Beyonce’s Husband, Jay Z topped the list at a whopping $76.5 million. The Bad Boy Mogul Diddy followed behind with $64 million. Kendrick Lamar was a strong 3rd at $58 million and Drake just shy of third place 10 million with $47 million. Nas made his debut on the list this year with his personal best at $35 million with others like Travis Scott, Lil Uzi Vert, Logic and Meek Mill. Not surprisingly, Rihanna has topped the list of the Top 50 Most Influential Celebrities on the Web, a study put together by Zimbio determined. In order to be considered, a celebs has to be active on both Twitter and Facebook, be primarily famous in the U.S., and have an individual account. In other words, no bands, and no brands. Given Rihanna’s Twitter, Facebook and Instagram presence, it’s no surprise that she edged Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus and Britney Spears for the crown. Google+ and YouTube accounts, as well as scores on Klout, were also used to determine which famous figures have the most dominant digital footprints. The always interactive Rihanna and Justin Bieber top the list overall, but Zimbio has also broken down the stats with the infographic shown above. Britney is most likely to follow you back on Twitter, while Miley is the most active at Tweeting each day. And Twerking , but that wasn’t a part of the formula. Lady Gaga leads in YouTube videos, Kim Kardashian in money earned per Tweet (stunner), and President Obama in most likely to follow a porn company . Just kidding. But he totally did that at least once.
‘Slumdog Millionaire’ scribe takes over ‘Catching Fire.’ By Kevin P. Sullivan Jennifer Lawrence and Liam Hemsworth in “Hunger Games” Photo: Lions Gate Back in November, Deadline reported that Lionsgate already had a short list of writers they wanted to pen the sequel to “The Hunger Games.” According to the report, Simon Beaufoy, the writer behind the Academy Award-winning “Slumdog Millionaire” script, topped the list. Now the Los Angeles Times is reporting that not only has Beaufoy signed on to write “Catching Fire,” but that director Gary Ross will return as well. There had been no direct confirmation that Ross would return, and until “The Hunger Games” comes out, there probably won’t be, but as things stand, Ross will likely direct. Ross and author Suzanne Collins originally planned to reteam for the “Catching Fire” script, after having collaborated on the “Hunger Games” screenplay. Postproduction work on the first film and the looming proposed release date for the second didn’t allow Ross to begin work on the sequel. Beaufoy, whose other writing credits include “127 Hours” and “The Full Monty,” will adapt Collins’ book, with Ross overseeing. There are four films planned for the three-book series. The final book, “Mockingjay,” will likely be split into two flicks if the producers stick to their original plan. The first film of the series — starring Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth — is scheduled for release March 23. For now, “Catching Fire” is scheduled to hit theaters November 22, 2013. The stars of “The Hunger Games” are all expected to return, per sequel clauses in their contracts. Will Ferrell came it at #3 on tally of Hollywood stars who aren’t worth the salaries they bank. By Jocelyn Vena Eddie Murphy Photo: Getty Images On the same weekend that Eddie Murphy opens his comeback flick “Tower Heist” comes the news that he joins rom-com queen Drew Barrymore atop a list of Hollywood’s most overpaid actors in the business. Forbes makes the case that these two movie stars aren’t worth the bank they are making. The site used an involved equation to figure out which celebrities would make the list. Celebrities qualified for it based on a set of criteria. One: They had to earn a large salary. Two: They had to have at least three films released in at least 500 theaters in the past five years. (Animated flicks and films released after May 1, 2011, didn’t count.) But wait, it didn’t stop there. Using their Celebrity 100 list, Forbes calculated each star’s earnings and then looked at film budgets and returns to figure out the income for the movies. All caught up on that? OK, so here’s how it shook out. Barrymore lands at #1 on the list. Her recent box-office failures “Everybody’s Fine” and “Lucky You” only racked up $24 million combined. While her ensemble film “He’s Just Not That Into You” netted $180 million globally, the publication didn’t count it towards her profit margins since she wasn’t the sole marquee name in the flick. Barrymore returns 40 cents for every $1 she makes. Despite the success of “Shrek,” which falls in the animated category, Murphy landed right behind Barrymore thanks to films that billed him as the headlining name. “Imagine That” and “Meet Dave” earned $72 million combined and cost a combined $115 million to make. So what does that mean? It means that Murphy returned $2.70 for every $1 he was paid. Coming in at #3 is Will Ferrell, who had topped the list for the past two years. ‘People think that I have that money actually sitting at home in the basement,’ Diddy tells MTV News of topping ‘wealthiest in hip-hop’ list. By D.L. The mogul with the Midas touch has topped yet another list — but it isn’t due