coke town, but weed is so much better. And molly, too. Those are happy drugs – social drugs. They make you want to be with friends. You’re out in the open. You’re not in a bathroom. I really don’t like coke. It’s so gross and so dark. New years. Same old Kylie Jenner. A day after sister Kendall Jenner posted a revealing photo to Instagram of herself in a teeny, tiny bikini , Kylie has gone ahead and flashed her flat abs for followers. Proving she wasn’t too hungover to remember the date, the 17-year old simply wrote “1/1/15” as the caption to this image: Jenner is also showing off her showing off her perfectly manicured nails as she grips her cell phone (i.e. her most prized possession) in the photograph. It follows a year in which Kendall and Kylie nearly surpassed their more famous half-sister, Kim Kardashian in terms of attention. And how did they accomplish this feat? By following Kim’s lead and starring in a sex tape doing pretty much nothing except posing for intimate pictures. It’s unclear, meanwhile, just what Kylie Jenner did on New Year’s Eve, but she shared a photo at one point of herself partying somewhere in Los Angeles, as she wore an eye-catching small red dress and a Happy New Year crown. Khloe Kardashian to Rob Kardashian: Get it Together or I’ll EVICT YOU!

Feel like you haven’t heard much about Rob Kardashian in awhile? That’s ’cause you haven’t. He’s reportedly been holed up at Khloe’s house, and she’s not happy about it. Struggling with weight gain and substance abuse issues, the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star has become increasingly isolated from the world. Except for Khloe Kardashian. But possibly from her soon, as well. The youngest of Kris Jenner and Robert Kardashian Sr.’s four children, Rob Jr. has been crashing with Khloe, with whom he has long been very close. Well, that relationship too has taken a sharp turn for the worse. “Khloe is fed up with Rob and his lazy mooching,” a source dished.. “He hasn’t made any attempt at getting work, going to therapy, getting help, giving up drugs.” We’re talking going weeks without leaving the mansion here. “He just orders food, smokes pot and spends hours watching TV and playing video games,” the insider says. “He sleeps all day and stays up all night.” According to reports, Khloe recently decided to try her sisters’ advice of giving him until December 1 to move out. Suffice it to say, that advice didn’t take. However, Khloe has allegedly told Momager Kris Jenner that she will strongly “consider legal action to force him out if he’s not out of there by January.” Legal action? Rob bailed on Kim Kardashian’s wedding to Kanye West, in dramatic fashion, due to his insecurity issues, ones that have only worsened in the last six months. Even a reported stint in rehab and some tough love from his sisters have yet to help Rob get it together. But is Khloe serious about evicting her brother? We can’t imagine that happening, especially if there’s a possibility of Khloe becoming Mrs. Odom again. Rob and Lamar, too, were extremely close. Stay tuned. Aviva Drescher Throws Prosthetic Leg During Epic Bar Fight!

If you thought The Real Housewives of New York City had shown you every kind of drama under the sun, think again. According to sources on set, next week’s season finale will feature an “epic” cat fight in which several of the ladies get violently tipsy during dinner, and one of them commits an act of violence never before seen on reality TV. Page Six reports that after a “wild argument” breaks out among the cast, Aviva Drescher “yells what do you want? Do you want me to crawl out of here?” The insider continues, “All the while she’s shimmying out of her prosthetic leg under the table.” She then throws the limb at her antagonist in plain view of other patrons. We may never know if she was really that mad or just trying to save her job following rumors that the entire cast of RHONY will be fired . Either way, that’s how you bring the drama. Drescher lost the leg in a childhood accident and has sported a high-end prosthetic ever since. No stranger to bad blood, Aviva has butted heads with cast mates in the past and an unexpected feud between Drescher and Lea Michele heated up as a result of the reality star’s beef with Carole Radziwill. Despite her many past disagreements, however, as far as we know this is the first time that Aviva got so hopping mad that she tossed her own limb. Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin wanted the world to believe they were above the ugliness of divorce and prove to us through ” conscious uncoupling ” that married couples can split peacefully and remain best friends. While that may be true, it seems Chris and Gwyneth  can’t pull it off.  Countless affair rumors have emerged since the couple separated, alleging that Chris and Gwyneth were both sleeping around regularly. Now it seems the source of some of these details may have been none other than Gwyneth herself.  Radar Online reports that Chris believes Gwyneth is the one leaking rumors about his affairs and feeding the press lies about what a negligent father he is.  A source close to Chris says he suspects Gwyneth of launching a full-blown smear campaign in “an effort to sully his image and make him look less sympathetic.” And why would Gwinnie go to such trouble?
