You’ve heard of bitter pills, now get ready for some Twitter Pills! High fives! Nobody? Ok. Whatever. Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World and The Newsroom star Alison Pill says that she didn’t mean to tweet this pic of herself topless in bed to her 13,790 followers. But as we all know, once you tweet something, it’s on the internet forever–even if you go back later and delete the post . Twitter– you gotta love it! Alison has owned up to the pic and issued an apology earlier this afternoon (” Yep. That picture happened. Ugh. My tech issues have now reached new heights, apparently. How a deletion turned into a tweet… Apologies ,” she says), but we say she’s got absolutely nothing to be sorry for. In fact, we should be thanking you, Alison–you and your tech issues. This isn’t the first time Alison Pill has flashed her assets to the world- see her nude in 2005’s Dear Wendy right here at MrSkin.com!
In a new interview at Prestige Hong Kong , Chris Evans , he of Fantastic Four and Captain America and the upcoming Avengers fame, admits that some — okay, a lot — of his films haven’t been very good. In fact, he’ll even give you a number: “I’ve made about 20 movies and I’m probably proud of three,” he said, admitting that press tours do a number on his nerves because he’s forced to put on a brave face to promote “piece[s] of shit.” Aww, Chris. Fret not! You’ve got some solid movies under your belt! Let’s name them and guess which trio of credits Evans is most proud of. You’ve got to give Evans points for candor; even while he was promoting Captain America he acknowledged that it took a lot of convincing for him to take on the responsibility of a ginormous superhero franchise that could make or break his career. According to his Prestige chat, he sought help from a therapist to deal with the pressures of the gig even before filming, which might be when this revelation hit: “I started to realise, I think the main reason I struggle so much in press, is because I’m usually promoting a piece of shit. It’s really difficult to find a flowery way to tell people to go see this movie, that your face is all over, that your name is all over, that you’re endorsing. And then you begin to feel like a liar, like you’re transparent. You feel undeserving and it makes the interview extremely uncomfortable, for me at least. But you know what? Sunshine , which he’s said is a favorite of his , was great (well, until the end). Captain America earned far more critical acclaim than his previous superhero stint in the Fantastic Four films. And Evans lent a fantastic injection of mocking Hollywood swagger to his Lucas Lee in Scott Pilgrim vs. the World . Hell, even Not Another Teen Movie was pretty funny, and launched Evans’ career, and despite its mixed reviews, the indie drama Puncture , in which he played a drug-addicted lawyer, was a bold move. Granted, there have been many misfires — 16 out of 19 of his films are “rotten” on Rotten Tomatoes — but they’re not all complete stinkers, are they? Surely he’s proud of his work in more than just three? Take a look at Evans’ full filmography and chime in. The Newcomers (2000) Not Another Teen Movie (2001) The Perfect Score (2004) Cellular (2004) Fierce People (2005) Fantastic Four (2005) London (2005) TMNT (2007) Sunshine (2007) Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer (2007) The Nanny Diaries (2007) Battle for Terra (2007) Street Kings (2008) The Loss of a Teardrop Diamond (2008) Push (2009) The Losers (2010) Scott Pilgrim vs. The World (2010) Captain America (2011) Puncture (2011) What’s Your Number? In case you missed all of the weekend’s riveting PR stunts accidental leaks, here’s all you need to know: Christina Hendricks , Olivia Munn , and one of the stars from the debauchery fest Project X got caught up in an assortment of salacious news that warns us once again against the dangers of doing sexy things in the vicinity of recording devices if you’re famous. (Unless, ahem, you’ve got a project to push.) Nude pics, Photoshopped naughtiness, and even – gasp! – a secret porn past were revealed thanks to the Internet; hit the jump to catch up as we wait for the inevitable awesome Taiwanese animated recap to drop. I’d save the best for last, but I honestly can’t decide which of the weekend’s titillating tales was tops. So we’ll start with boobs: Christina Hendricks’ boobs, to be exact. The Mad Men / Drive actress acknowledged that she’d been hacked but insisted that a nude NSFW shot included in a batch of photos posted this weekend is not her. And who are we to argue? So an actress took camera phone pictures of herself. And she, being a lady, has breasts. Revelations! Even if she is currently pimping the upcoming return of Mad Men with various other sexually-charged interviews and even if the photo’s legit, it’s just an innocent blip on the radar compared to… Olivia Munn and her alleged naughty lingerie photos hit Sunday as well, notable only because of the instances of extremely cheesy dirty talk Photoshopped onto them, ostensibly for private dissemination to an acquaintance. Named Chris… as in ex Chris Pine , perhaps? Would former G4 hostess Munn take the time to Photoshop whilst sexting? Who knows, but wouldn’t that be kind of awesomely nerdy of her if she did? While she doesn’t seem to have anything to push until this summer’s Magic Mike — and perhaps no obvious reason to leak said pics herself — Munn pleads the Hendricks ” It wasn’t me ” defense. Whatever. I don’t know how she does it. Last but certainly not least we have a bit of news that hit earlier in the weekend, on Saturday, super coincidentally-timed to give Project X the strategic viral profile it needed. That’s right folks, it’s porn . And it appears to have been performed, circa 2008, by the film’s relative newcomer Jonathan Daniel Brown (AKA JB, the sweet, chubby one). In their report, TMZ cites “sources close to Jonathan” with the scoop, probably because “makers of Project X ” or “Jonathan Daniel Brown’s publicist” or, also possibly, “The guys still trying to make money off the thing four years later” would’ve been too conspicuous; AVN, meanwhile, digs deep to conjure a very explicit interview with one of Brown’s confidantes from the film in question, an episode named Nerd Hunting in adult series entitled F*ck Team 5 . With a gem like that on his resume, how could Brown not have gotten the Project X gig? On the one hand, I feel for these individuals and the invasion of privacy they’ve suffered in and because of the limelight. On the other, the trifecta of events serves as a good reminder to Hollywood’s image-conscious up and comers. So what have we learned? 1. Keep a lock on your cell phone security. 2. When in doubt, say it wasn’t you! And 3. Porn never really goes away, does it? Follow Jen Yamato on Twitter . Follow Movieline on Twitter .