to record sales for his new group Diddy-Dirty Money. Sean Combs tops Forbes ‘ list of the wealthiest hip-hop entertainers , with his $475 million besting Roc Nation mogul Jay-Z by a mere $25 million. Diddy spoke with MTV News about his inclusion on the list, flanked by his Dirty Money beauties, Dawn Richard and Kalenna Harper. “To be honest, on that list, I was on the cover of Forbes back in ’98,” Diddy said. “I been on that list. I don’t really get caught up into the list. I think people think that I have that money actually sitting at home in the basement.” The figure, according to Forbes, includes current holdings and past earnings from public financial documents. Diddy confirmed that by humbly stating that, in order to have that manner of cash on hand, he would need to sell off all his companies and assets, something he takes great pride in. “It’s really like if I sold all my companies, and I take pride in [building] something as a black man that’s worth that much,” Diddy said, but he added a warning with a laugh: “To everyone calling me for a loan today, I do not have that money today!” Diddy and Jay are definitely not at war over the top spot on Forbes ‘ list. In fact, Diddy hopes people are motivated by their success. “It helps inspire people and it shows the power of hip hop,” Diddy said. Dr. Dre, 50 Cent and Birdman round out the top five. What was probably the worst year of Tiger Woods ‘ life still ended with a silver lining: he made more paper than all the cheating and gay golfers who DIDN’T get caught creepin’ last year! According to Golf Digest, the sport’s second ranked player topped the list with $74.2 million. Most of them coming from endorsements and appearances with only $2.29 million generated from tournament purses. Phil Mickelson comes in at second with $40.18 million, Arnold Palmer and Greg Norman is third and fourth with $36 million and $30 million, respectively. Jack Nicklaus rounds out the top five with $25.17 million. After his $10 million bonus for his victory at the PGA Tour’s season-long FedEx Cup last September, Jim Furyk is at number 6 with $23.58 million. Rounding out the top ten are Ernie Els, Gary Player, Lee Westwood, and Padraig Harrington. The overall earnings compiled by Golf Digest was based through interviews with agents, players, company executives doing endorsements as well as industry analysts as well as the official money list of the leading professional tours. Tiger Woods’ current earnings was a far cry from the $121.9 million he earned last year. However, his failed marriage and the sex scandal he was involved in resulted to the decrease in his earnings. Tiger spent most of the year trying to work on his marriage and replacing his swing for the fourth time in his career. The recent scandals in his life caused him his sponsorship deals with AT & T and Accenture, amounting to $35 million worth of annual revenue. After becoming a professional in 1996, Woods ended his PGA Tour season without any title and lost his number one ranking to Britain’s Lee Westwood on November 1. In August 2010, Tiger Woods hooked up with Canadian swing coach Sean Foley after competing in the PGA Championship. Since then, his swing steadily improved and is still the biggest crowd drawer in the sports. Tiger Woods is still earning $72 million worth of sponsorship deals with Nike, Electronic Arts, Tag Heuer, Upper Deck, and TLC Vision Centers. However, razor company Gillette recently revealed that they would no longer renew their sponsorship deal with him. MTV News gave some love to Kanye West as well, while Sandra Bullock topped People ‘s list . Now the Associated Press is getting in on the year-end honors, and it has named Betty White its Entertainer of the Year. White had quite a remarkable 2010, hosting “Saturday Night Live” and starring in a highly rated sitcom, “Hot in Cleveland.” And she had everyone laughing at her awards-show appearances, which included a SAG win in January and an Emmy win in September. “It’s ridiculous,” White said of the AP ‘s honor. “They haven’t caught on to me, and I hope they never do.” In the past, entertainers including Taylor Swift, Tina Fey and Stephen Colbert have topped the list. White beat out the cast of “Glee” by two votes, placing them at #2. Conan O’Brien, James Cameron and Apple’s iPad all tied for #3. Jon Stewart came in after them. Ballots were cast by 102 representatives of the AP ‘s U.S. news organization members. They voted on who had “the most influence on the entertainment world and culture” this year. White gave “SNL” a ratings boost when she appeared on the show in May. In the days prior to her appearance, she revealed that she was looking forward to appearing on the show with Jay-Z . “I’m thrilled to meet him. I’m thrilled to hear he’s going to be on the show because he’s the hottest thing since sliced bread, but I certainly enjoy him. I hope we’ll get along well,” White said. “Yes, [I have listened to his music] … I have no idea [if we’ll work together]! But I’m game to try anything. This is an adventure!” White also showed her signature sass when she joked that she had no hard feelings toward Sandra Bullock, who chose to kiss Scarlett Johansson and not her at the MTV Movie Awards in June. “No!
