Instagram Might Start Hiding Public Like Counts & They’re Already Testing It Out In 7 Countries

Source: Peter Cade / Getty Instagram Might Be Getting Rid Of Their Public Like Count Sometime Soon Some of us like to act like we don’t care about Instagram likes–and some of us actually, really don’t care. But others have built entire careers off the number of likes they can pull in per picture, so there’s definitely something important about the number under that little heart icon on all of our pictures. While the number of people who double tap certain photos seems pretty arbitrary, a lot of people are starting to think more and more that the attention we pay to social media can be harmful to our self-esteem, mental health, and other factors in our real life. That’s why Instagram could be getting rid of this feature for good. Instagram is expanding its test of a feature that hides their public “like” counts. The test began in Canada in back in April, and, starting on Wednesday, the test expanded to Ireland, Italy, Japan, Brazil, Australia, and New Zealand. At this point, this is still just an experiment, and Instagram hasn’t said whether or not the feature will come to the US–but this gradual implementation into different areas could be the platform’s way of introducing a really big change. As for the tests going down in these 7 countries, Instagram users can opt out of the test, but it’s on by default. “Likes” aren’t shown in any public part of the app, including on public-facing grids or on the main feed, but the person who posted an image can still see the “like” count privately. We’re currently running a test that hides the total number of likes and video views for some people in the following countries: Australia Brazil Canada Ireland Italy Japan New Zealand pic.twitter.com/2OdzpIUBka — Instagram (@instagram) July 17, 2019 There have been a lot of positive and negative reactions to this newly implemented test run, with most of the concern being for the livelihood of Instagram’s influencers. After the initial idea was announced, Elle ran a story titled “Instagram Is Experimenting With Hiding Likes, Which Would Make It Much Harder to Be an Influencer,” which points out that brands care a lot more about hiring influencers with high engagement rates (a high percentage of likes compared to their follower count) on their posts than they do about how many followers someone has. On the contrary, marketing blogger Charles Tumotto Jackson argued that influencers would be fine — probably just pivoting to a higher reliance on Instagram Stories. That’s where they can use the swipe-up feature to link directly to purchasing pages, and “everything becomes measurable and even more transparent than it used to be.” Plus, like mentioned above, the influencers themselves can still see how many likes are being brought in, which is something they can show to a brand just like the back-end analytics already provides–proving once more that their business and livelihood probably won’t be affected by this change as much as people think. Whether you’re trying to build your influencer game or you just frequent the platform to see what your friends are up to: how do you feel about public “like” counts possibly being no more?

90 Day Fiance Happily Ever After Sneak Peek: Larissa Lima Reveals She Has Two Kids

We knew that this was coming ever since Larissa Lima addressed abandoning her kids on social media earlier this week. Larissa has kids in Brazil, and for the first time ever, she's talking about it on 90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After? To say that Debbie is shocked is an understatemen. In this sneak peek, her reaction is strongly negative. This sneak peek clip of 90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After? opens with Larissa, Colt, and Debbie seated an outside table. That sounds like a nightmare in Nevada, but hey, it's probably easier for the crew to film that way. Things are sort of tense even before Larissa spills the truth, but Debbie's current dye job is looking great in this lighting. “Debbie,” Larissa says nervously. “I have something to say to you.” She immediately grimaces with anxiety. You can tell how much Debbie's opinion used to mean to her. “Okay,” Debbie says. This isn't a surprise to her — because the 90 Day Fiance crew is all set up and the tension is palpable. Debbie has clearly been thinking of what Colt and Larissa could be planning to spring on her. “You're pregnant?” Debbie guesses. If that had been the case, Debbie would have been shattering the tension effortlessly. But that's not the news that Larissa had to reveal. “I have kids,” Larissa says seriously, slowly nodding. Debbie, though clearly surprised, nods. “You have children,” she says, confirming that she understood Larissa despite her accent. Keep in mind that, for this point, Debbie and Larissa have been sharing a house for months and months. This isn't news to Colt, but neither of them have shared this information wtih Debbie in all of this time. Larissa nods. Debbie begins to visibly tear up. Larissa glances, both apologetically and awkwardly, back and forth between Debbie and her son, Colt. Clearly, she expects Colt to say something to his mother. Instead, he apparently just sits there awkwardly as a spectator. He … could really work on his social skills. That would be ideal if he wants to continue with his reality career or just being a person. After a few moments of silence (or what has been edited to look like silence), Debbie stands up and goes inside. Inside, the camera follows Debbie as she says “I need a drink.” “They haven't told me anything about it,” Debbie confirms to the camera in a voiceover. And Debbie is, frankly, more than a little pissed. “I am so angry with her,” Debbie expresses in a confessional moment. She says that it's absolutely her business “because it's our family, and I need to know what's going on.” That is extremely fair. “I'm a little disappointed that you guys didn't tell me,” Debbie admits, having rejoined her son and her daughter-in-law at the table. “It hurt me that no one had discussed it with me,” she confesses. “I always wanted to tell you,” Larissa bursts in. “But it's a complicated situation.” “From the beginning,” Larissa observes. “We don't get along.” “So, every time that I see the way that you take care of Coltee,” Larissa explains. “'How will I explain to you that I have kids in Brazil?'” “It was chickens–t of her to do that,” Debbie admits. “I'm sorry,” she adds. “But it was.” “I love Colt,” Larissa explains at the table. “So what will his mother, that did everything for him, think about it?” “When Larissa told me how she felt about me,” Debbie later confesses to the camera. “I understood why she didn't tell me about having children. “She was scared,” Debbie assesses. “And I don't think she trusted anybody.” This Sunday's episode is certainly going to contain some bombshells.

