Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar: We Will Always Stand For Truth and Values!

Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar are speaking out – with the help of scripture – in the wake of the controversy the couple recently sparked on Facebook. After posting a pictures of themselves reenacting Jessa and Ben Seewald’s kiss on Instagram, they invited married couples to submit their own kissing pics. They reportedly then deleted pictures of same-sex and interracial couples from their official page, a move that provoked serious backlash online. In response, the TLC stars posted a new message about remaining steadfast in their convictions, using a passage from the Bible to illustrate their point. Quoting Luke 6:27, they wrote, “But I say to you who hear, love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.” “This is such a sweet scripture that we hold dear,” the Duggars wrote. “We will always stand for truth and the values we hold dear without compromise.” But, Jim Bob and Michelle said, “we will do so in love and kindness – treating others well even if we don’t agree with them and we will do so without hateful words.” “This verse is a reminder of how we must always carry ourselves,” they concluded of the Biblical passage, praising the “precious words from Jesus.” The Duggars’ post did not specifically mention the Facebook controversy, but the uproar and the timing make it fairly unlikely that it was a coincidence. Hey, at least they weren’t caught having sex at a wedding … arewerightpeople?? Duggar Family Marriage Tips Be available. Anyone can fix him lunch, but only one person can meet that physical need of love that he has, and you always need to be available when he calls. – Michelle Duggar Permalink: Say yes to sex, even when you’re tired! Added: June 13, 2014 1. Say yes to sex, even when you’re tired! Be available. Anyone can fix him lunch, but only one person can meet that physical need of love that he has, and you always need to be… “God designed marriage to be a loving, dynamic relationship between a husband and wife for a lifetime,” they wrote with their initial photo sharing invitation. “God loves marriage and it is supposed to be full of love, joy, fun, and romance.” So long as you meet certain criteria, some of their critics quickly noted. In any case, their response today looks to have cooled the tensions for now. EXCLUSIVE: Dios Mio! Vincent Cassel Can’t Keep His Cassock Closed In Supernatural Thriller ‘The Monk’

Long before Pope Benedict XVI stepped down as the head of the sexual scandal-scarred Catholic Church, the 18th-Century novelist and dramatist Matthew G. Lewis’ was inspired to write The Monk , a gothic supernatural novel about a man of the cloth who is tempted and corrupted by (cue ominous music)…Satan! More than two centuries later, filmmaker Dominik Moll ( Lemming , With A Friend Like Harry ) has brought the cult classic to the screen starring Vincent Cassel as Brother Ambrosio, the titular Capuchin monk who is led way astray.   Here’s the synopsis: Abandoned at birth at the gates of a Capuchin monastery in Madrid, Brother Ambrosio (Vincent Cassel), raised by the friars, grows up into a preacher admired far and wide for his fervor.  Ambrosio is feared for his righteousness and believes he is immune from temptation – until the arrival of a mysterious apprentice undermines his convictions and leads him down a dangerous path of sin, corruption and murder. First up, is the film’s Red Band trailer which has a bit of a vampire vibe initially — the actress is Deborah Francois — and then gets all sexy and stuff. One corrupted, Ambrosio sets his wolfish eyes on the virtuous Antonia (Joséphine Japy), who, in this clip, does not seem to be interested in finding out what’s beneath the monk’s itchy cassock. Click here to view the embedded video. Why do I think this ends badly for Antonia? The Monk opens Friday, March 8 in select theaters and on VOD. Follow Frank DiGiacomo on  Twitter . Busted: Shady Police Officer Fired For Writing Fake DUI Tickets To Meet Quota

Police Officer Fired For Writing Fake DUI Tickets To Meet Quota A Utah state trooper who was recently honored for the number of slizzard citizens she got off the road has now been sent packing after an investigation revealed that most of her “convictions” turned out to be fake. via AOL News State troopers put their lives on the line every day. And the act of pulling someone over on a highway can be a deadly experience for any cop not following the best protocols. But police are also under great pressure to generate ticket revenue for their cities, counties and states, and their zeal to hit revenue targets can lead them to do the wrong thing. So says a class action suit filed against the State of Utah and a specific state trooper who is accused of writing “driving under the influence” tickets when they weren’t impaired. State trooper Lisa Steed was honored inside the state police force for busting an extraordinary number of drunk drivers. But some of her convictions were subsequently over-turned, and the trooper was reprimanded and then fired for making false arrests. Since Steed’s performance and punishment were reported, dozens of people who were convicted have been signing up with lawyers for a class action suit. People convicted of DUI lost money, cars and trailers and even jobs, according to ABC 4 News/Salt Lake City. Aren’t there enough ACTUAL drunk drivers on the road for one-time to focus on? SMH. Sit Yo Azz Down: Sandusky Lawyers To Appeal Convictions

