NCIS Teases "Biggest Secret" Ever: Will Ziva Return?!?

Never say never in the television world, right? With that cliche in mind, NCIS fans are now preparing to say something else entirely: Holy $hit! No way!!!!!!! At one point during the horribly boring Super Bowl on Sunday night, CBS aired a promo for the next all-new episode of NCIS, which will air on Tuesday, February 12. “You thought her story was over,” a narrator says over shots of Cote De Pablo as Ziva, fueling speculating and a great many questions by adding: “Now the biggest NCIS secret of all will be revealed.” It's Ziva , one character also says, while Mark Harmon's lead agent intones: Don't tell me about Ziva! We think we speak for all fans of the long-running drama when we say: WAIT… WHAT?!? For the record, the official network tagline for this installment reads as follows: After a malnourished and confused 9-year-old is found hiding in a storage unit, NCIS reopens an old missing persons case when the girl is believed to be the daughter of a Navy recruit who disappeared 10 years ago. Also, Bishop discovers notes that Special Agent Ziva David kept on the case long after NCIS officially stopped investigating. De Pablo, of course, left the drama in 2013. She did so in memorable and seemingly concluding fashion after her character kissed Michael Weatherly's Tony, her colleague and love interest, on her way out. Two seasons later, when Weatherly then left the show, viewers learned Ziva had a daughter…and had died in an attack. It's worth noting, however, that her body was never found and/or shown on screen. “As far as my decision to leave, that's a personal thing, and I'd rather leave it at that,” De Pablo told TV Guide. She added: “The idea of leaving was not something I toyed around with for a long time. It was an overwhelmingly hard thing – at times terrifying. “Leaving NCIS was not planned, so there is no plan. If I were panicking now, it would defeat the purpose. “I need to get really excited about something, because for eight years I was really excited about this character. I don't want to start anything unless it's like that.” Check out the mysterious preview here and then follow our link to watch NCIS online if you need to catch up prior to this huge reveal.

Michael Weatherly Exits NCIS: How Did Tony Say Goodbye?

Special Agent Tony DiNozzo has left the building. Going into NCIS Season 13 Episode 24 , fans of television’s highest-rated series know that Michael Weatherly would be saying goodbye. They just had no idea how Tony would be written out. No way he’d be killed off, right? Right. But that doesn’t mean death didn’t play a key role on the NCIS Season 13 finale. The major event that led to Tony’s departure was the discovery that Ziva was killed in a bombing at her farmhouse in Israel. “Life rarely ends the way we imagine,” Ducky said as the rest of the NCIS team mourned their former colleague back at the office. From there, though, Tony was in for another surprise: Ziva had a daughter named Tali, who was hand-delivered to the U.S. by Israel officials. Because Tony is her father. With advice from his father in hand (Robert Wagner reprised the role and told his son to take some time for an emotional breather), Tony told Gibbs that he had to resign his post. “I’m everything to that little girl now,” DiNozzo his boss. “And I’ve never been anybody’s everything before.” Watch NCIS Season 13 Episode 24 Online This led to a number of emotional goodbyes with his colleagues, from McGree to Bishop to Abby, the latter of whom told Tony: “I know how much Ziva really loved you. I know . She told me.” Then there was the big farewell. It took place in Gibbs’ basement. “That’s it,” Tony said. “I’m done now.” To which Gibbs replied: “You gotta do whatcha gotta do.” A rare hug followed… and it just happened to get very dusty in our living room around this same time.  What did you think of Tony’s goodbye? What it everything you could have hoped for? Can you believe Ziva is dead?!? Go ahead and watch NCIS online via the above video if you need to catch up and then sound off. People Aint Isht: Man Who Kidnapped Woman And Used Her As Sex Slave Called FBI To Report Himself But They Did Nothing

This doesn’t make any type of sense. Man Reported Himself To The FBI And They Did Nothing According to Mail Online A teenager who allegedly kidnapped a woman and held her as a sex slave for more than two weeks called an FBI agent daily to tell him he was involved in sex trafficking, it has emerged. Brandon Todd, 19, called Special Agent Barry Crouch numerous times while holding his victim captive, telling the man that he had recently ‘recruited’ a woman, the affidavit states. It is not clear what action – if any – the FBI took after receiving the phone calls. Calls to the FBI from MailOnline were not returned and the agency declined to comment to ABC beyond the affidavit. The woman, who had been kidnapped from California and forced to travel to Todd’s home in Naples, New York, only escaped when she faked an asthma attack and went to hospital. After her escape, she traveled to Florida with her boyfriend and Todd called the FBI agent again, identifying the woman and saying he wanted help in tracking her down as he had feelings for her. The bizarre scenario was outlined in an affidavit filed in a federal court on July 9 by Agent Crouch. Todd was arrested on July 10 and charged with kidnapping across state lines, which has a maximum sentence of life imprisonment. The involvement of two states could go some way to explain how agents did not know the woman was missing. Todd met the woman on a bus from Florida to San Diego, where she was traveling to see her mother and look for a job. Todd sat next to her and would not leave her alone, the documents state. Poor woman. What an epic fail for the FBI. Facebook