HELLO WORLD: The Reinvention Of São Paulo

More here:

Source: Lisa Bonner / Lisa Bonner São Paulo is getting a facelift. It is easy to understand why Brazil’s largest city of 12 million people, was once known as a commercial city catering solely to business people: because that’s exactly what it was. No longer. Over the past few decades, São Paulo began to slowly reinvent itself, making it more livable for its citizens using its natural resources, and began subtly courting tourists with its global spin on São Paulo’s distinctly Brazilian culture. It worked. São Paulo transformed itself from a flyover city into a destination in its own right. Leisure tourism is up 50% over the past 5 years thanks to São Paulo’s urban renewal that touts medical tourism, Michelin starred restaurants, bustling nightlife, and world-class museums. If you only had time to visit Avenida Paulista (Paulista Avenue), you’d get a good representation of São Paulo all on one street. Visiting on a Sunday, the Avenue is closed to cars, so you can hop on a bike down São Paulo’s most famous thoroughfare. Otherwise, take a stroll town this storied street, which depending on the time of year, plays host to the Gay Pride Parade, and the Sylvester Road Race, and on any given day it’s not unusual to spot a political protest. This commercial corridor headquarters financial institutions, and features both street and retail shopping. Spend some time in the areas buttressing the Avenue, Parque Tenente Siqueira Campos (Trianon Park) that mimics a tranquil rainforest just off the Avenue on one side and MASP, South America’s most famous fine arts museum on the other. MASP is home to many famous European artworks, but also features a large collection of impressive Brazilian and Afro Brazilian pieces as well. Vila Madalena, arguably São Paulo’s chicest and coolest neighborhood is famous for its eclectic street art, graffiti and art galleries, but was once little village owned by Portuguese farmhands and accessible only on foot or by horse. Now easily reached by public transportation or ride share, you can wander through Batman Alley to see some of the neighborhood’s famous murals and street art, then pop into Bar Samba https://www.yelp.com/biz/bar-samba-são-paulo for some of the city’s best Samba dancing. If you’re looking for retail therapy, there are some lovely boutiques here that feature artwork and crafts from local Brazilian artisans. Source: Lisa Bonner / Lisa Bonner Looking for shopping, Rua Oscar Freire (Oscar Freire Street) is one of South America’s most elegant shopping districts featuring high end local and international designers, restaurants and ice cream parlors. The best kept secret, there were a few international bookstores, which are increasingly hard to find in the Americas outside of an airport, and each had copies of our #ForeverFlotus’ book “Becoming.” I hopped off the plane craving some Brazilian rice and beans, and couvee (Brazilian’s version of collard greens), but I quickly learned that traditional Brazilian fare is harder to find here, because this city has a gastronomic identity all its own. Source: Lisa Bonner / Lisa Bonner Casa de Porco https://acasadoporco.com.br (House of the Pig) a 2017 and 2018 Michelin starred restaurant is consistently voted one of Latin America’s 50 Best Restaurants, and for good reason: it’s a carnivore’s dream. The Brazilian born chef creates a mixture of dishes from the entirely of the pig; and I’m talking about cooking up everything from the rooter to the tooter, and the innards, and the skin; imagine your Granny’s cooking with a Y2k flair. Think pork sushi, or pig’s feet stew, everything you can imagine and more that can be made from the pig, is. If you abstain from meat like I do, there are plenty of vegetarian options created to mimic the pork dishes. The veggie options and the craft cocktails were quite good, making it easy to