Sandusky Lawyers To Appeal Convictions Defense attorneys say they will appeal the convictions of former Penn State assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky. A jury in Bellefonte, Pa., deliberated 20 hours over two days before convicting Sandusky of 45 charges of child sex abuse. The jury of seven women and five men provided a resounding confirmation of the prosecution’s case, convicting Sandusky on 45 of the 48 counts related to sexual abuse of young boys. Moments after the verdicts were read, Sandusky’s bond was revoked and he was immediately remanded to jail. As he was escorted from court, he took one final glance to his right, to his wife of 45 years. Dottie Sandusky and her family hugged and broke down in tears. Amendola told CBS News an appeal is planned but, barring a reversal of the convictions, the Sandusky will spend the rest of his life in prison. On the basis of WHAT? SMH. Source

Whitney Houston In 1999: ‘I Didn’t Know How To Say No’

Singer worries to John Norris about letting down her millions of fans. By James Dinh Whitney Houston during interview with John Norris in 1999 Photo: MTV News Whitney Houston ‘s road to superstardom wasn’t without sacrifices, and that was something the late icon realized during her career. In the midst of the shocking news that the megastar had died Saturday afternoon (February 11), MTV News is taking a look back at a 1999 interview, in which the singer/actress opens up about career lessons like learning how to say no. “I got that singer thing, where your cords get so swollen and they want to take a break,” an energetic Houston tells MTV News’ John Norris about her condition after canceling shows due to sickness. Donning sunglasses and a short brown bob, Houston calls herself “soft” when reminiscing about memories like her Greatest Love World Tour (her first headlining world tour) because of her then-desire to be a people-pleaser. “I’m pretty stern about my convictions and what I mean,” the diva explains during the Boston tour stop. “But when it comes down to certain things, I didn’t know how to say no. I didn’t, because there’s a lot of people out there.” Asked what goes through her head prior to performing a show, Houston says, “What really goes through my head is what note am I really going to, like, really start off with. You know what I mean? Just from the groove of my show. I know the show. They don’t know the show.” From career lessons to her love life, Houston also chatted about then-husband Bobby Brown, saying the former New Edition frontman turned her shows into a family affair when they made stops in his hometown of Boston. “I got so many Brown relatives here. You kidding me? Oh my God! And there’s a lot of them. But he has a lot of fam here. It should be a good gig.” Share your condolences with Whitney’s family and friends on our Facebook page. Raffaele Sollecito, Amanda Knox to Reunite?

She was welcomed home by friends and family in Seattle this week. Will Amanda Knox reunite with boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito next? The two were dating at the time of Meredith Kercher’s 2007 slaying. Both were found guilty of murder in 2009, only to see their convictions overturned in a Perugia, Italy, courtroom Monday evening. What does the future hold for the pair? Amanda’s father, Curt, say she’s expecting to see Raffaele Sollecito soon. “I think Raffaele at some point in time will visit Seattle,” he told the UK’s Telegraph . “It will be very nice for them to actually see each other again.” Knox’s father was “not aware” if Amanda had reached out to Raffaele via phone since their releases. Sollecito was quoted as saying just after his release: “Amanda? Maybe I’ll see her again, but now I only want to be with my family.” Her homecoming was celebrated with pizza and wine earlier this week. Knox spent time with her 5-year-old cousins, who were 1 when she was jailed. Mostly, she slept in and enjoyed the sweet taste of freedom. While the ordeal is over, Judge Claudio Pratillo Hellmann had less-than-conclusive thoughts about Knox, painted in the Italian tabloids as “Foxy Knoxy.”

Gay couple turned away from B&B by Christian owners

A gay couple were turned away from a bed and breakfast by its Christian owner who claimed it was against her convictions for two men to share a bed. Michael Black and John Morgan from Brampton, Cambridgeshire, booked a double room at the B&B in Cookham, Berkshire, for Friday night. When they arrived, Susanne Wilkinson and her husband Francis refused to allow them to stay. The owner said later that she had turned them away because it was against her policy to accommodate same sex couples. Black and Morgan claimed they were treated like lepers as a result of their sexuality. They reported the matter to Thames Valley police and have given a statement to police. Under the Equality Act 2006 it is illegal to discriminate against people on the grounds of sexual orientation. The couple had been in the village, near Maidenhead, to meet some friends for dinner and to see a local play. Black, a 62-year-old self-employed exams consultant, said: “We're two respectable middle-aged men. John is leader of the Lib Dem group on Huntingdon town council. “This was the first time either of us had experienced homophobia at first hand, despite being aged 56 and 62. We were shocked and embarrassed. “Mrs Wilkinson saw us both before we got out of the car and immediately acted in an unwelcoming, cold way, but my boyfriend and I were polite and friendly. “She said if we'd told her in advance she would have told us not to come.” She apologised for turning them away and she returned their deposit and was in no way abusive, the couple said. http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2010/mar/21/gay-couple-refused-hotel-room added by: TravG73
