Tom Hardy Lip Sync Videos: Possibly the Best Thing on the Internet

Over the past year, Tom Hardy has become one of the most beloved and bankable movie stars on the planet. As a result of his brooding good looks and one-of-a-kind screen presence Hardy has gone from starring in critically adored but commercially overlooked indie fare like Bronson to big budget studio tentpoles like Inception, The Dark Knight Rises, and Mad Max: Fury Road. Of course, even though he's partying with Leonardo DiCaprio and pulling in seven-figure paychecks these days, Hardy still makes time for his passion projects. No, we're not talking about high-brow, challenging films with his favorite directors. We're talking about lip-syncing to Whitney Houston and posting video of it online. Yes, for some reason Hardy loves to drop his tough guy persona and rock out to his favorite jams on social media.  We feel like it's best not to question it. Just let the beautiful hilarity wash over you: 1. Tom Hardy: “Stayin’ Alive” We’re pretty sure this is the most terrifying lip sync of “Stayin’ Alive” ever caught on video. Naturally, that also makes it the most hilarious. 2. Tom Hardy: “Pimp” 50 Cent posted this video of Tom Hardy lip-syncing to “Pimp” on Instagram. Remarkably, Mr. Hardy is sober these days…So we really have no idea WHAT inspired this. 3. Tom Hardy: “Fun, Fun, Fun” Tom Hardy and his friends are the new Beach Boys. It definitely looks like they’re living up to the title of this song. 4. Tom Hardy: “Bohemian Rhapsody” We already knew Tom had range as an actor, but who have guessed he’s such a versatile song stylist. His take on “Bohemian Rhapsody” might bring you to tears…of laughter. 5. Tom Hardy: “CREAM” Cash rules everything around Tom Hardy. Dolla, dolla bill, y’all 6. Tom Hardy: The Sound of Silence” Simon and Garfunkel, meet Tom Hardy and his stunt double. They might be the most badass folk duo in history. View Slideshow

WATCH: Marc Jacobs In ‘Disconnect’ — Does The Designer Have A Future As An Actor?

I’ll say two things about Marc Jacobs . He designs beautiful clothes, and he has real screen presence in Henry Alex Rubin’s engrossing  Disconnect .  I’m going to stop short of saying the fashion designer can act because he wasn’t on screen long enough for me to reach any real conclusion.   But …when he was on screen at an early preview that I saw, I couldn’t take my eyes off of him. I’m not saying Jacobs was as mesmerizing as Mickey Rourke  in  Body Heat cameo (which I’ve posted below), but he’s at least got me wondering what he would do with a more substantial role.  (Preferably, one that did not allow Jacobs to use a cigarette as a crutch as he does in the red-band clip I’ve posted below.) Does Marc Jacobs Have An Acting Career Ahead? I’m not going to hold my breath, because as Jacobs told the Huffington Post , “I never wanted to be an actor,”  but I predict he’s already getting plenty of  encouragement from his film-industry and fashion friends. (That’s what they do until they think you’re over.)   Disconnect opens on Friday, but the fashion crowd always sees everything ahead of the hoi polloi. Jacobs plays the leader of an Internet porn ring that takes in adolescent runaways in off the street and gives them shelter and a paycheck to engage in masturbatory webcam sex (and more, if they’d like). But, like most of the characters in Disconnect , he’s not your stereotypical “porn baron” as he described his role to HuffPo. “Porn Baron” Marc Jacobs in Disconnect Mickey Rourke in Body Heat What do you think?  Does he have a future as an actor?  Leave your comments below. WATCH: Lindsay Lohan & James Deen Get Retro Canyons Teaser

Paul Schrader and Bret Easton Ellis ‘s indie L.A. noir The Canyons has been a curious project to track — who’s the more random star, comeback queen Lindsay Lohan or porn stud James Deen? — but a new teaser trailer offers an unexpectedly compelling preview of the film, retro-exploitation style. The tongue-in-cheek spirit works well here, even if it does make The Canyons look like one of Tarantino and Rodriguez’s fake Grindhouse trailers. Here’s hoping the actual film has this sort of knowing edge. With teaser lines introducing “a HUGE new talent” in Deen it has to, right? It is worth noting that this trailer offers no dialogue; Deen’s screen presence, shall we say, has been proven in his chosen field but his acting chops here have yet to be seen. Side note: I once overheard strangers talking excitedly about seeing Deen in this movie while waiting in line at a semi-terrible L.A. club, so The Canyons ‘ social media outreach must be working. On Facebook last week director Schrader shared an update after screening The Canyons for Lohan : “Showed LL the film tonight. She saw and she understood. What a wonderful moment for her. Some tears, some hard words, some kisses but that’s life in Lindsayland. Sometimes the movie gods smile. Sometimes you get lucky. LL and I got lucky.” Synopsis (via The Canyons on Facebook): THE CANYONS is a contemporary L.A. noir from director Paul Schrader, writer Bret Easton Ellis, and producer Braxton Pope about the dangers of sexual obsession and ambition, both personally and professionally, among a group of young people in their 20’s and how one chance meeting connected to the past unravels all of their lives, resulting in deceit, paranoia, cruel mind games and ultimately violence.