I wouldn’t brag were it not Monday morning and it’s the only thing keeping me from walking in front of a bus, so: The final piece of Movieline’s Sundance 2012 Bidding-War puzzle has fallen into place, with director James Ponsoldt’s boozehound relationship drama Smashed going to the estimable Sony Pictures Classics. Five-for-five! High five? Smashed is the last of the year’s projected Sundance darlings to officially find a distribution deal, with The Surrogate , Bachelorette , Arbitrage and Red Lights all spoken for in the month-plus since the festival came and went. Moreover, its showcase for Mary Elizabeth Winstead as a young teacher battling the vicissitudes of alcoholism may yet prove to fall in line with SPC’s recent underdog awards tradition — the one that found Melissa Leo ( Frozen River ) and Jacki Weaver ( Animal Kingdom ) coming out of late-summer platform releases to compete with the mainstream favorites at the Oscars. (A press release sent to Movieline HQ did not specify a release date.) “The role asks Winstead to run the full gamut, from game good-time girl and stimulating teacher to shell-shocked morning-after casualty and adamant survivor,” wrote Hollywood Reporter critic Todd McCarthy from Park City. “She’s terrific at it all, far surpassing the promise she indicated in Death Proof and Scott Pilgrim Vs. the World .” Probably not coincidentally, recently crowned Oscar-winner Octavia Spencer and Breaking Bad Emmy-winner Aaron Paul co-star. Everybody in the awards pool, etc. Or not, just throwing that out there. Either way, congrats to Team Smashed ! Morning hours notwithstanding, surely this calls for a drink? Whatever, I’m having one anyway. Follow S.T. VanAirsdale on Twitter . Follow Movieline on Twitter .

In what seems like a smart move for everyone involved, Disney has hired Edgar Wright ( Scott Pilgrim, Shaun of the Dead ) to direct Johnny Depp in The Night Stalker , a feature remake of the 1972 ABC made for TV movie of the same name and the series spin-off it inspired. The property follows reporter Carl Kolchak, whose investigations into criminal happenings lead him to all manner of supernatural villains; Depp will star as Kolchak, which sounds promising given Wright’s proven track record in genre work, even if it feels like similar stories have come and gone of late with nary a blip (the Vegas-set, vampire-themed Fright Night remake, for one). Despite the commercial disappointment of Scott Pilgrim (which nevertheless, it should be noted, went on to become a cult hit), the film demonstrated Wright’s strength of vision and knack for refreshing, energetic storytelling — qualities woefully lacking in Depp’s last few projects, with the exception of Rango . Even in the well-loved and storied character of Jack Sparrow in the fourth Pirates of the Caribbean there was a glint sadly, noticeably missing from Depp’s eyes. Call it passion, or inspiration, or energy; Depp can pull off a starring turn in his sleep, but he’s at his best when paired with directors with strong creative visions. Meanwhile, the Disney gig also seems like a step up for Wright, who co-wrote The Adventures of Tintin and is attached to Ant-Man but has yet to shake off the specter of Scott Pilgrim . But assuming a decent writer is tapped to pen a script, and assuming Disney finds a way to sell it better than it has this season’s big budget pic John Carter , Night Stalker could give all involved a strategic career boost. Fingers crossed! • Disney Taps Edgar Wright To Helm Johnny Depp In ‘The Night Stalker’ Feature Redo [Deadline]
As announced on Monday , the Tribeca Film Festival will debut a work-in-progress cut of the new documentary Talihina Sky: The Story of Kings of Leon . Because of course Kings of Leon needs a documentary. Light your sex on fire and watch the NSFW first trailer for Sky ahead.
Not that anyone really asked for it, but, like it or not, you’re getting a new Arthur movie this weekend. If you’re a fan of the original film about an booze-loving millionaire, you may be at least curious how this new version stacks up to the original. Is Arthur still a mad, drunken fool? Is it a scene-for-scene remake? Since you may have some questions before you fork over your hard earned money, Movieline compares the two films so that you won’t be lost between the moon and New York City.
Someone bang the casting gong. Scott Pilgrim vs. the World co-star Mae Whitman — who you might remember as Ann from Arrested Development — is in final negotiations to join The Perks of Being a Wallflower , the angsty Stephen Chbosky novel that John Malkovich’s production company Mr. Mudd is adapting for the big screen. Whitman will play the protagonist’s first girlfriend, “a tattooed vegetarian.” Logan Lerman and Emma Watson have already been cast in the indie drama. [ Variety ]
“I was going to give her a ring, and I wasn#39;t sure,” Baruchel, 28, says. “I wasn#39;t ready in my heart to say what it was.” But this ring – a 180-year-old Victorian wedding band – wasn#39;t just any ring. “When I gave it to her, I just said, basically, #39;S— or get off the pot,#39; ” he says. “I said, #39;F— it, will you marry me?#39; ” Pill, who#39;s appeared in Milk and Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, 25, said yes. The two plan to wed in September 2012. Looks like another match mad