Why You Should Care About the Imminent Death of Film

” By 2013 , film will slip to niche status, shown in only a third of theaters. By 2015, used in a paltry 17 percent of global cinemas, venerable old 35 mm film will be mostly gone.” The epic life and death struggle between film and digital rolls on, and in LA Weekly’s cover story must-read Gendy Alimurung details the sobering — and imminent — sea change in film production and exhibition with insights from figures at every stop on the cinematic food chain: Filmmakers, arthouse/rep theaters, film curators, projectionists, preservationists, and even the cold, lonely (and increasingly studio-blocked) vaults that house the dwindling ranks of cinema’s remaining 35mm prints. “Digital is the future!” you might say. “It’s cheaper and looks just as good as film!” Great taste, less filling, etc. Many a sentimental plea has been made on behalf of 35mm: The way things are going, repertory houses will find their programming options limited to the smattering of popular titles studio vaults make available. There’s that distinguishable living quality to film, with its pops and hisses and beloved imperfections, that digital prints just can’t replicate. Or, as Edgar Wright suggests, shooting on costlier film changes the relationship a director has to the process itself: “Because when you hear the camera whirring, you know that money is going through it. There’s a respectfulness that comes when you’re burning up film.” Most of that’s already been argued, but Alimurung takes pains to appeal to the pragmatic side of digital cheerleaders by pointing out what many proponents of digital film and its many admitted benefits (lower cost, ease of production, cheaper distribution methods) seldom have an answer for: the long-term hazards of going exclusively digital. “The main problem is format obsolescence. File formats can go obsolete in a matter of months. On this subject, [UCLA Film & Television Archive director Jan-Christopher Horak’s] every sentence requires an exclamation mark. “In the last 10 years of digitality, we’ve gone through 20 formats!” he says. “Every 18 months we’re getting a new format!” So every two years, data must be transferred, or “migrated,” to a new device. If that doesn’t happen, the data may never being accessible again. Technology can advance too far ahead.” But the demands and costs of constant technological upgrades aren’t the only issue with the industry moving exclusively to digital. “In the digital realm, the archivist’s mantra, “Store and ignore,” fails. If you don’t “refresh,” or occasionally turn on a hard drive, it stops working. You can’t just stick it on a shelf and forget about it. As restorationist Ross Lipman says, ‘You’re shifting from a model focused on a physical object to data. And where the data lives will be constantly changing.'” What’s saddest is that there isn’t an easy solution to be offered other than appealing to the studios (and, it’s worth noting, the vast majority of allied theater chains represented by the National Association of Theater Owners) to leave room for niche 35mm film culture to live on while their charge into the digital future continues. Major changes are in store for everyone — not just the studios, or the theater owners, or the increasingly obsolete ranks of actual trained projectionists, or the ticket-buyers. So yes, a storm’s coming. What can be done about it? Discuss. [ LA Weekly ] Photo: Julia Marchese of the New Beverly Cinema, Jennie Warren for LA Weekly

20 TV Characters Who’d Make Better Movie Superheroes Than Sabrina the Teenage Witch

You may have heard the news that Sony plans a big-screen adaptation of Sabrina the Teenage Witch , the animated series that yielded the Melissa Joan Hart cult TV favorite from the ’90s. This time, though? She’s a superhero . “The live action film will be an origin story in the vein of Spider-Man , about a young girl coming to terms with her remarkable powers,” writes Mike Fleming at Deadline. Of course. I guess it’ll work, but I can think of at least 20 TV characters off the top of my head whom I’d sooner see grappling with hero issues: 20 . Omar Little 19 . Erica Kane 18 . Special Agent Dale Cooper 17 . The Fonz 16 . George Costanza 15 . Diane Chambers 14 . Brandon Walsh 13 . Columbo 12 . J.R. Ewing 11 . Kenny Powers ( obviously ) 10 . Butters 9 . Laura Ingalls Wilder 8 . Rudy Huxtable 7 . George Jefferson 6 . Sam the Butcher 5 . Lou Grant 4 . & 3 . Sanford & Son 2 . Carmela Soprano 1 . Squiggy Who else? [ Deadline ]

Concerned about terrorism, Real Americans torch The site of a Future Mosque was burned down in Tennessee

Federal officials are investigating a fire that started overnight at the site of a new Islamic center in a Nashville suburb. Ben Goodwin of the Rutherford County Sheriff's Department confirmed to CBS Affiliate WTVF that the fire, which burned construction equipment at the future site of the Islamic Center of Murfreesboro, is being ruled as arson. Special Agent Andy Anderson of the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives told CBS News that the fire destroyed one piece of construction equipment and damaged three others. Gas was poured over the equipment to start the fire, Anderson said. The ATF, FBI and Rutherford County Sheriff's Office are conducting a joint investigation into the fire, Anderson said. WTVF reports firefighters were alerted by a passerby who saw flames at the site. One large earth hauler was set on fire before the suspect or suspects left the scene. The chair of the center's planning committee, Essim Fathy, said he drove to the site at around 5:30 a.m. Saturday morning after he was contacted by the sheriff's department. “Our people and community are so worried of what else can happen,” said Fathy. “They are so scared.” http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2010/08/28/national/main6814690.shtml added by: atomiclegion
