Well, we guess they never left if you count Agent Orange and his gang of hate , but according to data scientists it seems like “foreign actors” have taken to social media to once again spread misinformation campaigns about your favorite Democratic 2020 candidate. Politico is reporting that top Presidential candidates Kamala Harris, Beto O’Rourke, Bernie Sanders, and Elizabeth Warren are the targets in misinformation campaigns that include memes, hashtags, and “distortions of their positions.” Why? Because these social media distorters want to divide the democratic vote if not all together discourage people from voting for anyone not named Donald Trump in the coming 2020 election. “It looks like the 2020 presidential primary is going to be the next battleground to divide and confuse Americans,” said Brett Horvath, one of the founders of Guardians.ai, a tech company that works with a consortium of data scientists, academics and technologists to disrupt cyberattacks and protect pro-democracy groups from information warfare. “As it relates to information warfare in the 2020 cycle, we’re not on the verge of it — we’re already in the third inning.” Though it seems like the average person would be able to see through such tactics, Hillary Clinton knows all too well that this is an effective method as Evangelical Christians are convinced that Jesus Christ wanted Donald Trump to be President while Satan was rooting for Hillary Clinton. That’s not even a joke. That was a popular meme amongst the religious right that had Russian origins according to investigators last year. Now that Donald Trump’s popularity is in the gutter and his chances of re-election are slipping through his grabby fingers, foreign actors have once again taken to the internet to slander any and everyone that poses the biggest threat to his “Presidency.” Unfortunately people still fall for the jig and chances are they’ll continue to do so for the foreseeable future. “Moderates and centrists and Democratic candidates still don’t understand what happened in 2016, and they didn’t realize, like Hillary Clinton, that she wasn’t just running a presidential campaign, she was involved in a global information war,” Horvath said. “Democratic candidates and presidential candidates in the center and on the right who don’t understand that aren’t just going to have a difficult campaign, they’re going to allow their campaign to be an unwitting amplifier of someone else’s attempts to further divide Americans.” Stay woke, y’all.

Kamala Harris has seen a bump in the polls, as the accuracy of early surveys come under question that pegged former Vice President Joe Biden as the clear frontrunner for the 2020 Democratic nomination. See Also: Poll Shows What Crucial Iowa Voters Think About Likely Black Candidates For President Politico pointed out on Monday that at least two recent polls suggested that Biden does not have the 30-point lead that earlier polls found. The methodology of those early surveys apparently skewed the results and painted Biden as a formidable candidate if he decides to run. New surveys indicated that many Democrats are undecided and Biden—unlike Harris—may have benefited from name recognition in those earlier polls. One notable poll in December—before any Democrats announce their presidential bid—found that 32 percent of Iowa Democrats favored Biden in a field of about 20 possible opponents. Harris and New Jersey’s Democratic Sen. Cory Booker found themselves in the middle of the pack in the single digits. “People are weighing their options. I think the reason that so many people are getting in is because this is a 1-to-15 percent spread, not a 1-to-30 percent spread. That result was similar to an ABC News/Washington Post poll published during the last week of January, which also gave Biden a 1-point lead over Harris—9 percent to 8 percent. Kirby pointed to the methodology of early pollsters as part of the reason that Biden was shown to have a huge lead over his potential rivals. Those surveys offered a menu of potential candidates but neglected to ask the voters if they were undecided. When Bold Blue Campaigns gave respondents that option, nearly half of them—48 percent—said they had not firmly decided on which Democrat to support. The December poll of Iowa Democrats was viewed as an early indication of which Candidate was most likely to win the party’s Iowa Caucus, which is scheduled for Feb. 3, 2020. As the first primary contest in the nation, a win in Iowa could cement a primary victory. The winner has won the Democratic presidential nomination in six consecutive election cycles . The first-term Democratic senator from California made the announcement on ABC’s Good Morning America Monday morning. “I am running for president. I’m very excited about it. I am very excited about it,” Harris, 54, told Robin Roberts and George Stephanopoulos . Harris is the first African-American candidate to throw her political hat in the presidential election ring. She will join fellow Democrats Sen. Elizabeth Warren , Rep. Julian Castro , Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand and many others in hopes to defeat President Trump in 2020. Harris has yet to respond those criticisms, but when asked about the