accompany your flesh eating friends to this restaurant, because this is a dining sensation for pork eaters that truly should not be missed. If you’re up for a little jaunt outside the city, hop in a rideshare, which are insanely inexpensive, hightail it to Restaurant Mocoto, an unassuming little shack about 30 minutes outside of the city center, that houses a Michelin starred restaurant https://mocoto.com.br/en/ . Helmed by Chef Rodrigo Oliviera, who is super easy on the eyes, this eatery is one of the World’s Best 50 Restaurants. The restaurant, started by Rodrigo’s father in 1974, is now a gastronomic must and features signature dishes of feijoada (on Saturdays), tapioca cheese cubes with pork, homemade pork sausages flambéed with cachaça, along with poetry inscribed walls and Brazilian artwork, along with a caipirinha bar featuring over 100 varieties of cachaça. If you can’t make it to São Paulo, Chef Rodrigo will be opening a stateside location in West Hollywood later this year! Your visit to São Paulo wouldn’t be complete without trying these typical dishes: Source: Lisa Bonner / Lisa Bonner Mortadella Sandwiches- these are huge stacks of mortadella sausage (roughly a half pound) which must be folded in half to avoid the obvious density of a half pound of meat, provolone cheese, sourdough bread, mayonnaise and Dijon mustard. Feijoada- The national dish of Brazil, is a black bean stew served with various cuts of meat and pork sausage served on Saturdays. Head over to one of Boteco São Bento’s locations for this famous dish. Pão de queijo- the famous Brazilian cheese bread which can be eaten for breakfast or just as a snack. You’ll find them on every street corner or deli and many restaurants throughout São Paulo. People flying down to Brazil for medical procedures is nothing new. Think the “Brazilian Butt Lift.” São Paulo is undeniably the leader in medical and healthcare services in Brazil, and has the most accredited private hospitals in Latin America. Aside from the typical butt lift, breast implants and the various cosmetic surgeries readily available, including facial fillers, you can easily obtain eye surgeries, fertility treatments, dental treatments and implants, bariatric surgeries, even chemotherapy at a fraction of the cost of the treatments available in North America. Plan in advance by doing your research for the more invasive procedures. https://www.health-tourism.com/medical-tourism-brazil/sao-paulo/ However if you are just looking for a little “refresher,” the hotel concierge can easily refer you to an outpatient clinic or stop into one of the many “clinics” available for a quick touch up, such as Espaco Pop Beauty http://espacopopbeauty.com.br . Source: Lisa Bonner / Lisa Bonner Where to Stay: Renaissance Hotel and Spa is a four star hotel featuring one of the best locations in the city. Located just off Avenida Paulista, this hotel offers a spa featuring vegan products, the largest fitness center in the São Paulo hotel community, several bars, a sushi bar, a world class restaurant Terraco Jardin and walking tours offered by the hotel. Looking to book a restaurant, tour or otherwise, let the hotel’s “Navigators” sort that for you. https://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/saobr-renaissance-sao-paulo-hotel/ How to get there: LATAM offers non-stop flights daily to São Paulo from several North American cities, with more cities added monthly. LATAM is in the middle of a rebranding push and its evident they are making their mark in this market. Latam offers VIP lounges, new fleet of planes with bright, and spacious cabins with onboard entertainment https://www.latam.com/en_us/ [ione_media_gallery src=”https://hellobeautiful.com” id=”3024203″ overlay=”true”] RELATED STORIES: HELLO WORLD: See 40 Beautiful Costumes From The 2019 Trinidad Carnival HELLO WORLD: Yacht Week East Africa Is Catering To Black Women

