Columbus Short may be off Scandal. But he isn’t done creating scandals of his own. Mere days after Short confirmed his departure from the aforementioned ABC hit, the actor’s estranged wife (Tanee) alleges he broke into the couple’s home and totally ransacked the residence. In new court documents filed this week, Tanee claims Short violated his restraining order over Easter weekend when he broke a door of its hinges inside her house, tore off her bed sheets and left many lights on. Short’s wife now says she is afraid for her life and for the life of her daughter. Earlier in April, Tanee accused Short of threatening her life with a knife. She obtained a restraining order as a result, but the actor believes it doesn’t apply to their home because his name is on the lease. Short was also recently arrested on battery charges stemming from his role in a bar brawl on March 15. Short starred on Scandal since the opening episode, portraying a fixer named Harrison Wright. But his character was left in peril on the Scandal Season 3 premiere. We don’t think he’ll be making it out alive.

That cliffhanger ending to Scandal Season 3 where Rowan Pope had Harrison Wright trapped in the Smithsonian with a double agent? Yeah, that was goodbye to Harrison. Columbus Short is leaving Scandal Season 4, the actor confirmed on Friday. “At this time I must confirm my exit from a show I’ve called home for 3 years, with what is the most talented ensemble on television today,” Short said in his statement to Us Weekly . Columbus Short’s statement thanked not only Scandal creator Shonda Rhimes but also the Gladiators who championed the series to make it the phenomenon it is. “I would like to first thank [creator] Shonda Rhimes for the opportunity to work with such an amazing cast,” he said, continuing, “Thank you GLADIATORS, who have supported me throughout my entire career and of course to ABC and Shondaland for allowing me to play such a pivotal role in the Scandal series.” Short’s domestic violence issues seem to have caught up to him and since Shonda Rhimes doesn’t play around with real-life scandals, many speculated this was coming. In March, Short was arrested on felony battery charges following a fight in a bar. Prior to that, on Valentine’s Day, he was arrested for misdemeanor spousal abuse and ordered to stay away from his now-estranged wife Tuere Short. The two filed for divorce in 2013, reconciled, and are now in the midst of a heated divorce once again. Short closed his statement saying, “Everything must come to an end and unfortunately the time has come for Harrison Wright to exit the canvas.” “I wish nothing but the best for Shonda, Kerry and the rest of the cast, who have become like a second family to me in such a short amount of time. For this, I will forever be grateful.” We’re gonna miss those suspenders, but we can always watch Scandal online to see them whenever we want.

While he definitely has some explaining to do, Short says he just can’t right now. In a statement released by his publicist on his behalf Short says: “As you all know, lately my personal life has been subjected to a lot of press. As much as I would like to provide my side of events, my counsel has instructed me that a Court of law is the only and proper venue to deal with such matters. Accordingly, I must refrain from making any comments even though that is very difficult for me under the circumstances. Looks like Olivia Pope came through for Columbus. Columbus Short Bar Fight Victim Refuses To Press Charges It pays to be a gladiator. According to TMZ: “Scandal” star Columbus Short’s alleged bar fight victim has refused to press charges against the actor — despite serious injuries to his head and back — and we’re told … it’s all because of family ties. The victim’s lawyer tells TMZ, he’s been in contact with Columbus’ management to come to some sort of settlement without involving police. We’re told the victim has made it clear to investigators he doesn’t want the case pursued criminally. The reason … the lawyer tells us both men are tight with the same people — the alleged fight went down at a family member’s engagement party — so the victim wants to resolve this as amicably as possible. If they end up settling, Short could end up paying a boatload in medical expenses — we’re told the victim suffered a facial fracture and a massive concussion from Short’s punch, as well as serious neck and back injuries. He takes the “gladiator” thing REALY seriously Columbus Short Knocks A Heckler Unconscious At Engagement Party According to TMZ reports : Columbus Short — who plays gladiator Harrison Wright on “Scandal” — was involved in a bar fight in which the other guy ended up in the hospital and cops are now conducting a criminal investigation. Law enforcement sources tell TMZ … Short was at Gabe’s Bar and Grill in L.A. on March 15 at around 10:45 PM celebrating a couple’s engagement … when he started arguing at the bar with another partygoer. We’re told the other guy pissed Short off by making a comment along the lines of, “You might be richer than me but I get my girls to buy me everything I want including your wife.” An eyewitness tells TMZ Columbus then came up from behind and sucker punched the guy. The eyewitness says the man’s nose was broken and he was rendered unconscious for several minutes. We’re told Columbus quickly left the bar. An ambulance came and took the 37-year-old man to a nearby hospital. Cops are now investigating a criminal battery. Can’t make comments about men’s wives and not expect a fade to ensue, however, Columbus gotta cool out before he finds himself in hot water…unless he has a real-life Olivia Pope to come save his azz. This ninja stays catching a break. Too Short Avoids Jail Time Too Short needs to pull a Chris Brown (if he can) and buy his lawyer a Lambo for saving his azz. According to TMZ Too Short won’t be locked away after trying to run from cops during his crazy DUI arrest … after cutting the SWEETEST deal of all time, TMZ has learned. TMZ broke the story … Too Short was popped in L.A. back in March on suspicion of DUI — but during the arrest stupidly fled from cops. He was chased down and taken to jail, where cops say they found Ecstasy in the back of the police cruiser. Short denied it was his. The rapper was slapped with SEVEN different charges, including: resisting arrest, DUI with .08 BAC or higher and possession of drugs. Tuesday, Short’s lawyer Keith Davidson did the impossible … Short pled no contest to driving with a BAC of .08 or higher and in exchange, all the other charges were DISMISSED. Yeah. It’s not uncommon for first time offenders to get off easy — but Short’s deal is really incredible because he has multiple prior DUI arrests. As for punishment … Short was sentenced to 3 years probation, fines and alcohol education classes. Hopefully, he can stay out of trouble.