left’s growing opposition to law enforcement, she had this to say. “I think it is a false choice to suggest that communities do not want law enforcement,” Harris stressed to the GMA hosts. “Most communities do. They don’t want excessive force. They don’t want racial profiling, but then nobody should.” NBC News reported that shortly after her GMA appearance, Sen. Harris dropped her first campaign video with the slogan “Kamala Harris For the People.” “Truth, justice, decency, equality, freedom, democracy: these aren’t just words, they’re the values we as American cherish. Harris made the announcement on today’s Martin Luther King Jr. holiday while on Good Morning America. “I love my country. I love my country,” she said. “This is a moment in time that I feel a sense of responsibility to stand up and fight for the best of who we are.” She also noted the importance of announcing on the King holiday. “The thing about Dr. King that always inspires me is that he was aspirational. He was aspirational like our country is aspirational. We know that we’ve not yet reached those ideals. She Joins Some Fierce Competition Another politician has announced their vie for president, surely causing 2020 to be an interesting year. New York Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand stopped by The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Tuesday and announced that she’s forming an exploratory committee for a presidential run. “It’s an important first step and it’s one I’m taking because I’m going to run,” she said to a cheering audience. “I’m going to run for president of the United States because as a young mom, I’m going to fight for other people’s kids as hard as I would fight for my own, which is why I believe that health care should be a right and not a privilege.” Gillibrand joins Sen. Elizabeth Warren in the presidential run, who announced her bid for the seat back in December. Vice President Joe Biden , Sen. Bernie Sanders , California Senator Kamala Harris and Texas politician Beto O’Rourke are also people planning or considering a run for president. According to the New York Post , Gillibrand was first elected to the House in 2006 as a moderate Democrat who rejected amnesty for undocumented immigrants, didn’t support same-sex marriage and had a 100 percent NRA voting record. Gillibrand took on her Senate seat in 2009, succeeding Hillary Clinton who went on to become the secretary of state. Gillibrand has held her seat since 2009 and moved more left with her politics by supporting gun control, same-sex marriage and calling for the end of ICE. The year 2020 will be the year that the United States either purges its highest office of racism, misogyny, and crass arrogance, or it finally accepts that its premise of exceptionalism, inclusion, and equality is wholly a farce. According to KCBS , sources close to say Senator Harris will likely make her announcement on the apt Martin Luther King Jr. Day at a campaign rally in her hometown of Black a$$ Oakland. Another spokesperson told The Hill that no announcement is planned and Senator Harris isn’t scheduled to be in the Bay Area during the holiday. We call shenanigans. Sounds like they just don’t want word getting out ahead of their event. Every single time Senator Harris appears on TV, she’s asked if she plans to run and usually responds with some variation of “Nah, I’m not quite reaady”. The 2015 tweet supported anti-Muslim sentiment stirred up by Donald Trump, and Vallelonga has since deleted his Twitter account. Variety writes : “@realDonaldTrump 100% correct,” the Nov. 2015 tweet read. “Muslims in Jersey City cheering when towers went down. I saw it, as you did, possibly on local CBS news.” At a November rally, Trump had said, “Hey, I watched when the World Trade Center came tumbling down. And I watched in Jersey City, New Jersey, where thousands and thousands of people were cheering as that building was coming down. Thousands of people were cheering.” ABC’s George Stephanopoulos challenged Trump on the claim, but the then-presidential candidate insisted that he saw Muslims celebrating with his own eyes. The outlet added that fans on Twitter pointed out to Vallelonga that Green Book ‘s leading man in Ali is a Muslim. Since its debut, Green Book has endured critique from the family of Dr. Don Shirley, who Ali plays in the film. Nick Vallelonga wrote Green Book. My industry just gave him a Golden Globe for writing. According to KCBS Radio , sources claim that Harris, 54, plans on throwing her hat in the presidential election ring, most likely announcing her bid on or around Martin Luther King Jr. Day in a rally in her hometown of Oakland. However, one of Harris’ reps told The Hill on Thursday that no announcement is imminent and she will not be in Oakland during the holiday weekend. They are smarter than that.” “Despite a woman’s role in the world, there are still certain myths of what a woman can and cannot do,” Harris said, citing her mother. As a woman of color, Harris is no stranger to breaking the political glass ceiling in her state, which is why her mother warned her about the racial and gender stereotypes she would face. “In spite of the fact that it is the woman who is the lioness, protecting those cubs.
