(Photo by Joe Raedle/Getty Images) Chemical In McDonald’s French Fries Could Cure Baldness McDonald’s french fry grease could be used to regrow long gone follicles if you have bald spots. A stem cell research team from Yokohama National University regrew hair on mice by using dimethylpolysiloxane, the silicone added to McDonald’s fries to stop cooking oil from frothing according to Newsweek . Tests indicated that the groundbreaking method was likely to be just as successful when transferred to human skin cells. According to the study , released in the Biomaterials journal last Thursday, the breakthrough came after the scientists successfully mass-produced “hair follicle germs” (HFG) which were created for the first time ever in this way. HFGs, cells that drive follicle development, are considered the holy grail in hair-loss research. The scientists said use of dimethylpolysiloxane was crucial to the advancement. “The key for the mass production of HFGs was a choice of substrate materials for the culture vessel,” Professor Junji Fukuda, of Yokohama National University, said in the study . “We used oxygen-permeable dimethylpolysiloxane (PDMS) at the bottom of culture vessel, and it worked very well.” The study adds this fun picture of hair sprouting on the back of a balding mouse. C onservative media outlets and their angry followers are maligning a Boston University theater professor on social media because she published a history of “Jingle Bells” that said it has racist roots. But her research is part of a necessary examination into this county’s racist past that should not exempt Christmas traditions. RELATED: Morgan State Student Documentary Explores Racist National Anthem Lyrics “The legacy of ‘Jingle Bells’ is one where its blackface and racist origins have been subtly and systematically removed from its history,” Kyna Hamill wrote in her research paper . She added that “attention to the circumstances of its performance history enables reflection on its problematic role in the construction of Blackness and Whiteness in the United States.” CHRISTMAS CONTROVERSY: Boston University Professor claims ‘Jingle Bells’ is a racist song pic.twitter.com/ko4ULQz1Ys — FOX & friends (@foxandfriends) December 14, 2017 The first documented performance of the Christmas jingle, written by James Pierpont , was in blackface at a theater in Boston in 1857, Hamill told Fox News . Its origins emerged from the racial politics of pre-Civil War Boston and from a group of commercial blackface performers traveling between Boston and New York. Hamill, who’s White, is not calling for the death of “Jingle Bells.” What she’s doing should be seen in the same light as the movement to delve into the racist past at educational institutions. None of that changes the past, but a simple acknowledgement goes a long way toward healing. That’s the case at Georgetown University , when the administration publicly recognized the wrongdoing and debt it owed to a mass slave sale in the 19th century that kept the institution alive. Harvard University’s president also understood that moving forward from racial conflict on campus required acknowledging that it was complicit in the slave trade. A fter being fired , Omarosa Manigault could redeem her sunken self by marching straight into special counsel Bob Mueller’s office and telling him everything she knows about Russian collusion with her now-former boss’ administration. But the question is, will she? Because of her close association with the president and her exclusive access in the White House, she may have been privy to some damning information that could help bring about the demise of the president and his associates. Omarosa: “Dear Mueller, I come to you with critical information that you will find useful in your current investigation regarding Russian interference….” pic.twitter.com/qgBD2zVi2Z — Professor Freez (@proffreez) December 13, 2017 The former “Apprentice” star-turned presidential adviser was reportedly forcibly removed from the White House late Tuesday night around the time the Donald Trump -endorsed and accused pedophile Republican Roy Moore lost Alabama’s special election for the Senate. Black women in particular were credited for helping to push Doug Jones past the finish line in Tuesday’s election, a factor that likely added to the burden of being the lone African-American woman in the White House, according to BuzzFeed News. READ MORE: Omarosa Just Got Fired By Trump For The Second Time “She struggled with being an African-American senior staffer, with all the racial incidents in the White House, and I think it was starting to weigh on her,” an anonymous White House staffer told BuzzFeed News . White House correspondent and Washington bureau chief for American Urban Radio Networks tweeted a vivid picture of the episode that may as well have included Omarosa removing her earrings and shoes in preparation for a street fight at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. Okay the White House still contends Omarosa signed a resignation letter. But Gen Kelly Kicked her out will high drama with the Minister offering vulgarities and curse words as she was escorted out of the building and off campus — AprilDRyan (@AprilDRyan) December 13, 2017 Because of that alleged treatment, Omarosa