He Got Time Today, Cuz: Mogul Murderer Jimmy Henchmen Hit With Second Life Sentence

James “Jimmy Henchmen” Rosemond Gets Second Life Sentence For Murder Conspiracy No need for calendar… Via NYPost A Manhattan federal judge on Tuesday sentenced James “Jimmy Henchman” Rosemond — already serving a life sentence for running a drug empire — to a second life term in prison for his December conviction as mastermind of the 2009 Bronx murder of Bloods street gang member Lowell Fletcher. Judge Colleen McMahon called Rosemond’s crimes “heinous” but lamented to the 50-year-old that “there’s nothing I can do to alter your fate.” Rosemond — who declined to address McMahon before being sentenced — targeted Fletcher for his affiliation with the rap group G-Unit, with which Rosemond had been feuding. Rosemond wanted someone to pay for his teen son being slapped by G-Unit co-founder Tony Yayo in 2007, authorities said. The attack on Rosemond’s then-14-year-old son occurred after Yayo, fellow co-founder 50 Cent and others in the G-Unit crew spotted him in Manhattan wearing a shirt that advertised his father’s rival music management company, Czar Entertainment, police sources said. Yayo, whose real name is Marvin Bernard, was harassing the kid at the direction of 50 Cent, allegedly showing a gun tucked into his waistband. He then pushed the kid up against a wall, started asking him why he was wearing the shirt and smacked him. Just another day for Jimmy. Image via AP

Selena Gomez Does Her Best Britney On ‘Whiplash’

Teen star channels the pop titan as Spears-penned dance tune from Gomez’s album leaks to the Net. By James Dinh Selena Gomez Photo: Jeffrey Mayer/ WireImage It’s a good thing Selena Gomez is feeling much better after her hospitalization last week because the Disney starlet has a string of gigs lined up to promote her soon-to-be-released album, When the Sun Goes Down. And while the LP doesn’t hit stores until June 28, some of the tracks have already surfaced on the Internet, including “Whiplash,” which MTV News has confirmed was co-written by Britney Spears . Gomez, who has gushed to us about her Spears fandom, shows off her best impersonation of the pop princess on “Whiplash.” The dance number begins with sonic flares and effects as the teen songstress sings about a blossoming romance. Gomez then adds a twist to the song by saying a number of phrases in a thick British accent before the pulsating chorus kicks in. “Come on and take me to the other side/ I’m gonna wait, when I look into your eyes,” she croons. “I’m so in love, I think I’m going to crash/ And get whiplash, whiplash, whiplash.” “Whiplash” was reportedly a track that failed to make the cut on Spears’ comeback album, Circus. Among the other songs leaked from When the Sun Goes Down are “That’s More Like It” and “We Own the Night.” Fans will get to see Selena doing more Britney when she tackles some of the pop star’s classic hits on her upcoming tour. Earlier this year, Gomez told MTV News that she was thinking about paying tribute to the singer with “a mash-up of some of her songs.” The Disney starlet and hard-core Britney fan revealed that she looked at Spears’ entire discography in decided what tunes to cover. “We’re gonna do a little tribute. We’re gonna do her hits, ‘ … Baby One More Time,’ and then I think we’re going to try to incorporate ‘Toxic’ and that phase,” she said. “And then we might do some of her recent, new stuff.” Have you heard “Whiplash”? Tupac ‘Shooter’ Claims Are A ‘Flat-Out Lie’