90 Day Fiance: Most Vicious Feuds of All Time

90 Day Fiance is a show about people finding each other across continents and oceans, giving up everything for love. Naturally, it is filled with some of the most toxic couples and the most vitriolic feuds that you can imagine. Not all of that bile plays out on camera, either. Behind the scenes and on social media, 90 Day Fiance stars will wage verbal wars on each other. Sometimes, it's a rival from their season or a person who was almost family. Other times, it's people who have only met once or twice, but experience loathing at first sight. Take a look below and see the most intense feuds that have ever played out among the stars. 1. 90 Day Fiance has a wealth of feuds Fans may start watching for the controversial couples and the cute couples, but the feuds will keep you hooked for years — because that’s how long they can last. 2. First, let’s address something obvious A lot of these feuds involve Larissa Lima. Though she only entered the scene in Season 6, her relationship was the most talked about since Danielle and Mohamed. Her situation has changed, but for a long time, she was feuding with anyone who looked at her crossways. 3. First of all … We’re not going to count every pair of exes on this list. Sometimes, they parted on good terms. Other times, they loathe each other but it’s not quite feuding. But Colt resolved to try to get Larissa deported to Brazil, and Debbie is badmouthing her left and right. So we’d say that Larissa is feuding with them both, even though she is trying to move on. 4. Fernanda vs Larissa Viewers who didn’t keep up with the stars on social media at all were introduced to this feud at the Tell All special. Larissa saw Fernanda as her rival for the title of best-looking 90 Day Fiance star. It was so bad that Larissa and Colt were late getting on set. 5. Jonathan Rivera got involved Though he and Fernanda would split several weeks after the Tell All was filmed, he had his wife’s back and feuded with both Larissa and Colt. On the tell all, this culminated in the hilarious moment when Larissa yelled “shut upee!” It broke the tension — a little. 6. That didn’t last When Jonathan and Fernanda’s marriage fizzled out in December, they didn’t really share joint custody of their feuds, either. View Slideshow

Larissa Dos Santos Lima: Charged with Domestic Violence for Alleged Attack Against Husband

It’s official: Larissa Dos Santos Lima is facing a domestic violence charge for allegedly attacking husband Colt Johnson last week. The criminal complaint – which comes on the heels of an ugly and well-publicized fight between the 90 Day Fiance stars – states that Larissa “did willfully and unlawfully use force or violence against or upon the person of her spouse.” TMZ has obtained the complaint and was the first website to publish this excerpt from it. The charge is a misdemeanor and was filed Wednesday in Vegas. As we’ve documented in detail, Larissa was taken into custody very early last Friday morning after some sort of confrontation with Johnson that resulted in his bloody lip. Larissa also shared a number of photos online that allegedly depicted what Johnson had done to her face — but police on the scene determined these wounds (such as the one below) were self-inflicted. Just hours after his wife was arrested, Johnson filed for divorce. We’ve seen reported on how Colt is trying to expediate this process, telling a judge he doesn’t want spousal support and that the couple owned no joint property… … and that he basically wants to be done with Larissa as quickly as legally possible . The TLC personalities had made plenty of headlines together long before this unfortunate incident. Late last year, Johnson admitted to having cheated on his wife; while Larissa was also arrested on a domestic battery charge in November, although it was eventually dropped. In this latest instance, Johnson told cops Larissa became enraged after learning he subscribed to an adult entertainment website. She accused him of cheating again.  According to the police report, Colt said Larissa had downed half a bottle of antidepressants and was suicidal . View Slideshow: Larissa Lima Shares Shocking Photos of Bloody Fight With Colt Johnson; 90 Day Fiance Star Arrested [BREAKING] For her part, Larissa alleged that Colt was the aggressor, scratching her in the face and on her torso. However, cops investigated both sides and believed that Johnson was telling the truth; hence the arrest last Friday around 5 a.m. In the days since this violent back-and-forth, both Colt and Larissa have posted messages on Instagram. The former explained to followers how he simply doesn’t understand Dos Santos Lima and said he has paid for absolutely everything on her behalf since she moved to America. Here is a snippet of what he wrote online after filing for divorce: Larissa, meanwhile, tried to start a GoFundMe account so that fans could help pay for her split and her “new life.” But those behind this fundraising service took down her page for some reason. “Thank you all who donated on my go fund me campaign. I raised the money I need! When I feel better I will make a video to thank you and I will mention every single donor,” she wrote on Instagram on Saturday, sharing that she had a court date for Febriary 12. This is what she had previously written about the situation on her social media account: Johnson and Dos Santos Lima married last June after meeting on an online dating website. He proposed after a mere 11 days together, after which she moved (from Brazil) to Las Vegas to be with him. Their relationship was documented on season six of 90 Day Fiance, the reality program that follows couples who have applied for or received a K-1 visa available to foreign fiances of US citizens. They then have 90 days to decide to marry before the visa expires and the foreign half must leave the nation. View Slideshow: 90 Day Fiance: Most Shocking Scandals Exposed!
