Jerry Sandusky to Appeal Convictions, Placed on Suicide Watch

Former Penn State defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky will be appealing his convictions on dozens of counts of child sexual abuse, his defense team says. After a trial that featured graphic testimony from eight victims, jurors late Friday found Jerry Sandusky guilty on 45 of the 48 sexual abuse counts. The eight victims, now young men, testified that they were boys when Sandusky forced them to engage in sexual acts over the course of 15 years. After being found guilty, Sandusky, 68, was taken immediately to the jail in Centre County, Pa. He will be sentenced officially in about 90 days. He likely will be sentenced to serve the rest of his life behind bars. Sandusky’s defense team plans to file a motion for appeal , claiming he had ineffective counsel, based on lawyer Joe Amendola talking to the media. A linchpin of the appeal will also be prosecutor Joe McGettigan’s statements during his closing argument, when he told jurors that Jerry Sandusky could have proclaimed his innocence during an interview with Bob Costas on NBC. That violates Sandusky’s right to post-arrest trial silence, his camp argues. His attorneys will also ask the judge to sentence Sandusky to concurrent sentences, with the maximum of 20 years. For 45 convictions? Fat chance. His own adopted son, Matt Sandusky , has accused Jerry of the same thing. It’s possible an appellate court will throw out all objections on the basis of the testimony being too overwhelming to have warranted any other outcome. As of Saturday, Sandusky was placed on suicide watch in jail, according to reports. This does not mean that Sandusky is necessarily suicidal, but the judge wanted “to put the precautions in place first and then evaluate later.”

Jerry Sandusky Verdict: Guilty on 45 Counts of Child Abuse

Jerry Sandusky, the former Penn State assistant football coach who was once the heir apparent to Joe Paterno, has been found guilty on 45 charges of sexual abuse. The jury reached its verdict late tonight, determining that Sandusky abused 10 boys over a period of 15 years. He faces life in prison for his actions and will be sentenced in approximately three months. In total, eight men testified in a Pennsylvania courtroom over the last few weeks, all of them recounting instances of Sandusky either kissing them, groping them, or engaging with them in oral and anal sex. Sandusky never took the stand in his own defense, but his wife testified at the request of his lawyers and tried to paint a picture of a conspiracy against her husband. However, the jurors chose to side with prosecturors, who described Sandusky as a “predatory pedophile” in closing arguments. The ex-defensive coordinator was arrested in November, a shocking and traumatic event that eventually exposed a cover-up at Penn State University and led to the firing of the legendary Paterno, who died a couple months later. The abuse scandal also led to the removal of university president Graham Spanier, along with criminal charges against two university administrators for failing to properly report suspected child abuse and perjury. After the jury was sequestered for deliberations, Matt Sandusky , one of Jerry’s adopted sons, came out and admitted he was also abused as a foster child living with the Sanduskys.

Dottie Sandusky Testifies at Husband’s Child Sex Abuse Trial

Dottie Sandusky, whose disgraced husband Jerry Sandusky is accused of 52 felony counts of child sex abuse, took the stand in his trial Tuesday afternoon. Dottie Sandusky has stood by her husband, posting his bail, accompanying him to court and issuing a statement last year that proclaimed his innocence. Whether her remarks will change the direction of the case is an open question, but her testimony, at least early on, focused on how she and Jerry met. Jerry Sandusky Trial: Wife to Testify? One witness has testified that he was attacked the Sanduskys’ basement and tried to cry out for help when Dottie was upstairs, only to be ignored. Dottie, who is not charged with any crimes, says all the accusers are lying. Also Tuesday, Sandusky’s attorney closely questioned two Pennsylvania state police investigators about whether they coached Jerry Sandusky accusers . One of the troopers, Cpl. Joseph Leiter, now retired, acknowledged to lawyer Joe Amendola that he told at least one alleged victim of the former Penn State coach that they “wouldn’t be alone” if they came forward because “there were others.” Sandusky is accused of molesting 10 children over a 15-year period.

Hide Ya Kids: A 1998 Psychologists Report Shows That “Scary” Jerry Sandusky Has Been A “Likely Pedophile” For Years!

Psychologist’s Report Reveals Penn State Football Coach Jerry Sandusky Had Pedophile Tendencies Jerry been chasin’ that underaged peen for a LONG time…SMDH More than a decade before former Penn State coach Jerry Sandusky was charged with more than 50 counts of child sex abuse, a psychologist warned university police that his actions fit that of a “likely pedophile’s pattern.” The finding by State College, Pa., psychologist Dr. Alycia A. Chambers, the therapist for one of Sandusky’s alleged victims, was contained in the internal Penn State files of a 1998 police investigation of the former coach for showering and bear hugging her client and another young boy in the school’s athletic locker room. NBC News has obtained the complete file on the investigation – the police report and assessments by two psychologists who interviewed the boys — which provides new details about Sandusky’s behavior. It also could raise fresh questions about how school and local authorities handled his case. “There was very little doubt in my mind (Sandusky) … was a male predator, someone that was in the process of grooming a young man for abuse ,” said Chambers, speaking publicly for the first time, with the permission of her client’s family, in an interview with NBC News. “I thought…my report was strong enough to suggest that this was somebody who should be watched.” Chambers’ detailed report is potentially significant because it was the first clear warning about the former Penn State coach’s actions – nearly four years before a then-graduate assistant, Mike McQueary, reported to the late Coach Joe Paterno and other top school officials that he had found Sandusky in the Penn State showers one evening with another young boy, engaged in what he viewed as sexual contact. (Paterno testified last year he was unaware of the 1998 investigation and Gary Schultz, the former Penn State vice president who oversaw the school police, testified that he never reviewed the details of the case. A Penn State spokesman declined comment, citing pending investigations.) In her interview with NBC News, Chambers described her anguish when she was contacted by police last year and learned that authorities were again investigating Sandusky for allegedly molesting multiple other boys, 13 years after she first raised her concerns. “I was horrified to know that there were so many other innocent boys who had their hearts and minds confused, their bodies violated,” said Chambers. “It’s unspeakable.” Not that we didn’t think that Jerry was a sick f___er anyway, but this just confirms that something REALLY sick was goin’ on at “Peen State”. The fact that this report was filed almost 15 years ago further proves that people in high places were covering for this azzhole. Source More On Bossip! Vanessa Bryant: Courted By Basketball Wives!

