Kamala Harris: "Best-Looking" Attorney General in U.S., President Obama Says!

President Barack Obama raised eyebrows in the political world today, praising California’s Kamala Harris as America’s “best-looking” attorney general. Speaking at a Bay Area fundraiser for the Democratic National Committee, the president said that Harris, 48, is “brilliant,” “dedicated” and “tough.” “She also happens to be, by far the best-looking attorney general.” According to reports from the fundraiser, the crowd laughed (either due to discomfort, amusement or both) after which Obama said, “It’s true! C’mon.” Some cringed at Obama’s remarks, given the historic hurdles women have faced to be recognized for accomplishments rather than physical appearances. Jonathan Chait of N.Y. Magazine called Obama “disgraceful.” “Women have a hard time being judged purely on their merits,” he wrote. “Discussing their appearance in the context of evaluating job performance makes it worse.” The Washington Post ‘s Jonathan Capehart countered that Obama and Harris are “longtime friends and allies” and he wasn’t “cat-calling a woman he doesn’t know.” “If I thought for one moment that’s what was going on, you better believe I’d hammer him for it. But that’s not the case here. Far from it. Lighten up, people.” Regardless … we’d love to hear what Michelle Obama says later. Obama calling Kamala Harris good-looking …   Harmless! He’s just being nice! Disgraceful and sexist! View Poll »

Ted Nugent: Obama Represents Everything Wrong With Humanity, Mitt Romney Everything Good

Love him or loathe him, Ted Nugent will never sugar coat his views. As such, it’s only a matter of time until he makes more headlines because of them. Actually, compared to some of his recent tirades against President Barack Obama – encouraging fans to chop heads off , etc. – this one isn’t that bad. Nugent was as extreme and unfiltered as ever when asked about the 2012 election in a recent interview. How does he size up the presidential race? With President Obama and Mitt Romney running tied or close to it in most polls, Ted sees the contrast as one that could not be more polarizing: “On important issues, I am saddened to admit that Obama represents everything bad about humanity and Romney pretty much all that is good.” “It is really that stark.” Nugent, of course, raised eyebrows earlier this year when he said that “if you can’t go home and get everybody in your lives to clean house in this vile, evil, America-hating administration, I don’t even know what you’re made of.” Safe to say he’s voting for Mitt in November. Pippa Middleton and George Percy

George Percy: The Guy Friend The 26-year-old is the son of the Duke of Northumberland and he, too, studied at the University of Edinburgh – even rooming there with Pippa. And though romance rumors abound, the pair are not currently a couple. “If anything were ever to happen with George, Pippa would be the Duchess of Northumberland one day and probably richer than Kate,” says an Edinburgh source. Last month, the pair raised eyebrows when they spent a weekend together in Spain. No word on what

Katie Holmes Sues Tabloid For $50 Million

Katie Holmes is seeking damages of $50 million from American Media, the owner of celebrity gossip tabloid Star, based on a recent cover story. The lawsuit, over a cover extreme even by Star standards, takes issue with reports that Katie is on drugs , and was filed in federal court in L.A. Star’s “vicious lies about plaintiff, designed to hype sales of a sleazy tabloid magazine, were calculated to cause severe harm,” reads the suit . DRUG SHOCKER : The shocker is that they printed this! “The average reader (would invariably) believe that plaintiff has become shockingly addicted to drugs. There is no other way to understand them.” The suit continues: “The cover even created the false impression that, but for plaintiff’s nightmare drug addiction, she would ‘leave’ her husband.” In a statement, AMI said it stood behind the story in Star, which also raised eyebrows for reporting Jason Trawick beat up Britney Spears last year. Inside, the magazine backs off the claim of addiction, citing incidents in which Holmes joins Scientology sessions where an “e-meter” is used. Used in the controversial group’s auditing sessions, e-meters allegedly measure electrical resistance and reflecs past emotional experiences. The article states that the electrical device might release endorphins, or “hormones that cause a pain-killing, mood-elevating effect.” A Scientology member (not Tom Cruise) is quoted as saying about using the e-meter, “Like a heroin addict, you want another dose.” Yup, better get ready to pay up guys.

Paris Hilton Getting Broody

Socialite Paris Hilton reportedly revealed she wants to get married to boyfriend Doug Reinhardt and have two children. The heiress, who was attending the Carnival celebrations in Rio de Janeiro alongside her beau, told local Quem magazine that she was ready to start a family. “I want a boy and a girl. I’m going to get married, but I don’t know when yet.” Hilton enjoyed a four-day stay in the tropical paradise, where she promoted a local beer, saw the Carnival displays at the Sambadrome and went on a boat trip – always alongside Reinhardt. She raised eyebrows with an over-the-top racy dance as she opened a party for Devassa beer, at one stage getting down on all fours. Last night she tweeted as she headed to the airport to return to the US: “Had the best time in Rio!” In the interview, she added: “People in Brazil are very beautiful, both men and women.”
