Source: Paras Griffin / Getty Say what you want about Cardi B and her fans, but apparently there are Bardi Gang members in very high places. TIME Magazine named their top 10 albums of 2018, and the Bronx emcee’s debut effort Invasion Of Privacy came in at number one. The publication wrote, “Invasion of Privacy delivered—not just on the dark, defensive rap that earned her legions of fans, but also with irresistible hits like the fizzy “I Like It,” which nods at her Latin roots. Cardi’s debut doesn’t just earn her a seat at hip-hop’s table—it marks her as a singular voice.” Thoughts? Check out the full list here .

Black “Which car imma drive ta-day???” Ask Stalley and it’s either the 87 Cutlass or a classic Chevy on his new single “Options”. Stalley takes it back to his Intelligent Trunk Music roots on this new track featuring a mean trumpet. A year ago from this recent release, Stalley dropped the first part of his “Tell The Truth Shame The Devil” trilogy, so does this mean a new project is on the way? Notable lyrics: “These whips, call them my slaves. Except they all white cocaine. That’s how I reverse the pain!” Aye! Hit play to listen.

Source: Slaven Vlasic / Getty Via | HipHopDX NEW YORK, NY – Following RZA’s interview with The Breakfast Club earlier this week, the Wu-Tang Clan vet’s publicist has issued a statement to clarify RZA’s involvement in a 2016 incident involving Azealia Banks and actor Russell Crowe. During the new interview, RZA claimed Crowe “spit at” Banks at a Beverly Hills hotel last October, a detail he left out from his 2016 statement about the incident. Subsequently, Banks took to social media to shame RZA for being a “liar” and said she hoped he’d drop dead. “The derogatory posts against my client RZA by Azealia Banks is unwarranted and beyond that — unbecoming,” the publicist’s statement reads via NME. “RZA, from the moment he met Ms. Banks, bet on her to win. So much so that when others felt she would be too much trouble to work with on the film Love Beats Rhyme , he disregarded what had been said and looked beyond her well-documented controversies moving forward with securing her as his lead.” The statement continued, “Her introduction to Russell Crowe at his private party resulted in Banks going on a salacious mission to disparage him and RZA. Playing the race card and anything else she could.” Finish this story [ here ]
Source: Slaven Vlasic / Getty Sunny Anderson made a huge misstep on Twitter over the weekend after speaking about her own experiences with sexual harassment while simultaneously bashing Harvey Weinstein ‘s accusers . In a series of now deleted tweets, the Food Network host shared that she once reported a former who has sexually harassed her, saying ‘she’ was brave for turning him in while the women who followed suit afterwards were not ‘brave’ at all. “When I reported my 1st radio boss for sexual harassment, I felt brave,” she wrote late Saturday night. “The 4 co-workers that came out AFTER me were not brave to me…at all.” Sunny went on to judge her fellow victims, writing “In fact I blamed them and still do for not being BRAVE and reporting him before he had a chance to make one more victim.” She then went on to draw a comparison between her former coworkers and Weinstein’s accusers, saying, “So, as all these women come out of the woodwork…ask yourself… were they complicit in their silence? Complicit when taking payoffs?” she asked. “I refuse to call the 3rd, 4th, 5th, or 10th person to come out and say, “me too”, BRAVE. We can call them LATE though … or I can.” As if that weren’t enough, Anderson began to place blame on the victims. “Anyone wondering how/why some of these women even stepped in a hotel room???????Anyone? Are people too afraid to ask?” People out here just using the word “brave” like they know what it is. — SunnyAnderson (@SunnyAnderson) October 15, 2017 Obviously, folks took it upon themselves to step into Ms. Anderson’s mentions and issue a quick wake up call: Sis, as someone who long supports your career, everything abt this thread is wrong. It's victim blaming, rape culture-y, and so violent. — Jenn M. Jackson (@JennMJack) October 15, 2017 Sunny Anderson is a great example of how folks move the bar to blame women for powerful abusive men. — Rod (@rodimusprime) October 15, 2017 You aren't better, smarter, braver or stronger than the quiet women. You're luckier. Try not to be arrogant and judgmental about it. — J (@LibertyBelleJ) October 15, 2017 “Quiet women” are women who are abused, scared, threatened with losing their jobs, have lost their jobs, have been murdered. — Sarah (@Telsquire) October 15, 2017 After catching heat for her comments, Anderson quickly backtracked with an apology. I've deleted my obviously polarizing & offensive statement. As a victim & warrior against sexual harassment in the work place, I apologize. — SunnyAnderson (@SunnyAnderson) October 15, 2017 Repeat after me: #thinkbeforeyoutweet IMAGE CREDIT: Getty
Ice will break down his new documentary, ‘Something From Nothing: The Art of Rap,’ on Wednesday at 4 p.m. ET on MTV.com. By Rob Markman Jim Jones Photo: Slaven Vlasic/ Getty Images Things are about to get really serious on this week’s “RapFix Live,” because we have the Original Gangsta and the Certified Gangsta — Ice-T and Jim Jones — sitting down with host Sway Calloway at 4 p.m. ET Wednesday. Since his 1987 debut album, Rhyme Pays, Ice-T has stood as a culture icon, dropping classic records and later breaking down barriers in film, becoming one of rap’s earliest Hollywood draws. In 1991, he landed his breakout role as Scotty Appleton in “New Jack City” and has since gone on to star in more than two-dozen roles. Other than his raps, Ice-T is most known for his role as Detective Odafin Tutuola on “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” and also stars in his own reality show, “Ice Loves Coco” on E! On Friday, Ice will release “Something From Nothing: The Art of Rap,” a documentary he directed, which will explore how hip-hop went from underground music in the inner cities of America to the dominant music genre it is today. The film stars a who’s who of rap greats like Eminem, Dr. Dre, Nas and Kanye West. On Wednesday, Ice will break it all down. Jim Jones has also found an interest in film. Jones co-stars in VH1’s reality series “Love & Hip Hop,” and for his latest mixtape, Vampire Life 2: F.E.A.S.T. (The Last Supper), the Dipset capo prepared a number of cinematic videos that he plans to string together to form one continuous storyline. “I picked, like, eight songs, and I’ve strung ’em along like movies,” Jones told Mixtape Daily back in May. “Something good for people to look at. I haven’t seen something like that in a minute. I think it’ll be very interesting.” Jones will tell Sway what fans can expect next from him. That’s not all: Bronx, New York, MC Fred the Godson will also swing by the “RapFix” set and drop an exclusive freestyle. You’re not going to want to miss it. Catch Ice-T, Jim Jones and Fred the Godson on “RapFix Live” at 4 p.m. ET Wednesday on MTV.com, and be sure to join the Twitter conversation using the hashtag #RapFixLive.
