Cosmic Conflict: Marvel & Taika Waititi Conflicted Over The God Of Thunder’s Bod For ‘Thor 4’

Source: Xilla Valentine / GlobalGrind Marvel & Taika Waititi Conflicted Over Thor Body Type For Thor 4 Marvel is almost done counting through their piles of cash secured from their box office monster, Avengers: Endgame . The Ironman arc-ending movie has blown well past what every previous film made EVER in terms of revenue and continues to grow slowly every single day. Now that Endgame’s moment is coming to an end it’s time to move on and keep the MCU storyline pushing. To the surprise of many, it was announced that Chris Hemsworth would return to his role as Thor for an unprecedented fourth feature film. While many are excited and anticipating the 2021 release of Thor: Love & Thunder , the team at Marvel Studios is stuck making the biggest decision post Endgame: Do you keep Thor in the fat aesthetic he debuted in Endgame or return Chris Hemsworth to his lady-pleasing ripped body, which happens to be his natural state. Recently the director of the upcoming film Taika Waititi sat down with Yahoo to discuss the big question on everyone’s mind. While he’s working on the finishing touches for the script, he and Marvel still have no idea which direction to take Thor’s body. “This is an ongoing debate that we’re still having at Marvel,” Waititi told us during an interview promoting his new festival-winning comedic WWII drama Jojo Rabbit. “‘Cause we’re trying to figure out how long — how many months or years — this is after Endgame, at what point does this take place? I think we always want to keep changing it up with Thor. He’s so interesting when he’s changing all the time.” The entire purpose of Thor gaining weight was to convey the emotion he went through from losing everyone around him to Thanos. For now, it seems likely that Thor will return to the screen ripped with the six-pack he’s known for because if not, there will be tons of ladies hatefully @-ing Marvel and Taika on Twitter. ‘Thor’ Deleted Ending: Jane Sent Thor A Beacon Of Love

You’ve probably been wondering just how Thor (Chris Hemsworth) made his way back to Earth in The Avengers after being separated from his lady scientist girlfriend Jane Foster ( Natalie Portman ) at the end of 2011’s Thor . A newly released deleted scene from the ending to Thor reveals that Jane was at least trying to re-establish connection, sending a beacon skyward to help her man find his way back to her. ( And once he finds his way back, what, not even a phone call? Ugh, men. ) The deleted scene debut from Marvel teases the April 2, 2013 release of Marvel’s Cinematic Universe Box Set – “Phase One” which includes Blu-rays of Iron Man , Iron Man 2 , and The Incredible Hulk as well as 3-D Blu-rays of The Avengers , Captain America: The First Avenger , and Thor . Meanwhile, Portman’s running around the set of sequel Thor: The Dark World with mystery gadgets and Wellies, so we’ll see Thor and Jane reunite soon enough. [ Marvel ]

Avengers Cookies: Your DIY Weekend Project

Just when you think you’ve had enough of this week’s Avengers hype , along comes perhaps the most irresistible bit of culture to date around the Marvel blockbuster: “Begin by outlining the cookie in your base color. (If you were starting with The Hulk, outline the entire shape in green. Color in your outline with green icing and cover the entire cookie. You can actually use a paintbrush to ‘paint’ your cookie.) Give the base a few minutes to dry and choose your next color. For The Hulk’s hair, outline his hairline in black and proceed to fill in with black icing. You can continue to draw features in and watch your character come to life.” Take that , Jollibee ! Find more kind of awesome Avengers party tips (DIY comic-book placemats!) here . Bruce Lee as Spider-Man, Harvey Keitel as Wolverine, and More Marvel Superhero Concept Art by Alexandre Tuis

Bruce Lee as Spidey? Harvey Keitel as Wolverine? Now this is fantasy superhero casting I can get behind. Check out these and more pieces of gorgeous concept art from French artist/creature designer Alexandre Tuis , who racked his pop culture-loving memory banks to envision Marvel’s most famous heroes as played by a roster of legends and favorite actors. Rutger Hauer as Thor? Come on now . Perfection. Tuis is a talented artist who’s contributed concept art to film productions including Dark Shadows and the soundalike Dead Shadows and cites Frank Frazetta as an inspiration; he frequently circles back to his love of movies in his work, hence fun side projects like this Marvel series. Scroll down to see Tuis’s Marvel superheroes, re-imagined (all art work reposted with permission): Harvey Keitel as Wolverine: Eat your heart out, Hugh Jackman. Bruce Lee as Spider-Man: If only! Possibly the best fantasy Spidey casting I’ve ever heard. Arnold Schwarzenegger as Colossus: No need to hide an accent! Plus, the added cheeky nod to the T-1000. Who’s made of metal now? Rutger Hauer as Thor: Hauer in his heyday as the Norse god. Chris Hemsworth who? Head to Tuis’s website for the full set of Marvel superheroes, including some truly inspired choices including Zorro / Lost in Space ‘s Guy Williams as Iron Man and Bill Bixby as (what else?) the Incredible Hulk.

Anton Yelchin on Fright Night and Twilight, Honoring the Original, and Odd Thomas

Devotees of Tom Holland’s 1985 vampire pic Fright Night , Anton Yelchin would like to allay your fears about Craig Gillespie’s remake of the horror cult classic. The new Fright Night , in theaters today, pays loving homage to the original even as it updates the setting to suburban Las Vegas, turns teen hero Charley Brewster (Yelchin) into a savvy, sneaker-freak cool kid with a hot girlfriend (Imogen Poots), and makes new changes to Fright Night ‘s cast of characters, from the dangerously sexy vampire next door ( Colin Farrell ) to the angry geek “Evil” Ed ( Christopher Mintz-Plasse ) to the drastically re-imagined Peter Vincent (David Tennant), now a Criss Angel-like Vegas magician with a penthouse suit on the Strip.

Instead, the trailer tells us, literally, what Edith Zimmerman learned the drunken way: Evans, and Captain America , is “gonna get so many girls.” And boys. And anyone with a lingering fetish for the retro-futuristic stylings of Raiders of the Lost Ark and director Joe Johnston ‘s underappreciated 1991 adventure The Rocketeer .

Weekend Receipts: Thor Hammers The Box Office Competition

It was a weekend for the gods as Thor had a divine debut at number one, kicking off the summer of super heroes to a solid start. The vroom-vroom-smash of Fast Five took a steep plunge to number two while Jumping the Broom had a surprisingly strong showing at number three. Which meant that the widely-reviled Something Borrowed (more like Something Blew , amirite, dudes??) could only manage fourth place. Your weekend receipts are here.