Jimmy ‘Henchman’ Rosemond’s lawyer fires back at Dexter Isaac’s charges that he was paid by the industry exec to shoot ‘Pac in 1994. By Rob Markman Tupac Photo: Chi Modu Instead of celebration, what would have been Tupac’s 40th birthday has been marred by controversy as new allegations emerge about the November 1994 Quad Studios robbery and shooting of the rapper. While fans celebrated ‘Pac’s life and legacy on Thursday (June 16), remembering the fallen icon with two trending topics on Twitter (#tupac and THUG LIFE), many of them were also debating the contents of a letter written by Dexter Isaac and posted to AllHipHop.com on Wednesday. In a note to the site, Isaac claimed to be the triggerman in the now-infamous robbery that left Shakur shot five times, two years before he was killed in a still-unsolved murder. Moreover, Isaac (who is serving a life sentence for murder, robbery, fraud and witness intimidation), now charges that it was ‘Pac’s former associate, Jimmy “Henchman” Rosemond , who set the whole thing up, paying him $2,500 to do the job. Rosemond’s lawyer, Jeffrey Lichtman, fired back, refuting Isaac’s story. “It’s a flat-out lie,” he told the New York Daily News. “Dexter Isaac is not claiming this 17 years later to clear his conscience. He’s doing it because he’s told anybody who will listen he doesn’t want to die in prison. He has kids and wants to work off his sentence. He can’t be trusted.” “I want to apologize to his family [Tupac Shakur] and for the mistake I did for that sucker [Jimmy Henchman],” Isaac told AllHipHop.com from prison. “I am trying to clean it up to give [Tupac’s and Biggie’s] mothers some closure.” Henchman and his defense team, however, are not buying it. On May 17, news broke that federal authorities issued an arrest warrant for Jimmy Henchman in connection with a drug case. Rosemond, who as head of Czar Entertainment has had ties to numerous rappers, believes that the government is using incarcerated informants to build a case against him. He attacked Isaac’s credibility in a statement first issued to XXLMag.com. “If the government is relying on informants like Winston ‘Winnie’ Harris, a convicted drug dealer and Jamaican deportee, who came to me and motioned via hand signal that he was forced to wear a wire and begged me to skip town, or Dexter Isaac, who is serving life in prison plus 30 years, then I’m sure I will not be offered a fair trial.” The late Tupac’s onetime prot

Game’s Manager Jimmy ‘Henchman’ Rosemond Wanted By Feds

Warrant issued for Czar Entertainment CEO’s arrest in connection to drug case. By Gil Kaufman The Game Photo: Moses Robinson/ WireImage Czar Entertainment boss Jimmy “Henchman” Rosemond, who manages the careers of the Game and Sean Kingston, among others, was reportedly on the run on Tuesday (May 17) after federal authorities issued an arrest warrant for him in connection with a drug case. The New York Post reported that the warrant was issued last week after the feds indicted Rosemond for his alleged involvement in a cocaine distribution ring. At press time, the paper said Rosemond had not yet been found and that an unnamed law enforcement source confirmed that there was a fugitive warrant out for the hip-hop mogul. Just hours after the story broke, Rosemond’s lawyer, Jeffrey Lichtman, told MTV News that he had not seen the arrest warrant or indictment but that he was aware of the case. “I’ve spoke to Jimmy and this is not a surprise,” he said. “We’ve been defending this in the pre-indictment stage for years now.” What he was surprised by, though, was that he did not know about the arrest warrant until he read about it in the New York tabloid. Lichtman said that considering the narcotics investigation has been going on for an unspecified number of years, he knew it was “inevitable” that charges would be brought, but that he didn’t know when it might happen. “I don’t dispute the fact that there is an arrest warrant, but I haven’t seen it,” he said. “I suppose they’re looking for him now, and when they find him, the case will start.” Asked if Rosemond would turn himself in to face the charges, Lichtman said he did not know. Rosemond has a colorful past, and last year, the New York Daily News reported that he had been named in court records as an informant for state and federal law enforcement officials dating back to the mid-1990s. His former lawyers requested leniency in a Los Angeles gun case against Rosemond by citing his repeated cooperation with authorities. In 2008, Rosemond called for the firing of former Los Angeles Times reporter Chuck Phillips after the journalist implicated Rosemond in an article claiming that he was among the men behind the 1994 ambush of late rapper Tupac Shakur at a New York recording studio. The previous year, Rosemond’s then-14-year-old son was allegedly roughed up by G-Unit member Tony Yayo as part of an alleged ongoing beef between G-Unit and Czar, who split ways in 2005; the charges against Yayo were dropped a year later when he pleaded to a lesser crime of noncriminal harassment.