could easily be compelled to snitch on the very man who launched her career (and fired her twice). Chances are she’ll eventually join the chorus of witnesses subpoenaed by Mueller to help bolster his case against the president and his top associates’ alleged efforts to rig the 2016 election. Omarosa was fired. She didn’t resign. She was fired. Just like Flynn, Spicer, Reince, The Mooch, Bannon & Trump’s other minions who are now all great witnesses for Mueller. Omarosa was fired. Period. — Scott Dworkin (@funder) December 13, 2017 It reportedly took Trump’s infamous “both sides” response to last summer’s White nationalist violence in Charlottesville to rouse Omarosa from her apparent slumber. Shortly afterward, reports emerged that White House Chief of Staff John Kelly wanted her gone. Regardless of how it came to be, Omarosa was expected to officially leave the White House as a member of the administration early next month, making her the latest Black woman who Trump now has good reason to fear. Over the years, the Internet has been filled with hilarious videos of people who got their wisdom teeth removed… fell into a drug-induced haze… and then said some pretty crazy $hit. Like the girl who believed she was Kylie Jenner . Or the girl who REALLY wished she had bigger boobs . But the following story is a first. It’s the first time in memory that a young woman has undergone this procedure and then reacted to it by jeopardizing her college career. Her name is Abby Jo Hamele and she attends the University of Nebraska – Lincoln. When she is NOT under the spell of hydrocodone, this 19-year old is happy and bubbly and relatively sane, as you can see in her Twitter profile photo above. But after getting her wisdom teeth yanked out and then getting all drugged up, she looked like this: She also believed that her very much alive pug is her dead dog Sammy . But that wasn’t all. Clearly a responsible student, Abby realized that she’d be unable to turn in a class paper on time as a result of her condition. Not in her proper state of mind, she nevertheless took the time to email her professor and explain the situation, giving us one of the most memorable social media messages of 2016 in the process. “I EMAILED MY PHILOSOPHY TA WHILE I WAS HIGH ON HYDROCODON I’M DEAD,” Abby wrote as an introduction and explanation for a Tweet that has gone viral. “I unfortmately got my wisdom teeth sliced outr and have not not been reacting very well to the surgeryy nor the medicatioon i were given/ so I do not thimk that I will be able to habe my paper finisherd by Tuesday at all,” opens the email. We really should just publish the entire thing right here, shouldn’t we? How else could we do it justice? Is tehere any way I would be able to send you my paper at any later date??? I wnt to do very good on this paper you know becayse i like to do well in my classes. please sir I workled very hard and thouught that I would be abel to finish it on timme but my doctor said I will most likelly not be normal again until at least Thanksginvg turkey. If you say no then that is okay but i would be sad and i would reallyyyy lik e it if you said yes. Thank you Kevin, my dude. Abby Jo Hamele (pronounced hah-mil-lee) (if you were wondering) P.S. I will answer youpr questions in class forever so theere are not any more awkard silence. and i will buy you expo markers that work (even thougjh our tuition should pay for markers that work) love you bye The teacher’s assistant actually went ahead and wrote Abby back, which is amazing. He’s clearly an astute fellow. Someone give this man a promotion! And someone give Abby a high-five and maybe also a strong drink. We’re guessing she could use it right about now.

Group member Professor Griff tells us he thinks the Academy was just paying lip service to black protesters and will go right back to business as usual. Griff says Public Enemy is all about change — radical change — and the Academy’s efforts fly in the face of that. He adds, “The show can’t claim the blackness of Public Enemy’s message.” Chuck D also weighed in with a series of tweets, but he doesn’t seem as upset about it as Griff #EverybodyDoesntHateChris pic.twitter.com/gKTyuoABIM — Chuck D (@MrChuckD) February 29, 2016 He did add however… The song FightThe Power is beyond me & the crew. The point of the song is a call to making change eventually not just applauding the thought — Chuck D (@MrChuckD) February 29, 2016 I dont wanna hear about Oscars being white. Oscar been white. We have need black communities to support our ARTS as much as we do sports IMO — Chuck D (@MrChuckD) February 29, 2016 We protested the grammies in 1989 because they HAD zero catagory for the genre. A 10 yr music at the time. It was for the entire artform-duh — Chuck D (@MrChuckD) February 29, 2016 Art speaking. Fight The Power. Make change.Demand respect. Do your own awards RIGHT & give indie artists & actors a chance to make a LIVING — Chuck D (@MrChuckD) February 29, 2016 People spend more time talkin about StacyDash while NOT even knowing who JulieDash IS when they can look her up in their attached phones-smh — Chuck D (@MrChuckD) February 29, 2016 Sadly, Public Enemy doesn’t even own the rights to license their song, so there’s nothing they can really do about it anyway.