It was only a matter of time. Mere weeks after Vanessa Bryant became one of the NBA’s most famous ex-wives, she has become the Holy Grail for producers of VH1’s misnamed Basketball Wives . The people behind the show are prepping to make Kobe’s ex-wife an offer she can’t refuse , with sources say “an extremely lucrative pitch for Vanessa” is imminent. As one source put it, they will do whatever it takes to get her, since, “Vanessa has more than enough storyline and would bring the show to another level.” Producers never dreamed of approaching Vanessa Bryant while she was married to the L.A. Lakers superstar, who she recently left due to Kobe’s repeated cheating . Budget constraints were also an issue when the show was in its infancy, but with Wives pulling in big ratings for VH1, and Vanessa single, times have changed! Sources say producers would instantly make her the LEAD star the show or spin off an L.A. version with her as the centerpiece. We’re not buying it, though. First of all, Vanessa scored $75 million in their divorce . VH1 isn’t going to woo her with money, in other words, and it’s unclear if she wants to be a fame whore. Even if she does, we doubt Kobe will agree to have his daughters on the program, which could be a tough workaround as Vanessa will have primary custody. [Photo: WENN.com]

Jerry Sandusky Issues Statement on Joe Paterno

Jerry Sandusky – the disgraced former Penn State assistant whose alleged, despicable actions led to a cover-up that will forever tarnish Joe Paterno’s legacy – has issued a statement on the passing of the iconic football coach. “This is a sad day!” Sandusky said, exclamation mark included. “Our family, Dottie [Sandusky’s wife] and I would like to convey our deepest sympathy to Sue [Paterno] and her family. Nobody will be able to take away the memories we all shared of a great man, his family, and all the wonderful people who were a part of his life. “He maintained a high standard in a very difficult profession. Joe preached toughness, hard work and clean competition. Most importantly, he had the courage to practice what he preached.” Sandusky, of course, faces over 40 counts of child sex charges ; while the inability of Paterno and other Penn State officials to report their knowledge of Sandusky’s actions to the police has led to the biggest scandal in the history of college athletics.

Cry Me A River: Joe “To Hide A Predator” Paterno Says He Kept His Mouth Shut About Jerry Sandusky’s Nasty A$$ Because He Was Shook And Overwhelmed

GEEEEEEET TFOHWTBS! In his first extensive interview since being fired, Paterno shared his side of the 2002 episode. He became a flashpoint for criticism in November because he did not contact the police about the suspected assault, which was reported to him by a graduate assistant. Paterno instead relayed the allegations to the athletic director and another top university official. “I didn’t know exactly how to handle it, and I was afraid to do something that might jeopardize what the university procedure was,” Paterno told The Washington Post. “So I backed away and turned it over to some other people, people I thought would have a little more expertise than I did. It didn’t work out that way.” The athletic director, Tim Curley, and the university official, Gary Schultz, have been charged with failure to report the 2002 episode to police. They also are charged with lying to a grand jury about their knowledge of the matter. Paterno said that he had “no inkling” that Sandusky, who has been charged with more than 50 counts of sexual abuse against boys, might have been engaged in deviant behavior. Paterno declined to judge Sandusky or his other former Penn State colleagues. Which makes you just as bad as the rest of them, Coach Paterno. SMDH. Source More On Bossip! Jay Gray, NBC Reporter, Arrested For DUI After Chasing Jerry Sandusky Exclusive

Proving that NBC personnel suck at holding their liquor as well as producing TV shows and updating their website, correspondent Jay Gray was arrested last Monday after allegedly getting wasted at a party thrown by Jerry Sandusky’s lawyer. Gray was invited by attorney Joe Amendola to watch the New York Giants game the night of December 11, along with reporters from other media outlets, all of whom were vying for an exclusive interview with disgraced former PSU coach Sandusky. Jerry Sandusky Interview Gray got “really drunk” during the game – won by the Giants over Dallas, 37-34, after an INSANE finish! – and sometimes after midnight, Gray left the party and began driving. Intoxicated. The Pennsylvania State Police stopped and popped him for DUI. According to police records released after the fact, “He [Gray] had been drinking and was arrested for DUI.” The time of arrest was 1:45 a.m. on December 12. Somehow we’re guessing Sandusky, the former defensive coordinator and accused child molester, will be taking his big-ticket tell-all interview elsewhere.
